Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Woodinville’s newest pizzeria says it blends “the art and science of pizza-making with Seattle’s tech-savvy vibe.” We’re not sure if that means robots tossing dough or blockchain crusts. But the menu’s got some creatively named pies, like the “Eggitsteinal,” topped with breaded eggplant, or the “Cascadia” with a pesto-ranch base." - kayla sager riley, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo

Soft soggy pizza. Waited an hour for food. Average to say the least. Expensive for what it is. Party of 8. ALL agreed not the same as it was before the fire. Chopped salad way over dressed.

Google
it was my first time trying this pizza and it was great. i did a to-go order and the two greeting at the front were really nice, they helped me with questions I had. i personally would have liked my pizza to be fired a little longer but it was great after I reheated to get it more crisp!

Google
I had previously eaten at Pizzology downtown and it was GREAT. I've been wanting to try the Carmel location for awhile and it really was underwhelming, but has so much missed potential. One really offputting weird thing was that there was a very strong foul odor when first entering the resturant, when I mentioned this to the staff they indicated it was a known problem with the drains. I ordered a small margarita pizza - some misses that were really obvious to me as a Ooni pizza maker at home, the floor of their pizza oven was too hot, there was alot of charring on the bottom of the pizza but the middle and top of the pizza was clearly not getting enough oven time or top heat. Secondly, and this seems to be common in alot of the reviews, they put the super hot out of the oven pizza directly on a ceramic plate to serve, this immediately will make a pizza very soggy and taste undercooked, it must be placed on a wire rack or other device to prevent the steam from trapping under the pizza and immediately rendering it soggy. When I think about all these things in totality, it's just poor management and/or kitchen managent, all of these things could be avoided, the crust quality is pretty decent, the ingredients seem pretty good, but the art of the prep and overall experience delivery was just not there.

Google
Soft, very soggy pizza with little flavor. The Chicken Piccata pizza was just terrible. Literally the worst pizza I have ever had. The Lombardy pizza’s arugula was completely burnt. The cheese on the pizzas slide right off and the crust seemed undercooked and soggy on both pizzas. Not the same restaurant as before.

Google
Quality has gone soooo down, used to be our favorite

Google
My wife and I went here during the government shutdown and we are so thankful for them providing us a great meal. It was a scary time not knowing if/when I would get paid so getting to eat with my family and get away from it all was amazing. The food was excellent and it all tastes very authentic. You can tell everything is made with quality ingredients. The service was also very friendly. We will definitely always support a restaurant like this that supports the community.

Google
Pizzas are very well made, they are a little burnt at the bottom though. Bread stick were also different, in a good way. Overall great place.

Google
Delicious, as always. Calabrian Rigatoni is a family favorite… but so is the warm ricotta, anything on polenta, chicken parmigiana on angel hair pasta… any pizza… dry rub wings…yum.

Yelp
We are glad Pizzology is back. The servers are the same as before, and very good. The food is just as delicious as before. The same comfortable booths, tables and in sight kitchen. Go back again!

Yelp
Taking the mother in law out to eat tonight some place new. It was a bit chilly inside but other than that the interior was nice. Got a bit crowded when they got busy. We started with an order of breadsticks with dipping sauce. Bread was very good and the tomato sauce was my favorite. I didn't think the cheese dip had much flavor. I got a chopped salad without olives. It was also good and a small would serve at least two people maybe three. For entrees we got spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm with angel hair and Ndjua Alfredo. Mother in law really like the meatballs and said they tasted like a mix of sausage and ground beef. The sauce on the spaghetti was the same as the dipping sauce for the bread. Husband got Chicken Parm with angel hair. The chicken was good and had a nice crust and lots of cheese. The angel hair had a chunky spicy tomato sauce that was too spicy. Would be better with just the basic sauce. I got the Ndjua Alfredo and it was super. I'm a fan of Ndjua sausage anyway. We got Alamond Gelato and Chocolate for dessert. I love the Almond the chocolate was ok too. I think we may come back. I enjoyed pretty much everything. Husband was annoyed it was slightly casual dining. But I was fine with the time between items.

