Worst food! Went here on Feb 14 for the Valentine’s four-course prix fixe, and it was one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve ever had. Not a single dish was good, and the entire menu felt like it was designed to sound fancy rather than actually taste good. For a special-occasion dinner, this was a complete letdown from start to finish. Vegetarian sushi – poorly balanced and unpleasant. sticky rice & spicy watermelon sauce – confused flavors, terrible execution. Vodka rigatoni – not al dente, literally raw. Vodka pizza – so bad we couldn’t even eat more than 2 slices Cheesecake – fine but forgettable. Chocolate tart – tasted like dry pastry with cheap chocolate syrup. This was supposed to be a romantic Valentine’s dinner but turned into a waste of time and money. Even the most basic Italian dishes were messed up, which says a lot about the kitchen. If you’re thinking of coming here for a date, celebration, or any special occasion, I’d strongly suggest going somewhere else The food looks good in the photos but is very bad

My girlfriends and I visited Planta a few weeks ago, and it was such a pleasant experience. It was my first time at the restaurant, and while I’m not vegan, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I’m currently limiting my dairy intake, so I was thrilled to satisfy my pizza craving with one of their delicious dairy-free options. The service was fantastic—both Sid and Grace were such a pleasure. Grace was especially knowledgeable and helpful when we were placing our orders, and when there was a small issue with my meal, they handled it quickly, apologetically, and with kindness. I would definitely recommend Planta and can’t wait to go back!

Great atmosphere, modern and sleek decor, makes this place a gem. The Amazingly delicious food is worth the trip we made from New York. From the hostess to our server, everyone was awesome!! We ordered the Bang Bang Broccoli, and the Torched & Pressed for starters, which are heavenly. We ordered the cucumber mule for drinks, they tasted so fresh and amazing. We had The House Burger and The Vodka Pizza as our entrees, and for dessert we had Apple Crumb pie......OMG!!!! SOOOO delicious. Our waitress Marie was soo awesome. Great staff. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our experience here. The food was overall excellent (aside from some Vegan substitutes that we discovered we just don't like the taste of like cashew cheese). For us the standout was the vegetarian sushi and the bang bang broccoli. The crispy rice roll is a must order I would say. We didn't leave any space for dessert so I can't comment on that aspect.

It's difficult to say what was best about our first experience at PLANTA restaurant. The food was fantastic, a balance of flavors that left us curious for the next bite, wanting to try every dish they had, but our stomachs wouldn't allow it because we were full after trying the protein-rich dishes. Another essential point was the service from our server, Grace, who showed not only a deep knowledge of the dishes but also a passion for what she does. An important point is that I love meat and at no time did I miss it due to the quality of the food. Thank you very much to the PLANTA team for taking care of us.

I loved being able to choose literally ANYTHING on this menu! Plant based whole menu means you do not have to be selective when you are a vegan, yay! Also, suggest going during happy hour as it significantly cuts the cost of your bill down. Michael was an amazing server and helped by mentioning this fun fact (thank you Michael!) he was incredibly fun, and wonderful. He made the experience more enjoyable and made some excellent food recommendations. The restaurant has beautiful decor that you cannot help but enjoy as it is bright and airy. I truly enjoyed the experience, thank you so much, I will most definitely be returning.

Visited Planta for the first time during a work lunch and absolutely loved it. The Japanese “steak” was the highlight for meeee… love, love, loved it. The sushi and shiitake “steak” with tofu and broccoli were also fantastic. Beautiful space, friendly service, and creative plant-based dishes. Highly recommend. 100000/10

Almost missed this place because there's little light outside and inside. It's really dim, the decor's nice and the seating's pretty comfortable. Service was very kind and attentive. I went for a birthday dinner on Sunday with my friend. It got busy around 6pm. We ordered drinks to start: my friend had the lych-please which she noted wasn't particularly sweet and I had the matcha latte, which I was able to get iced. There's no sugar added, so you'll have to ask for it. I liked the thick oat milk taste. We got nachos after which was pretty good- I was surprised by how good the chorizo was and it tasted very similar to meat. It's made out of potatoes though. After that we had the hawaiian pizza and cream udon. The hawaiian pizza was interesting- the sauce is very sweet because they use bbq instead of tomato sauce. Unfortunately it wasn't to me or my friend's liking but our server was kind and able to get it comp'd for us. I was pleasantly surprised by that. The cream udon was good, the cream taste was simple but the mushrooms were really great. I ended up paying $58 before tip for my latte, udon and the nachos. Overall, a nice place for those who are vegetarian, as the whole menu is plant-based.

