Incredible pizza joint -- the other dishes are even better than the pies! Don't get me wrong -- the pizza's good, but I haven't had a better arancini in the States. Loved the kale Caesar and the broccolini was cooked to perfection. Excellent, attentive service, and a warm, family friendly atmosphere. Wouldn't come here for the pizza alone, but the overall dining experience is fantastic and the food is great. Just beware that the parking is in the BACK! Bit of a pain if it's your first time, but you'll figure it out.

Had been here when this spot first opened and had not been back since. Decided to go for Valentines night dinner. I had called 2 weeks before to make a reservation and was told that they don't take reservations unless it's a party of 5 or more. I called half an hour before we were going to get there to find out how long the wait was for a table and was told that they had taken reservations and that the wait was 30-40 minutes. Obviously, I was disappointed because Valentines is not a mystery on the calendar- its always the same day every year, and an established restaurant should know way ahead of time if they are taking reservations or not. Timing was in our favor on this night as we did not have to wait more than 10 mins for a table. There seemed to be 10 different people greeting and trying to help customers. Even when we were seated, many different people checked on us. I will say this, though - everyone was very nice, but it came across as they are not organized. We ordered mozzarella sticks to start and a couple of pizzas. There was a bit of a wait before we got the appetizer, but then the pizzas (pepperoni cups and a bolognese) were on the table in good time. The food was very good - the best part of the evening. They definitely need a better system for the service - it comes across as haphazard. The parking lot (located on Allard) is small, and it can be challenging to maneuver.

I had an amazing dinner at La Rosa that I can’t stop thinking about! The margarita pizza was everything I hoped for, perfectly crisp. The vodka pasta was rich and comforting, and the arancini rice balls were awesome. It felt like a little trip to Italy, and I can’t wait to go back!

looking forward

Google
This place has great food with great small plate options. The pizza is amazing with some awesome choices and a season special. You must try the wings, gold rush id my favorite and pasta dishes are delicious and the Thursday night burger special is a must have, get there early also they have Wednesday night chicken specials which are great. Just go and find out for yourself.

Google
Really cool place with great food. The pizza did not disappoint and we had a salad that was amazing. Very close to I-95 so easy to stop here when traveling.

Google
Truly an incredible place to go for pizza. Love their white pie and vodka pie. I'm literally thinking of both days afterwards. On Thursdays they have an off menu smash burger that's so good and a must try. Highly recommend this place.

Google
so happy to have finally tried this place. thoroughly enjoyed the arancini app, pizza, chicken parm, and the pistachio gelato. definitely looking forward to returning

Google
Honestly that smash burger is top 3 in nyc the caramelizad onions and bun is what sets it apart from others, then the bolognese surprised me it was super flavorful and the ricotta on top cooled everything off I honestly could’ve ate 2 double smash burgers and 2 pastas comfortably

Yelp
Pizzeria La Rosa is a hole in the wall that at first glance you wouldn't think much about. It is all street parking but in terms of back of the restaurant there is a small lot. The servers were friendly but not very attentive, maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon. The pizza oven is the star of the show. Apparently, it is over 100 years old. Old cookery yields the best food, kinda like the old skillet your grandma used that made the best food. We got the calamari, the wings, two pizzas, and a salad. The salad was crispy and the dressing was delicious. The calamari was a little tough but breading was crunchy. The wings were excellent and flavored to perfection. The best wings I have had that could rival the Candlelight Inn. The fresh mozzarella was warm and almost had a burrata consistency. We got a plain margarita pie and a sausage/ cupped pepperoni pie. The pizza was outstanding. I know a pizza is good if I finish the crust, here there was nothing left over on my plate. The pizza is Neapolitan style with a beautiful black crust. Probably the best pizza I have had in a long time. Pizzeria La Rosa doesn't look like much at first glance. However, they whip up some killer food. I would stick with the pizza and wings. The salad was excellent as well. I definitely recommend checking this pizzeria out. The pizza was so good I would overtook the mediocre service I encountered, again, it could have been an off day.

