Local Chain Pizzeria Paradiso Preps for Its Biggest Location Yet - Eater DC

"Pizzeria Paradiso’s biggest location to date is expected to arrive in Spring Valley later this month, bringing the neighborhood near American University a new source for wood-fired pies with a side of arcade games. The District’s homegrown pizzeria is shooting to open its fifth area location at 4850 Massachusetts Avenue NW by late November, a rep tells Eater. Its Neapolitan-style pizzas will naturally be the focal point, along with its brand-wide lineup of salads and appetizers. Local beers picked by beverage director Drew McCormick will fill up 14 draft lines. A spacious dining room, being built from scratch, will be stocked with two pinball machines and a custom mural by artist and Stillwater Brewery label designer Mike Van Hall. Once warm weather returns, the location will grow even more with the addition of a 60-seat patio and outdoor drink rail next year. Chef-owner Ruth Gresser refreshed a long-standing Georgetown location last month by turning its basement into a game-filled bar. The seasoned restaurateur branched out to Maryland last summer, opening her first Pizzeria Paradiso in the state in neighboring Hyattsville." - Tierney Plumb

Had a very disappointing experience at Pizzeria Paradiso this weekend. The food was good enough - standard, I would say for when you’re in the mood for pizza. But the service left much to be desired. We sat at the bar and things started out fine. But after our food came, no one ever came to check to see how things were. Still, though, that isn’t egregious enough for a 1 ⭐️ service review. It was 8:50 when we asked for a sample of another wine to decide on another bottle to order. The bartender looked at his watch, said nothing, and pulled up three glasses. The watch glance was a bit jarring so we asked if they were closing soon as other patrons next to us had just ordered and received food and drinks at the bar. The bartender literally said "yep" without looking at us. Needless to say, we said never mind we’ll leave. Again, he said nothing and gave us our check. Never said "thanks," "have a good night," whatever. If a 20% service fee weren’t included on the check already, we would not have given that much. I won’t be going back.

As a first time stop by at the pizzeria paradiso I was welcomed very nicely I just have a question wy a margarita pizza 12 inch to go cost 31.35 dollars I think is extremely overpriced for the take out

The pizza is nice. The salad dressing is a destination food item for some people. The restaurant has an outdoor patio area. Solid place for food. Ice cream sandwich was good.

Super pricey for a pizza joint. I mean, don’t get me wrong, ‘za was on point!! SUPER delicious! However, we got buffalo wings as app, they were chewy, sauce tasted sour-ish, wouldn’t recommend. Great beer selection. And once again, pizza was great, but idk if I’d pay that price again for them.

Google
Not as good as the old Dupont Circle mainstay, this branch serves well as a reasonable facsimile—just not as much fun. I had a salad and was disappointed bread was not served with it, but came with a. Extra charge.

Have you tried Pizzeria Paradiso yet? I was excited to go to this place for DC Veg Restaurant Week after so many of my friends had spoken really highly of it. They are super vegan friendly—with delicious Follow Your Heart cheese that can be used to turn most pizzas vegan and friendly to those who cannot tolerate dairy. I was surprised to find that not only do they offer whole wheat crust, it was so good I actually preferred it to the standard. Plus, they have vegan desserts! Tony, the general manager, was super good to us, and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Their back room was a great space, working well for our group of about a dozen people with a lot of ventilation. Don’t miss this great spot for vegan pizza!

I took my granddaughters here to have a pizza lunch. Food is great! It's a little expensive, but very high quality. It's a nice restaurant to have a meal.

Google
I was so pleased with Pizzeria Paradiso! Coming from NYC I wasn’t sure how the pizza would compare, but it was actually so good! I liked the cheese pizza better than the veggie pizza I had, but the veggie was still good (those aren’t the actual names of the pizzas, I just couldn’t remember them). My brother and sister got paninis, and they said they were extremely good! Our service was great, and the restaurant was very clean. I definitely would grab another pizza if I’m ever in the area again!

Yelp
Rotating draft list is awesome during Happy Hour! Wish the deal wasn't at the bar only when there's nice weather -- although the bartenders are friendly and attentive. The wings were good but weren't crispy enough to my liking. However, the Margherita pizza was really good!

