The 38 Essential Rome Restaurants

"Pizza maestro Marco Quintili opened his second location in Rome in July 2020, where he marries thick-rimmed Neapolitan pies with Roman flavors. Classic Neapolitan starters like frittatine (pasta croquettes) are flavored with cacio e pepe or amatriciana sauce, while the carbonara pizza channels Rome’s most famous sauce as a topping. Quintili’s dough is ethereal, highly digestible, and the product of years of thoughtful trial and error. The hydration of the dough, temperature of the oven, and bake time are all perfectly calibrated to create a pizza that is stable, not soupy like so many Neapolitan pies." - Katie Parla

The 20 Best Pizzerias in Rome

"Marco Quintili opened the second location of his hit pizzeria in Rome in July 2020, where he marries Neapolitan style with Roman flavors. Think: frittatine (Neapolitan pasta croquettes) flavored like cacio e pepe or amatriciana, and carbonara pizza made with grated cured egg yolk. The pizza dough is ethereal and — for Romans who judge food this way — extremely digestible. The temperature of the oven and longer-than-usual bake all conspire to make a pizza that holds its toppings without becoming soupy like too many Neapolitan pies." - Katie Parla

I tried four different pizzas and I was honestly amazed! The Casertana was one of my favorites ,it had a slightly tangy taste thanks to the bell peppers, which I personally loved. The combination of cheese and pork sausage was just perfect. Then I had the Zucchetta, which was their own recommendation and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Definitely a must try. I also tasted the Mortazza and the Diavola, and both were fantastic. Everything was super flavorful, fresh, and perfectly baked. One of the best pizza experiences. 🍕✨

Incredibly good pizza (they offered to add tomato sauce on my pizza bc the recipe didn't have any😻) and life changing dessert-the pufetti. We dined here twice during our trip. And very nice blonde waitress. I am considering to come back to Rome especially for this restaurant!🥹😭❤️ The only downside is that you only open at 7 pm🤣 IF YOU ARE FULL AFTER THE PIZZA TAKE THE PUFETTI DESSERT TO GO SO THAT YOU EAT IT AT HOME AND I PROMISE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

the starters, including the crocchetta tonda (amatriciana), crocchetta alla parmigiana, and frittatina classica, were absolutely phenomenal, delivering an exceptional experience from the very first bite. the pizza was extraordinary, with a dough that was both fluffy and flavorful. the restaurant's decor, however, feels a bit off, resembling more of a futuristic arcade than an italian eatery, which might not suit everyone’s taste. regrettably, the service, particularly from chiara, was disappointing, detracting significantly from the overall experience due to her poor attitude and service throughout.

Very delicious food and good service. The menu, although only available in italian has a lot of good pizza to offer (waiter offered us help with the menu). Furthermore it was cheaper than thought and it has a nice ambiance inside. (Also I recommend the wine)

Ordered for takeaway. But the toppings were partially missing. One pizza should have been with sausages and mushrooms but only had a bit of seasoning and one glove of garlic(?) in the center. Also had to wait a long time for this as it was really crowded in the evening. Not worth the price.
