Chef Marc Vetri pays homage to his father with this casual eatery serving 12-inch pizzas, salads, and Philly-style slices at lunch.
"Unsurprisingly, Marc Vetri and his squad make great pizza. Partly because the crispy-bottomed, bubbly crusted pies spend a few (hot) minutes in a fancy brick oven from Italy. But also because they're expertly made. In addition to the margherita pizza and some really light meatballs, try the Ode To Sweet Onion Crepe, a decadent combination of roasted sweet onion, white truffle, and parmesan. (It’s an homage to the most beloved dish at Vetri Cucina.) The downside of Salvy? You're eating in the forgotten basement of the Comcast Technology Center, linoleum floors and all. And you'll never forget that fact, no matter how good the pizza and meatballs may be." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"Chef Marc Vetri’s Pizzeria Salvy (named after his beloved father, Sal) is remarkable. The new-ish pizzeria located in the Comcast Technology Center is serving up hot and bubbly 12-inch pizzas (such as the tasty Fiorella sausage & peppers pizza that includes sausage, roasted peppers, mozzarella, and pecorino) as well as specialty taglio slices, bountiful fresh salads, and seasonal vegetables." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff
"Meatballs are easy to find in Philly, but none taste like this small plate named after legendary chef Marc Vetri’s father. Beefy meatballs smothered in rich tomato sauce and served alongside whipped ricotta di bufala and basil is delight to see (and taste)." - Ernest Owens
"Pizzeria Salvy inside the Comcast Technology Center is a good place to eat pizza and overhear business conversations about world domination. The Italian restaurant, although decked out in old-school white tablecloths and family photos, doesn't fit into its corporate wasteland setting. And no matter how light the meatballs are, you'll never forget you're in the basement of an office building. Come for a quick lunch or dinner when the setting doesn't matter. " - candis mclean
"Pizza in this city can be hit or miss, but acclaimed Chef Marc Vetri’s Pizzeria Salvy (named after his beloved father, Sal) is definitely the former. Located in the Comcast Technology Center, this not-talked-about-enough-pizzeria is serving incredible 12-inch pizzas (such as the tasty Fiorella sausage & peppers pizza that includes sausage, roasted peppers, mozzarella, and pecorino) as well as specialty taglio slices, bountiful fresh salads, seasonal vegetables, and their legendary Sal’s meatballs (that includes tomato sauce and whipped Ricotta di Bufala)." - Ernest Owens
