Orlando’s 16 Best Pizza Restaurants | Eater Miami

"The fact this pizzeria is still going strong after serving Brooklyn‘s Canarsie neighborhood for 20 years then serving Orlando’s Colonialtown neighborhood since 1994 says it’s doing something right. For more than a quarter century, Pizzeria Del-Dio has been satisfying Orlandoans’ cravings for properly floppy New York-style pizza and it don’t show signs of slowing down. Thick-crusted Sicilian numbers, like the meat supreme with sausage, bacon, ham, meatballs, and pepperoni, is the Don Corleone of pizzas in this town, while the heart-shaped vegetarian pie always makes an impression." - Faiyaz Kara

From the moment I walked into Pizzeria Del-Dio Italian Restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with plenty of comfortable seating inside—perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. I started with the garlic knots, and they were absolutely out of this world. Soft on the inside and served in an incredible sauce that was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Even the marinara was a standout on its own. I also tried two different pizzas, and both were truly amazing. The crust was just right, and the toppings were incredibly fresh—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s clear that a lot of care and quality ingredients go into every bite. What really elevated the experience was the people. The staff were all polite, kind, and genuinely welcoming. What seemed to be the owner was just as amazing—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making every guest feel at home. You can tell this is a place run with heart. The prices are more than fair for the quality and portion sizes you get. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, and I’d recommend Pizzeria Del-Dio to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Italian food in a cozy and friendly environment. Easily one of the best pizza places I've ever been to!

I am from Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island. Hands down this place beats any place in town and ties with only one shop in longwood . I been coming here for 15 years and I have tried different pizzerias different restaurants, and these guys are the best. I always keep coming back to the amazing pizza made by John, the proprietor pizza maker and all-around good guy. Everything is made from his experience is growing up in Brooklyn so if you’re looking for the best Brooklyn pizza in town, this guy has it hands down. Everything is fresh ingredients best mozzarella best bread all his ingredients are made internally in house so you get quality good food from Brooklyn. They know pizza better than anybody else does don’t walk run to this guy‘s place. John has been making pizza for over 40 years. The guy knows his stuff he brought his Brooklyn expertise down to Orlando Florida, where he makes the most incredible the most delicious the most authentic New York style pizza ever created in the city of Orlando by the way his family and his staff are super amazing people.

Google
Lovely place, friendly reception, great pizza. I will certainly be back and try some of the other dishes. They have a lot of clients that are just like friends, what tells me how lovely they ate and how good food they serve. Love the crust of the pizza, delicious

Google
Ive eaten here multiple times before but always had a pizza which has alway been pretty good. However today i tried the meatball sub it was a full size sub that had 2 meatballs in it. They were cut into thin slices so they could stretch the full length of the sub which to say the least it wasn't very meaty, very little sauce which made it kinda dry. Only thing i can say is when you pay $13 for a sub there should atleast be more than 2 meatballs on it. Service was fast, super nice and attentive.

Google
I highly recommend this restaurant. Pizzeria Del-Dio Italian Restaurant is a small family run restaurant. The staff are very friendly, greeting the many regular customers by name. The food is cooked fresh to order in a timely way. Portions are large, filling, and very good. We used their dine in and take-out service as well. Both were ordered at the same time, with the take-out being ready when we left.

Google
We have been driving around Central Florida looking for delicious pizza. This place is a hidden gem!!! Owner is the cook and Landi (friendly, knowable and just a joy to be around) took care of us while dining. The crust and sauce are wonderful and the veggies are fresh and portions are large. Stop on in - you won’t regret it!

Google
My favorite Pizza shop, family owned and the owner is very dedicated. He Prepares all of his ingredients in-house and authentically. Their pastas are amazing I take turns between the carbonara and the A la Vodka. The meatballs are the best in town, all full beef no sausage, and their wings are perfect!

Google
Wort place ever!!!!! The pizza is nasty. And the server is rude and got sarcastic about a tip. She says to me thanks for the tip with a attitude. She didn't get a tip because she did not have good customer service at all!! We felt rushed and she keeps looking at our kids like they were a problem. I'm reporting this place because I felt unsafe with the sever confronting me about a tip. This is the first time I've ever had this happen from any restaurant. Don't eat here there very rude!!!

