Planted Cafe is your favorite local community cafe located in Carrol Gardens. They also have a variety of plants for sale and the best priced pots for our green friends. They recently acquired their a liquor license. Planted now has a fantastic selection of wine and beer. Everything they have is vegan-base and gluten free, great treats and the best cup of Joe in the neighborhood. From a superfood latte to cashew ricotta toast, they have it all! My first time visiting today. Loved it - Immaculate vibes, yummy food and great energy! I had the egg sandwich, not my favorite but still good. I also got the pecan pie (so so so recommend!) and the soup of the day, a zucchini coconut milk and jalapeño mix: really yummy. PLANTED has very calm and quiet vibes. I got a lot of my work done today and I’ll definitely be returning in the spring and summer when it’s warmer.

Planted is amazing! The jackfruit tacos, all the sauces, the tostadas, the drinks are all delicious. But arguably even more exciting than the food is the new infrared sauna/ plunge/ hot tub experience in the garden! I worked at Area Yoga more than 20 years ago and to come back to Smith Street and hang in a hot tub on a cool spring day was a life-changing experience. From there, it was going back and forth between the sauna and the not-too cold plunge. Heavenly! In a way only Loretta could pull off, the details are immaculate and you will leave the garden fully restored, relaxed, detoxed and ready to face another busy Brooklyn day.

Beautiful green cafe! If being surrounded by plants and writing in a chill vibe is your thing—I’d definitely recommend this place. Food and drinks are tasty! The vegan egg sandwich is delicious, as is the latte, and power bowls. Staff is friendly, and the backyard space is a nice little touch. + they sell edibles!

Where can you purchase coffee, vegan food and plants all at the same time, right here at The Planted Cafe. They have beautiful plants throughout the business. The decor is beautiful and inviting. There is comfortable seating in the back and plenty of outdoor seating. Beau was very helpful and friendly. My matcha latte was absolutely delicious and the banana chocolate muffin as well. They are currently having a plant sale which will take 20% off your purchase. I enjoyed my visit to Planted.

Cute spot with friendly people that work there. I’ve been a few times, and had a few different gluten free dishes and desserts. A few reviews have commented on the prices, but I honestly think it’s cheaper than some of the other places in the area, and much higher quality. My partner has also purchased some pots here for our plans, and they look great. I’m happy to support this neighborhood spot! There is also a cute backyard, but (as with most of brooklyn) it can be buggy depending on the time of day.

The best spot. Spot on service, super helpful staff, and great vibes. Wifi is strong and there are outlets for co-working! Also great beverage selection ranging from coffees to wines and a section of books and board games and a lovely backyard!

Had a very great experience here with my partner at their hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. The host was really nice & the cafe looks very pretty. They close at 8pm but the host allowed us to stay until 9pm which was fun

The food is delicious and ingredients super fresh every time we order from here. We know we're going to have an excellent and healthy meal whenever we get Planted.

Suchhhh a cool spot! Randomly found it while waiting for our reservation for lucali. Spent an hour or so working, wifi is great and also had a jerk chicken taco which was incredible. The aesthetic and set up of the place is amazing for coworking, catching up with friends and reading. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area for sure. Also the owner and barista were great! Super friendly and helpful

What a find. Entering Planted is like entering a calming glade, from the verdant plant displays outside to the hanging plants and plant misters at the entrance, giving way to a friendly face at the counter. I love that this place is vegan and prioritizes whole foods, health, and the environment by sourcing locally. Their menu is seasonal and delicious. Surrounded by all the plants, it creates a pretty cool space. I had the mushroom latte and a brownie. Mushroom lattes seem to be a thing in NYC. Since moving here, I've only had it once. Trying it at Planted made it legit. It was creamy with a nice depth of flavor. As for the brownie, I'll let the picture speak for itself. Awesome goodness. On the way out, I took advantage of their sale and grabbed a couple of plants to decorate the new digs with. You can say I'm a bit more planted in NYC now. Har har...