Came here for a late lunch because my boss ate at a Planta in NY and said it was tasty. I am not a vegan, but I love trying new foods. Everything we got here was tasty, and I would get all dishes again except for the potatoes and one of the rolls. We got the Vietnamese iced coffee, the bao slider (mushroom), 1,000 layer crispy potatoes, bang bang broccoli, unagi eggplant nigiri, dragon roll, firecracker roll, and one of the May specials-cacio e pepe ramen. I loved how they seared the eggplant nigiri to give it that smoky flavor. From far away, it almost looked like fish which was a cute idea. I didn't love the firecracker roll (Japanese sweet potato), but I loved the dragon roll (tempura broccoli). The cacio e pepe ramen and the bang bang broccoli were the table favorites. The ramen dish was the largest and definitely great for sharing. Everything else was small like tapas size and the rolls had 8 pieces I think. Service was fast and friendly. My only reason for one less star is because vegan food is always expensive for what it is...vegetables. And even though the crispy potato dish was crispy outside and soft inside and I loved the "caviar" and how it looked real, it was a little bland. Needed salt or hot sauce. The vibe and decor inside is pretty hip and bougie, but I don't think you need to dress fancy to dine here. Wish Planta would open a location in the Bay Area. I think it would do really well there!

We stopped in to Planta Yorkville for lunch on a Friday. We both had the lunch for $28 special which includes a starter, main, and giant cookie. The food was delicious and the servings were big. We couldn't even come close to finishing our meals, never mind the cookie. I had the bao slider and lettuce wraps and my lunch mate had the dragon rolls and chick'n and waffles. The bao bun was so fluffy and fresh and the stuffing was flavourful and crispy. Arguably the best I've had. The dragon rolls were also delicious and fresh. The lettuce wraps came with Brussel sprouts, tofu, cilantro and pickled ginger in and spicy and sweet sauce. The chick'n was fried mushrooms on a cornbread waffle. Huge and delicious. The restaurant itself is quite charming and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Great drinks and service, food was just ok! I really wanted to like PLANTA more than I did. We were part of an event booking with a set menu and everything was lacking flavour or just not hitting the mark. I had the lych please and herb your enthusiasm and both drinks were 10/10! Personally, I don't like the texture or flavour of cashew cheese and this was in both the pizza (which wasn't that bad, it was used sparingly, didn't do much for the pizza anyway) and the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was ok, chips were good but the dip just seemed overly acidic, nothing special. The thousand layer potatoes were pleasant, not the best potato pave I've had but not bad! The stuffed mushrooms were pretty good, kind of tasted very similar to the spinach artichoke dip, which is disappointing when you're paying $75 a head for the food alone! The pizza was decent, good crust and pesto had good flavour. The pasta was lacking in flavour, just tasted very plain and not spicy at all. The bang bang broccoli was probably my favourite, good peanut / chili sauce but the batter made the broccoli really hard as it sat. The lettuce wraps were average, gochujang was nice but overall it just didn't have the punch you'd expect! The dessert felt very much like the frozen desserts you get from Costco and thaw to serve.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Tried the chorizo pizza. For those that don't know this place is 100% vegan. The chorizo was made from potato I believe and the cheese was cashew based. The crust was a perfect Neapolitan style and the taste was truly awesome. The taste was not what I was expected but it was nothing short of great. It combined some mild heat, a little sweetness, some nutty flavour, fresh basal, onion slivers, tomato sauce and some other herbs. It was a really complex mix of flavours compared to any other pizza I've had but I absolutely loved it. I'll have to go back to try more menu items.

This is my first vegan experience in Toronto! The location in Yorkville was lovely and beautiful. There is even a larger room for large events. The location is confidently right across the Bay Street Station. We decided to go during their Happy Hour brunch on a Wednesday. The waiters were very helpful and nice and gave us great recommendations from the menu, some we had to order because they were very popular and get sold out very easily, like the Bang Bang Broccoli dish. The Torch and Press was really good especially with the miso truffle glaze on top. The 1000 layer crispy potatoes was pleasantly and surprisingly delicious with the coconut sour cream and vegan caviar on top. For the mains, I decided to go with the Avocado Lime Tartare whereas my friends got the burger. Be prepared - the burger is massive! Overall, the experience is amazing and happy to go back for more!

his is a wonderful place that is really tasty. I am a non-vegan but often need to find vegan restaurants in the city for family and friends. This place is really tasty, but like all places small portions carry large price tags. If you can see past that, because eating out these last few years has become a luxury rather than just a thing to do, you'll be fine. The flavours are superb, it appeals to the vegan and non-vegan alike, and it's a great atmosphere for families or friends who want to hang out and chat.