Yelp
Amazing NY Pizza Originally from Brooklyn. John and Staff are awesome Friendly and welcoming

Yelp
New favorite family owned Italian spot in town, hands down! I was so surprised to find out this little hole in the wall that I've driven by so many times has some of the best pizza and pasta I've ever had. Their pizza dough is incredibly fresh, perfectly crispy and doesn't flop when you pick it up, and the toppings are all fresh. The vodka pasta blew me away! It was so creamy, fresh, and flavorful. The lasagna was phenomenal with Italian sausage to add an extra kick of flavor. You can really tell everything here is homemade with love, even looking into the kitchen you can see the family cooking. Our server Jeanne was fantastic as well. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Our friends were talking up Italian which made us have a craving. We ended up here since the other restaurant had a wait. I'm always down to try new places and my guy was craving a calzone so we gave this place a shot. Del-Dio Pizza seems to focus more on takeout. We were greeted shortly after sitting and were ready to order. Based on other Yelp friends reviews we were swayed to order a sub. I went with the large/full chicken parm sandwich for $9.50. My husband ordered the margarita calzone for $13. We waited a good hour for these rather simple orders. Our server was nice, she did give us some focaccia on the house.. (which was really tasty) and another soda. But I don't see why they would put all to-go orders before customers eating inside. On the food: The chicken parm sub was okay, it had the cheese and marinara sauce but the chicken was cut into little pieces. There wasn't much chicken on the sandwich. Onto the calzone, I don't think the size of this was worth $13. We ordered the margarita calzone but it just had some runny tomatoes with small pieces of basil. The wait is what really killed our experience. I would probably only recommend take-out here.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. If you enjoy a legit NY slice without the extra ambiance-investment that is passed through guest tabs (which seems to be the move in 2024), then look no further! I love the authenticity, the taste, and the service. One of my top 3 pizza places in Orlando, I hope the Del-Dio family continue what they are doing because places like these are what makes Orlando great!

Yelp
Searching for a friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant look no further. This is your spot! This Brooklyn family ran restaurant offers some of the most loving service and food in Orlando and bang for your buck! We order to go at least twice a month from this spot and we dine in whenever my parents come in from Washington state. It's a true hole in the wall. They remember you if you come back and they serve drinks out of the big red cup. Whatever you do please don't make the same mistake we made and only order pizza. We ordered pizza for two years before ever ordering their Linguini with Clams, they recommend the red, but we swear by the white (don't forget to order it spicy if you like it like that). The Linguini and clams is the best because you can actually taste the clams unlike other places that tend to over do the lemon. Honestly order this with two forks because you will shoveling this in your mouth. Their meatballs with ricotta are the BOMB as well and I actually love their home style bread over their knots but all are DELICIOUS! Regardless if your looking for Italian and love, look no further this is the place!

Yelp
Excellent pizza and very hospitable staff. I look forward to returning whenever I am in the area.

Yelp
I was brought up on Brooklyn Italian pizza. I have lived in Orlando 25 yrs and bring back frozen Brooklyn pizza when I visit Brooklyn, NY. I don't need to do that any longer. Del Dio's pizza taste just like back home. Their calzones, stomboli, pasta and lasagna are to die for. This is back home corner pizzeria here in Orlando! I read in another review "not to make a special trip there", I beg to differ BIG TIME. Del Dio's merits special trips there any time you can!! "Buon appetito"
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick lunch. They have a special two slices and a drink for under $8.

Yelp
Best pizza, subs and specialty Italian dishes in Orlando! Daily lunch specials are delicious and affordable.

Yelp
After 25 years in Florida, we hit little Italy with DEL-DIO!!! My mom and I randomly just stopped at Del-Dio and ordered two single slices of pizza and started speaking Italian immediately! LOL! OK guys highly recommend, you've got to get two pies, don't just get one. Happy Holidays! Ciao Amore!!

