Yelp
We live nearby so we decided to give Pizza Alba a try tonight.
First Impression: Small, but in a quaint type of way. There is a sulfur smell lingering in the air. Could never figure out what that was. It was Saturday night and the place was busy, but no wait. There isn't really a hostess desk or a sign that says wait to be seated, so we weren't sure if we should seat ourself or wait. Luckily someone came and had us seated before we stood there too long.
Seating / Table Service: Comfy booths and tables. A pleasant waitress came over after a few minutes, greeted us and took our drink orders and promised to come back with bread. The drinks came out in a reasonable time, but the bread never did. We waited another 5 minutes or so for the waitress to come back to take our order.
We re-requested bread, which she brought. We didn't get any bread plates, so we just used our napkins.
Order: My wife ordered a pasta dish. I ordered a chicken parm sub, a pizza to share with our daughter and 2 Caesar salads. Simple enough. After a short wait, the pasta and sub came out. We asked about the pizza and salads and they said they are coming. The pizza came next, still no salads. We asked again and those came.
Food: Though the service was a bit sloppy, the food tasted great. No complaints here.
Overall, the place is fine. Probably need to work out some kinks on table service. It seemed people were a bit confused on who was working where and some other timing issues. Nothing dissuaded us that we wouldn't return or order a pizza again, it will be put in the dinner rotation for an occasional night out. It's just not a place we "have to" go back.
3 out of 5 stars, leaning closer to 4 given the taste of the food.
