OMG! This place has been amazing ever since it was in Little 5 Points. Which was the last time I ate there. My brother and I came for his birthday. The even hand happy birthday to him. The food is unbelievably good. DON'T NOT PASS ON THE NAAN!

Google
We drive all the way from McDonough just to eat here. The 45 minute to a 1 Hour drive is totally worth it. My favorite dish is the chicken kebab. Butter chicken, and chicken 65 are also amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Google
Dude the staff is so welcoming and kind. The food is out of this planet and the place is cool. I really love it and can’t wait to try more new things next time!

Google
The Service is great, very friendly and takes time to explain the vast menu. Chicken Samosa (appetizer) must have. If looking to try several things at one get the Meal combo for one. I'll definitely be back

Google
Ali & Rifa provided me with excellent service a customer of 4 yrs still extremely satisfied! Full of flavor and large portions always served fresh! You must try their dessert, the cheese dumpling. (:

I love this restaurant so much. I love the fact that once you go inside, the decorations are unique. It is a full vibe, and the atmosphere just makes sense on top of that. Service is great exquisite. I love how Babu takes care of you. Always asking if there’s things that he can do throwing in some small conversation as well. Making you feel at home And obviously the food is So tasty. I love their gravies and I love their dry chicken as well, and don’t give me started on the Biriyani

Google
So delicious! I'm the worst at getting food pics at restaurants before I start eating them lol Everything about this place is Indian comfort food. Service is excellent and attentive. Atmosphere is cozy and clean. Parking is tricky because of valet and validation but staff was quick to inform us about it. We really enjoyed the garlic naan, chicken 65, veggie samosas and butter chicken. Everything full of traditional flavors and spices and oh so fresh. Will definitely be back soon!

Google
This my second time dining with a friend at Planet Bombay on a Sunday afternoon. The warm cheery welcome and attentive service is matched by really tasty food. We’ve especially enjoyed the Gobi appetizer (fried cauliflower in a sauce) and different entrees from the varied menu. This time we tried lamb korma and chicken paasanda. Indian sauces are delicious and I don’t cook Asian cuisine at home, nor does my friend. Generous portions of flavorful food at reasonable prices makes this our go-to for Indian food. For a hot non-alcoholic drink I ordered a spiced black tea. Not a chai. Definitely different—in a good way. Will order it again. All in all, a lovely dining experience. Oh—and the staff will validate your parking in the nearby public lot. Do NOT pay in full in the lot itself. Scan the lot’s QR code, then, once seated and inside, ask the server to help you proceed from there. The free parking was a nice bonus. My friend and I both highly recommend.

Yelp
Delicious food, great portions, authentic ambiance, great service!!! Favorite thing so far is lamb kurma!

Yelp
This was my favorite indian restaurant when I lived around here over 15 years ago and after a brief visit I just had to spend the money for a delivery to my hotel. The shrimp poori has changed a bit (more orange than white colored sauce) but if you have never had it- TRY IT! The sweet and mint sauces were identical in memory and so good with the onion bahji and chicken samosa. The lentil soup was delicious and garlic naan is always mandatory. Happy to see you're still around and successful!

Yelp
I went here for a quick and easy dinner with my girlfriend. She had been here many times before but it was my first time. The staff here is very friendly. It definitely has a family-run feel and vibe. We got the chickpea appetizer and two different areas. For most of the curries you can choose what protein you want. I went with the fish. I would not disappointed. Butter chicken my girlfriend got was also very good.

Yelp
Food was delicious!! Get the coconut soup. We had great service and the food was absolutely delightful. I would recommend this place for dine in or take out!

Yelp
I've passed this place so many times and even came in before, but I never had the food myself! It's been chilly and I wanted something warm and comforting, so I decided to try Planet Bombay!! There is a parking lot and you can get validation, and there is also street parking, if you can get a spot. The inside is dimly lit and has a nice ambiance. I ordered my food for pick up, and the young lady who gave my my food was soo sweet. I ordered veggie samosas, cheese naan, and oxtail bhusa/boosa. Everything. Was. Amazing. They also gave me a side of green chutney, and I put it on everything lol. The food was still piping hot when I got home, and I enjoyed it so much. I might order again this weekend lol. Also, they were offering a nice discount if you do pickup or dine in, so stop by to see if you can catch it! If not, it's still more than worth the trip. Thank you for the excellent food and service!!