Rebecca R.

Yelp
We stop by here before evening events in Orlando. The service is always quick and the food is great! I had the spaghetti with alfredo sauce last night and am still enjoying a serving today! Put this on your list of restaurants to try. It will become a favorite!

Yelp
I saw all the 5 Star reviews. I finally went there. I ordered a large mushroom pizza. The mushrooms weee fresh and crunchy. That was the highlight. The dough was thin in some parts and really thick in other parts. The sauce was bland and the cheese was tasteless and scarce. They were very nice people. The pizza was pretty bad for $22,00. I am being generous with the 3 star review. Please support them if they are your neighborhood spot. But don't make a special trip there.

Yelp
I love Del Dio. Does not matter if you are coming for pizza or a burger you are sure to be satisfied. Don't sleep on this place. Such good food.

Yelp
The best pizza places are unassuming and hole-in-the-wall on the outside and family-owned and warm on the inside. Del-Dio is no exception! Every visit we're treated with friendly service and excellent food. Their mini garlic knots are packed with flavor and come with a great side of sauce - one of my favorite knots in the area! Pizza is always perfectly cooked with a soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside crust. Consistent quality. The team is great too - they even purchased the pizza-themed shirts I made for my weekly pizza outing! What a great and supportive group that delivers a quality product.

Yelp
Hidden away in the corner of the Colonial Landing plaza, we were excited to happen upon this low-key pizza joint. Walking in, the delicious smells were mouth-watering. Customer service was great and I really enjoyed our waitress. She was friendly, funny, and extremely on top of things. She also seemed to be the only waitress, so watching her skillfully manage all the diners with a smile on her face was super impressive. We had an order of the hot wings, a 10-inch personal pizza, and a fettuccine alfredo entree. Firstly, the wings are amazing. We would order this item again in a heartbeat. They were crispy and very tasty; be forewarned, I'm assuming due to the current chicken wing shortage, the portion-size is smaller than what's listed on the menu and a bit pricier (8 wings for $13). A lot of other places have also increased their wing prices, so we weren't too surprised about this. Both and pizza and pasta were ok. We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The pizza crust was a bit thick and doughy; it was cooked through, but maybe the gluten hadn't developed properly that day. The taste was good, but the texture just wasn't there for us. We were honestly more disappointed in the mushrooms; we had expected fresh mushrooms, but it looks like they use canned ones on their pizzas. The alfredo was very creamy, but a tad bland so I added some salt. I loved that the sauce was so decadent; if you don't like heavy foods, the alfredo sauce is not for you. Highly recommend dipping the homemade focaccia bread into the sauce and eating it all together. The portion size was very generous for dinner, so I actually took home most of the alfredo and it was just as good the next day; I even added some leftover rotisserie chicken and some red pepper flakes for spiciness. Overall, I think Del-Dio's is a solid local restaurant and wouldn't mind trying them out again someday. I'll definitely get the wings, but may hold back on getting anything with mushrooms.

Yelp
Wandered in after going to the UPS store next door. Staff was very kind. Mozzarella sticks were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They were perfect. Marinara sauce tasted like my Italian mom's. So good. Garlic knots weee delicious, the pizza was AMAZING!

Yelp
Hubby was craves slice so stopped in after a BB&B shop. Nice crispy bottom on the crust. Not heavily sauced, which I like. Bubbles along the edges are my fav. Pulled over to eat it hot and it was quite satisfying. Close to a NY slice just not stringy. Hubby surprised me with one of their brownies. Gooey, not too sweet and delicious. I would do both again in a heartbeat

Yelp
Literally stopped to grab a slice and drink on the way home one day. I'll be back for a full meal, promise. Slice and can of coke ($4.50) Location is very clean and has lots of seating. I was only inside for a few minutes and it was an odd time of day. All tables were clean and ready for the dinner crowd. The staff was really friendly and nice. Asked if I wanted to add peppers/cheese before she packed my slice. The cheese pizza was PERFECT. I love a foldable slice and the cheese was gooey and delicious. Very traditional pizza and exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely stop by again on my way home to pick up a full pie.