**ATTENTION** THIS IS AN ALL VEGAN RESTAURANT My husband and I were looking for a bite to eat after a long travel morning and we happened upon Planta. Based on the name I thought it was a healthy chose and the yelp pictures looked like they had some good options. We were surprised when we found out EVERYTHING on the menu is Vegan. I mean, it says tuna, but it's made of beets. There is also bacon...made of mushroom? We were staving so we gave it a shot. The french fries were pretty good - need a little extra truffle but the sauce was savory. And the no-noodle lasagna had some good taste to it. Not usually our vibe, but for vegan food it was pretty good. All together it was about $40 US so a but expensive for no meat, but Toronto isn't a cheap city lol. Service was good and it's a very modern contemporary ambiance. All in all, a good choice if you want a light meal and you are into vegan options.

The restaurant is quite impressive. They git a good ambiance, mostly they do require reservations. We reserved a table for dinner. Servers are quite accommodating. It could be a casual place for friends get together or date place. You can find a quiet spot just some background music playing. I got some recommendations for Jain items, we can order here (listed in photo marked as M meaning can be modified per Jain requirements). They were able to find items that can be made without onion, garlic and potatoes. Happy hour starts at 8.30pm and it closes at 9ish so that's tricky. Beware, that won't modify anything in happy hour menu. Unfortunately tomato sauce contains garlic so Jain foodies or sensitive stomach folks we can't get pizza here

It's a vegan restaurant and they have more menu options right from salads to sandwiches. Tried their Unagi Eggplant Nigri and mushroom bacon Inari sushi. Both of them tasted good but my favorite was the unagi Eggplant. Also got to try their five layer dessert filled with almond, raspberry/cherry flavors. I didn't like it much as it was too sweet. But the Vietnamese iced coffee was good. Service was exceptional as they kept checking out every now and then. Must try if you want some Vegan food!

Love the vibe and decorations here. Nice table setup, great service too. Edamame Dumplings - So-so. There was a hint of wasabi inside, could have been the ginger, not much of taste, but good that the wrap wasn't so thick. Japanese Sweet Potato - Only saw a bunch of cilantros on top, didn't see much sweet potatoes underneath. Teriyaki Salad - I liked the nori chips, pretty crispy, mushroom was a good ingredient too, but too much cabbage, could have added more green varieties. Would come back someday to try other dishes. Food (quality, presentation) - 3/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 4.5/5 Ambience (interior, cleanness) - 5/5 Service - 4.5/5 Value - 4.5/5

This is a mini update for the brunch offering here. After being disappointed with the dinner here somehow I ended here for the brunch. Personally I expect brunch spots to be sub par to par level with rare visit warranted space. This place rates at par especially with the value proposition. The prices are very reasonable for brunch for this area. I tried the French toast the first visit and sampled the banana waffles a little. Both are acceptable for what vegan food is. There is a surprise here and there in the taste profile as is the case with vegan food. One can order from the main menu as well. I tried the burger and fries combo both decent. I also saw endless drink promo add on (Mimosa or Sangria) though I didn't partake. 3 stars and a surprise value for brunch

Fab vegan place with great ambiance. Small portions for certain dishes but my personal favourite nonetheless

The food was delicious especially the lemonade and caesar salad. I recommend the lunch special- salad, sandwich and cookie. I would've given it 5 stars but the leather booth seating needs to be replaced, it was torn and in need of replacement.

Planta Yorkville is an amazing place to dine. I love their dishes, each and every one of them. My favorites being: the carbonara and thousand-layer potato. The staff is so friendly and accommodating to diet and allergy needs. The restaurant itself is beautiful and welcoming, with dark, intimate ends of the restaurant but also full and cozy tables for families looking to enjoy a meal together. Highly recommend.

I was a little hesitant to come in due to the mixed reviews, but decided to take a shot and we are very glad we did. The location is gorgeous and the service was fantastic - akin to what one would experience at a high end restaurant, which is what it seems they're mostly going for. Loved the food, especially the bang bang broccoli. I will definitely be seeking out some of the other Planta locations in the near-future.