Yelp
I am sooooo happy Pizzology has reopened! We did try to pop in for lunch and unfortunately, they do not open until 4! Dinner service only now. But our server mentioned they're in the works for lunch service... New menu w tbe same classics! My husband said the mussels were the very best, kids finished all their individual pizzas, and my son ate 7 pieces, he's hoping for the title! Lol Welcome back Pizzology! The whole decor has been simplified and elevated but very sleek, and was greeted by many of the staff! Can't wait to return and enjoy the best pizza in Carmel!

Yelp
We are so happy Pizzology has re-opened! It has been a long wait, but so worth it for our pizza and warm ricotta dip. In the year that they have been closed, we have transitioned to gluten-free, so we did try out their gluten-free crust. Would not recommend. However, for our non-gluten free family members, Pizzology is and always will be a favorite. It is the best wood-fired pizza in town and the warm, salty ricotta dip is so unique. The new store is busy as ever, but well-deserved.

Rich M.

Yelp
We eat here at least 1x a month. Pizza is always our favorite, service is great, really good tap selections. Some times we'll eat in, some times we'll order carry out. Such a gem on the east side of Carmel!

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. It's one of my favorite in Indy. Don't be in a hurry though...the food and service aren't fast.

Yelp
Introduced to Pizzology thru friends we dine with regularly. Great evening, the food was excellent. Wife and I returned two weeks later for a second go around and again the pizza was so good we ordered a second one. It was a goner before it showed up. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

Yelp
We we're visiting our daughter and had just flown in that day. We were starving after missing dinner and we're in the mood for pizza. This was the only place near her home and despite some of the bad ratings I figured how bad could it be? It's Pizza! Well, unfortunately, this place lived up to the poor reviews. Terrible service from extremely inexperienced staff. The pizza was horrible and I could've done better out of my own freezer. I ordered half sausage and it was absolutely a mystery meat and tasted nothing like sausage. I read that this place was good before the fire and maybe that's true but we will never go back when visiting my daughter again. And if you order takeout double the wait time that they give you over the phone.

Dan O.

Yelp
So happy to have them back open again. We picked up some of their awesome home made sausage pizza!
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
More than thrilled to say the least that this place has finally opened up again. Missed it and the amazing food. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with this being their second weekend back, but they definitely need to work on the hostess stand and making sure they get people seated when tables become available. Place was packed when we arrived but there were several open tables and no one being seated. Service overall slow tonight, but to reiterate, the place was swamped. Food was amazing though and worth the wait. White Devil pizza and the Pepperoni and Pistachio pizza are what we ordered. Also went with the warm ricotta dip and bread which is always incredible. Music and ambiance were average tonight. Regardless, we'll absolutely be back. Might go with a pickup order next time

Yelp
This is the best pizza/pasta in Indy, so happy to have them back. Hannah is the most amazing up and coming chef! Check Pizzology out yesterday!

Yelp
A few years later and I still give this place 5 stars! We got carry out of Margarita and a sausage and pepperoni pizza - they were delicious!! The hosts were helpful and friendly. It took a little longer than the expected time for our carry out to be ready, but it was work the wait. Both pizzas had fantastic flavor and the crusts were fluffy and fresh. All ingredients seemed super high quality. Highly recommend for local brick oven pizza!

Yelp
Pizzology was a trendsetter years ago, and they've maintained excellence in food, quality, options, and service. It's a great spot to grab a unique and different style of pizza. One of my friends cooks using an Ooni pizza oven for group get together and parties, and many times his greatest hits are re-creations of Pizzology menu favorites.

Mark L.

Yelp
They were closed! No listing on the Website- no notice on the door. I drove to the location and had to change plans last minute.

Yelp
Fantastic dining room, great service, and the food was 10/10. I was worried it wouldn't be great for kids but it was just fine. My 5 and 8 year old loved it

Yelp
I feel like this place is a hidden gem. My neighbor told me about it and I finally got a chance to check it out. We went on a Friday night and it seemed busy but there was only a 10 min wait for 2. The dining room is fairly small and the tables are close together. We started with the Chopped Salad and then decided to each get our own pizzas because they aren't that big. They are wood fired and come out crispy as you can see from the pics. I went with the Lombardy which had arugula and prosciutto with a white sauce base. It was different but so good! My husband got the beekeeper with jalapeños and honey. It was sweet and spicy. My husband liked his better and I liked mine better, probably better off that way! If you are a fan of wood fired pizza I would highly recommend checking this place out. It definitely competes with some of the other popular wood fired pizza joints around town.

Ro P.