The veggie burger is so good! I like that it doesn't try to be a fake meat burger. Perfect balance of flavors, even the gluten-free bun. Most of the food here is really good; except I'm not a fan of the cashew cheese texture. They do really good espresso drinks, and at least half of their customers are here to get CBD/THC products or plants. It's a fun place to hang out because of all of the plants, and there's outdoor seating. Service is excellent, and they care about details like presentation and cloth napkins(!). Pay cash or card (there's a discount for cash?). Restroom for customers. It's accessible from the street although the floor inclines a bit at the register area. Prices are what you'd expect for this neighborhood.

Holy smokes the jackfruit tacos are AMAZING! They were perfectly seasoned and juicy. I had them with a lavender kombucha -- which was also quite good. My friend and I sat at a table in the back -- It was a bit of a buggy evening, but it was quite quiet and easy to relax. I'll certainly be back to try other things on the menu.

The mushroom and huevos rancheros are awesome - highly recommend. The cookies are really good as well.

Love that everything is vegan with cashew milk by default vegan and gluten-free! I came here about 3 times in my one-week visit to NYC (stayed in Manhattan but still came here as my go-to in Brooklyn). I can name the handful of places that use homemade milks for their lattes and I treasure these spots so dearly! I will say the food is pretty typical of a scratch-made vegan - aka typical of something new vegans would make at home. So its not a gourmet fine dining meal. This is more of a spot you would come to visit plants, hangout at the cafe, enjoy the boho environment and chill with a kombucha. Fresh summer rolls - they put all other rice paper rolls from Vietnamese restaurants to shame! They do an amazing job here with marinating the veggies first so each bite is a burst of refreshing flavor, and it's filled with various textures and flavors. That's a huge one for me. And the dipping sauce was also so good that we used it for the other dishes as well. I was really interested and curious about the cashew egg they used in their egg sandwich and Planted Rancheros so I would highlight that as a unique item to try since many places use tofu or Justegg for their scramble. So brownie points to them for using cashew! I preferred the Planted Rancheros over the egg sandwich though since the bread didn't seem to hold the eggs together very well. So it was nice to just use the chips to scoop the filling instead. I tried their Mushroom latte, Regular latte and tumeric latte. I would definitely recommend the regular one first because it had a nice roasted taste from the espresso. But if you're looking for something slightly sweeter (the cashew milk is naturally sweet already from cashew's inherent sugars), the Mushroom and Tumeric lattes have more of a sweet spice taste. I like coming here to just sit, catch up on work and enjoy a latte. Sadly each time I was here I was in a time crunch and had to leave pretty quickly but if I ever move to the area this would be my go-to spot to do work. Food recs: Planted rancheros and Summer Rolls

WOW! A GF vegan cafe that has a hot tub and sauna?!? I can't believe this exists and it's all I ever wanted. Thank you to the staff for making it such a memorial experience. I will be back for sure and also community days are coming.

Loved this place. It is literally a giant greenhouse and i feel more at peace in here lol -- just being surrounded by greenery, good vibes, that smell of wood, and great staff! Per recommendation, I ordered the: Rose Matcha w Cashew Milk: deliciousssss. the rose isn't overbearing and the cashew milk is... chef's kiss. amazing! the matcha tastes like actual real matcha -- not over sweet or artificial. Carrot Pecan Muffin: can't believe it's actually vegan! lol. it has a great moist texture, lovely flavor and again -- not too sweet. the staff was really nice and helped recommend some stuff for me. i also ended up buying some plants because how could you not :) they have a sale section in the back so be sure to walk around the whole place. overall, loved this place and glad i ended up here. can't wait to try everything else!

It was a hot summers day when i chanced upon this cute shop nestled in the bosom of brooklyn. Healthy plants leaned against its huge windows. I had to check it. Great selection of plants at reasonable prices. Besides the flora, they also sell libations and foods. The first thing i ordered was the ice latte with cashew milk and it was delicious. That was three months ago? And i have been coming back ever since for treats and drinks. :) highly recommended.

I had some green creamy vegan soup and the Cashew egg sandwich with kale, carrots, avocado... OMG!!! Perfect nurturing meal on a cold winter day. Mellow music... beautiful vibe. Plants, pillows, reclaimed wood... beautiful walls. I'm sated, happy... and ready to kick back with a yoga class. Fabulous! Delicious!