Toronto. Seems upscale vegan place but service is extremely slow. One server for the whole restaurant and after she took our drink order she forgot us. Everyone around us ordering and eating and we can't get our order taken. The men's restroom needs attention. The urinals are disgusting. Not sure why because I see almost as many men as I do women, but you have to hold your breath when you use it. The food was good my wife and mom said, both having vegan lunch. Me I was there for a beer and the truffle fries. Very disappointed in the fries. Many inedible because of hardness, and three of us picked at it (large bowl, and only one of us tasted truffle oil. I was eating from all over the bowl but I think the drops were dead center. Maybe two, three drops at best. Come to my house. I make truffle fries too. Truffle oil and pieces. I wanted my vegan wife to have a good meal in a foreign city, it was worth at least the four rating because she and mom said it was fine, and yummy. Service and fries for me - 1

I came here with my friends and I love that PLANTA is accommodating to all sorts of dietary restrictions! This restaurant is really aesthetic, from the cutlery to the seating! Most places when they have great interior design, I tend to get disappointed with the food. PLANTA surely does not disappoint! I don't eat veggies as much as I should, and I'm surprised that the veggies here doesn't even taste like veggies! We ordered the bang bang broccoli and Japanese sweet potato for appetizers. All I can say is that they're so delicious! It's an absolute must order! The broccoli was so crispy and the sauce complimented it well. It was like a peanut sweet chilli sauce. The Japanese sweet potato had so much umami flavor! I forgot what the sauce was but it tasted kind of like truffle ! For my main, I ordered the pad Thai slaw with crispy mushroom (extra $4). I was surprised since pad Thai is generally warm. The noodles were cold! I loved the crispy mushrooms! They were savoury and crunchy! I also love the taro chips added on top. As for my friends meals, they ordered the carbonara and the lettuce wraps. Lettuce wrap was with fried tofu and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good but heavily doused in sauce. It was also very big portion and my friend couldn't finish it. For the carbonara it tastes exactly like typical carbonara. I'm not sure what they did but it tasted like pork but there were no pork. I would say PLANTA is a safe choice to try carbonara if you eat halal, since almost every where else has pork in their carbonara. Overall, I really recommend this restaurant! Although it's plant based only, I had a great experience! All the food was good! Only cons were that it is a bit pricey. But nonetheless I think it's great to come occasionally! There's other PLANTA locations too with different themes and I'm very excited to try them as well

This is a trendy chain of restaurants, each with its own theme of vegan and vegetarian items. This location has an Asian fusion theMe. I found the items to be quite simple and a little bit over price for what it was. For example, you can get deep fry broccoli with Asian sauce for $15, or you can get a plate of six dumplings for $15. Having said the staff are quite friendly and delicious. It was just a little bit on the pricey end. Compared to a lot of other restaurants this is actually good value for money. It just always feels different as an East Asian person, to be eating Asian fusion when it is things you grab eating that might be quite cheap to buy served at a substantial Mark up... but it was well prepared

I got the bang bang brocolli the waitress was kind sat us down, recommended the bang bang brocolli, it was crispy, had a unique sauce, I want to try the other location for the dessert, a bit pricy for the portion size they gave, but the brocolli was crispy, the sauce was good, the ambiance was nice very fancy and elegant place, I heard this place gets packed at night we came here lunch time and there was a lot of seating, maybe if I tried another dish it would change my perspective, I will give the other location a chance because I admire what they are doing, it hard to make plant based food attractive and taste good so this place is a plus for that, I will try the other location and try the dessert because that looks awesome, in terms of improvement service was on point maybe add that dessert from the other location in this location

Planta seems to never miss a beet! It has certainly been a while since I visited this upscale plant-based trailblazer in Toronto. Planta did not disappoint; great service, attention to detail, quality dishes and modern ambiance. Exactly the way I remember the restaurant. Planta's attention to detail is next to none. They managed to provide a menu based on dietary needs and allergies (this was a first in all my dining experience). I was impressed! The staff was attentive and seems to be a fun-gi. Food was delicious and inventive. The best part is my non-veg companion said the rose pasta dish was extremely cheesy! For a dish with san-cheese, that is a great accomplishment! I adored the innovative planty Japanese sweet potatoes with torched miso sauce and furikake. The udon with freshly shaved truffles was equally as impressive. My companion really enjoyed the sour cherry cheesecake. Bad puns aside, I am rooting for this plant forward restaurant! Keep up the green work!