Yelp
Not the same ambience or the same pizza as before. A bit different. Loved the New York feel of the old place and did not understant so much cheese on the pizza but it was good. This was take out.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Everything here is awesome. If you can get the gnocchi on Friday's I highly recommend them, but you need to arrive early. This Friday they were out and I opted for the mussels. I have had these before and while the mussels are excellent, the broth is even better. When I was done with the mussels I finished the broth with a spoon. Wait staff is always super helpful and friendly. They have a window into the kitchen where young and old can see them making pizzas to order. They serve Coke products and have a full bar.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service! I'll start with pizza, boy was it ever good! We had the house, cheese pizza and added sautéed mushrooms and sausage. It was so full of flavor and the crust was crispy, perfectly crunchy, with the grilled flavor we love! The service was wonderful, friendly and our server was proud to work there! She was also a bartender there and invited us back! You could tell how much she enjoyed working there! If you love a wood grilled pizza, this is a must try !

Michelle D.

Yelp
Our server, Sophia, was amazing. We were so excited this restaurant is open again. We love the atmosphere and great food!

Lilly A.

Yelp
Amazing service from Laura and Bryan (B-) at the bar!! They were quick and attentive even when it was super busy. Food and ambiance was also 10/10.
google avatar

Lynn N.

Yelp
So the reviews are correct. Their breadsticks are good. There is a slight chew of the dough, yet its light. It has a garlic butter taste and is sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Their lemon vinaigrette salad was very sour, and missing a balanced flavor. I ordered a Bianca pizza with mushrooms and black olives. The cheese was bland. I'm not sure I would come back for the pizza. They had the order ready as promised and I didn't have to wait any extra time.
google avatar

Yelp
Have not visited since Covid and what a mistake. Forgot how good this pizza is! Sat at the bar with excellent service. Very good wine choices. Chopped salad was great with generous amounts of Gorgonzola cheese. Homemade sausage pizza with fennel was so good and the crust perfect. They have a nice enclosed patio with heaters. Sorry it took so long to get back here!!!

Yelp
Pizzology has always been highly recommended by anyone who's been and now we see why! We came for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was busy. We didn't have to wait but got seated on the patio. Usually you think patio, in the middle of winter? But their patio is nicely heated and gives off a moody date night vibe. Once seated, we ordered 2 local crafts beers out of the 6 options they had on tap. We came for the pizza and wanted to try different options. We asked if you could split 1 large pizza but make it half and half with the specialities. They said due to different weights, they don't allow for that. So we opted for two individual pizzas; the Cicero and Bama. The crust itself is different than other wood fire pizzas. It's thin but has a denser consistency than most. Both options were delicious and had a nice little char on them. Overall such a good experience! Our food was delicious and our waiter was friendly and quick. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We ordered to go from here after a soccer game at grand park. Margarita pizza, bee keeper pizza, chopped salad, breadsticks. Total was 59.00. The place was super busy. Our order was ready in the time quoted. Food was just ok. We liked the beekeeper pizza with honey the best. Breadsticks were good. Liked having two dipping sauces. Crust seemed a bit burnt. Salad was good, but small. Dressing was great. Overall, it was good but nothing I'd spend 59.00 for again. May be better if you dine in. Seems like a very popular place!

Yelp
What a cute little place in Carmel! They have an enclosed outdoor patio for extra seating. We started out with two appetizers: The Italian Mussels & The Wood Roasted Wings. The Italian Mussels are to die for! The key is the broth that they make for it. It is so flavorful that I could drink it as a soup. The mussels also come with two breadsticks. The Wood Roasted Wings were also a big hit. I just wish they would've been a bit bigger in size. However, the taste did not disappoint. Their cheese sauce that comes as a side is a must try with the wings; it's the perfect pair. For our main course, we ordered The Saint & Beekeeper pizzas. The crust was perfectly baked in their wood fire oven. However, the taste of the pizzas were just OK. I was expecting more flavor or uniques tastes that I did not receive. Even with this, I still enjoyed the pizzas and would not mind trying a different kind of pizza the next time I come. Overall, it was a good food experience with great service. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
We had a great time overall. Parking gets busy on the evening and waiting time is between 45-80 mins on a very busy Friday. We ordered artichoke dips starter, pistachio & pepperoni pizza. Everthing went well. Our waitress was very friendly. They have a cute covered patio, and big indoor area with Vespa pictures on the wall. I think its one of the best pizza. We have been coming here since 2014 and pizza is excellent !!
google avatar

Leah M.