Yelp
I am rating them a 5/5 even though I am mad at them for being closed on Mondays and it is currently a Monday and I am craving pizza.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. The customer service was amazing. I wish I could day the same about the Calzone... I order a mushroom, onion, bell pepper calzone. I got there and 2 min later they took it out the oven. I get home (5mindrive) and the middle of the calzone is cold. Not hot, not warm,,,, cold. The mushrooms aren't fresh mushrooms either. So disappointed. I had to microwave it to heat it up I did call just so they know and she did offer a credit or refund. Which was nice. Customer service is the reason for the stars

Yelp
Large pizza was excellent as was the Sicilian slices. John is a true New York pizza pro!

Yelp
I travel a lot. I was raised in Orlando and have lived here my entire life. So, I can say this. Without question, the foos here is top quality. The family who own and operate Del Dios are the nicest people. So, with all of that said, The best cheeseburger in all of Orlando is here at Del Dios.
google avatar

Aiyana A.

Yelp
Went here for a quick dinner and had such an amazing time! If you're expecting fine dining service this place is not for you, but if you enjoy a more intimate dining experience this place is exactly what you're looking for! There aren't a lot of tables and only one server for the whole place, but she was so wonderful even as it got busy she was very attentive. It took a little bit for us to get our food (not terribly long tho), but once it came out it was all really tasty. If you're snooty and have no patience you might want to steer clear lol. This is the sort of place with a lot of character where the customers know the chef by name and everyone is family. I am so happy we checked this place out.

Yelp
Pandemic era update: Pizzeria Del-Dio is still my pick for the best New York style pizza in Orlando as well as Florida in general. Since my initial review, I've dined in, tried various other items from their menu, and have entrusted them with all of my pizza related needs. Pizza? Best you can get, hands down. They're open to customizing your pizza in a way you see fit with a wide arrange of toppings. Stromboli? Most places will give you a loaf of bread stuffed with some cheese and a couple of slices of deli meat. Not Del-Dio. They hook you up with a packed stromboli filled with meats and cheeses, and it's huge enough to eat half for dinner and save the rest for tomorrow's lunch. For COVID related concerns, they're doing all the right things. Everyone in there is wearing masks and gloves, and they've arranged the dining area to adhere to social distancing guidelines. They also offer curbside pickup which is a big plus. They're doing everything right. For real, I love Pizzeria Del-Dio, and I'm glad to see that they're still on the top of their game during a pandemic. For a place that's in an awkward location in a shopping plaza that doesn't face the road, they're rocking it with plenty of business! And be sure to sign up for their weekly newsletter. They always have some great lunch and dinner specials for each week. Treat yo'self. Get a pizza or an amazing Italian dinner from Del-Dio. 2020 has been a rough year for many of us, and Del-Dio can help put a smile on your face with good eats.

Yelp
very good food! i got the chicken parm sub and my mom got the tuna sub. the service was quick and the server was nice. the restaurant had cool paintings in it and felt like i was in italy! definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great food all the time, the owner always speaks and makes himself known cool guy! This is my Favorite spot
google avatar

Maryssa M.

Yelp
Love this spot! I come here quite often for lunch and it has yet to disappoint me. They have a great Cesar salad and they do NOT skimp on their pizza toppings. The slices are large and everything always comes out hot and in a timely manner. What more can you ask for?!
google avatar

Tina N.

Yelp
Wanted some pizza with my boba at quickly and this was close by. The pizza was delicious finish one slice in the car before I got home.

Robin V.

