Pizzeria Rustica

Lovely rustic pizza restaurant just along from Richmond train station. I have visited several times and the food has always been fantastic. The pizzas are some of the best outside of central London, lovely crisp bases and quality ingredients. The pasta, especially the pappardelle con funghi, is also very good. The beer selection is lacking but they serve a great negroni. Highly recommended

Absolutely fabulous food, I was really impressed with how well this was cooked, served and tasted - it was one of the best Italian eateries I have been too. And if I am honest I looked around to see where to eat in Richmond and saw many restaurants but I am glad I chose this as it didn't disappoint. Just be aware that during certain hours (mainly 18:00 - 21:00) they do get very busy and I am not surprised the Staff are super friendly and the service the same. The actual setting is great, 2 floors squeezed into a small but cosy rustic building and I couldn't of been happier. Have a look at their website (and also my pictures) and see for yourself. My advice book a table and go, I am sure you will love it as I (and my Wife) did. We will be back soon.

We had the best experience here today! The food, drinks and customer service were fantastic! The pizzas were great quality, flavoursome and tasty! The customer service was the best we've ever had in a restaurant. Thank you for making our visit so special and making our little girl smile and giggle so much! Excellent service with a local and family-owned* feel. Rustica offers reasonably priced stone baked pizzas, selection of wines, and antipasti. I didn't try any pasta or rissoto dishes. I visited with a group and we all had different pizzas. Did the food excite me to discover more? Not really however the food is good quality 👌 *not claiming the restaurant is family-owned, this is based on a feeling of the atmosphere and service.

We visited on a Thursday night, after a long walk at Kew Gardens. What a lovely experience we had! We were promptly accommodated and the place immediately felt homely and cosy! We ordered some mixed aromatic olives for starter, with a perfectly well-balanced Aperol Spritz! We then proceeded with ordering pizzas. I had the Burrata version, which was an absolute dream! The mozzarella on top was so creamy and tasty! The Parma ham made it even more special! Great prices too! Service was quick and staff friendly & smiling! Absolutely recommended and I will certainly be back when around the Richmond area!

I have been tonight with my girlfriend for a pre theater dinner and i was really impressed by the pizza quality. Also the service was fast and staff realky nice. If you are looking for a nice Italian restaurant so you should try this one with no hesitation.

Great food and nice restaurant. Loads of tables downstairs upstairs and out the back. Staff were very freindly and passionate but maybe not to everyone...

Nice feel to the place and very tasty pizza. Only complaint I have is I had a pizza which was described on the menu as having mozzarella and buffalo separately, I therefore assumed that it would have actual buffalo meat but it did turn out to be buffalo mozzarella which was a bit misleading. But well worth a visit nonetheless.

I've tried lots of pizza places in the past but this place is seriously amazing. The staff are also really friendly and helpful. I'd recommend to anyone who's craving pizza.

PROS - Quick friendly service for dinner on a weekday, even without reservations! Displays all the pizzas that has received awards at storefront, so it is easier to make a choice when seated. We (group of three) got the Piggy, Carpricciosa (the pizza with the egg on top) and a Chorizo Risotto. I thought the Piggy was better than the Carpricciosa (more flavor and more grease - which I love). The Chorizo Risotto that my friend ordered (Hi Sarah!) was enchanting, I see myself ordering this dish again. Maybe next time I will tell them I like a thicker crust -- these pizzas are super thin and crispy (so if you dig that style, you will love it). CONS - None. I left my scarf here and halfway walking home realized this. Went back there and they were holding it for me. Great service! Thank you.

My mum and I ate at Pizzeria Rustica after running the Richmond Half Marathon - we were absolutely starving and almost everywhere else was booked, so this was very much a last minute choice. We were there for a reasonably early lunch on a Sunday, so the restaurant started off fairly quiet but steadily filled with couples and families. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious - authentic, hand made pizzas with simple toppings at decent prices. We were very pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our meal. I really recommend this place and will definitely go back if I return to the area.

This place beats your Pizza Expresses of the world any day. Delicious, crispy-thin-crust pizzas bursting with flavour. I popped in between some post-Christmas shopping (aka exchanging Christmas gifts) with my mum, and between us we shared an American Hot Pizza and a Caesar Salad. With that along with 2 Diet Cokes it came to around £24. Not bad considering the quality of our lunch! The pizza was huge with a fresh, thin base and perfect toppings, the salad was topped with tender, juicy chunks of chicken, romaine lettuce, fresh Parmesan and crispy, crunchy rashers of bacon. The staff were friendly and attentive. Super tasty place for a quick lunch or even a romantic meal.

After walking by this place for a couple of years we decided to try it for lunch. It was ok but not good enough to warrant a return visit. My dining partner had the pollo risotto which sounded nice with fiarelli (wild broccoli) chicken and Gorgonzola as highlights. What arrived was a watery and super bland white mush. Disappointing. The antipasto for 2 was good (it better be for £16) and I had the mushroom and ham pizza and it was decent. £56 poorer (we also had three bottle of beer at 4.50 each) we walked away with no desire to ever go back.

