La Notizia

"Renowned as the place for excellent pizza, the dough and ingredients used in La Notizia’s pizzas make them a favourite with locals and visitors alike. The first historic eatery, opened at n° 53, has now been supplemented by the nearby restaurant at 94/a, where bookings are essential from Tuesday to Thursday if you want to avoid a long queue." - Michelin Inspector

"In this city of pizza makers, there is a man whose reputation towers over the town like Vesuvius." The first ever pizzaiolo to be recognized by the Michelin Guide, you can try Enzo Coccia's world-famous pizzas at Pizzaria la Notizia. In the episode, Enzo takes Stanley to the countryside to gather ingredients for pizza.

I asked for sweet wine, but they opened a dry one for me, although they took it away right away and I didn't have to pay. The pizza is great! But be sure to reserve tables in advance. They accept dogs, but there are no special plates to give your pet a drink. If you don't finish your meal, they have very convenient thermal boxes and you will bring home the pizza in excellent condition. I recommend it!

Delicious pizza. The Margarita DOP was so good. The sauce was so flavorful and it felt like we were in a traditional, local restaurant.

Amazing pizza! Enzo was front of house and greeted us like we were family! His team really looked after us. I started making pizzas five years ago at home with a Roccbox, and as a pizza fanatic, the chefs were more than happy for me to see behind the scenes of the pizza production and chat about it. There are lots of options for toppings, and it all tasted fresh and fantastic! The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality. I can't recommend it enough and honestly the best pizza I have eaten so far!!

It’s definitely on the pricier side for Naples, but the margherita with provola is delicious. The cheese is so sharp.

It was absolutely disgusting. The parsley was chewy and made me gag, and the pizza wasn't just crispy – it was completely burnt and bitter. I was really disappointed."

The filled bread is really good and the classical Neapolitan pizza is very well executed and with top quality ingredients. Service is top and the wine list has a small but well thought selection. I understand that the theme here is to do a single thing very well, however, this allows this place to go as far as a classical approach can bring you: a single (classical) impasto, the lack of artisan beer and the tiny dessert list are main limitations for me to compete at the highest level in nowadays landscape.

Stanley Tucci’s favorite pizzeria in Naples, for good reason. The ingredients are amazing, the pizzas are first class, and the vibe is friendly and charming.

Yelp
This is a spot I would revisit! Good pizza - almost divine. Almost. Wish I saved room for dessert... but two pizzas took more space than I anticipated. Also not happy with phantom line items on receipt and automatic 10% charges on everything - it didn't amount to much, but it was noted.

Yelp
Very good, I do kind of want to give it a 5 star but not 100 percent sure! It was great though, especially the chocolate dessert :) A bit out of the way, the other side of Naples from where you are likely to stay but we paid 12 euros in a taxi to get there I think so not so bad. Huge pizza choice which made it really hard for me to pick one. The pizzas themselves have really well sourced ingredients and are so pretty! Worth checking out, the chocolate saltimbocca was heavenly! And I really enjoyed my starter pizza though I expected it to be a lot smaller :)

Yelp
Arriving at La Notizia to find a mob at the door and its famous chef, Enzo, at the door taking names was a delight. Each ingredient tasted good on its own. Together, the pizza didn't click. It was what I consider a "wormy" pizza. Sauce overflowing and globs of cheese lying around. Not worth the hype.

Yelp
We haven't had a bad pizza anywhere in Napoli, but La Notizia is the best we've had. Fortunately, it's within walking distance for us and being American, we don't mind having dinner at 7:30 PM, before the crowds show up. The beer selection is good, not great. They serve only pizza and pizza-based antipasti and desserts. The menu includes all the traditional styles, plus a number of in-house creations that are buonissimo! A little more expensive but worth it.

Yelp
This by far is my favorite pizzeria in Napoli. This time it had been about 2 years since my last visit and the food was still AMAZING. There has been a lot of changes, the dinning room has expanded at least twice as big and the decor has taken a drastic chic transformation. The owner, Enzo, still remembered me and asked how life was. That's huge in my book. This place is always packed by about 9 so get before then if you don't really want a wait. Also there is a second location. We will have to try that one out on my next trip.

Yelp
Enzo Coccia is a Master Pizzaiolo who was born and raised in the business. He is a perfectionist and demands a great deal from his people. I ate a La Notizia numerous times, as well as many other pizzeria's during my one month visit to Naples. There is usually a wait on the weekends, but get your name on the list and when you are in, you won't regret the wait. Excellent selection and well crafted and cooked pizza. Their Grappa was too good as was their pizza. This is one of the big 5 you need to experience. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
La Notizia will get grouped into my pizzeria rankings of Naples, probably at 3 or 4 but it is more than just that. First, it is not even close to many of the other pizzerias in Naples. It is like a 20 min cab ride, up the coast and up a hill to small little community. The owner is a delight, very welcoming and warm. This place is jammed full of the neighborhood people all night long. The second point is that this isn't just a pizza restaurant, they have a ton of different apps, salads, and desserts in addition to the pizzas so it is more like a full service restaurant. We started with a 4 cheese rolled bread which was good. Then I had the margherita and my wife had a mushroom/eggplant pizza which she liked. The best part may have been dessert which is either nutella calzone or a chocolate calzone essentially. Both are amazing. Expect a long wait the later you get here. If you come closer to 20:00, you'll beat the crowd possibly and not many tourists will be here with you.
