Salvo

"Situated opposite the Villa Comunale gardens, this restaurant serves some of the best pizzas in Naples (classic Neapolitan-style pizza which is soft and so big that it spills over the plate) as well as a selection of delicious appetisers, such as superb pasta fritters with various toppings. Welcoming ambience, with a more elegant feel than that of a typical pizzeria." - Michelin Inspector

Where to Eat the Best Pizza in Italy

"I found Fratelli Salvo to be among Italy's best pizzerias, offering pizzas like the Cosacca (cherry tomatoes, pecorino Bagnolese cheese, basil) with excellent dough and exceptional attention to ingredient selection; the overall quality — from raw materials to service — and a wine, beer, and champagne list comparable to a Michelin-starred restaurant make it stand out." - Food & Wine Editors

We tried the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing at Pizzeria Salvo. Was excellent thoughtful selections that complemented each pizza without overpowering it. Service was professional.

Overrated. I’m echoing what others have been saying lately. I'm not an expert in the world of pizza, and maybe it's the type of dough, but I found it very chewy. In my opinion, quite mediocre. We booked a table for 9 PM, and when we arrived, the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait about 15 minutes outside, which I find unprofessional. Then it took another 15 minutes for someone to take our order, so in total, we waited around 30 minutes before we could even order. I think they should focus less on cramming in as many people as possible, and more on making sure each customer has a good experience. The place, at least when we went, was not clean. The plates had leftover grime (possibly from the dishwasher), the corners of the walls were somewhat damaged, and the men’s toilettes were quite dirty. Honestly, at that moment, the place felt more like a fast-food joint than a proper restaurant. I came in with high expectations and ended up having a pretty average experience. I hope things improve, and that this constructive feedback is taken into account

We love this pizzeria. Our second time in Napoli and we went back for our pizza fix. Love their fried pizza with three tomato sauces and arancini. And then pizzas are a perfection.

Food was delicious, service was very attentive, explaining each pizza, the combination of flavours. Is a bit pricey the pizza degustazione!!!

Pizzeria Salvo, nestled along Naples’ picturesque Riviera di Chiaia, stands as a beacon of Neapolitan pizza excellence. Helmed by brothers Francesco and Salvatore Salvo, this establishment seamlessly marries time-honored traditions with contemporary flair, offering patrons an unforgettable culinary experience. Pizzeria Salvo offers an authentic taste of Naples, blending tradition with modernity. Despite minor shortcomings, the exceptional quality of their pizzas makes it a must-visit for both locals and tourists seeking a genuine Neapolitan pizza experience.

Crowed place with many kids was not the best atmosphere tbh BUT big quality of pizzas. The menu has many choices and that the first time that I see a menu dedicated just for margheritas. Overall, a place to come back for good food.

We not only made our own pizza dough and pizza, we also were treated special by the handsome staff.

We were easily able to reserve through their website. There was a lot of space. No long lines. A must for appetizers are the Frittatina cacio e pepe & the Tris di Montanare. Heaven I tell you! The fried dough is so light and not oily at all with the best tomatoes we’ve ever tasted too. The closest I’ll get to Pepe Guido is & the through the NONNA ROSA pizza that they collaborated on. It’s so good. Also the margherita pizza CARAMELLA was one of the best I’ve had. My husband had the DIAVOLA but I personally found it to be to meaty. The tiramisu baba is out of this world. A hit with the kids for sure. The service was very attentive and gave good recos. And the best thing is the price. The value, service, ambiance, quality of food that we get for the price is amazing. The dough is so good. Would recommend again and again. Maybe a little note for improvement is that the toppings can be a bit wet so the pizza falls apart. This is they you can’t eat these pizza by hand.

Yelp
This is the premier pizza place in Napoli. Great ambience and great servers. We did a pizza making class here that was fabulous

Yelp
The Margherita pizza was exceptional. Seemingly simple recipe, but was outstanding. Along with a nice dry red wine, we definitely enjoyed this night out

Yelp
Had fourteen different pizza with our winery tour group, as they put on a pizza dough making exhibition for us. THe pizzas were all exceptional, and our group loved the presentation as well. We went an hour early, before they opened. BY the time we left, the restaurant was full and the was a line outside to get in and for take out pizza. They make 1,000 a day, no more . . . A must try.

Yelp
So we just arrived in Naples, Italy and after checking in to our B&B, we had a quick conversation with Raffaelle, our tour guide for our Pompeii and Herculaneum excursions and asked him about where to go for some awesome pizza. Truth be told he was honest and pretty much told us anywhere in Naples we should be able to get some great pizza and if not to let him know and he would report them to the authorities! LOL! I think it is safe to say that Neapolitans take their pizza very seriously! Anyway, he did end up recommending Pizzeria Salvo to us as he mentioned he goes their quite a bit with his family. Ok, then..... So after we settled in I busted out our City Mapper mobile app (for some reason Google Maps was not working well) and we walked on over to Pizzeria Salvo. They open up around 7:30 PM for dinner so we arrived just as they were almost done setting up and we were seated quickly. Not long after it was a parade of locals arriving and the location was real busy real fast. This is a great sign as you can imagine and as you would suspect from the activity the food was awesome. We ordered a Margarita Pizza with Basil and their Vesuvius appetizer which essentially was some fried macaroni appetizers with the mozzarella cheese. Plenty of options on the menu so should be something her force everyone in the family. Our servers were also very nice but remember everyone this is Italy and patience is a virtue. Dining in Italy tends to be a little slow paced so relax, order some wine, kickback with some good food and take in the experience. Hell, I cranked up a conversation with the folks sitting next to us and made a new friend! Seriously, I think you definitely should visit Pizzeria Salvo as it was overall a very nice experience. Again plenty of places to get good pizza in Naples but this place seems to be among the best. Remember that parking in Naples is a nightmare so I highly recommend you walk, UBER or take a taxi. Wishing you all a great Neapolitan pizza experience at Salvo's! Enjoy and Bon Appétit mes amis!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did a pizza making class here (their first one ever!!) and it was an incredible experience. They hired a translator for us because we are English speakers and even got to go into the kitchen to see how the ingredients are prepped and the pizzas are cooked. It was only €70 for the class, our 2 made pizzas, an appetizer, a glass of wine and ANOTHER pizza. Come hungry!! Definitely recommend the class to pizza loving tourists or just coming in for a meal

Yelp
The best Naples pizza! Don't waste your time going someplace else. Fast service, at least was @9pm.
