20 Great Restaurants in Ridgewood

"Pizzeria Panina specializes in pies made of a chewy sourdough that comes sized for parties of two. Toppings run from tangy dollops of labneh yogurt to a forest of mushrooms, to hot honey-infused bacon that the restaurant buys across the street from the historic pork shop, Morscher’s." - Robert Sietsema, Andrew Karpan

The Best New Pizza In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The pies at Pizzeria Panina in Ridgewood are bouncy, charred, and wafer-thin. They're also the perfect size for one person, so bring an acquaintance or two to this charming sit-down spot and get an assortment. There are a few classic options (cheese and pepperoni), as well some more involved versions with ingredients like labne, gorgonzola, and preserved lemon. Try the Spicy pie with sausage and salami, pair it with a big well-dressed salad, and get a glass of wine while you're at it. The little dining room—with its retro music and checkered floors—is a great place to hang out for an hour or two with a friend or a date." - Bryan Kim, Neha Talreja, Kenny Yang

Pizzeria Panina - Review - Ridgewood - New York - The Infatuation

"Pizzeria Panina is an aggressively likable place, and it’s where you’ll find some of the best pizza in Ridgewood. The small dining room—which tends to stay packed—has checkered floors, soft lighting, and a bay-window nook to sit in up front. If there’s a wait, the manager might pour you a complimentary glass of wine to sip on while you listen to a retro soundtrack and smell the fresh espresso being made behind the bar. Come with one other person, and order a few of the personal-sized pizzas to split. Panina’s crust is bouncy, charred, and wafer-thin, and we’re partial to the Spicy pie with sausage, salami, and honey. For the best results, get a big well-dressed salad and a glass of wine or a cocktail to go along with your pizza. If you’re solo, eat at the bar and see if you can spot all the mouse figurines stashed around the space. (The manager is “a big fan of Disney.”) There are also a few tables on the little sidewalk patio right outside the front door, and you should bring a date and claim a couple of those seats when the weather’s nice." - Bryan Kim

This is the cutest little pizzeria spot with some of the most delicious pizza I’ve had in NYC! The service was great, and the entire staff were so friendly, kind and attentive! This was my first visit and my faves were the Caesar salad and Quesos pie 🤤. The cocktail menu was on point too. I’ll definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Panina Pizzeria, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my entire visit, making me feel like a valued guest. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza! The pizzas at Panina Pizzeria are undoubtedly top-notch. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. Great location and charming restaurant a must visit!

Google
Came to pizzeria panina for the third time. Ordered the kale radicchio caesar salad and unfortunately the kale was tough and not cared for (dry). Our server Sarah accommodated completely after we shared our concerns. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. You’ll always be treated with respect here! And the pizza is great

The pizza is amazing. The crispy texture of the pizza and the flavors are both well done. I love the one with spice paste. The spice itself are the right spicy level that comes with the quality ingredients. Love it. The dessert is yummy. Love it as well.

Really cute pizza shop on the corner. So cozy inside. Great Neapolitan pizzas that make your close your eyes and savor. I love the spicy one. Sometimes the staff seems a little cool/quiet, but the pizza makes up for it. I’ve returned at least a half dozen times.

Ok so where do I begin? I guess with the most amazing, delicious olives I have ever had in my entire life. They were served in an orange infused brine and tasted like Italy in a cup. The Italian rose (rosato) was absolutely marvelous and had a wonderful taste to it - in a away the equivalent of a delicious, tart juice. We ordered the regular pie as well as the pie with anchovies and were not disappointed. The dough is just so wonderful, fluffy and tasty. Plus somehow the sourdough does not give you the pizza baby-belly! And the service - absolutely phenomenal, Sierra was so friendly and attentive. To top it off- because it is our 12 year anniversary we were treated to a lemon oil cake and an Amaro 🩷 thank you for the extraordinary dining experience, we will 100% be back very soon! And I like to take bathroom pics so here you go! 👌🏻

Google
A serendipitous local find after a friend’s flight was canceled and our first choice to eat didn’t work out. The pizza and service were both top notch, the specials were delicious and the pizza dough perfect. The staff was engaging and Patrick introduced himself by commenting on the joy of my sister’s Christmas sweater. We’ll be back!