I eat a lot of pizza. Probably more than I should consume regularly but hey it makes me happy. I had a gig out in Richmond and wanted a quick bite to eat beforehand and look around Yelp for a place nearby. I had to try the award winning - Buffalo which was parma ham, marinated tomatoes buffalo mozzarella because its normally one of my favorite things to get. It was a little tough cutting myself a slice with a fork and knife and gave up and just started pulling it apart with my heads instead. I liked that it was crusty like a cracker but it felt a bit bland. The parma ham was cut a bit too think so it was better for me to pull it all off, eat it kind of like a starter and finish the pizza afterwards as it was tough to bite through. Like some of the other reviews - there was no wow factor. It was alright but when you compare to other pizzerias in London, I just didn't find anything special.

This is my first visit to Pizzeria Rustica, which I found as I wandered through Richmond. The service is very good and the food is excellent. Aside from a varied menu, watch out for the specials that change all the time. What I've eaten was superb and I will definitely be back again. This would Make a great pre/post theatre dining experience as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Judging from appearances alone, this place deserves high marks. It's 'cosy' (another word for small) but it doesn't detract from the experience except when there's no seating available! It's steps away from Richmond Station which is convenient. The staff were friendly and prompt, another added bonus. It's true it's good value for money! I got a zingara - mozzarella, tomato spinach perperoni sausages and black olives - pizza for £8 and some change, and only managed to eat half of it in one sitting. All of their pizzas are stone baked, so a definite plus. But to be honest, there wasn't anything that really gave me a 'WOW this is amazing!' kind of feeling. It was good pizza, no doubt, but I just wanted it to be kicked up a notch. My only gripe is the big sign out front saying 'Best Pizza 2005 / 2007'. Hey that's great, but it's now 2009, so 2 years just seems a little out dated for me, especially for a restaurant.

This place has more awards on its walls than any pizzeria I've ever been to! Does that mean it's the best pizza I've ever had? Well no, but It wasn't bad and I actually really like the menu and more. The crust was thin and crunchy, and the ingredients were fresh. The staff was not super knowledgeable about their wines or after dinner drinks, but overall they were helpful. I like the place, and I would recommend it, but I'm still looking for a fantastic, blow-your-mind pizza experience outside of America. Hasn't happened yet. :(

We've been here a couple of times, both times because it's the first restaurant you come across out of the station in the direction of the main shopping area. Both times we've promised ourselves to come back more deliberately. Very large (and filling) portions, which is very common with Italian, and the waiter was always on hand with offers of additional drinks and to ask whether our meal was OK. The ambience is also to my liking, with a Tuscan feel to it. It looks crowded from outside, but is not too bad once you're seated.

We arrived at this quaint little pizzeria completely famished and ready for great meal. As we were dining at a strange time, round 3pm, the restaurant was completely empty. However, the feeling of the restaurant was quite lovely and romantic as we dined right next to a large window overlooking the busy street. For our appetiser we shared a mixed seafood platter, which seemed delicious on the menu. However when they brought it to the table, I was disappointed to see that the squid, mussels, and shrimp were breaded. I think that the dish would have been much more flavourful and delicious without the fried breading covering it. For our mains, I enjoyed a mixed vegetable salad with warm goats cheese, which was quite good. But to be honest, the salad seemed to have more cheese on it than vegetables. Don't get me wrong, the goats cheese was incredible, but I wished there had been more salad and a little less cheese, otherwise the dish was great. My man enjoyed the 2005 pizza, which had supposedly won an award that for that year. It was perfect for him as he is lactose intolerant and it had no cheese. Instead it was covered in a tasty marinara sauce, fish, calamari (not breaded, and delicious might I add) and shrimp. He thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, wolfing it down in one go. I tried the seafood on it as well and it was delectable. When we ended our meal with our usual espressos and were pleased to see that they gave us complementary biscotti, which were absolute perfection with the coffee. Good service and good food all in all. Prices were reasonable as well, as the bill only came up to about 27 quid for everything.

"Best Pizza 2005- 2007" in big letters on the door. Came with great recommendations, so we were pretty excited to visit. Although it was a sat eve and we had no booking, they were very accommodating and sat us down straight away. We had a great variety of pizza and starters- the melanzane parmagianna was delicious as well as the goat cheese crostini. Our variety of pizzas were good, if not a little soggy in the middle, which I find pretty common in Italian Pizzarias- not sure if it is supposed to be like that. If the only complaint we had was that the margarita did not have enough basil on it (and this was from an American!), I think we are pretty much saying the pizzas are good. As I had injured my hands, I had to ask them to slice my pizza up for me, which they happily obliged along with getting jugs of tap water, chilli oils and one million and 1 things we asked for. Very very good pizza, but not as good as the place in Maida Vale (which obviously I insist on going again before I write my review!). Will definitely go again if I am in the area.