Yelp
We've been visiting planet Bombay for a while now as I fly into Atlanta from London quite often and we absolutely love it. The food is incredible and the staff are so lovely. I would definitely recommend planet Bombay. Especially there butter chicken it's delicious.

Yelp
Me and my sister stumbled across this place from the recccomendations on TikTok. Shoutout because we found a GEM. Located right in Downtown Atlanta. The food was delicious and full of flavor! The garlic naan was also chefs kiss & the butter chicken was so good . The prices are surely worth it because the portion sizes are huge. I enjoyed and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Perfect. Just perfect. We came here after my original Valentine's Day plans blew up in my face. I know what you're thinking. Indian? Romance? Curry? But yes! First, this is a cute restaurant. Fancy? No, but it's pleasant inside. And the service is second to none. Everyone is so pleasant and enthusiastic and friendly. We felt like they practically insisted they let us be served. While my days of gluten garlic naan are behind me, my wife really enjoyed it. As for our entrees, I got the chicken kashmiri . I am not sure if I ever had it before but I try to experiment at different Indian restaurants. Regardless, this was delicious. The curry was amazing, chicken was tender, and I ate way too much rice just to soak up the sauce. They didn't ask how spicy we wanted our food. Not sure why. Maybe they just cook it as it's supposed to be but I doubt it. My guess is that Indian food cooked as it's supposed to be would burn a hole in the average American's intestines. More likely, they tame it for Americans. It could have been a bit spicier but I'm not really complaining. I loved this dinner. Won't hesitate coming back.
google avatar

Kennadi J.

Yelp
Very pleased with my experience. Service was great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered vegetable samosas, garlic naan, tilapia curry and Malai curry. My only complaint is that I wish the food came out hot. It was room temp but great overall.
google avatar

Kee K.

Yelp
First time experience was delightful. Convenient location right off the Beltline on Edgewood. Plenty parking in the surface lot which Planet Bombay will validate for two hours. The ambiance was relaxed, but takeout was pretty busy. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was alright Nothing special really stood out. I'm glad the entrees and appetizers did come out piping hot and not lukewarm. My only complaint was the spice level even though the menu stated the dish would be spicy they missed the mark because it wasn't at all. I'm not hard pressed to return, but I would if I'm in the area looking for Indian fare.
google avatar

RNelle S.

Yelp
I ordered food from here through DoorDash; it horrible except for the vegetable samosa. The paneer tikka masala tasted like paneer cheese in Campbell's condensed tomato soup.the rice tasted like tap water, of that makes sense... and the garlic naan was soooooo bland.
google avatar

Abhishek K.

Yelp
On my way to catch my flightin Atlanta I stopped by a restaurant because I was hungry and in a rush. They made us wait a long time for the food, and when it finally arrived, it was disappointing. The prices didn't match the quality of the food at all. The biryani didn't taste like biryani, and the meat was very tough--almost as if it had been cooked a few days ago. The chicken curry was also overly salty. Overall, I was not satisfied
google avatar

Janice J.

Yelp
I ordered take out from planet bombay and got a great deal on daal and rice (BOGO) on UberEats. It was a lot of food but the flavor seemed quite mild even thought I asked for spicy. The naan was also as expected but I love a good toast on the naan. Large portions but could increase to spice flavor and spiciness!
google avatar

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Service here was great. Everyone I interacted with was lovely. My main gripe is with the lack of spiciness in the food. At other spots I've been asked what spice level, but not here. It didn't occur to me until after trying all of our dishes that perhaps we should have specified. I like some decent spice! I do think the various "sauces" on the dishes had complexity, but there was something lacking and I think a bit of spice would've gone a long way. I expected (and hoped that) the tofu vindaloo would have a different flavor profile (more acidity or sourness) but it didn't taste much different than the vegetable curry or aloo gobi. That being said, the flavor was still nice, just not the variety I'd hoped for. Samosa appetizer is not pictured but was delicious. Garlic naan is always delicious. I would go back to try other things and ask for more spice.

