One of the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had! Definitely add anchovies to it. Their soft dough and wood fired Hawaiian pizza was flavorful and fulfilling. We will come back to check out more on their menu.

Been here multiple times. The quality gets worse as the prices go up. The peaches & chevre was good. The happy hour margherita was gross - the red sauce was pink in the middle with a watery center. It seemed undercooked but they insisted it was “normal”. Every time I took a slice, the center would stay on the plate. Is that really Neapolitan style? We won’t be returning as there are too many other options for pizza in town.

Google
Pretty disappointed. Was not the night last night. All the pizza was undercooked that I got. One was burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. It was my first time showing what I thought was my favorite pizza to my daughter and she has asked me to never get it again. I even gave a tip that I highly regret now and should have checked my pizza before I left. I have had many times and I know it’s a softer crust but not a white and chewy crust.

Wood-fired pizza joint of the fancy variety. Excellent Caesar salad! Very Italian style pizza. 👌 Nice wine. Wait staff was very pleasant. It was a little chilly, a little empty when we got there, but it filled up and started coming to life by the time we left. Next time we visit I'll ask for my pizza to be left in a bit longer, the crust on my pizza was a bit soggy. Warmed up nicely at home in the oven the next day though.

Google
Pizza is good! And the tomato sauce they use is fantastic. Too bad the crust makes up so much of the actual pizza that I felt gypped. With their prices, I would expect more topping and less just bread. I asked for a side of their tomato sauce to dip the leftover crust. After asking twice, I went to the counter and they gave me a cup with ice cold tomato sauce. As they were only cooking one pizza at the time, it took our party a ridiculous amount of time to receive the food. And by the time the last one got her pizza, the others were done eating. They left one pizza out for so long, that they had to redo it. Our group of six was the only one in the place other than another table of four, So there was no reason for the slow, distracted, and frankly very rude service.

I gotta say, one of the most gorgeous Margarita pizzas I’ve ever had. Graciously not over cheesy, but generous enough. The perfect amount of fresh basil leaves. Stunning crust, bright sauce making the pizza slightly soupy in the center, which is how we’ve had it in Italy. Where they eat their pizza with a fork and knife. We also had their gluten-free NW Neapolitan pizza, which was stunning. And the beet salad with zesty Gorgonzola and a lovely vinaigrette over top of a generous pile of candied hazelnuts. That’ll get you to eat your greens!

Despite the ice storm, Josh and I decided to venture out for a Date Night Adventure at @pizzeria_otto . It turned out to be awesome because we had been wanting to try their pizza since they opened. The service was incredibly fast, and the food was absolutely delicious! So grateful for this memorable evening!

Google
Neapolitan Pizza? Yes. Very good pizza for this style. We have been there a few times. We have tried the salads, garlic bread, and pizza. Decent selection of beer and wine. We have brought our 20 month old son and he loves the pizza. Its not quiet there so he can carry on and have fun. I love their other location so I was really excited to have this location open up a few blocks from us. Thank you!

Yelp
One of the best Pizzas in PDX, the crust, fillings never disappoint. The food is always consistent. Crunchy crust, inventive toppings-a must try for top notch Pizza. Don't forget to drizzle some of that Calabrian chili oil on the leftover crust.

Rose R.

Yelp
First the good part: the tomato sauce is really good! But it is used on top of a poorly baked pizza crust, so soft in main area which I felt was almost raw! Thin does not equate flaccid! The service is also lacking, with everyone performing both cleaning and food contact duties, and with no smile on their faces. After we saw a giant amount of to go boxes being readied, we understood that they were overwhelmed and therefore lacked incentive to be attentive to people IN the restaurant. The ambiance is pretend Italian, with posters etc. But the lack of enthusiasm and quality speak otherwise

Haley W.

Yelp
Meh... it's pizza. We tried this one afternoon and there was maybe only three other customers in the whole place, but the service was still super slow.

Tim S.

Yelp
The service was great but I thought the pizza was a little off. Crust was too little soft and it made the crust too chewy. I also didn't care for the mozzarella to provolone ratio. I thought it was too much provolone in the mixture. Nice ambience and layout though.