Yelp
Came in for lunch midweek right after they opened. There were only a handful of guests at the time. I was seated right away. I've visited almost of all of the other Pizza Paradisos in the DMV and this one was on par with efficient and prompt service. I was surprised at how much seating this location had. They have such great pizzas at paradiso, that I always get them. Today I finally took the leap and got a panini instead of a pizza. I ordered the panini nonna, which is a meatball sandwich. The bread was fresh and soft. The meatballs were nicely flavored and the sandwich had the right amount of sauce and mozzarella. I chose the mixed greens as my side over the chips and I thought the greens were dressed well.

Yelp
Always great food and great service. But what I really like is their check policy - 20% service charge on meals and drinks only (not tax), tips not expected but welcome. We leave extra. I'd be happy if this policy was widely adopted.

Karen M.

Yelp
We are frequent customers at Pizza Paradiso as it is an easy walk from our house and we enjoy the pizza. I like that it is casual and efficient and that there are multiple seating options (patio, indoor, bar). The drink selection covers beer, wine and cocktails and while the menu isn't huge, the quality is consistent and we have our favorites. I also like that it is easy to make a reservation if I am going with a bigger group and/or to ensure that I'll get the seating of my choice when I get there. The staff is friendly and always takes great care of us. A great neighborhood pizza spot founded by an alumna from the same college I attended - Go Grinnell!

Yelp
A nice outpost for the gold standard in Neapolitan pizza in the DC area and a good beer selection. A bit more of a family focus and not quite as great as the original, but hard to complain. I've been going to the DuPont Circle location for decades, but just came here for the first time. It definitely has the same bones: great pizza and a good beer selection. The pizza menu is the same (as far as I can tell) as the original location and the pizza definitely didn't disappoint (we got the Paesana with chicken sausage and ricotta and the atomica with hot pepper flakes and olives). The crust is just a bit crispy, chewy and thin. We easily ate one 12" and one 9" pizza between two of us. So, it's got the same great Neapolitan thing going. I feel like it's not quite as good as the original location though. It was still really good pizza, but not quite the gold standard for the whole area that the original location holds. As far as beer goes, the tap list is also great, but just not quite as great as the DuPont circle location. They had one really stunning IPA from the Veil on tap, but the other taps were less standout. A good mix of local and interesting, but seemed more perfunctory good craft beer than somebody who was really picking beers. The DuPont location usually has 4-6 taps with things I really want to try. This location had 1 I really wanted to try and 3-4 more I could have gotten. Instead since it was a date night out, I tried to order one or two of their rarer sour bottles and they wound up not having the first, and brining out a not-quite-right match for the second, but I kept it anyway and it was really good. It's hard to complain about a Tiquin gueuze. As far as ambiance goes, this place also doesn't quite live up to the original. The exposed brick and lighting of the DuPont location make it actually a pretty good date spot. Instead, this location felt much more family-focused (which means we will be back with the kids), but meant it didn't quite feel very romantic or date-like, which was too bad.

Yelp
Just had a dinner here with my family. We have always liked this place and the food as we live in the neighborhood. But we won't be coming back. We just paid an obscene amount of money for our dinner. What should have been $50 all in was $80. $17 "entree salad" that consisted of spring mix lettuce, onions and tomatoes. GFY. We feel ripped off and I believe they are price gouging hoping customers in spring valley don't care. We do. Buh bye

Yelp
I've been here at least 20 times. Best pizza I've ever eaten hands down. The employees are always very kind and the service is quick. I always order the margherita pizza but my friends have said the other ones are just as delicious (they also said it was the best pizza they've eaten). The tiramisu is also yum. The outdoor and indoor seating are both very nice. Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
This pizzeria has been mentioned in our neighborhood listserv a few times as one of the "best" places for pizza.  So today when we decided to get takeout we remembered it and ordered directly for pickup.  The website for online orders works pretty well, and you can customize you order with one of three choices of crusts, and furthermore, you can also choose two toppings, half each on one pie.  We had pepperoni on one half and spinach and mushroom on the other. The crust is quite thin and crispy, more like a flatbread, toppings are tasty but on the dry side - I generally prefer dryer toppings but this is a bit too dry even for me.  Also it was over $20 before tax for a 12 inch so quite pricy. Pick up was easy - they have a table set up by the window facing out so no need to go into the restaurant which was not big.  Although parking on the one way narrow service lane in front is tight - there is parking on both sides leaving barely one car width in the middle to drive through, also due to the space constraint pretty impossible to parallel park unless the space across from you is empty or you have a two car length space on your side to maneuver.