Yelp
The food is always so so so good when I come here no matter the time of day. Everyone is always so sweet and accommodating and is always on top of making sure that we enjoyed our meal and stay. It's clean inside as well. I'm vegetarian and they have soo many vegetarian and vegan options available. It's open late nights as well so it's super convenient. I highly highly recommend if you're in the mood for some comfort Indian food! Their menu is huge

Kahlia S.

Yelp
I wish I could give this restaurant a zero. My husband and I ordered delivery. This by far has been one of the worst Indian food we have ever eaten. The chicken samosas were overcooked. The chicken Tikka masala was basically runny sweet ketchup. The chicken was so overcooked I couldn't eat it. This is a place to avoid!
google avatar

Latasha B.

Yelp
Surprised this only has 4 stars. The food was excellent, I had butter chicken and coconut curry, and the mango yogurt drink. Excellent. Also the garlic naan was delicious. This place will be seeing me again

Babor U.

Yelp
Great food and good service.everyone here is very frindly.there butter chicken is the best in town
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
The nan was fresh and delicious, the curry was was tender soft. I wish there could've been a little bit more sauce for all the lamb and the chicken but otherwise it was just right. Service really nice and friendly. The service was quite fast, and the food was delicious , I recommend it! Pictures included for ambiance.

Rosie B.

Yelp
The food had excellent color, flavor, the right amount of heat, and freshness. I've been catching myself missing ATL just to have this meal. The service was amazing, the staff made us feel like we were dining with family, alongside the cozy ambiance.

Yelp
I wanted fast-casual Indian with reasonable prices, so Yelp directed me here and they did not disappoint! They have free parking in their lot if you get the ticket validated and a 15-min free parking for to-go orders and drivers. If you order online, you get a 20% discount (yay). I chose the chicken samosas and chicken rolls for my appetizers but ended up with 2 orders of samosas, so not sure what the chicken rolls are but was totally happy with the extra samosas. Crispy and flaky dough stuffed with tender, seasoned chicken that arrived with both cilantro mint chutney and a tamarind chutney (both amazing on the samosas). I was torn between butter chicken and chicken korma but really love a mild butter chicken and was super happy with my choice! Since this was to-go order, I ordered extra rice to enjoy the extra sauce. Naan is extra but definitely pay the extra charge for the garlic since it had minced garlic, not garlic powder like other Indian restaurants.

Alan M.

Yelp
The vindaloo I ordered was bland and an item called Aloo Tondoor was advertised as two for the price of one but I was charged for two orders (through Uber Eats) .The dish was incredibly insipid - boiled potatoes with only a hint of curry sauce and a small amount of onion. It was not worth anything remotely near $17. I had expected something like Bombay Aloo.

Stoney B.

Yelp
Great food and service. Portions are really good too. Try the Tajmahal Beer as well if you want a little buzz. It's 22 ounces, very light and refreshing.

Yelp
Food is fantastic , atmosphere, service is great. They are always busy, I've been a customer since L5P!

Yelp
Perfect spot to stop in after a walk on the East side beltline trail. The food is warm and spicy. You can find this restaurant next to the Edgewood Avenue bridge over Shake Shack. Plenty of free street parking ... although what are they gonna do when these high rises start selling and leasing?? Our server was Babu and he was super helpful with the menu. We had an appetizer, and 2 entrees. We ordered some Heineken just to wash it all down. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of room for families, friends, or a date night. Uber eat drivers are pretty frequent. We really enjoyed our dinner here.