Yelp
Excellent thin-crust NY-style pizza in New Rochelle. We've been coming here for years. We initially found this place because we were looking for the best chicken parmigiana in Westchester. This place came up on a list we found. We came for the chicken parm and stayed for the fantastic pizza. In particular, I would recommend the margarita pizza and the white pizza. I'm sure we've had other types of pizza here over the years, and I don't remember ever having a bad pizza here. I don't think you can go wrong with the pizza here. The arugula salad is wonderful as well. The interior is very quirky and rustic, with wooden tables and booths. There are even shelves with cookbooks on them, and the walls are filled with old family photos. When we visited today, an oldies station was playing, which added to the atmosphere. The service is professional and attentive.

Yelp
I've reviewed this spot before when trying their delivery, which is great. Tonight, my husband and I dined in. It was even better! This place is definitely mid-Atlantic. Not quite northeastern/New England. But big wooden bar, large, spacious, high wooden booths. Big Christmas lights hanging along the mirror. You can see the white tile pizza kitchen in the back. Young people, laid back and cool, as servers. This is a neighborhood kind of place. We had the Margherita pizza, which was crispy, hot, and delicious. We also had the bolognese pasta, made with fusili lunghi buco, beef, soffritto bolognese, and cold ricotta. The pasta was the perfect al dente, the beef was well seasoned, and the flavors were quite unexpected, but very good. We also had the arancini which was crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and served with a tasty marinara sauce. This spot has several types of pizza, pasta, salad, and parms. Service is awesome. Love the vibe of this spot. Delivery is good, dining in is better.

Yelp
This is a great gem of a place located on a little side street in New Rochelle near AutoZone. The restaurant has old-school Italian charm with delicious food. It's not a complicated menu, but it's a good menu. I would definitely recommend this place and eat here again.

Yelp
Pizza was amazing, was a little price shock when my frozen drink cost as much as the pizza, but I'm not complaining i left tipsy with one drink lols.. you won't be disappointed!

Liliana M.

Yelp
La Rosa is one of my favorite pizza places in New Rochelle. The pizzas are consistently cooked to perfection and you won't find a more flavorful pie anywhere else. Their homemade cheeses are some of the best in New York. Don't forget to try their arancini balls, delicious! I cannot recommend La Rosa enough.

Jenny M.

Yelp
The best eggplant parm I've ever had. Incredible red sauce. Excellent service and ambiance sitting in the back with our dog and a small group. Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
My wife and I have had this place on our list for a while now and finally decided to stop by. We had our baby in tow and the young man who greeted and served us was very accommodating in trying to get us set up comfortably. Upon entering I loved the old school pizza parlor atmosphere and the fact that you can see and smell the wood they use for the pizzas. Once we settled in we decided to start off with some drinks, my wife ordered a Vodka Basil Lemonade and I ordered a Kentucky Mule. Our server forgot to add the vodka to my wife's lemonade but when we mentioned it he came over with a shot glass full of vodka on the house! The drinks were really good with a nice midday kick to them! For starters we ordered some of their more popular dishes, the roasted beat and ricotta salad and the arancini. The salad was huge but tasted very light and fresh. I think I'm slowly becoming addicted to beets and this salad added to that addiction! The arancini was one of the best ones I've had, perfectly fried, the outside was nice and crunchy and the inside was super soft and moist. The red sauce that accompanied it was really good as well. For our main we decided to try the meatball pizza and it did not disappoint! The pizza was cooked perfectly, definitely one of the best wood fired pizzas I've had! I cannot wait to go back and try their other pizzas and dishes as I hear that they have a pretty darn good chicken parmesan. As a newbie I did not know you could park in the back and walk right in. I ended up parking in their back lot but walking around the block, served as my exercise for the day!

Lola B.

Yelp
The pizza is good ,the only problem is this place needs better service , been there lots of times , and the service isn't great , I hate to say it , but I'm only saying to help you guys out!