Yelp
We had been a few years back when they were new and had the SALAMI & HONEY Pizza ~ AMERICAN & ITALIAN SALAMI, FERMENTED LOCAL HONEY, RICOTTA, ROSEMARY, and were delighted. I remember going back soon after and being not so. Dial the clock to today and we gave it another try with a to go order of the same pizza. The pizza was short on salami, short on ricotta, almost non existant on honey and had garlic which their Yelp menu touted. Also the crust was totally limp in the center and a bit translucent in the thicker part,( not the edge), which indicates it was short on being cooked and chewy like rubber. (Explains why it was done 10 minutes sooner than indicated upon order). When you order online your payment defaults to a 20% tip added unless you chose other. So they want a gratuity not for service but for the act of making your food and from our pizza, no care was given to the act of making it. I put Loganma Spicy Chili Crisp on my pieces and the other guest drizzled more honey on theirs.

Yelp
Family loves pizza. This place is pretty neat. Indoor and outdoor seatings, service is friendly. Staff is pretty nice. Their salads are pretty fresh and pizza may not look the best, but wasn't too bad. Parking is street, so it could be a challenge, but depending on time of visit, it wasn't too bad. Inside had pretty chill vibes, decor was very chill.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Solid neighborhood pizza joint. $8 happy hour margheritas? Sign me up... Give me one margherita, imma open my...wallet The place is clean and feels new. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter, take a number and they'll bring your pizza to you. Good selection of beer on tap and wine as well. The black garlic bread is delicious!!!! Salads - I've tried multiple kinds and although the portions are generous, they're not my favorite. I do love me a good wood oven pizza crust and they don't disappoint. Don't forget to check out the specials on their board!!!

Yelp
I've been here 3 times in the last two weeks. I think I found my favorite pizza place in Portland. The pizza are light and tasty. I've tried five different pizzas and each one has been terrific. The flavor combinations leaves your mouth watering and begging for more. I'm a Chicago pizza guy, not the thick crust Chicago but the thin crust Chicago. Otto has mastered the Italian style with a flare of Chicago taste. The service level is great, Kiana makes everyone feel at home and her smile welcomes everyone that walks through the door. The entire staff is on point to make your stay welcoming. The ambiance is casual and friendly. The music is always playing in the background with some smooth sound, weather it's rock, urban or new age it's always mello. I will continue to try their pizza creations! Stop in and grab a pie!

Yelp
I was introduced to Pizzeria Otto FoPo by my husband who took me one day after picking me up from the airport before heading home. They specialize in wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas. The pizzas. In the two times we have been to date (in a matter of two weeks) we have tried four different pizzas; each as delicious as the other. I also had the chance to try a fifth pizza based on my husband kindly sharing his leftovers. - Nettle Pesto & Bacon weekly special. Woof fired bacon ends, local nettle and pistachio pesto with fresh rosemary, mozzarella and parmesan. - Salami & Honey with ricotta, rosemary and garlic purée. - Diavola which has spicy Coupa, suppressants, mama lil's peppers, mozzarella and tomato sauce. - Sausage & Mushroom which includes shaved onion, garlic, mozzarella, and fire roasted marinara. - Margherita di buffalo which has tomato sauce, water buffalo mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful while the thin crust has a crunch with a nice chew. They also have other items to choose from their menu, such as antipasti's, salad's, dessert, and also a nice selection of wines. The atmosphere is casual and warm. The staff welcome you in with a warm hello when you arrive. You place your order at the counter, grab a table, grab a glass of water, napkins, and silverware. Then just sit back, relax and wait for your order to arrive at the table. It's that easy. My last note, I can't wait to go back again! By far, this is my favorite pizza restaurant in Portland, OR to date!! We have already been back and I look forward to the next visit.

Yelp
How many times peer week am I allowed to eat pizza I would if it was Otto's They have such great pizza Crispy yet chewy crust, New and interesting toppings (last week I had apples, arugula, honey, garlic, and white sauce!) Happy hour is often packed so go early! Their wine is great!!

Dawn B.