Yelp
Wonderful service with great recommendations and amazing food. Cannot go wrong! Came with a big group from out of town and they treated us so well.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place as her favorite Indian restaurant in Atlanta and she wasn't wrong. Upon arrival, the staff was exceptionally friendly. The restaurant was quite informal and clean. The menu was extensive and had plenty of vegan options. My friend and I ordered chicken samosas for an appetizer and they were very good with just the right amount of spice and crunch. My friend really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. She said it was in a list of top favorites. My tofu with mushroom curry made me want to lick the dish. The flavor was amazing. I usually like to pick new dishes to try when I visit a restaurant again, but I would have a hard time not ordering this one over and over. The naan was also cooked perfectly. While we were sitting there, we were shocked to see the massive amount of to-go orders that were being filled. I will most definitely be back.

Yelp
Run don't walk to get to this one, speaking from the heart on this one. This place is writing the book on modern Indian food in Atlanta right now. Stopped on a Saturday night here and got the Onion Bhaji to start and the Sweet & Sour Mango Chicken as my main with basmati rice. my mouth thanked me, your mouth will thank you. Waitstaff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and are on point with anything you need, there's street parking but there is a small lot down the street. Be good to yourself and stop by.

Yelp
Food was subpar not a great service experience we were the only ones there I understood why after being served . Not bashing them sweet people but nasty samosas are the end for me

Yelp
Two words: Curry. Oxtail. Wow, wow, wow. Craving Indian food during a lazy day at home a few months back, I hopped onto a delivery app to see what was up. Still getting my feet wet in our amazing city after some months here, I'm still solidifying my favorites so I'm always so grateful for my friends on Yelp sharing their faves. That's what led me to planet bombay once I scrolled past it on the delivery app. After reading the Yelp reviews, I figured it was worth a try. What a fabulous choice. For my first order, we went with a few vegetarian options for my boyfriend but for me, it was a bit more difficult to choose what I wanted. That's because the menu options are incredibly vast, with each one sounding more delicious than the last. Until something caught my eye. Curry Oxtail? Like, huh? Where I'm from, Caribbean food is a way of life, even for a Yank as myself. So when I see Oxtail, immediate joy rises from within me. Although a pricey dish, (#MakeOxtailCheapAgain) it's alwayssss seemingly worth it when prepared correctly. So as soon as I saw that, I immediately knew it was perfect for my dinner. Paired with a side of rice and an order of delicious Mulligatawny soup, we were all set. Now, this isn't a review about the delivery driver, but it always seems like a smooth transaction between them and planet bombay, so I'm grateful to both sides! But it always stands out to me that when I get my food after a 15 min+ drive, it's alwaysss piping hot!! The care they take in wrapping up messy dishes is a wonderful practice and makes ordering it via delivery even better. Onto to the food. My bf's dishes never make it past me blinking, so I can't review his other than assuming he really enjoyed lol. But mine? Phew. I had actually never tasted Mulligatawny soup before I began ordering it from planet bombay. It stood out to me because I'm a huge Seinfeld fan and immediately thought of the Soup episode and knew I had to try it, lol. It's always delicious when I order it! Rich and full of flavor, even reheating doesn't take away from how good it is. And the oxtail. Ohhh, my precious, precious oxtail. I want to shake the chef's hand one day because there's no reason for that oxtail to be so tender!! I usually receive about 3 large pieces and maybe 2 smaller pieces, I'm sure that some may expect more, but it always lasts me two days when enjoying myself. I order my curry at a "Hot" spice level and it's just that without taking away any of the rich flavors. I seriously crave this meal at least once every two weeks now after getting hooked! If planet bombay can be so tasty via delivery, I can only imagine how enjoyable it will be when I get to visit them IRL!

Yelp
This has just become my number one place in Atlanta. The flavors were out of this world. We ordered a few appetizers as well and ordered some dishes to go. The service was immaculate. And i cant wait to come back!

