Plant Junkie Front St

Plant Junkie is near my work and thank goodness - I come here often for lunch. My usual orders are the “Yucatan Smack” bowl and the “Bangkok Noodle Drop” bowl. Pictured here are the “Po Boy” (seitan) and their winter special - both amazing as well!

I recently visited Plant Junkie with my best friend, and we were instantly obsessed with the bright, airy vibe. The natural light, cozy seating, and fun neon sign gave the space such a welcoming, feel-good energy—we couldn’t stop gushing about the interior. Liz was there to greet us and take our order, she was incredibly passionate about their mission and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We kicked things off with the Sri Lankan Karma Bowl, bursting with bold, comforting flavors—seitan curry, coconut kale, crispy papadum, and fluffy basmati rice. It was rich, hearty, and absolutely satisfying (I didn't want to share this one). Next up was The Wicked Baller, a “meatball” grinder on a soft pretzel bun, loaded with marinara, peppers, onions, and crispy shallots—tangy, savory, and totally nostalgic. The bun is sooooo good. Of course, we had to try the crispy “Chicken” Nuggets (because why not?) they were such a generous portion and a refreshing Greek Salad with tofu feta and crunchy pita chips. To top it all off, we indulged in the vegan mocha cake and homemade cookies—perfectly sweet, rich, and not too heavy. Plant Junkie isn’t just about great food; it’s a feel-good spot with a mission, blending bold global flavors with a passion for sustainability. Definitely worth a visit, whether you’re vegan or just craving something delicious.

This place is a must visit in FiDi if you or someone you love is plant based or if you’re feeling something super satisfying for lunch. I stopped by with a friend and we sat in their dining room which was super comfortable. We got the Sri Lankan Bowl, which was so flavorful, the Tokyo Bowl and the Hipster Chicken Sandwich that I couldn’t put down. You order in the front but can be served in the dining room, which was perfect on a cold day. This place was also doing a ton of deliveries while I was there and it’s clear why. The signature dishes were all top notch and the portions were huge. Highly recommend!

Trying to eat better but still love your comfort foods? This relatively new place at the South Street seaport area is worth checking out. The food is all plant based, and there are gluten free options to be had as bowls. As with many other vegan places, there are a number of items made with wheat gluten, but they do have good signage to let you know what you're eating. I decided to prep with a digestive enzyme to enjoy a seitan based sandwich, Po Boy Swag. While it didn't taste like shrimp to me, it does have a good texture, a mix of crisp and firm, and the sauce, bun and veggies - as plant based sandwiches go, it's tasty. Do pick up one of the chocolate chip cookies, at least for later- they're a bit like if a cookie and scone had a baby. Might make for a fun breakfast! The customer service was excellent and for the area, prices were quite fair. As I'm sure many are aware, the seaport area is historic, and so not very accessible. The largest amount of seating (good for a group) is up some beautiful, very old brick stairs. However, there are two tables set on ground level before it, one inside and one outside. I like this place, and plan to go back and try some of the other dishes. Good stuff!

9/10 Great place in a beautiful district in NY. As the place does not have many reviews here I was not sure about what to expect. However, it was a very positive surprise - I had a Yucatán Smack bowl and I absolutely loved it, all the different preparations were tasty by their own, and when mixing everything was tasty, juicy and delicious, I would totally recommend it. Service was good and quick, they offered free water without having to ask for it. My boyfriend got a chocolate cookie and was also quite good, I like them a little bit more crunchy but that’s my personal taste. Overall, experience was great and I would totally come back to try other items on the Menu.

Cute little restaurant.. Super nice and friendly staff.. And great food! One large ADA restroom, however, there are a few stairs to access the bathroom and most of the restaurant's tables.

Amazed how tasty this was considering I’m not vegan. Got the Bangkok Bowl and loved the noodles / crispy tofu / coleslaw. Super attentive and sweet staff too :)

We had amazing food (the only vegan hotdog I could find in NYC and it was super yummy ✨). On top of that everyone was so nice with us and also recommended other vegan places around New York. What we ordered: hotdog 🌭, tofu mole (very good but spicy 🌶️ ahahahah) and Yucatàn bowl