Yelp
Stopped in for a libation when visiting a nearby art gallery. Decided to be adventurous and try the pumpkin blend cider. It was in a can and I could not taste it ahead of time. It was delicious!! It was a blend of apples, pumpkin, and chai spices. W My friend and I split the 5 cheese pizza with an extra topping of raw arugula on whole wheat crust. The topping amount was generous. The arugula was fresh too. The cheese were not homogenous so some bites tasted different which added to the flavor experience. The crust was perfect! Service was really good. Covid protocols were followed.

Yelp
My wife and I just ordered take out from here. We've dined in before and recall the pizza as being good. Maybe it's a different kitchen for DoorDash than the restaurant but this may very well be the worst pizza I've ever had (and I've had some bad pizza). Crust tasted like flour with a side of tasteless. The salami on the Atómica (also ordered the Siciliana) tasted like it had been braised with cleaning agent and the wings were meaty but soggy and mealy. Absolutely devoid of flavor at best and resembling canine kibble at worst. It was surprising given our dine in experience. At the very least, the worst take out we've had. Threw most of it away.

Yelp
I ate there last Sunday (03/17/24) and the service and food were below par. Our waitress was nice, but slow arriving, and then after taking our order she disappeared (although the drinks came quickly). Once the appetizers were served, she was very slow in removing used plates (from the appetizers) from the table - as in only after we stacked them and then placed them on another table did a different server come by to take them. We ordered four pizzas, but a snafu in the kitchen caused the waitress to come out 30 minutes after we sat down to tell us there was a mistake and it would be a while for our food to arrive (about 20-30 minutes). The waitress did reduce the check by about $10. First, the appetizers were not good. The Polpette (meatballs) were hard and the sauce mediocre. The Garlic Bread was burned and tasted like it came from a tube at the grocery store. After the long wait, the pizza arrived. The pizza was bad. The Eggplant pizza's plate was full of a watery sauce, the two margarita pepperoni pizzas and one plain margarita pizza toppings were meh at best, and the Atomica pizza was ok. The consistent problem was the crust. I couldn't tell if it was a reheated DiGiorno crust or actually made at some point in-house. It was flat and tasteless. When compared to other artisanal pizzerias (2Amys) the crust really disappointed. The drinks were better, a good beer selection and the wine list was okay - the negative was that the drinks were expensive for what you received. I guess that sums up the entire meal - $171 - after discount - for meatballs, garlic bread, 4 9" pizzas, 2 beers, and 2 wines - about $17 per item - that just doesn't represent a good price for anything that was received or the lackluster service provided.

Yelp
Great personal pizzas for 20 bucks, ordered for takeout and staff was nice and quick. Ready to go in 10 minutes.

Yelp
Main thing to note: instead of simply paying their staff a living wage, this "pizza" restaurant passes the burden onto you, the paying customer, in the form of a 20% service charge. I have no response to the owners comments about the food. The photo I posted says enough. I should NOT have to ask that a restaurant specifically not ruin the food with copious amounts of oil. As far as finishing my food is concerned: yeah, I didn't want to waste $21 dollars, because, keep in mind, that is how much a small pizza costs after they charge you 20% extra to dine here. The owner asked what my objection is to "paying their staff a living wage". I have no objection to this business practice. In fact, I encourage it. However, if this is a practice you want to engage in, don't pass the burden on to the customer. Generate more revenue by improving your menu and business practices. Tacking on a mandatory 20% service charge is a pathetic way to "ensure a living wage". How about you run a decent restaurant? If this place served halfway decent food and had an owner that understood revenue growth, maybe they wouldn't have to rely on charging $21 dollars for a small personal pizza. There are plenty of restaurants that pay their staff a living wage without a mandatory service charge.

Yelp
Really could have been better. I was glad the place was empty so we could talk quietly. Looks like a good place if you like to drink lots of expensive booze. This close to Bethesda, you can't have food that ordinary. I mean, actually, that they are TRYING to be gourmet and new-style (vegan, organic, etc.) and they DO NOT get it. They probably lost their head chef. Restaurants are suffering so much these days, so I told them about the bad food but paid anyway - and they tacked on an automatic TIP to the bill. I'm a good tipper, so they lost out this time LOL. Staff was friendly but I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Food and people here really deliver. My favorite is the miniera which is three toppings of your choice. Mine are always sundries tomatoes, roasted eggplant and roasted garlic but there are lots of yummy options! The crust is so good! The staff here are friendly and offer good suggestions for wine pairings. There's also a stellar selection of local beers on tap. They have a nice patio and a cheery bar. The paradiso salad is also tops! Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Leisurely meal at an accessible location in a tucked away business center in NW DC. The staff were super friendly, checked in on us regularly, and kept the wine glasses filled. The pizzas were solid. They weren't the best I've ever had, but the ingredients were clearly freshly sourced, and the flavor profile of the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Pizza Special was good. The chicken was a bit dry, but to be fair, I don't know if I should have expected something different from "jerk chicken." Made a same day reservation that was honored immediately upon our arrival. Tables were still distanced, staff consistently wore masks, and capacity seemed to be controlled.