Anjoli F.

Yelp
THE coolest, hippest spot in NewRo. No question. The food and service is great but the ambience? Unmatched in NewRo! I've been twice now and both times, I've walked into what's essentially a perfect playlist. Every single song is way too cool and added to the vibe of a hip, music loving, good pizza making, divy joint. Totally reminds me of a place right outta Austin/Brooklyn. The white pizza?!? Holy crap. Those caramelized onions are sublime. Tonight, we tried the white pizza with fried eggplant, and it actually made the pizza better, which I didn't think was possible. The sesame seeded crust is something I've also never seen before. Go for the food, stay for the vibe.

Jeana P.

Yelp
10/10 everything. Service, ambiance, quality. All amazing! I'm an espresso martini snob and this is one is one of the best I've ever had even after having dozens in NYC, all of their drinks are great so it's no surprise. Meatball pizza never disappoints. HUGE salad portions, the large arugula can easily feed two. I always finish with an affogato for dessert which is decadent. The staff is super accommodating and creative if you want any special requests. So grateful to be a 10 min walk from this gem!

Alexa M.

Yelp
I can see why they have 4 and a half stars on here. I originally went to get their smash burger that I keep seeing on their socials since it looks delicious, however, the waiter informed me that they only serve it on Thursday's. I ordered a couple of pizzas then. The bolognese pizza was absolutely delicious, the flavors are intense and go so well together and I ordered a Margherita pizza which was by far one of the best Margherita pizzas I've had in westchester. The only thing that I would've liked to see is a plain Aperol Spritz.

Michael F.

Yelp
The food made at LaRosa is excellent. They use very good ingredients which makes their pizza stand out as one of the true unsung hero's in not just Westchester County but United States. The pizza is that good. The appetizers are wonderful with the arancini and meatballs standing out as exemplary. Make sure to save a little room for desert as the zeppoli are wonderful but the lemon sorbet and hazelnut gelato were the stand outs. After recently retuning from Milan and eating my way through every gelato shop I set my eyes on I have to say the hazelnut gelato they serve is the best I have ever had. I would go back just to eat the hazelnut gelato but who would do that when you can eat world class pizza at the same time.

Elayne W.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 4 on a Friday night and sat in the outdoor area which had plenty of tables open. The reason for the 4 stars is mostly because of the pies since I ordered a glass of the Nero D'Avola red wine which tasted like it had been opened for a week which was not pleasant. It also took a while for our two pies to come out. We ordered the meatball pie with garlic confit which had a delicious sauce with the tasty meatballs. We also ordered the margarita pie with anchovies which we thought was a bit too salty. Overall, the sauce on the pies were good but I though the crust was a bit dry. I'd still recommend the meatball pie though!

Joe B.

Yelp
Love their food. Appetisers definitely better than the pizza. Atmospheres is cute. Weekdays better than weekends. Staff is young and unexperienced. Definitely check it out.

Olga H.

Yelp
Had to check this place out since my neighbor was always raving a out it. The location is very weird. It is down a street that literally looks like an alley, and parking can be tough. However, patrons are allowed to park in Autozone's lot next door, just park on the side away from Autozone's store front. If you go down that alley it is essentially a dead end to the left and right and VERY tight if you want to turn around. Anyhoo, music and service were great and the pizza? Even better. I am still dreaming about the vodka pie. Yummm. The meatball pie was ok, but my husband liked it because he requires meat on his pie. Cant wait to go back.

Joi C.

Yelp
The food, especially the pizza here does not disappoint. I have eaten at the restaurant a few times, but decided on takeout tonight-and it was still on point. The beet and arugula salad was refreshing and the dollop of ricotta on top was the perfect finishing touch. The meatball pizza hit the spot because I couldn't decide on an appetizer and had the best of both worlds this way. The crispy crust is why I keep coming back.

Samantha V.