Still a fan, although it's not as five star as I remember it to be last time. First off service was amazing and consistent as always. Planta continues to be an amazing spot for vegan and vegetarian food in Toronto. Ambience was on point as always. I'm not sure if they increased pricing, but it felt pricier this time? Perhaps because of the fact ive only been getting cheaper takeout for the last year and half? Lettuce wraps were DIY style. Everything tastes great. Planta burger was also a party favourite - the lasagna was good but portion size was small. I'd skip that one and maybe go for the Habibi again, or a pizza. All in all still a solid spot. always a fave! I've been coming here for years now, probably since they opened up tbh lol. I can pick anything and it'll taste good. the prices aren't too cute but the dishes do not ever disappoint me so it's worth it. they fill me up pretty quickly. they have another queen location and that's always a good experience too. I'll always come back!

Still one of the best vegan restaurants in Toronto. Decided to visit on a Saturday morning for brunch with drinks. On sat and sun they offer bottomless mimosa or red sangria for $25. In comparison to other yorkville locations, this is quite the steal! Our order: - Burger - Was just as impressive as the first time I've tried it at the queens location. - Campanelle pasta - This was fine! Didn't taste bad but expected more flavour and creativity from planta. Overall a big fan of Planta and will always revisit.

It's one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to. I'm NOT even vegan. The ambiance was also perfect. I ordered the pizza, I could barely tell it was vegan cheese, and the pasta was creamy. I recommend it if you're looking to try something new.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! Planta is a fantastic vegan restaurant, my fave and I've been to a few when hanging out with my vegan friends. If you take them here they can order anything off the menu, how nice is that? And if you are not vegan, you will like it too! Must try item here is the soft serve, is soooooo gooood and something to eat on the way home if you are picking up an order. The ice cream is coconut, and the perfect texture, available in a cone or cup. Then come the toppings, omg!!! so good!! The raspberry, bright red, so intense, then there's chocolate topping that runs down the ice cream and solidifies at the bottom of the cup with the coldness of the ice cream, add peanuts and you've got a meal! The pizzas look amazing, with plenty of comments on the crust. I've avoided most of the dishes here due to a cashew allergy, but do like the lettuce wraps with those nice little Brussels sprouts that have the bitterness balanced out by the sweet sauce they were rolled around in. Excellent with kimchi and tart picked cucumber slices and cilantro to top it off. You can order ahead but I've always just showed up and ordered and didn't have to wait too long. Just make sure to ask for the soft-serve first so you can hang out and take in the beautiful splendor that is Planta-Yorkville in downtown Toronto on Bay Street.

Healthy veggie options. Creative presentation and interesting variation on pizza. We ordered an appy and pizza which was surprisingly tasty. I'm not a fan of vegetarian food and I thought Planta was just a cool name but the menu was all plant-based food. The food was excellent, the price was fair but the service was on the rude side. They were trying to hurry us out even when the restaurant was only 70% to capacity. They delivered the bill to us before we finished eating, took my plate away when i wasn't finished and then came by with the machine as we were finishing our dessert. We asked them if they needed our table (we've only been there about an hour). The staff need to be better trained on etiquette.. and oh, there were no soaps in the bathrooms at 7pm (early in the evening) which usually means their employees may not be washing their hands.

Great food. Good service. But it was hot and stuffy - too many people packed into the dining room. Couldn't get out fast enough.

A rare find! A fabulous vegetarian restaurant that serves good looking and yummy tasting fusion. Italian vegetarian food, a real gem in town.

Visited Planta's Yorkville location for a friends birthday brunch. I ordered their banana waffles which is part of their weekend brunch menu. The banana waffles was topped with slices of bananas, pecans, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Overall, I wasnt too impressed with this because it tasted like your typical banana cake but in a waffle form. I would definitely try the planta burger though if i ever come back again because I heard good things about it!

Our service was very slow. The server was friendly and apologetic about this. However, we had limited time on a weekday at lunch, and even our water glasses were not filled for the first 30 minutes of being seated. Our food was very mediocre. I eat a lot of vegan/vegetarian food and this was nothing memorable. Lettuce wraps were very awkward to eat and plated poorly. Everything was very mediocre. Was very disappointing ):

I came for lunch on a Saturday. They have a brunch menu on weekends, but the all day menu was much more varied so I chose onion soup and lettuce wraps. I found that the portions were generous considering the price and location. Everything tasted delicious. I've been going since it opened. It has been consistent since it's beginning days.