Planted cafe's new backyard spa is INCREDIBLE! I spotted a sign out front advertising their hot tub and wandered in to learn more. What I found was a luxurious and serene oasis in the middle of Brooklyn, a seemingly too well-kept secret. I came back with my sweetie a few days later and we brought one of Planted's delicious juices out back and spent over an hour drifting between their perfect hot tub, infrared sauna (with bluetooth speakers!) and cold plunge. I could have spent another hour there! The staff were so kind and generous and made us feel so cared for. Bring a water bottle and a swimsuit, and you're good to go for an afternoon of complete bliss.

YUM!!!! The service was great, the food was delicious, and wowie... I was in heaven; it's all gluten free and vegan, and full of plants. I love the place so much, I wish it was closer to my apt because I can't have dairy, nor gluten, and I was already a vegetarian, so I'm full vegan now. I bought the chocolate and banana muffin, ate half of each and saved the remaining halves to bring back to my fiancé, who has celiac. I got the zucchini noodles bowl and a tea for lunch and my friend got the red quinoa bowl. We both loved our meals, super clean and fresh food. I also got a pot for my 'cousin it' plant!!

LOVED the beet latte! Absolutely delicious- and a great menu with flavorful soups and salads. Relaxing vibes inside (lots of plants, for sale) and additional tables outside.

Mildly expensive but cute little cafe in Carroll Gardens to bring your favorite book or friend to enjoy a spiced chai latte. So many plants and different types of pottery in which they bring out delicious pastries and drinks in. Very comforting to walk into on a cold winter day.

What an amazing vegan, gluten free cafe! The service and food were absolutely top notch. Bambi went above and beyond to make our meal a seamless experience. I highly recommend the avocado toast!

Vegan-topia. Yummy, small portioned vegan food w/ flavor! Expensive for the portion size. My $8 strawberry, mint etc juice was not juice, but a smoothie. Yummy but it is not made in a juicer. There were chunks of berry, which are fine, but call a smoothie a smoothie...not juice! It's fine to be a smoothie. My soup of the day, tortilla soup was excellent, flavorful with chunks of "cheese" & tortilla crisps. Loved it. Husband liked his veggie burger, especially the spicy sauce. It was served on sliced bread which made for a difficult hold without making a mess. A roll would be better but maybe we're just lacking in burger coordination. Overall, great all day breakfast and lunch spot. The serene music made me feel like I was getting a massage, so I took off my clothes. Was that wrong!?

Planted Cafe is a super cute vegan cafe. As implied by the name, there are a variety of plants decorating the space. There's a lot of natural light towards the front and it creates a very welcoming work environment. I ordered the rancheros and it was absolutely delicious- very flavorful and the perfect serving size for a meal. So why not 5 stars? The service. It wasn't slow. But it was so terribly unfriendly. I don't expect people to bend over backwards for me, but a smile would be cool? Especially when I smile first. I just felt really awkward and like I wasn't welcome in the space. I thought I just caught this person on a bad day, but then I saw them laughing and chatting with another customer. It didn't feel great.

I was craving some muffins when one of my friends recommended this place. So after class decided to check the place out with a friend. Was a little disappointed when we got there and found no available muffins on display. I was then given some good news by one of the staff. They can make more muffin but just have to wait half an hour to bake. Since we were not rushing to get home we waited for the muffins. For the meantime we ordered some avocado toast, jalapeño poppers, and smoothies. We sat on their outdoor sitting. Even encountered the neighborhood cat while hanging out there. So cute. Loved the avocado toast and poppers. Would definitely get more. Finally the muffins were ready. Oh my gosh. Their muffins were amazing. We ordered both banana and chocolate muffin. So worth wait. Each bite felt like happiness. I especially like their play area for the kids. Honestly didn't expect the water to come out in that tub. Will eventually come back soon.

This place is amazing - the garden out front and out back is gorgeous. The food and smoothies are world class. Highly recommend the Planted Rancheros with Avocado! The juices are quite thick and healthy - not super tasty, but super good for you. Not for everyone. Matcha and coffee were also average, but the food and smoothie made up for it.

"Egg" sandwich- this might be my favorite I order it everytime!, mushroom latte iced (the ice ruined the creaminess, rookie ordering mistake I'll never make again ), Rancheros good but I personally prefer the Egg Sandwich. Planted Tartar - so good. Watermelon tartar, seaweed, and avocado swimming in a spicy miso tartar. So delicious.This is my new favorite but more of an appetizer then an entree.