Yelp

Yelp
Amazing!!! This was my first time here and the manager was so nice! Best service I can say I've had in a very long time. He came by the table constantly making sure we were enjoying ourselves. I had an organic margarita (he said it was the best in the city and I agree) it tasted so natural and they only used top shelf alcohol so it was very smooth. The samosas were a first for me but I'll make sure to order them going forward bc they were too good. I ordered the curry chicken I got the highest spicy level and compared to other Indian spots I've been to, the heat is not overpowering the food, but it's still pretty hot. I also got the vindaloo chicken and yea.. they'll be seeing me again! Everything was really good. All 10s.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
The waiter we had was amazing. We sat most of the meal watching him make his rounds and warm up people's frosty nights with his big personality. The place is cute with dim but perceptible lighting, colorful traditional artwork and quiet modern accents. And then the food came. It smelled too good while it was cooking to pause for pictures, but it impressed me and the brit with me. 10/10 do recommend. I'm going to go sleep for eternity from this food coma. ~~

Mahesh K.

Yelp
High Alert for all Indians !!!!! This is not even close to our food.. all their gravy are of TOMATO PUREE and not any of the Indian spices, be aware!!!

S L.

Yelp
Went there for dinner tonight and really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was really good and full of flavors and spices, the service was excellent, and the ambiance and atmosphere were very pleasant. If I ever come back to visit Atlanta in the future, will definitely plan to stop by this restaurant again.

Yelp
Got the shrimp Puri, chicken 65, and paratha. Loved the chicken 65, shrimp Puri was fun to try, and paratha was not what I expected but it wasn't bad. The chicken 65 is there best chicken 65 I've had and I want to try more of the appetizers
google avatar

Rae J.

Yelp
Good portion size and lots of deals on prices! Food came quickly and was hot. Not sure if we didn't order the right thing, but both of us weren't impressed with our meals. The tofu/eggplant dish didn't have enough tofu, the eggplant pieces were giant and the sauce felt a little too acidic. Chicken dish was just okay according to my partner. Would try again and order something different! Did like the availability of indoor-Chinese options

Yelp
Decent Indian restaurant option if you're downtown. It's in the less crowded side of Edgewood. At least that's what it was like during the evening when we visited. The restaurant looks pretty clean and has a nice vibe with the Indian pictures on the wall. There's a bar on the far end of the space However there's a long table just for pick up. It makes it look a bit messy on that end but since the tables are on the other side, it's not necessarily in the way. We immediately received two bottled waters when we sat down. I'm not sure that's the norm but that was fine with us. We had two dishes. The curry made with coconut milk is very good. This is my preference for curry so I'm glad it was an option. There's more sauce than the shrimp so I take it that they make a lot of sauce so that you can smother it over the white rice. The paneer was good but a bit too sweet for me. I've had this dish at other Indian restaurants and they have some spice to it so I was a bit surprised that this one is so sweet. The service is good although they don't do much small talk. It's very much about if the food tastes good and move on to the next table. Overall this is a good choice. I will come back again and try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
Got a malai curry delivered - with naan (and comes with rice). Portion size is pretty big - LOTS of curry. The flavor was really great and sweet (I got mild). The chicken was also not dry which I love. Garlic naan is always great. tldr; Flavor was great and portions totally worth it!
google avatar

Lilyanna H.

Yelp
The service was amazing! Multiple staff members checked on my table. The drinks were made very well- strong, but delicious. The appetizer I had was so good! The chicken had a delicious crunchy and crispy texture to it, with in depth flavor. It was spicy, but savory! I ordered a combo meal with chicken, spinach and goat. I unfortunately cannot remember the names of each dish however I can say that the proteins were cooked wonderfully! Very tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and service. The staff are very friendly, they will help you eat their dishes in the "correct" order if you ask and they can explain each dish thoroughly to you so that you know exactly what you're eating. Staff was very mindful of my mother's peanut allergy- and gratefully there were no mistakes or accidents. If I'm not mistaken they use vegetable oil instead of peanut. The restaurant itself was very clean! They make sure to wipe down tables and booths thoroughly. The bathroom was very clean and I didn't feel like I had to hold my breath. A bidet is available as well. I would 100% return. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Parking: street parking along Edgewood or there's a small parking lot on Edgewood and Cornelia Atmosphere/service: family owned, and it feels homey. Plenty of seating, spaced out bc COVID, with a bar in the back. The service was great, attentive and so friendly! Food: my friends & I shared - - gobi appetizer: breaded and fried cauliflower sautéed in delicious and flavorful spices. It is pretty spicy (you can see the jalapeños on the plate) but each bite really does leave you wanting more - chicken tikka masala: you can't go wrong this, it's a classic. Their curries are just everything. Creamy and thick, it's not watery or diluted at all. - chicken jahlfrazi: my first time having this! I think it had a bit more depth of flavor than the tikka, maybe bc there were more aromatics in the curry like chunks of onion and etc. Pairs perfectly with rice and naan. - paneer saag: spinach based, creamy and soo good. - garlic naan: you would be doing yourself a disservice not getting naan at any Indian place. How else are you going to scrape every last bit of curry off your plate? You need a vessel for the sauce. - basmati rice Can't wait to come back!!

