"I'm excited that Pizzeria Otto will open its new location at 7122 SE Foster Road this Saturday: a brand-new, 2,350-square-foot space more than twice the size of the original that keeps a familiar rustic warmth while leaning into more modern aesthetics. The menu remains focused on soft-crust Neapolitan pizzas—topped with ingredients like smoked ham, soppressata, and wild mushrooms—alongside salads, seasonal roasted vegetables, Italian wines, and a few new items; the Foster spot will also bring over the famed $6 happy hour margherita served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again after 8 p.m. until close. Chef Sam Reed and owner Clark Hale visited Naples to study the style (Reed trained under pizzaiolo Enzo Coccia), and the new location will emphasize beer and “seriously fun” Italian wines, including biodynamic, organic, and small-producer bottles at affordable prices. New to the menu is panuozzo, a Gragnano-style pie that puffs up in the wood-fired oven, gets sliced open, and is classically filled with arugula, pecorino, and prosciutto with a drizzle of lemon so the fillings warm from the steam but stay fresh. Two walls of the space are glass while the others are wood and tile, pizzas are cooked in full view at the bar in an exposed kitchen, and the room seats more than 80 across booths, bar, and tables—initial hours the first week will be 5–9 p.m., with lunch service (and daytime happy hour) starting at 11 a.m. daily thereafter." - Alex Frane