Pretty good garlic bread, delicious wines, and a pretty darn good pizza by american standards. The server was pretty tough to understand through his italian accent, but the service was not worse off for it. I enjoyed the restaurant, and the free wi-fi from McDonalds as well. I got the American Hot, or the jalapeno/pepperoni pizza and it was alright. I can't say any of the entrees that I saw around the table looked Michelin quality, but thats why I came here. For a quaint, cozy meal where I knew what I was getting. Good grub and wine.

Pleasantly surprised!!! A friend and I went for dinner here a few weeks ago. I've been consistently disappointed or not impressed by pizza places in London but Pizzeria Rustica was a refreshing change to that. The pizzas were fresh, extremely thin crust (I love that - I want to taste the toppings and not the dough!) and well made. They were also big enough that after splitting fried calamari and bread with olive oil for starters we both ended up taking half our pizza home (and I can eat A LOT of pizza). The service was friendly and the place is easy to get to as it's right by Richmond station. It's not very big but if you make a reservation you'll be fine. I would definitely come here again!

Really amazing Italian food and pizza! I had the Pizza 2007 and shared a bruchetta with my boyfriend! My pizza had rocket, prosciutto, Parmesan cheese and a thin crispy pizza base! This place serves very traditional Italian styled cuisine. All of the ingredients were very fresh! Not packet or ready made ingredients! Our bruschetta was sweet and had very crispy bread - it was very good! This isn't your average pizza joint! I would definitely recommend this place if you don't mind blowing your budget!

Food was definitely tasty, but service was okay. Pizza was really good. Conveniently located by train station if you are looking for something to eat before heading over to Richmond park.

Great fresh italian. Pizzas, pastas it's all good. I have to say I have had a few ordinary meals here but also have had some of the best italian food I've had in my life (and I should say I am half Italian so that's no small compliment). I've been half dozen times or so. Not sure whether it is different chefs or what it is but even on an off night they are still good. You should book as they have a good reputation and are often booked out.

I must say that altough it does not seem like much when you first see it, the pizza is absolutely delicious. I have lived in Naples and nothing comes close to it, but apart from Naples this is the best Pizza away from there. Probably the best pizza I have eaten in London. Like I said the decor and wine list might not be first class, but nothing compares to that pizza. Love it!

Seriously delicious artisan pizza on the way to Richmond Park. Don't expect fine dining, but this place can't be beat for a quick fuel-up before trekking to Richmond Park. You can't go wrong with pie selection here, and the pastas look and smell amazing (though we stuck to pizza at our table).

Excellent place! Pizza was very tasty. I had the Zingara (mozzarella, tomato, spinach, pepperoni & black olives. It was large enough for two, but I was famished & ate it all. LOL

I've been eating here fairly regularly for the last 6 or 7 years and its become a firm favorite for family get-togethers as its close to where my parents live. Last night we were there again for my Dad's birthday and again we were served some of the best pizzas in London by happy, friendly staff. The service here is actually great - they're happy for you to switch the menu around and they're attentive without being obtrusive. The pizza's are great - I always ask for mine to be well done and it comes crisp - not burnt and definitely not soggy! I'm also a big fan of their ice-cream made by a company called Judes which I haven't had anywhere else. It was a great night and if I lived in Richmond I would be in here a lot more!

Excellent pizza, light authentic italian base without the feeling that you have eaten a cannonball halfway. Pretty relaxed service, good for a slow luxurious lunch or dinner.

This is an excellent, good value, and genuinely nice pizza place in the place you would last expect to find one: on Richmond High Street. It's always busy, and the pizza is always excellent, so you can't really go wrong.

A really brilliant pizzeria with authentic wildfire pizzas. Deliciously thin and crisp with top quality toppings, the starters too are delicious. I highly recommend to any pizza lovers as one of the best pizzerias in London

Having returned from several years in Italy I have struggled to find a good Italian pizza in Richmond. This is a pizzeria that I can happily take my Italian friends to with the knowledge that it's just as good as the best pizzerias in Piemonte.

So far the best place to eat in richmond. Food is good and service is good. The downside is the size. It is a little cramped downstairs but we asked to be moved upstairs. The pizza is really good and so are the specials. Price is good so really the downstairs space keeps it from a 5 but ask for the space you need. I will go back!

Good but not exceptional pizza. Genuine homemade deserts. Service insanely fast.

Still looking for a decent typically italian pizza in London. I had high hopes for this place, but alas it was not to be. The crust was thin enough, just enough toppings (not too much, not too little), but unfortunately it was too oily. In fact you could see the oil floating on top! This also made it a bit soggy. Oh well onwards and upwards!

i like authentic italian thin pizza but my pizza was too thin, im pretty sure it had a tear in the base

I've eaten here twice now. My pizza was very good (nice light crust, excellent sauce, toppings and seasoning). The second meal I ate here was an excellent lasagna. My wife's mushroom pappardelle was very good. Friendly Service. Very nice ambiance. This place can be noisy because it is so popular. Great location (1 block from the Richmond tube/rail station).