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood pizzeria for the whole family. Most importantly, the pizza is tasty. The smaller size is good for one, the larger is good to share. For the grownups there is a long bar where we tasted some of the micro brews while we waited for our table on a Saturday night. The kids were either running around outside in the space between the restaurant, Starbucks and Crate & Barrel or they were playing arcade style video games for 50c a game. Reminded me of the pizza places when I grew up that all had a pinball machine. And Pac-Man. And Asteroids. But that's another review! :-) We will be back for sure.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
We had a really poor experience here. We had a large group of 8 including four small children, so we made a reservation ... but when we got there, the staff informed us they had reserved out most of the restaurant for a private party. But the place was deserted (it's 5:30pm). So, they tried to assemble a series of high tops outside for us. This didn't work for a variety of reasons including that it started raining on us. So we moved ourselves to a few empty tables under cover... no help, not a word from the staff. Halfway through our pizza they brought the check and reminded us that the party would be starting soon, so we better hurry up ... I guess they really didn't like our vibe. It's tough eating out with kids which is why we went early, you would think a restaurant like this would be more understanding and accommodating.

Alex G.

Yelp
Pizza is dry & not good. 20% extra charge on all orders. For a place that only sells pizza, they don't make it well - it's dry, fairly tasteless, though expensive. When you get your bill you discover that there is an extra 20% charge added to all orders (aside from tip). If you want to increase your prices, do it in the price - don't pretend like it's something else. Anyway, it's a minimum of $30/person for subpar pizza. Pretty sure frozen pizza beats this one hands down. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is that the staff was nice. Not coming back here and don't recommend that you go either.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing. My family and I ordered a large cheese pizza with the addition of pepperoni on half for pickup. It came out to $25 ($21 plus tip). While we recognize that taking pizza to go can affect the experience, we live very close by so the pizza was still piping hot by the time we got home to eat. For a large it is not a particularly big pizza. 12-inches, fit for two I would say. Also, despite asking for ample pepperoni, there was roughly two to three pieces per slice. (Noticeably sparse so yes, we counted.) The menu seems designed similar to a gourmet pizza restaurant but the flavoring for each component of our straightforward cheese pizza was bland and uninspiring--doughy crust lacking crisp, haphazardly scattered flavorless cheese and just completely lacking in sauce. When we got home we needed to add salt and pepper flakes just to make it more palatable (atypical for us--usually we stick to the unadulterated pie). Overall, we thought this was quite overpriced and overhyped for what we received. The two stars I gave it were due to the fact that service was friendly (although they couldn't find our pizza for several minutes) and the pizza was hot when we picked it up.
google avatar

Grover B.

Yelp
On the plus side, service was quick, however the quality was no better than what one could purchase at Whole Foods and the price was double. Not worth the effort
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service, perfect venue for our family of 11 with an age range of two to 84.

Neda A.

Yelp
The only positive: pizza isn't bad Very loud Long wait for the food to come out (over an hour), But they are quick to clean up. I asked for the desert menu and as the waitress handed me the desert, she took away my plate w the pizza I was still working on.. Took my daughter to the bathroom and her half eaten push pop on the plate was cleared by the time we returned. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
We came here on a weeknight and they were able to seat the two of us immediately. I have been to another Pizzeria Paradiso and I actually very much preferred the atmosphere at this one. The tables weren't as squished together and there is kids artwork on the walls. They make their own gluten-free pizza crust here (which I very much appreciate) BUT it is not very good. It smells strongly of whatever flour they are using. It bothers me enough that I'm not sure I will return, simply because there are better options available. That being said, we had a good experience and I do appreciate that I can eat here if my friends want to go!