Yelp
The perfect hole in the wall. First off the restaurant itself is precious and gives off a very homey and warm vibe. The food was perfect. I ordered a good bit and everything was spot on. From the meatballs, broccolini, penne allá vodka, and margherita pizza. Thennnn the desserts were unreal. Tried the tiramisu and lemon ricotta zeppolis and almost licked the plate clean. Service was wonderful. Would definitely come again!

Donald K.

Yelp
What i ordered was really good and fresh! nice indoor ambiance with decorations and lots of comfortable seating. I even saw a Record player with some familar albums so im sure it gets rocking at times. It wasnt busy but im sure at other times of the day it must get packed! Gotta get back there to try other things on the menu!

Ant G.

Yelp
Food is so good. Amazing pizza and chicken parm. Service is good and the ambiance is

Ashley Marie C.

Yelp
I love love love pizzeria la rosa! Matt knows what he's doing in that kitchen! last night my boyfriend & I went for thursday's smashburger special.... ummmm, best burger in town at a pizzeria!!!!! I'm so glad I finally had THE burger I hear so much about! everything that comes out of that kitchen is made with fresh ingredients & LOVE!!!! The service is always great, and so the vibe... The music is always fun, you leave full & happy! Love love love pizzeria la rosa!

Pete F.

Yelp
Gotta go back and try the pizza maybe thats their forte. The Chicken Parm was crisp on the outside but chicken was leaning more towards dark meat inside and maybe they cooked it with or near had a fish scent! Had that off taste. The sauce also was very spicy didnt expect that. This place has been in repertoire for years going back my mom used to go there in the 1950s so bit nostalgic!

Angelita P.

Yelp
Small local spot with delicious pizza. We got half white and half meatball. The white side had these delicious caramelized onions, ricotta cheese, and sesame seeds on the crust. The white pizza was a very thin and light but flavorful pizza. It's great if you're craving pizza but don't want something too heavy or greasy. You can immediately tell the ingredients were fresh and homemade. My fiancée had the meatball side and he devoured it in like three minutes! Safe to say he loved it. The service was great, we called and placed the order and by the time we walked there it was ready. They offered a little jar of water for our dog which was very kind. The ambience was very intimate but one of the employees told us there's a spot in the back with tables and chairs where we can eat with our dog. We will definitely be coming back here again!

Jeff G.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken parm. Not very good and the sauce was too spicy, salad was big but boring. Prices were too high for the quality of the food, asked for bread and got pita

Kin N.

Yelp
Good and tasty pizzas from southern Italian. It is a hole in the wall establishment hidden in a one way alley, but the search is well worth your effort. Fast and friendly service, you can bring your own wines for a minimal.corkage fees. Their pizza has more vegetables toppings selection than other places. You can also order other menu items. Parking is a challenge and recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We plan to repeat when in the area. Enjoy..

Andy H.

Yelp
Ok, so La Rosa is not officially a burger joint... They serve delicious and original pizzas, salads, arancini, meatballs, etc... However there has been (at least in the past) well deserved attention being paid to Pizzeria La Rosa for its 1x a week Smashburger Special on Thursdays. The first time I experienced one, it was mind blowing. A meld of exciting flavors and textures in the somewhat over-salted burger patties (2 of them) nestled in a summery plastic bowl served with fried red potato "chips" (also, a bit over salted). We've kept coming back for more -- if only their postage stamp size, ridiculously anti-business parking lot would permit. However, our last two visits have shut down my craving for what I recall them originally serving. Those early burgers were juicy and perfectly cooked. Now, the kitchen seems intent on incinerating their patties until every last drop of moisture has been carbonized. The entire meal is now a salt bed masquerading as a burger and fries. I truly love LaRosa, so it pains me to give this review. But my only hope is that the chef and kitchen staff read this and take stock of what may be going wrong with what was once an epic special.