Yelp
We have ordered takeout several times from Otto's - their pizza is so delicious (our son's favorite is the salami & honey) - but we're usually on the go. We happened to be in the Foster neighborhood so stopped by to eat-in for a change. We're even bigger fans, now. Three of us shared the Caesar salad (so good), of course his salami & honey, and a standard pepperoni. Halfway through the meal, the son looks around for Ranch dressing (he's 16) and Dad and I are not helping - this isn't Dominos. Advocating for himself, he proactively went up to ask the staff and came back empty-handed and slightly dejected - we assumed it was because the answer was no but he had learned that they did in fact have Ranch but, "It's $1." The next thing we know, a staff member comes over and places a container of Ranch on our table for him. Inside was homemade dressing of top notch quality. The son spent the next several minutes enjoying his pizza ends dipped in dressing until it was all gone. That's great food and service - really solid customer experience - nice work Otto team!

Yelp
Even though I live nearby, I hadn't checked it out because last thing I need is a location for great pizza nearby with great happy hour pricing. Went with a friend who recently dined there with an Italian & they were interested to see what this Italian would think. Two Italians agree this is very much like pizza you get in Italy. For those that don't appreciate the real deal--head to Domino's. I'm gonna need your table.

Stacey L.

Yelp
These wood fired pizzas were FABULOUS! Such incredible crust, sauce and fresh delicious ingredients. We got the margherita pizza and the diavola pizza (per server's recommendation). Both were equally SOOO GOOD, GET IT, you will not be disappointed! We'll be back when driving through the area for sure.

Michelle G.

Yelp
The food here is good just so overpriced. Nice ambience and staff. I miss the five dollar lunch special. It went from 5 to $9, so almost doubled.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch around 12:45pm on a Thursday and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered an IPA ($6) and then a $9 Canadian bacon and cheese pizza. I feel like $15 is reasonable for a lunch. The beer was excellent and much needed after a day of working. The pizza was tasty- my only gripe is that the sauce slid right off the piece of pizza every single time. The ambiance is very comfortable with multiple tvs playing sports.

Richard P.

Yelp
Great Neapolitan pizza. You get a well-topped, excellent 14-in pizza for $20, which is so much better than the competition. Every pizza is delicious, I always recommend their mushroom pizza but when they have specials they have always been fantastic. They also make great salads, fresh with fresh ingredients and well balanced. Absolutely recommend this place, we've been there about a dozen times now. (It's right around the corner) and we have never been disappointed. They have a margarita pizza special for eight bucks from noon to 5:00. It's a simple, lightly topped pizza that is a superb cheap dinner for two. We got it once, and it was great for $8 but we would rather spend the $20 and get the killer pizzas on the menu or the specials.

Kodi T.

Yelp
Classic, delicious wood fire pizza. Their pizza is a little spendy, but the fresh ingredients and unique offerings make it worth it! If you're dining in, grab a menu, pick your seat and then order at the counter. I've also ordered takeout and it was super easy. The staff are good about providing you with an accurate timeframe of when your pizza will be ready. They have a happy hour margarita pizza for $8 before 5pm.

Ally D.

Yelp
Classic Neopolitan style pizza. The sauce is delicious and the crust has a nice chew to it. Toppings were a little sparing, but at $8, still a deal.

Alita R.

Yelp
Chop salad was fresh, well balanced, delicious! Had the verdure pizza and Nutella cannoto were all flavorful and balanced. Easy to order, ready on time for pick up. Friendly service.

Tony A.

Yelp
There's an art to making a good Neapolitan pizza, and the crew at the Foster/Powell Pizzeria Otto haven't yet learned it. While I really like the pizza at the Otto on NE Sandy and have eaten there several times, the pies served up on SE Foster are limp, undercooked, and stingy with toppings. Are the ovens not hot enough? Is the dough rolled too thin? Whatever, the pizzas we ate recently were noticeably underdressed. Nothing like the generously-topped photos of pizzas posted on their Yelp site. Busy Saturday night, sure, but our pies seemed carelessly prepared and rushed. The end result: what was brought to our table was two- or three-star worthy and certainly not worth what Otto FoPo charges. Good though pricey salads. Minimal service. The next time I want a good Neapolitan pie, I'll stick with the original Otto on NE Sandy or go elsewhere.

