This casual pizza stand offers NY-style slices, whole pies & wings.
"The bar wing is a sacred genre of wing. It needs to be fried, a little spicy, and come with your choice of ranch or blue cheese. And Pizza Tropical (the pizza ventanita on the patio of Gramps) makes an outstanding, simple bar chicken wing. You can order them hot-sauced or tossed in a mild honey garlic sauce. Whatever version you get, they’ll be cooked beautifully—and won’t be so messy that you’ll be too embarrassed to eat them in public." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"This little pizza stand in the backyard of Gramps (our favorite bar in Wynwood) makes one of the best New York-style pizzas in Miami. Sure, we always seem to crave it after four cocktails, but you can walk in here whether or not you're trying to drink. Even if you aren't really in a pizza mood, they also have great wings and garlic knots. But pizza is certainly the thing to get here—there are about seven varieties ranging from a pretty perfect cheese slice to one with spicy pepperoni and pineapple. You can order them as a whole pie too, in case you’ve got three friends who are also under the influence of Gramps’ excellent moscow mules." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"This little pizza stand in the backyard of Gramps in Wynwood makes the best New York-style pizza you can find in Miami. Sure, we always seem to crave it after four Moscow Mules, but this is a pizza you can easily enjoy even if you didn’t just do tequila shots. They have seven varieties ranging from classic pepperoni to La Hawaiian with pepperoni and caramelized pineapple. You can order them by the slice or as a pie if you’ve got three friends who are also under the influence of Gramps’ excellent Moscow Mules." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"Pizza Tropical is a little pizza stand located in the backyard of Gramps, one of our favorite bars in Wynwood. But it’s good enough to justify coming here whether or not you want to drink. Head straight to the bar’s back patio if you’re not in a cocktail mood. There, you’ll find a yellow and red counter where you can order a whole pie or get a slice that’s simple, thin, foldable, and a very worthwhile pitstop in Wynwood. The wings are also great. "Miami isn’t really one of those cities where you can grab a slice of pizza on a paper plate every 100 yards - but we do have Pizza Tropical. The little stand in the back of Gramps in Wynwood serves one of the best slices in the whole city. For about $4, you can get a big, floppy NY-style slice of pepperoni, Hawaiian, or one with any number of other toppings. They also run a couple of weekday specials, including two slices and a coke for $6 from noon-4pm, and a beer, shot, and slice combo for $10 from 11am-7pm." - ryan pfeffer