Charity H.

Yelp
I was looking to treat myself to lunch date and this was the place! This space is always inviting and so accommodating. I started my time with the vegetable samosas and some garlic naan. Both beyond tasty and the chutney had a great aromatic flavor. For my meal- I ate the lamb tikka massala. The portion was really enough to feed 2-3 people. And, the taste was authentically what I need what I needed with flavor.

Pauline O.

Yelp
Highly recommend the weekday lunch special! We got the Butter Chicken and the Tikka Masala Lunch Specials that came with naan, soup, a veggie side, rice, and an onion fritter for $14!

Yelp
Fcukkkkkkk. Read another yelpers review about oxtail curry and there was no way i could not order it. FCUKING BOMB. i cannot believe I've been sleeping on this. Big chunks of oxtail that are succulent. Curry sauce is on point. I don't know if I'll ever be able to order anything else from them. Even though in this same meal, we got the veggie samosas, chicken tikka masala, veggie korma and dessert. All fantastic. The workers there are incredibly friendly. All in all, love it here.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We were driving around looking for something open on a Monday and saw the sign. So happy we stopped in. This cute little place was clean and decorated, they had Indian music playing and Bollywood movies on. The staff were attentive and sweet. They menu suggestions and double checked to make sure all the spice levels were right! (Something that has been a weird issue at other ATL Indian restaurants, in our experience they never make the food spicy enough!)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were hungry yesterday, and as we perused UberEats, I noticed a really great bogo/buy one get one free deal on several of their items. They have a lot of great options to choose from on the menu. We placed an order and drove to the store to pick up, and were greeted by a smiling gentleman who helped us. He was friendly and sweet. The interior looked comfortable and cozy. We ended up getting the vegetable samosas as our appetizer. This was my favorite item we got. They were so flavorful and crispy, and tasted great in the mint sauce. A small note--usually, at most Indian restaurants I've patroned, samosas come with both a green sauce (mint or cilantro) as well as a brown sauce (tamarind). The tamarind sauce was either forgotten from our bag or they didn't have it. I'm not sure, but it would have been nice to have both green and brown sauces. Small critique; not a deal breaker! For our entrées, we shared the Chana Masala and the Aloo Daal. Both came with basmati rice. Between these two dishes, I alternated on which my favorite was, but I think I'd go with the Chaana Masala. It was hearty and filling. The Aloo Dal was good too though. Both dishes were flavorful and tasty. We also got some naan, which is a necessity! Everything was yummy, and they give great portions. I look forward to trying more of their dishes.

Yelp
This review is only based on receiving food via delivery as I've never actually been to the restaurant. I wasn't even sure whether I'd like Indian food but everything tried has been very tasty with large portions .

Keotha M.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Indian food. Being that it was my birthday dinner, I wanted a family style oriented place. When making my reservations I spoke to the owner Keishor, he was very friendly and I knew right then I picked the right spot. OMG!! the food was amazing!!! My fave was the butter chicken (so tender) , rice and garlic naan bread. The bread is even better when dipped in your meat sauce Oh and those margaritas were the bomb!!! I highly recommend this place. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE GREAT FOOD GREAT DRINKS AND AMBIANCE REESES