Suz M.

Yelp
Stupendous!!! Otto's on Foster never fails. They have weekly specials and the most amazing Caesar salad. Thanks for the constantly fabulous service Kiana!

Teddi C.

Yelp
Great Margherita pizza, great service and a good vibe. This was our first time here, and we plan to come back to try their other types. The only tiny suggestion I would have is please chop the basil and sprinkle it lightly over the pizza, rather than a few whole leaves. The basil lends so much to the flavor. It is so tasty to get a little in each bite rather than a jarring whole leaf and then a wasteland of no basil. Otherwise A+

Azi N.

Yelp
Can't beat the happy hour Margarita Pizza. Their salads are equally delicious. We tried the chop salad which was unlike any chop salad I've ever had very unique very crunchy and very tasty. They also have happy hour specials on their beers.

Gary M.

Yelp
Gary & Sandra Vancouver Island, BC Canada When my Wife and I were on a holiday in Pahrump Nevada, my Wife and I enjoyed a pizza from Pizzeria Otto. Their Ham & Pineapple Pizza which was cooked in a wood fired oven was awesome. Excellent service goes great with great pizzas When staying in Portland Oregon, I would defiantly recommend Pizzeria Otto

Wilbur K.

Yelp
Pies are a generous size and you can't beat the $8 margherita at happy hour. The stars, though, are the specials. I'm eating the Pork Sugo right now and it is to die for! It's a Neapolitan style pie so the dough is soft and light, like pastry. It has just the right amount of char and chew so you need to set your expectations. This is not east coast pie. If you're looking for thin and crispy, Pizza Hut might be more your speed. Ignore the haters and just go.

Mark H.

Yelp
Had a margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella , very tasty, crust was chewy, which I like, sauce was tangy and real cheese, not oily. When I got home I added red pepper flakes, home made meatballs, and oregano . Delicious, I will go back

Vuong T.

Yelp
Stopped by since I live down the street and got the mushroom and sausage pizza and the wild mushroom pizza. They're individual size pizzas and I got them to-go, although it looked like a really cool spot to eat with some friends. They were surprisingly good! The crust was nice and chewy. I wish the bottom of the crust was crispier but not the end of the world. Both pizzas were good and I'd get them again.

Kat S.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. I seriously love their gluten free pizza, and my husband always enjoys the regular Neapolitan crust. It's hands down one of the best crusts I have ever had. A couple of my favorites are the margherita pizza, the prosciutto & arugula pizza, and the tribunali pizza. Roasted veggies are always tasty, and their house red wine is a good go to, specially during happy hour. They also have a weekly rotation of different seasonal pizzas, which I generally indulge in. Their ingredients are fresh, the pizzas are creative and toppings are well balanced. So, why the mixed feelings? I think it's mostly the atmosphere. It's bright, a bit sterile , and boring. They play good music, but it just never comes off as a place I wanna hang out in like Baby Dolls or something. It feels more like a carry out place with the option to eat in. I work from home, so it's nice to get out of the house so I generally opt to eat here, it just always feels a little awkward. I wish there was a bar to sit at, or the lights were a little dimmer? I dunno, something to make it feel a little more welcoming. Overall, this place is one of my favorite spots since moving to the neighborhood. I just wish it had a little bit more of an ambiance.

jocelyn b.

Yelp
Going to go ahead and say it. This is the best pizza in Portland. It's delicious. I've been to Italy , lived in Italy. This pizza takes me straight to Napoli. Yum. The sauce...... I had to get a basic pepperoni cuz that's what my son likes ....& it still blew my mind! Are they using Italian flour in the crust?????? Something is different

Jinyen C.

Yelp
We had just gotten into Portland and have a cousin that lives here. He suggested this place! We called in on a Monday and picked up our order around 5:30pm - they were so fast! We are so picky since we always have pizza from NY and this place helped satisfy our cravings. If you love Neapolitan hand tossed, wood oven bubbly pizza with high quality mozzarella - this is the place for you! Crusty dough on the outside, soft chewy on the inside. YUM!!! Best of all, it came with chili oil!!! That's one of my favorite addictions to crusty style pizza! We got lucky and hit the happy hour special! It was 3 adults and 2 preteens, so we ordered 4 Margherita pies and there was plenty extras that we finished even though we were so full. We couldn't stop eating because it tasted so good and wanted to savor every last bite. ... Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures for this one because we dove right in so quickly!