Yelp
We went on a weekday after the lunch rush and it was nice and quiet. The olives they brought out to snack on while we browsed the menu were delicious. We ordered an arugula citrus salad that was tasty but could use a little more seasoning or maybe a diced up orange in it to bring out the actual citrus flavor of the vinagrette. It was kind of bland but fresh and the goat cheese helps. We ordered a few Margherita Pizzas and a Pepperoni Pizza. All were good. The crust was thin and crunchy but still a little chewy. We tend to like a little thicker crust but this was good. The pepperoni were far and few in between so make sure you tell them if you want more than 6 pieces on a whole pie. Nothing was outstanding but it was definitely good and we will go back and give it a second try. If you are in the area it's worth a stop if you are hungry and enjoy different types of pizza.
google avatar

Max B.

Yelp
This is a great pizza place. Normally not extremely busy on the weeknights so you can go walk in and get a table. The pizzas and the salads are always very good and fresh. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Their COVID protocols are great. Masks required, enforced distancing, QR code menus, contact tracing, and staff wear gloves. All in all this is a great spot.

Yelp
I typically only spend time in Spring Valley for my job which is across the street from this location but I had a small event here and it worked out great. We usually have Pizzeria Paradiso at their other locations. My spouse and I were married last year and we had to cancel our reception. This spring we were able to have a small event with family outside of DC but we still wanted some way to celebrate in DC with friends. With our yard in Ward 7 being cicada central we could not have it there. We had a lovely pizza party for 12 on the patio of this Pizzeria Paradiso location on a Saturday afternoon and it was wonderful. Although all adult guests were vaccinated we still wanted an outdoor event with full patio cover. Planning with the manager was easy and a dedicated server staffed our lunch. We ordered appetizers and desserts in advance. The appetizers were brought to the table for everyone to share before they arrived. Guests ordered their own pizzas and drinks (beer, wine, soda, coffee) at the event. There was a minimum which we easily met with 12 people. The patio on the side is quiet so everyone could talk, the bathrooms inside are nearby, and the food is delicious. Two guests were gluten-free and I knew PP had gluten free crust as an option. It really exceeded my expectations. The casual nature made it fun, easy, and stress free. There is also a back room inside that would be good for small events too. Highly recommended for casual parties.

Yelp
The pizza was tasty, and well cooked. They had a good variety of pizzas to choose from as well as salads. The pizza came out quickly and the staff was attentive. This was lunch time so expediency is important. We went back today for the 2nd day and this time for takeout. Again, very pleasant attentive staff. We sat at the bar to wait for our orders. We were given glasses of water without asking. My colleagues purchased pizza and I a panini and a side salad. Yummy and fresh, tasty ingredients. Five stars all the way.

Dee M.

Yelp
We hosted a private Happy Hour for our Pickleball Club at Pizzaria Paradiso, Spring Valley ( Mass. Ave. ) yesterday. Tony Hamilton, General Manager, was easy to work with, had everything set up on time and was very flexible when we decided to add extra pizzas during the event. Everyone loved the pizzas and devoured them quickly. Cash bar worked well and we were able to stay a bit longer than planned since no one wanted to leave. I would highly recommend this location for any private event.

Thelma T.

Yelp
We ordered a miniera pizza to go with wheat crust, birreria sauce and three toppings. The wheat crust was extremely tough, tasteless, and burned on the bottom. The birreria sauce was very skimpy and tasteless. The three toppings, chicken sausage, mushrooms (very few), and spinach were good but the base needs lots of improvement.

Yelp
The menu is great. The assortment of beers super. The place is nice, inside and out. Service is included. It is all a bit European flavored, which is more than nice!
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
Overall this location is a miss. The place is never really very busy and id only ever been for takeout. This weekend we attempted to have lunch at the bar here. We ordered two draft beers. Both were 1/3 full of foam, flat tasting and barely cool. It was clear that the taps were dirty or there was something else wrong. The bartender was really inattentive especially given that we were the only two people at the bar. We opted to eat elsewhere due to the service and the beer. We didn't want another beer which is something I can't say I say often when faced with the option.
google avatar

Opie M.

Yelp
They moved the pinball machines to the back of the restaurant, You pay for the pinball machines using your credit card that you add money to it. These are all interesting improvements, Looks like it WOULD kill them to put the style of the beer next to the name.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic food and even better service! Victoria was attentive, helpful, and overall made our dining experience wonderful. Highly recommend this Paradiso location!!!!

Yelp
Not the best pizza not the worst. Friendly staff. Meatballs were great. They did forget my brothers order but fixed it quickly and with a smile.