Yelp
This little gem of a pizzeria is deserving of more than 5 stars. I work nearby and I'll frequently order from them. John, the owner, typically answers the phone and always knows me and calls me by name. I've tried so many items on their menu and every - single - thing has been delicious. The pizza, subs, pasta dishes and calzones always hot and portions are generous. The eggplant parm sub is the best I've ever had (and I've had many!). The salad is always fresh and cold. Do yourself a favor and try this place. You'll find John at the pizza oven waiting to whip you up something amazing. Take it from an Italian from NY - this is the place to get pizza and all things Italian.
google avatar

Linda G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Been coming here for 15 years now. Family owned, always feel welcome and the food is incredible. From pizza to the subs to their pasta dinners, everything is made to order and ingredients are so fresh. If your close by, come in and give them a try. I'm glad we did and that's why we keep coming back over and over whether eating in house or having it delivered..
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
Four stars for a solid Italian restaurant. We ordered from Doorstep since reviews looked good for this place. I chose egg drop tortellini soup and chicken rollatini. My boyfriend got the baked pasta sampler. Our food arrived and the portions were huge! The meals come with a salad and a delicious focaccia bread. The soup was really tasty. It had a great flavor. The chicken rollatini was very large and cooked perfectly and is covered with ham, ricotta, and mozzarella with a side of spaghetti. Their tomato sauce is not my favorite, but it wasn't bad. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well. I would gladly try more items from here in the future and will have to try out their pizza as well.
google avatar

Melody L.

Yelp
I went here on Friday to get the heart shaped pizza. They said the heart shaped pizza is popular on Valentine's Day. I got the personal sized heart size pizza and the garlic knots. They also have a large size heart shaped pizza.
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
I'm not sure if it's just because I'm spoiled coming from Chicago or what, but nothing in Florida compares. This is a New York style pizza place and maybe that's where I went wrong, but I've officially decided after this visit that I'm just gonna start shipping in Lou Malnatis because my pizza craving just cannot be satisfied with the pizza I've found here. The service here is excellent and so is the location. The prices are fair and portions are large. I wanted to be blown away by the food, but unfortunately I wasn't. It's good, solid, I'd certainly eat it again if I found myself there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it and I definitely don't see myself craving it. Definitely a great place for a couple slices at lunch time though and seriously the family that runs it is wonderful and so sweet!
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
My favorite Orlando pizza! But, most don't go to Del-Dio to order a cheeseburger, but it is one of the best around.

Jordan O.

Yelp
Still the absolute best wings in town. Even if the prices have gone up, I'd rather pay $13 for 8 (or whatever it is) and have them be big and tasty than getting the tiny crap at other places for wings over the last few years.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Updated because I've tried things beyond the pizza. Del Dio is the real shit. The sauce is better than anywhere else in town. Pizza is stellar. But do NOT overlook the other menu items. Best lasagna in town by a long shot. Also love the chicken parm and chicken piccata. My bf and I order from here usually 2x a week. Owners are awesome and the food is never less than stellar. Closest to NY Italian I've found in Orlando.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Del-Dio for years, seriously, but I have never been able to, until recently. Every time I asked someone who was somewhat reliable in their pizza knowledge, I would be directed to places without a great Yelp score, and that delayed my arrival... not that it matters anyway. I was able to persuade the family to come out here, finally. We ordered subs, pasta dinners, and of course, pizza. So, the subs were good, I'd definitively return for those, specially because they have fries, which is not a necessity, but it is a plus. We had chicken parmigiana and tuna salad. For our pasta dinner, we got an eggplant parmigiana, which was OK, nothing out of the ordinary, although the marinara sauce was good. The main dish, for us, was the pizza. If you are an American, well, you have to know pizza. I think Americans eat more pizza than Italians, as a matter of fact. However, the pizza at Del-Dio was a strike out. I didn't like the dough, the cheese, and the pizza sauce was (...). I actually think one of the worse pizzas I have had... The space is pretty cool, and interesting. If there was a cliche for shopping center restaurant, well, this is it. It's not old, it's not new, it's just 80's. Ahhh! The 80's are back! Come here for subs, maybe dinners, and yes, they have pizza by the slice, which is rare nowadays. Seriously, looking for pizza by the slice totally dates you...

Brooklyn P.