Yelp
This is a great little spot! I especially love their margarita, pizza and their mushroom risotto. Wheelchair accessible.
google avatar

Holly S.

Yelp
Very nice workers and service. The pizzas we had were okay, a little pricey for the portions. We ordered takeout so maybe it's more of a "pay for the ambiance" kind of place, which did seem great!
google avatar

Nani R.

Yelp
It has been MANY years since I have eaten here, since before it was sold to the current owners. I was in the mood for some REAL pizza (sorry Pizza Hut and Dominos!) and started researching local pizza spots. After doing some research I found out it was #nationalpizzaday and decided to check this place out again. I was delightfully please to see that their pizza is still as fantastic as ever and nothing had changed. I even had to try their bread sticks after reading all the Yelp reviews because they sounded wonderful. Needless to say they did not fall short and completely satisfied! Pro tip: make sure to get an extra side of their Mornay sauce. You may want to dip everything in it!
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
If you want good, unique pizza, Pizzology is the place to go. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. The drinks were huge and a great price for the size. They have a little covered patio that we sat in and enjoyed our meal. They're also doing curbside so if you don't want to sit inside, call ahead and order for takeout!
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and was told it would be ready in 45 min. I arrived 45 minutes later just to have my order put "in queue" behind 10 other people waiting in line. Guy next to me said he had been at the restaurant waiting for 45 minutes already. We ended waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for our pizza. Two additional comments based on reading other reviews - 1) do not call yourself a pizza joint if you only have 1 oven that fits only 3 pizzas, and 2) Carlee, do not respond to legitimate customer reviews with snarky, rude responses. Terrible example to set for your employees.
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Delicious!! Such perfect tangy sweet red sauce! Just the right amount of fire to the crust! So delicious!! Highly recommend the breadsticks as well!! They top the charts for one of the best pizza places in Indiana!

Angela P.

Yelp
Wood fire pizza and fresh ingredients, staff friendly and welcoming We visit there often.

Yelp
Pizzology was my first post-COVID takeout meal after returning to the US. A bunch of friends had raved about it over the years to me, but living in East Carmel, I'd never tried it. When a friend said she was willing to eat ANYthing, I felt like this was the right time. Unfortunately, a lot of my food was compromised by the fact that I picked it up before running errands, so by the time we sat down to eat, it had been an hour since I'd gotten the food (one of the many reasons why I plan to go back for a dining experience, along with the fact that I still haven't had their tiramisu yet and haven't experienced the 'watch the chef' opportunity they have). That being said, our food - for the way I handled it - was good, adequate, filling, and pleasant. The highlight was definitely the pizza itself (as it should be)! We also had one with mushrooms and a variety of cheeses that impressed as well. If you like artisan, wood-fired pizza and live in Carmel and can't get a spot at Bazbeaux and don't want to drive all the way to King Dough, I highly recommend Pizzology,
google avatar

Jaydn B.

Yelp
If this isn't your local bar and pizza joint, what are you actually doing with your life? Fantastic pizza and appetizers, and the drinks Carly makes are top notch. Her whiskey sour is something special!!
google avatar

Kathy F.

Yelp
Great pizza and salad! Always busy. I would like to try more on the menu, but always want pizza. Fun to sit by the window and watch the pizzas being made.
google avatar

Craig K.

Yelp
This is based solely on how I was treated by the host. I was very much looking forward to paper airplane cocktails and the gnocchi special while sitting at the bar... which was full. I was told by a server that the seating around the bar was not open and the host must seat me. Ok this is annoying but whatever I walk to the host stand and ask to be seated in the bar area. Guy walks back with me looks around doesn't seat me then walks to the stand ignoring my presence then as soon as another guy comes in he seats him in the only available table in the bar area. Wtf.
google avatar

Norm C.

Yelp
This place has been in the neighborhood for a while and it seems everyone in Carmel has eaten here but not me. Well that was my loss but no more. We joined a couple of friends for a celebration dinner and was anticipating something good. Well i got that and more. Lots of good choices and the local craft beer selection is solid and Im a beer snob. We didn't want a big meal so we decided on breadsticks and i ordered the mushroom risotto. Both were great. Very flavorful and just the right size. Our dinner partners ordered the mussels and pepperoni risotto which both looked great. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Decor is simple and functional. Its not very large until outdoor seating is opened but if you have to wait its worth it. We will be dining here soon.