Yelp
Panina is without a doubt among my top 3 favorite NYC restaurants (and I've dined at many). Everything is so well curated and the staff is always such a delight (calm, patient, polite, engaging). The inside is so intimate and cozy, while the outdoor space offers a beautiful patio, open all year round (which is very much appreciated). The prices are reasonable and the quality is BEYOND amazing - there's a lot of pizza to be had in NYC but there artisanal sourdough pizzas are truly some of the best that NYC has to offer. I often stalk their Instagram to see what's in store for their weekly specials; for example, just the other night I had the MOST delectable gorgonzola stuffed ravioli that I will be dreaming about for months (did I mention their pastas are also to die for)? Thank you for being such a delightful neighborhood staple Panina, we love you, never change!

Yelp
My friend made reservations for my birthday. Day of, we got there a little early before our reservation time and our table wasn't quiet ready so we sat at the bar for a drink. It's a cute place! Would come for a date night or a fun dinner with a friend. After a few minutes, we got our table and our server gave us some menus and let us know the specials. We ordered the kale salad and 2 pizzas. The salad was really good! We got the Classica and the Spicy and both were really delicious! The spicy was my favorite for sure. Will return for a date night!

Yelp
The server Sarah was so friendly. Kids friendly. Loved antipasto and the Rose! Id love to eat that combination every day if I could.

Yelp
I've been eyeballing this restaurant for over a year on my morning walks. Counting the days for it's official opening. The other day I spotted some peeps but it was round two of the apocalypse. I started my staycation last Wednesday night and I knew I wanted to start on the right foot. Hellllllo Pizzeria Panina. Of course I walk in with my roommate and a booth is filled with familiar faces, my neighbor and our two friends were already moving on to the digestiv and tiramisu portion of the dinner. Lucky! We found the last two available spots at the bar. The bartender was always attentive, funny and sweet. My favorite mixture. The ovens were set at 666 degrees! The staff had a flow of cranking out delicious food and potent cocktails. We started with the Bianca with labneh, olives, arugula and rpeserved lemons. And balanced with a classic, "Classica" mozz, tomato sauce and basil. It was the perfect introduction to the pies. They were both full of flavor. If you can nail an experimental flavor and a classic, it's a sign that you know what you are doing. I have to return for the "Forest", that is jam packed with mushrooms. The cocktails list has variations of Negronis, one with Cynar, and some mezcal mixtures. I went for the "Spaghetti Western". A perfect addition to my pizza. I moved onto some wine and wrapped the meal up with some fernet. Sadly we did not split the tiramisu. I see a lot more visits in my future. it's no surprise this business is related to Sweetwater and Bakeri. Two absolute faves. The decor was also stunning and detailed. Sticking in theme of looking good and tasting good. Also giant shout out to the music, ranging from the Gun Club to Rayito Colombiano and the Replacements. I fully enjoyed the eclectic mix. Welcome to the neighborhood Pizzeria Panina!

Yelp
Please don't advertise your espresso martini as fresh espresso and describe it as such when explicitly asked. I am well aware many places pre batch espresso in the AM or day before but it tastes completely different than an actual fresh espresso shot in the cocktail. It's very misleading and annoying. Also bartender never asked if liked drink, pet peeve.

Yelp
Pizza style is somewhere between L'Industrie in Williamsburg and New Park in Howard Beach. It's a Neapolitan pie but cooked in a gas oven. Crust is quite crispy with a prominent char. We shared the classic pie and one of the daily special pies. The cheese was a blend similar to what you'll find a corner pizzerias. There were a couple plops of mozzarella. The specialty pie has zucchini, mushrooms, ricotta, and probably a bunch of other stuff that I'm forgetting. I generously covered both in their chili oil. It reminded me a bit of harissa and Thai chili oil. It was quite rich with a balanced level of spiciness. Hit my nasals at just the right intensity. For starters, we shared some focaccia as well as another daily special - burrata over asparagus. My wife was in love with the burrata dish; though, to be honest, she'd probably marry burrata if she could. My wife also had a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. It disappeared quickly so I must assume it was good. Service was friendly and attentive. They have one spacious, gender neutral restroom which was quite comfortable. Seemed like they had a nice espresso machine. They also had a very fancy water machine for filtering and carbonating water.