Joshua L.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and great people. We really enjoyed the vodka pie (with added meatballs) and the rice balls. The homemade mozzarella was excellent as well. When the two year old is happy and full, everyone is happy. Thank you Matt and Pizzeria La Rosa fam, we will be back!

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Literally stumbled into La Rosa during a recent snowstorm and what a find. First, the staff could not have been more welcoming and gracious. I got a tour of the kitchen featuring a 100 year old wood burning oven that heats to 800 plus degrees! No wonder the pizza crust at La Rosa is so thin and crispy. Yum! Now to the pie itself. We went with the eggplant (see photo). The sauce is savory with just the right amount of cheese. Perfecto! No outrageous sizes and the prices are reasonable too. The menu is straightforward with several great salad options, and they always have a special pie too. The recent winter one has Mac and cheese which I can't wait to try. How about you? New York is famous for pizza and La Rosa won't disappoint. In fact, it's my favorite!! Enjoy!

Joel S.

Yelp
A gem. this place could have been there for 50 years. it only opened 2 years ago but feels like an institution. thin crispy pizza that is fantastic. meatball appetizer is spicey and wonderful. the service is friendly and the place is clean and inviting. only issue is difficulty parking.

Ana Victoria B.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service I definitely recommend Pizzeria la Rosa, good menu options great place .

Jason M.

Yelp
I have had Pizzeria La Rosa bookmarked for a long time - at least a couple of years but for some reason I never made it here before today. What initially attracted me to the spot was the great photos and high Yelp rating from several of my friends (plus I love pizza). I was looking to catch up with one of my friends, and since we were both in the mood for pizza we decided to head over to PLR and (finally) check it out. PLR sits right off Main Street in New Rochelle - blink and you'll miss the side street it sits on. The street is tight and parking can be a challenge, but if you head over to the next block they have a small parking lot with access to the back entrance of the pizzeria. They have a nicely sized outdoor seating area, and the interior is spacious as well. The aesthetic is casual - tile, wooden tables and booths, and a large open kitchen; total pizzeria vibes. The menu is mostly pizza with some small plates and a few Italian dishes. We were there for pizza, but that didn't stop us from getting some small plates as well. We decided on the arancini and the mozzarella. The arancini were great - super crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The mozz was fantastic - it was freshly made, sitting in seasoned oil, and served with crispy focaccia. It was some of the best mozzarella I've had in a long time, I'm still thinking about it mmmm yes. The pizzas are 14 inches, and since there were four of us we decided to share two pies. They have a good selection of toppings plus the option to add additional toppings if you want. We went with the margherita pie and add garlic confit because, you know, garlic. The vodka pie also looked enticing so we got that as well. The pizzas were delicious - thin thin THIN crust with super flavorful toppings. The garlic really added a punch to the margherita, and I appreciated that the vodka pie had bacon essence on it instead of actual bacon as to not overpower the other flavors. I couldn't decide which one I loved more, and could easily have eaten an entire pie myself. Service was great, and overall Pizzeria La Rosa is a total yes. This is one of the best pizza spots I've been to in Westchester - that thin crust with those high quality ingredients were totally speaking to me. I'm looking forward to my next visit, and until then I'll be having mozzarella dreams.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Amazing pizza!! Amazing staff!!! Try the meatballs! The white pie! Everything is incredible!! You won't regret it!!

Aän V.

Yelp
Good pizza and penne ala vodka pasta! Parking is a bit tricky if you enter on the street near AutoZone because parking must be from the other street.

James M.

Yelp
My friend was raving about going here for weeks to get a burger. I was confused why he was so into the idea, but after having their burgers, wings, and purple fry chips I was sooo impressed. The server was friendly and very attentive on refills, great atmosphere, and I would not hesitate to go back!

Renee H.