Yelp
I've had pizza delivered and it never looked like this. Actually, had she shown me the pizza, I would have asked for my money back. He placed the Sicilians in the box under the counter, handed it to the server and she handed me the box without showing me.
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
Del Dio's one of my favorite local Italian places. I've been coming here for years and years and Love coming in for a quick slice or going in on the 12" Italian sub they do so nice. They also have some reasonably priced daily lunch specials too, old school way, with bread and salad :) Solid five family run establishment.
google avatar

Idalia D.

Yelp
So my coworkers decided that we would get 4 pies. 1 Pepperoni and mushroom, 2 cheese and 1 Ham and pineapple. I ordered at 11am and the pizza was ready as soon as we got there which was around 11:30am. The pizza was ok for me reason being because it felt like it was missing something. I think their prices are too high for their pies. Nonetheless one of the things that really turned me off was that as soon as you walk in they have political signs up. I honestly don't think that you should post any signs UNLESS you post both parties. You don't want to lose customers. Political signs should be displayed outside of your business not inside. My coworker that was with me that was the one that actually told us to get the pizza from this establishment also said he wouldn't be buying pizza from here anymore.

Aldaberto G.

Yelp
They have good pizza good garlic knots and good wings. I haven't tried any other food beside that but I would recommend this place to anybody. This is a family own business they take pride in making there food.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Decent pizza. I will say they have a very good crust. Friendly service and they have a special of two sixteen inch pizzas for $22.00. They are easy to miss, in what I deem the back part of a mall. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, I parked on the side next to the dumpsters.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Great pizza- not thin crust but a crispy bottom and generous with toppings. Very yummy focaccia and oil to start!!
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
Came here tonight for some pizza. Ordered a large pie with lots of toppings for dine-in. Place was clean and cozy. Smelled really good inside! The waitress Jane was super friendly and personable. Prices were typical of a pizza joint. Food came out nice and hot and tasted amazing! I asked my girl friend "out of all the pizza places we've gone to... which is the best" she said HERE! Everyone was very nice and friendly behind the counter and thanked us for coming. We'll def be back! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Our family is originally from the north, we moved from North Jersey to Orlando almost 2 years ago. Until Friday night we still had not found a good pizza place that reminded us of NJ/NY pizza, well I think we have finally found it. We ordered carry out- 2 pies, tater tots and a side salad. The pizza was great! Great crusty, good sauce, nice amount of cheese and good ratio of toppings. The tots were not as crispy as I'd like, but I can be a tad picky with tater tots. The Caesar salad was good, I prefer darker romaine than what the salad offered, but was still good nonetheless. A huge plus, Del Dio's is only a few minutes from our house. We will definitely be ordering from here again. When we picked up our carry out. All staff were wearing masks, properly over their noses and mouths (I say this cause not everyone wears them properly). Tables and diners were spaced out appropriately too. Our family isn't dining in at this time, but it was good to see Del Dio's taking Covid seriously and taking pre-cautions to keep their staff and customers safe. The only con is their location. It's off East Colonial and Maguire but behind storage rentals there. If Del Dio's hadn't been recommended to me, I don't think I would have found them on my own.

Yelp
This spot has been around a long time. The garlic knots are the Over the years the quality of food have never fallen off. The lunch sandwiches are great and provide generous portions.

Nicholas E.

Yelp
My favorite pizza in the downtown Orlando area. Reminds me of the pizza we would eat growing up in New Jersey.

Yelp
I am updating my review to 5 stars. This place gets better and better. In addition to having terrific pizza and your usual Italian dishes, they also have a great wine selection. Their service is amazing and everyone who works there is top notch! Things I love - kitchen sink Wine, any calzone.....sausage and peppers. Any pizza. All the servers! A great local neighborhood Pizzeria!

Chad O.

Yelp
While the pizza is great; the employees are passive aggressive and don't treat customers with respect. There are plenty of other pizza places with staff that actually show appreciation for your business.

Agreevated T.

Yelp
Totally enjoy this family-run operation. Food is delicious no matter what you order. Please for the sake of love....please come and enjoy the food and do it at their pace. They don't "rush" your food: they take their time which amounts to doing it with love and much care. You will taste and respect the difference of their pace and results vs chains or small owners they don't really give two hoots if you like it or not.