Yelp
The perfect spot! Close Beautiful Great cocktails Friendly service EXCELLENT food! A couple blocks from where my partner lives, it's hard not to want to come here every night. The Spaghetti Western is the actual greatest cocktail. All the bartenders and servers are so nice. Inside is cozy and stylish with flattering lighting. It's always packed but the acoustics are great so you can still have a conversation. Every salad and pizza I've had has been delicious--always try the special--and the hot chili should be on top of everything!

Yelp
Awesome food, folks + a beautiful space. I came in yesterday and ordered a Classica pizza and a Forest pizza (first time I've ever seen dill on a pizza, but so good I came back again 24 hours later and had exactly the same thing.) For pizza/cook/tech nerds, they're running *electric* ovens -- pushing 700 degrees -- with spectacular results. Super nice owner + team and I'm so happy to have them in the neighborhood.

Yelp
An intimate, cozy, romantic vibe, Pizzeria Panina is a newer Ridgewood favorite. A great date night spot, a place to catch up with friends, a place to take your family who are visiting, Panina is a comfortable and delicious option for everyone. Everyone who works there is very nice and attentive. I truly love the bar as well as being able to see the pizza dough being tossed in the air from my seat. I have tried quite a few pizzas from Panina, each one just as good, if not better than the last. There are vegan pie options on the menu, like the Broccoli Rabe pie pictured in my photo on the bottom, and speciality pies that change often. While you are there, be sure to get a cocktail from the bar, or a order a Pilsner that they have on draft - it is always so crisp and a must for me to order. All in all, one of my favorite spots in Ridgewood!

Yelp
It's easier to get a table here than it is at Ops. The pizza and wine are similar but maybe not quite as good but that's ok, it's still a nice experience. It's a "neighborhood standby" kind of place. Dependable.

Yelp
This is the best pizza place in Ridgewood, NY! They have it all, starting with a lovely ambiance, polite and friendly staff, and, most important of all, the food is always fresh and handmade.

Mark C.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant! Amazing vibe, great service, delicious food and drinks. The staff is also so kind.

Yelp
They served me a pizza that was charred. I showed it to the waiter who served me, his reaction was that everything was fine. And I asked them to show it to the cook, but they ignored me. Very rude staff

Yelp
Incredible vibe. This is not just a pizzeria. It's a place to hang out with friends. Bring your date here!!! He/she will love it

Yelp
This place is awesome for the neighborhood! It's like the Ops of Ridgewood. Great ambience, service and of course food! If you're looking for a more traditional Italian style pizza and want to sit and relax in a hip spot look no further and check them out. Cocktails and apps are also all delicious!

Yelp
Definitely in the upper echelon of NY pizza - maybe not DiFara but I'll take it over Grimaldi's, Lombardi's and Roberta's.
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Good food and a beautiful space, but the service is pretty intense. Felt like someone was trying to clear our plates every 10-15 minutes, even when we were pretty visibly still eating. For parents of little ones - they don't have high chairs (or didn't when I went) and don't offer takeout (or didn't when I went). Excited to see what they become as they settle into the neighborhood!

Yelp
Some epic pizza here. Great vibes. The drinks are fantastic too. Very good addition to a block that already had great restaurants and bars.

Yelp
Food: Amazing Drinks: Amazing Some of the best staff EVER. Owner Patrick and his hand picked crew are all fantastic, they treat me like a king every-time I dine here. The pizza is amazing, and so are the salads and starters, and especially the desserts. Never disappoints, I'll be back again soon!