Yelp
This place is a gem! It's not your mother's pizzeria! Had the vegetable pizza which featured seasonal fall veggies- crisp crust. Very good. Also had beet salad with fresh ricotta -excellent. Good selection of beer. Friendly attentive staff. I'll be back.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Food was incredible Cocktails and wine looked great but we didn't get... Very kid friendly place, lots of kids all around us of all ages Had the summer pie, was delicious! We also had the broccolini , pasta w butter and and pasta with Meatballs. Whole family was thrilled with the food. Great stop - right off and on back to the highway

Phoenix C.

Yelp
I was in the mood for some good meatballs and saw that this place had food reviews. I ordered grandmas meatballs and a meatball pizza. The meatballs were $14 and the meatball pizza was $24. It was certainly not worth the price. The meatballs were supposed to come with bread. They did not. The meatballs are really small as you can see. The pizza was good but arrived cold and was irregularly cut. The delivery driver also appeared to have an attitude with coming to my door to delivery the pizza so I met him downstairs. Overall, I spent $45 on the order to get delivered and was unsatisfied. For the price, everything should be included in the order. Would be hesitant to order again.

Anibel S.

Yelp
Great pizza. Crispy, delicious ..fresh toppings. It's a usual Friday night treat in our house. You can't go wrong.

Chaz B.

Yelp
Great pizza and wine (as has always been the case) and excellent service...but I was loudly reminded tonight why I never come here anymore. Parking is (still) a NIGHTMARE, and even if you're lucky enough to snatch one of the handful of spots in their small, very cramped private lot, trying to leave is tantamount to attempting to solve a complex math equation from the Far East. The dining room is a frantic/hectic shitshow. It's really loud, due to the at-times blasting mélange of music, and the seemingly-endless amount of small children/vermin scurrying about the restaurant as their hapless, clueless parents mindlessly dine over yet another loveless night in their now-monotonous lives. Finally, the fruit flies. I killed at least four during our meal, and with great panache, violently smacking them on the wall next to us, which somehow didn't raise any staff member's attention or concern. We informed our waitress, who, although great as a server, couldn't offer a consolation or remedy to this increasingly gross situation that didn't recede whatsoever throughout our two-plus hours there. Going forward, they may want to consider providing each table with a complimentary frog. Due to much of the above, I will likely go on another years-long hiatus from this otherwise-great thin crust pizza spot.

Matt G.

Yelp
Really great place. Spectacular food and cocktails with a super friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!

Tinina L.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken parm sandwich that's only served during lunch hours and it was sooooooo good! The bread is freshly baked and super delicious! My order did take a little while but that's because it was made to order.

Stacy S.

Yelp
We ordered the margarita, pizza, roasted, beet, salad and chicken Parmesan Wonderful customer service was apparent during the phone order and upon pick up

Max B.

Yelp
This is by far the best pizza in Westchester. A fantastic antique oven, probably originally for coal, but now wood, makes for a perfect crispy crust. Great salads too. Wine list could be better, but that is a small issue.

Randy C.

Yelp
La Rosa felt like a classic Italian family gathering spot. From the decor to the service to the food, everything was great. The salad was delicious, the meatballs were homemade and the pizza was excellent. Whether on an intimate date or a family dinner, you will enjoy La Rosa.

Aristotle O.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Westchester for Italian food everything is home made and made to order

Owen C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden treasure. If you blink too long, you may miss it. The wings and pizza are outstanding. Tried the margarita pizza and vodka pizza. Both were delicious. The wings were also out of this world. Cool atmosphere there too, very cozy. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely return ASAP

Bonnie G.

Yelp
This is a real good Brooklyn-style spot on a tiny side street. The meatball pizza is delicious! It's five stars. Full of their zesty tomato sauce and generous amounts of cheese and great meatballs. Their white pizza, however, is reallyyy overpowered by the caramelized onions, three stars. The crust is so delicious though, sprinkled with sesame seeds and so crispy. Top-notch crust all-around.

John W.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Pizzas are fantastic as are the pasta dishes. Wings are also top notch.

TJ J.

Yelp
Pizza was ok but crust was burnt and staff was kind of rude. I know people love this place so I'll have to give it another chance.