Jenni B.

Yelp
Their house made gluten free crust on the margarita pizza is delicious and it was NOT soggy. It's difficult to find a place that has a decent gf crust but this did not disappoint. I added the garlic per the recommendation of the person at the counter and I'm glad I got that because without it, my pizza probably would not have been as flavorful. My friends got the same pizza with the regular crust and it was soggy.

Jacqueline J.

Yelp
Yep we still love this place! Even better than we remembered. Been meaning to come back here and so glad we did!! Very nice staff, wonderful pizza and fast service. Could not ask for more!! Many thanks Pizzeria Otto!

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Happy Hour Legends. Margarita Pizza is a must try and the perfect bite to share for two.

Glenna H.

Yelp
Where to begin. The service is excellent, the pizza is even better. They have a rotating menu of pizzas featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. It's kind of hard to believe that such a family friendly, low-key spot has such incredible pizzas--but believe it!! The happy hour is hard to beat as well.

Kathy D.

Yelp
Excellent crafted pizza, served promptly, cool Portland outdoor seating vibe.. Will definitely come back.

Dawn P.

Yelp
Sadly not worth experiencing. The pizza crust was so thin that when it came out it had already turned soggy and easily ripped apart. It was also roughy. My pizza came out in less than 10 minutes after ordering it. The mushrooms were also black. I really hope they sauté the mushrooms and they weren't just old.

Beatriz R.

Yelp
We love this place! I need gluten free dough & it's delicious. The first time I almost had to ask again because it was too good to be true. The pizza is delicious and so are their salads & roasted veggies. Everything tastes so fresh. You can tell it's quality ingredients.

Justin W.

Yelp
Like others have posted. Its hit and miss. Ive had great pizza & some that were just 30 seconds to a minute from greatness.. go on a mid week day to increase your chances of not getting a rushed pie

Alex N.

Yelp
First timer here. Wanted to try this place based off a friends recommendation. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it took less than 15 minutes! Walked in a grabbed my pizza to try at home. I was sadly disappointed in the pizza though. The pizza was surprisingly luke warm (I live about 5 minutes away). The toppings would slide off when I raised the pizza. The crust was pretty thin. The crust reminded me of naan which is not a bad thing. Overall I wish the pizza was more hot and not undercooked. Pepperoni was pretty good though.

Mackenzie D.

Yelp
On Pizza Fridays we are always looking for a spot that can cater to my husbands dairy free needs and is also delicious. We ventured out here two weeks ago and are back tonight. The vegan ricotta is truly delicious and the Caesar salad has a great balance of salt, garlic and lemon, covered in fresh parm. Also the space is nice sized but also cozy and well lit. Caesar Salad / Mushroom and Sausage Pizza

Nancy B.

Yelp
Reliably great pizza that won't blow your mind but also won't fail you, especially when you're craving a good pie. They have rotating flavors, my favorite being the elote pizza, but the margherita is light and easy to consume along side a ginger beer. Casual atmosphere great for bringing a family group, which can be hard to find in Portland.

Colleen A.

Yelp
Had 2 delicious meals at Otto FOPO Loved the wood fired pizza Staff did a great job making us feel comfortable and safe during COVID. Sat outside at picnic tables

Mia J.

Yelp
The thing you have to understand before coming in here is that it's different than other styles of pizza. If you want crispy American pizza, you won't get that here. If you want delicious Neapolitan pizza that is traditionally eaten with utensils, you hit gold. Certainly a choose your own adventure spot. You can go in and get a stellar half off Margherita and steeply discounted beer or wine during happy hour, or ball out and get a lovely special pie with some sort of cohesive blend of local and seasonal ingredients on it. I can usually crush a whole pizza on my own when I visit with some veggies from the oven which also never disappoint.

Marc F.