My friend is vegetarian and had just gotten a promotion so I wanted to treat her to something nice. I've always wanted to try Planta and tonight was the night! Such a beautiful spot and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. I loved all the options on the menu. We got a couple different cocktails. The peach don't kill me vibe was the favourite for sure. Even the glassware is gorgeous. We got the cauliflower tots. I heard they were amazing and wow. I could have just gotten three orders of those to share and been happy. Yum! We also got the Caesar salad. Wow! The "bacon" was sooo good. We also got the habibi but didn't realize it was another salad. We thought it was just a cold appy. That's the only part I wish out server had pointed it out to us. They were two HUGE salads (so great for the money) but...we did t realize what we were ordering. For the finally course we shared the mushroom udon. Really wonderful flavour. Looking forward to going again and trying some of their other items.

I'm always a fan of trying vegan restaurants and Planta has always been on my list. So glad I came with a few friends to try a variety of dishes! The GOOD: -UDON NOODLES (bouncy noodles, rich sauce and very mushroomy) -TRUFFLE PIZZA (thin dough and bouncy crisp crust! If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have guessed that the creamy cheesy sauce was actually cashew cheese!) -BANG BANG BROCCOLI -WATERMELON AHI (amazing!!) & UNAGI EGGPLANT NIGIRI The MEH: -PATATAS BRAVAS -SPAGHETTINI ALLA CARBONARA (the pasta felt too underdone and didn't seem to soak up the flavours) -SHAKSHUKA (falafel with bland-ish tomato sauce, it didn't pack enough of that Middle Eastern spice and smokiness) I love the creativity with food, the ambiance was pretty nice, but I felt the waiters were a tad snobbish. Overall, I would definitely consider coming back to try more dishes!

Planta is my go-to vegan spot. Their creamy truffle udon is amazing and the atmosphere is lively. The staff are so friendly and regularly refilled my water without me asking. The dessert was amazing as well, an amazing job substituting the coconut milk for the dairy in the ice cream. I highly recommend going here if you haven't already!

Three of us went to Planta. The food and ambience were excellent!! I'm not much of a vegan but this is my daughter's favourite restaurant, so took the plunge. I was stunned at how good the food was! They even make an in-house spicy oil sauce that was great. The roasted broccoli was the highlight of our meal. Very crispy, flavourful, wonderful texture - definitely a 10/10. Our server, Jordan, was fantastic. Very attentive, without being overbearing. Lettuce Wraps (gochujang tofu & brussels sprouts, pickled ginger, peanuts, vermicelli noodles, coriander, thai basil) The Italian Job pizza (tomato sauce, cashew mozzarella, farro, fennel, roasted garlic, mushrooms) Roasted Broccoli (Tahini, guajillo sauce, currants, coriander) Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and almond brittle topping The reason, I am giving Planta a score of 3 is the hostess. I have eaten in more than 1,000 restaurants and she is probably the most unfriendly person I have ever met. The hostess is a restaurant's brand ambassador! She needs to welcome guests at the front door with a smile...such a disappointing start to our meal!

After hearing about how great it was - so much so that burger-only restaurants were spun off - one bite into the mushy patty left much to be desired. There were some good qualities: it was hearty with the thick queso and truffle mushroom sauce; and generally, it tasted nice. But it lacked texture... everything was so soft that my 90-year old grandmothers would have no trouble biting through these babies. The soft bun and delicate lettuce didn't make it any better - maybe if either an element of crunch it would help the main. At least the fries were amazing: hot from the fryer, crispy as ever, and tossed with just enough salt. We hungrily devoured these. Overall, it just wasn't an impressive meal. While the warm rapini salad tastes better than it looked, when the plate of butter lettuce topped with chopped wilted rapini arrived, I was momentarily taken aback that a restaurant would be okay with serving a dish that looks like one I'd make at home. Looks aside, it was an okay salad, the warm rapini enhanced with olive and sun-dried tomatoes so the greens were actually flavourful. I just wished there was more of it to go around. The only dish I'd get again is the young Thai coconut dessert. The passionfruit sorbet was a great balance of tart and sweetness and the coconut &chia seed pudding added a lovely creaminess. Although it appears fairly simple, the tropical flavours were such a blessing during the dead of winter.