Yelp
Went to Pizzology on a week night, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress came to our table with in just a few minutes of being seated and took our drink order along with our appetizer and salad order. Our drinks, bread sticks and salads came right away. Then I don't know what happened. We ordered two pasta dishes and one pizza, it took close to 45 min for us to get our meals. During that time our waitress came over once and apologized for the wait and said our food was coming, that took about another 15min she then brought out a couples dinner that were seated after us, she explained theirs came out first because they had pasta and the pizza was holding up the order because the oven can only hold 3 at a time and she also explained that take out had gotten busy. Ok, but why did take out take precedent over dine in, and then another couple that was seated after us also received their dinner before us and it was pizza. I understand that things happen, but the icing on the cake was when we finally did get our dinners my pizza was not hot and fresh out of the oven, I think it had been out for awhile, and that was very disappointing. Don't make up a lie, just tell us something happened, and offer to take off the appetizer or offer us dessert literally anything, but please don't tell me something that's blatantly not true and not offer to rectify it in any way. I was very disappointed with my dine in experience here.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizzology is so good that when my dad requested pizza from a chain spot down the road, my mom and I went out of our way to order Pizzology just for us. Totally worth going to more than one spot because let me tell you, this pizza is magical. The pizza is more of the artisan, wood-fired, thin-crust type (the best type). I've always gotten the margherita pizza and haven't strayed. It's delicious. We also got the house salad and loved how the dressing was light and fresh to eat on the side with the pizza. The restaurant itself isn't huge so we normally do carry-out and enjoy it from the comfort of our own home.
google avatar

Kyle J.

Yelp
Horrific Service. 1.5 on a Thursday night to get pizza. Ended up not even able to eat our pizza because we had an event to go to. Nothing but excuses as we ate pizza in the car with our kids. Even made us pay for our drinks.
google avatar

Stacey C.

Yelp
Okay, as stingy as I am with the five star reviews this place deserves one hands down for several reasons. I'll start with the obvious, the food. I started with the chop salad romaine lettuce, roasted grape tomatoes, olives, shallots, gorgonzola, and lemon citronette. It was fresh and light and invigorating to the taste buds. It was a pale, crisp, fresh, light salad with a bit of a zip. The pizza is a fresh warm melt in your mouth amazing thin crust artesian pizza. I went for the Margherita with crushed San Marzano tomatoes, our hand stretched mozzarella, and fresh local basil. I opened the box and the smell was intoxicating. The second reason are the people. The service was prompt, kind, and amazing. The owner is also committed to giving back and supporting the community and that's a small business that I want to support!
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been on a health kick and wanted to reward ourselves with some tasty pizza for our cheat meal. We made a reservation for 6:15. Walking in the hostess was very polite and sat us quickly. The restaurant is VERY small. Our waitress took awhile to greet us. I could tell she was busy and overwhelmed. We ordered a great 2015 Chianti and the grilled romaine salad with bread sticks as our appetizer. I am not kidding when I say this was the most AMAZING FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED! The quality of the food was absolutely satisfying. So fresh so tasty. I can't wait to come back! The home made sausage with fennel is to die. We cannot wait to be back. I just hope they can keep up with their business.
google avatar

Jessie G.

Yelp
Amazing breadsticks. Fresh and flavorful pasta dishes. Orecchiette and sausage is an outstanding pasta diSh. Bartender Carly is amazing! Great neighborhood place! Took care of us as Federal furloughed employees. Very nice gesture. Happy to spread the word of how great Pizzology is for our comunity

Sandy P.

Yelp
First, I have to say I love the food at Pizzology but I had to laugh when we ordered the wings. They must have been from a baby chicken, they were the smallest wings I have ever seen! For $14 dollars they are not worth it. I also question why when you order a salad to go why its smaller than what you get when you order in?!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
I really like this place. I have never had a bad meal and the wait staff is always awesome. If you sit at the bar the bartender is as friendly and chatty as you want! I only have 1 issue, I wish they stayed open later! I know they are a business and need to do what is best for their organization so this is just really me being selfish, but I live close but and would love to be able to stop by during the week for my favorite drink, the Black Manhattan!