Yelp
This pizza was disrespectfully bussin. Best pizza I've had in a while. Crust is top tier level, everything was. Great service would definitely come back

Yelp
Happy hour is good, though only on Tues and Wed from 5-7. For happy hour, its $3 off beer and wine, $7 for any appetizer, $12 for any 9" pizza and $18 for any 12" pizza. All in all, I thought it was a good deal! I had the mussels and shrimp appetizer which is really good and Paesana pizza, also good. I don't know if prices are justified without the happy hour prices. The restaurant gets crowded during dinner time though!
google avatar

Chetan A.

Yelp
So let's start with what matters- The FOOD! The pizzas are great. No doubts. This is not a place to go to on a weekend unless you are prepared for a long wait anytime after 630 in the evening. The place is large and has a lot of seating. Parking is street and reasonable. You may have to drive a bit. We had a veg and a non veg pizza both of which were good. It a good place to eat in the Spring Valley Area

Yelp
Pizzería Paradiso is our preferred pizza place in our neighborhood. While we usually order pizza to go, this time we decided to have lunch at the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. We sat in the back room which in the early afternoon is full of light, much appreciated in the winter time. The pizzas and the Paradiso salad were excellent. The pizza crust was also delicious. I will definitely come more often in addition to ordering pizza to go!

This was my first visit since covid and I stopped in for a quick dinner - pizza the 12" was ok but no worth the $23 - what irritated me was I had to teach down my server a couple of times as I was eating indoors and nobody came by my table apart from dropping off my pizza - my water glass was empty and I eventually had to go to the bar to ask for water at which stage ( all kids working there no adult in charge ) then someone from back of house come out and put a carafe of water on my table ans my bill had a 18% gratuity added to the bill - that explains why nobody stopped by the table or seemed to give a dam as they were guaranteed a tip anyway - bad move guys I won't be back for $30+ I couple get better down town

Yelp
The pizza crust is perfect and makes all the difference. Fresh toppings - though I wouldn't have minded more of them. Plenty of outside seating.

Yelp
I just recently had a surprise 50th birthday party for my wife. They have a great back room and patio which was perfect for about 40 people. The food was amazing, and the service was great. All of the servers and other staff were so helpful and friendly.

Yelp
I simply love that they decided to open a location so near to us! My fav over 20 years ago was the P street location and now it's just awesome they have one in Spring Valley/ AU park. since I have a school aged child, I just love this fun, bright, new restaurant so close to home. The staff is so so nice - while I had a short wait at the door and Santiago -The AGM was Taking care of me.. every other server who walked by asked if I was taken care of. True service!! Pizza was superb -I had prosciutto with arugula on mine- my servers recommendation when I asked for help! Love the outdoor seating -and the pinball machines! We needed this place in our hood! Thank you PIzza Paradiso and thank you Santiago and staff!

Yelp
Tried the gluten free pizza crust on a 9 inch Margherita pizza with one added topping. It was the worst pizza I've ever eaten, and costed me a total of $26 with a tip(it's not the poor server's fault it tasted terrible). I really wanted it to be good. I was optimistic and understanding of the fact that gluten free stuff just isn't the same, but it was just exceptionally bad. Tasted like air-fried cardboard with mediocre sauce and cheese on top. Maybe the regular pizza is good, but don't go here for gluten free pizza.

Yelp
This was a great find. The service was great, the pizza excellent. It rivals any of the wood-fired pizza joints in Bethesda. The pizza was remarkably oil-free and coated with just enough sauce (not drowned in it). The wings were probably the some of the best buffalo-style wings I've had in the area - not overly salty or soaked in sauce, but juicy with a nice kick. The only let-down was my wife finding her neatly wrapped fresh cutlery not so fresh, with crusted food remains on her fork. It was apparently important enough for the server to flag to the manager and show him, but we never got so much as an apology from the manager (the server did apologize), nor did he so much as comp a dessert or drink. That's the only reason they missed out on a 5-star review. Hopefully it was an isolated incident - we'll go back for seconds some time, for sure. The pricing was reasonable compared to similar restaurants in Bethesda. I will caution customers that parking is a pain and the lane in front is very tight. Park in the lot in the back or on the street (if you can find space).

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch before leaving DC. Margherita was okay. Nice crust, but sauce was watery. Not a lot of flavor. Not sure what the 20% service fee was about. Then they ask for an additional tip. Service fee for walking a pizza to a table.