Very chic, popular, date night, place. Most vegetarian/vegan places are very functional and spartan. This place feels like a retro bistro/Asian fusion joint... very nice. Then the food. My goodness!!! Everything is prepared fresh, cooked perfectly and exactly as described in the menu. The prices are mid. Definitely dress up, take your lady here and enjoy. So nice!!

Wow! Everything was delicious! We ordered lasagna, cauliflower tots, avocado tartare, 3 sushi's and lavender sour. They are all so good!

My first vegan restaurant! My food experience there was great. I was nervous to try because I usually don't pick vegetarian/vegan food thinking it won't taste great but it changed my perspective. My friend and I did sharing so we ordered the Avocado beet tartare in large, Frenchie pizza and the eggplant lasagna: -The tartare was surprisingly flavourful than expected. It was quite expensive since we got the large size ($22) though the taro chips were over cooked -Frenchie pizza was amazing! Loved the combination of mushrooms, squash and arugula. I find the crust is a little too thick but very big and filling than expected -Eggplant lasagna was yummy as well. It was stuffed with quinoa, potatoes and zucchini and lastly wrapped with eggplant. Not a fan of eggplant but I love it now cause of this dish. The service was good. Our waitress was really nice but not the hosts wasn't. Prior to this visit I came another day to see if a table is available for dinner and she said no and there's a wait for an hour. I wanted to confirm with my friend first. Came back to her and she was like who told you that. I said you did (how did you forget someone with in 15 mins...) So the wait got longer so we just left. We came back last night and it was the same host and yet with the same rude attitude. Why I'm giving it a 4/5.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. I'm new to exploring vegan food and this place definitely introduced me to some very tasty dishes. My favorite was avocado lime tartare. Also I tried stuffed mushrooms which were delicious as well as eggplant lasagna. The decor was beautiful and very stylish. The service was great. I really enjoyed my time and I would love to come back.

Toronto is becoming my second home, and I'm not gonna complain as it allows me to discover the culinary scene of this awesome city. This past year, I ventured quite a lot in everything related to vegan cuisine, because it arouses my curiosity for several reasons. Planta has been on my bucket list for quite a while, and as I had some alone time, I took the opportunity to visit it on a Wednesday afternoon around 1. The room was not full at that time and I was seated very quickly. I ordered the Avocado Lime Tartare with a side of truffle fries and a homemade kombucha. The tartare really surprised me, I wasn't expecting that much flavour and the crisp was just perfect, I loved it. Also as basic and simple it may seem, I loved their truffle fries, they were not too greasy, fresh and the truffle almond parmesan was excellent. The service was courteous all along, my cellphones were out of battery and the waitress cordially offered me a charger. I highly recommend if you are in the area!

Amazing vegan restaurant! I'm not vegan but a friend recommended this place. I would 10/10 recommend the vodka pizza and truffle fries. The restaurant vibes are stunning and so cozy. I took away a star because the service was slacking. Our waiter asked us what we wanted to order but in the middle interrupted us and went to the table beside just to ask how their food was. Waited quite a bit to order but the food itself was delicious!

Very good service. Great ambiance. The food was well made. The only thing was that we were basically kicked out because we made it there for the last seating. Other than that a good experience

The brown curtain/door entering into the restaurant isn't a great idea as customers bring in the cold air. And we definitely felt it in our legs as we sat near the hostess area. I would have preferred a table way inside for some warmth on a freezing day. The washroom is upstairs and it's welcoming as you walk through a small hallway. It's clean and classy. The service was decent but nothing to be amazed at. Table for 5 - Winterlicious 2020 menu was provided. The onion soup was interesting and it could be hotter in temperature. The salad had a nice vinaigrette to it and it had sun-dried tomatoes!! For the main dish, I got fungi pizza which lacked toppings and colouration. The crust was half burned so I couldn't enjoy it. Overall it was good but I've had better veggie pizza somewhere else with lots of toppings. My partner had the veggie burger and he said it was decent. The fries filled him up so I'm thankful he didn't complain of being hungry. For dessert, I got the Thai coconut milk passion fruit sorbet mix and it was certainly a surprising taste - that I wanted more of it!! Small portion compared to the cookie and vanilla ice cream dessert from my partner. Of course, he devoured it. The ice cream was hard, not melty compared to my sorbet. Overall, I had great company in a nice clean chic atmosphere to enjoy lunch. Yes I would go back to try their other dishes. Just don't get their pizzas.