Yelp
I want you to know, that I'm happy for food I wish nothing but the best Panuozzo Another locale to eat Routine subverted, likely Italian chowdown before the theater Does she speak Tribunali? And would she Salami & Honey? I'm sure she'd make a really excellent Margherita 'Cause the freshness of the steam Arugula, pecorino, prosciutto, lemon drizzling We're in Gragnano And every time you Morissette Do they know how you uphold Neapolitan traditions? Behold Jagged little pizza, like Alanis And I'm here to remind you Of the press you made when you left Napoli It's not square, like a factory Soft-crust carbs I bear that you gave to me You, you, you OTTO GO

Steve B.

Yelp
We came for the Neapolitan pizza but stayed for the roasted veggies and salad. The vegetable preparations here are inspired. Pizza was pretty good. The sauce yummy, pepperoni excellent and the mozzarella creamy and delicious. This is a fantastic sit down restaurant. Go eat a pizza at Otto.

Kristen B.

Yelp
pizza is amazing as always but service is horrendous! waited 20 min for takeout that was 20 minutes late, only to find out that my order had been sitting there getting cold. they'd firgotten to call out my name.

Viet N.

Yelp
We love this place! Honestly, driving out to Sandy is a bit of work for us so we were really happy to see an Otto open up on Foster. Often times, salads are kind of an afterthought-- the play second banana to the main course. But here the salads almost steal the show! Our favorite is the chop salad-- there's nothing really unique about the ingredients, but the freshness of the veggies and the added nuts makes for a super crisp salad. Sometimes you also get fire roasted Brussel sprouts. And in a well mixed dressing and you get salad perfection. You didn't think you'd be 300 words into a review and still be reading the brussel sprouts but here we are, lol. The pizza is amazing here! The crust is super thin and the ingredients are very high quality. The turnaround time to make a pizza is super fast, due to the nature of the fire open. You really can't go wrong with any kind of pizza. I recommend getting a small salad for 2 people and large salad for larger groups. One pizza can easily feed two people so count on getting multiple pizzas so everyone can try all the different kinds. Also this was written in the middle of the COVID 19 pandemic so please buy gift cards online so they can be around to serve pizzas for a long time.

Kelsi M.

Yelp
Post 'Rona your service has been utter shit. As a hairstylist that greatly appreciates my clients regardless of a tip left or not, customer service is left to be desired here and why I wish they'd be called gratuity!! I can play into the concern of a pandemic when we dont all know each other's circumstances. I supported this location so long as the weather denoted your outside only seating accommodations. Now that we're open & mask free, your service is deplorable. To expect a customer to leave a 15-25% GRATUITY before receiving service or food to base the GRATITUDE of my appreciation is quite presumptuous. Y'all used to bring silverware, plates and napkins before the pandemic. It wasn't a strain to request red pepper flakes from a server. Now I have to self service with a snarky reply from a server because it's so damn busy with one other table here (sure a party of 8but Damn chill for what I've seen). I shall leave my empty plate & glass to ensure you've earned the 30% gratuity I left. And thank you for my lunch before I go about my day. But I shall be sure to forever take my business elsewhere. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the self service stations when visiting this location for any need that may arise during your dining experience.

Daniel R.

Yelp
Here's the deal: This place is mere steps away from greatness. It could be, I think, a contender for "Pizza That's Actually Worth What You Pay," which is a rarity in Portland. The Veggies Al Forno? Out of control good. The Seasonal Chopped Salad? Phenomenal. Probably the best salad in this fine hamlet. The mushrooms, broccoli rabe, and mozzarella (all of which can be found on the delightfully original neapolitan pizzas that comprise the menu)? Perfect every time. What I'm saying is, and not to put too fine a point on it, this place is a vegetable bachannal. The sausage is really good, as well. Howmstever, I have been here several times now, and every single one of those times, they've taken the pizza out of the oven too early. So consistently, in fact, that, while I would've liked to believe that it was a case of "The Pizziola is Stoned (As Well They Should Be), And Forgot How Long The Pizza Was In There," it is not. This is a real-deal problem, and it's actively holding Otto from reaching the heights it just barely misses. It's like watching a figure skater nail a triple axle, only to trip over their laces. Except on your tongue. And that is super sucky.