A bit pricey, but very good at least for the price you get a good product. Above and beyond customer service.

The cutest most delicious niched cafe for experimental health oriented plant lovers. Guacamole came with the stone hard chips. Chai Latte was a strange taste local mix, I couldn't drink.

I was excited to try food from this vegan cafe. I ordered delivery and the Impossible burger listed on Seamless turned out to be a black bean burger... and there was a hard inedible object in it resembling a pebble. Maybe the black beans were made from scratch? In that case, basic bean cooking 101 is to inspect your beans for pebbles! I was shocked. The side salad was tasty, but sad to say I am disappointed by the food quality. Sad face.

Don't believe the hype. Atmosphere is disingenuous and contrived. The food was mediocre at best. Most importantly- the owner, "Loretta G", is extraordinarily irresponsible. The day we were there, she was not wearing a mask and claimed that it didn't matter because she has antibodies. From less than mediocre food to extraordinarily, unacceptably irresponsible and selfish ownership, I can not think of a single good reason to patronize this cafe.

They have some of the best smoothies (with no added sugar) and the air is so clean, you feel it; feels therapeutic!

Best CBD latte I've ever had thank you so much, we needed this beautiful, cozy spot in Carroll Gardens! Plus free WiFi and lots of space to chill and get work done.

Visiting from Cali and I was DELIGHTED to find this little gem. I had the veggie burger, our daughter had the cashew egg sandwich, hubby had the ranchero plate. We shared it all, of course, and it was a wonderful balance of healthy and delicious. I also enjoyed the mushroom latte, and Although it wasn't on the menu they were gracious enough to make my daughter a hot chocolate with cashew milk. The ambiance is amazing. I don't think I've seen more green plants in any establishments. If I lived here I'd be a regular. I didn't have my phone with me inside so no pics available - but believe me, the food was plated beautifully.

Read the menu carefully before you order. The barista not helpfull and not frendly. Never going back there.

I know that online orders are every restaurant in Cafe's least favorite thing. And I did make a food order at around like 7 PM which I felt super guilty about when I realize that the place closes at 8 (so sorry!!!). But oh my gosh if that wasn't like the worst vegan gluten-free food I've ever had in my life? Completely bland. Absolutely no flavor. The Matcha latte? Don't ever get a Matcha latte from here. It's disrespectful to the culture that Matcha comes from, and it tastes so bad. I mean I'm not the snobbiest macho latte person, I've had oxidize Matcha before, but this was like drinking cement. I'm not even sure they used a bamboo whisk. The Matcha was a horrible oxidized, brownish, gray color, rather than a vibrant green, which is what it is supposed to be. Plus, it was very overpriced, if you were going to sell Matcha and price it that much then you better know what you're doing. They do not. I have learned my lesson and I will never ever order from here. Gluten-free does not have to mean horrible.

As a parent, it's hard to review this place. So I'll review in 2 parts. 1) The back area is fantastic (5 stars) for toddlers and parents. The little sitting benches, toys, books. It's a dream for every parent with an impatient toddler. I would love it if every restaurant had such an area for kids. If we weren't going anywhere that day, I could just drink coffee and play with my kid there all day. 2) The coffee was good, but the food sucked (2 stars). Also it didn't help that the server wasn't helpful. The avocados were partially black. My sandwich was filled with ingredients that immediately fell out as soon as I picked it up. It really should've been a wrap. But it also should have more flavor. Anyway, I might be back with my toddler one of these days but likely just get drinks and read her some books.

Was so excited to go here today! Had been once before with my mom and best friend and had the green breakfast smoothie which I loved. Today I had the blue breakfast smoothie and the rancheros. Unfortunately, my experience was soured a bit as when they called out the rancheros was ready it was a bit fast (about 10 minutes) but it's a cafe so I was excited. The server had also asked my name when I ordered but didn't call it when the food was ready but I noticed he hasn't called any names and just the food. So to be sure I waited a bit to make sure it was mine and that nobody else had ordered it and looked around for the counter person to make sure but they didn't say anything and nobody else came up to grab it . So I took my rancheros back to my fiancé. My smoothie came out and both was delicious but we were still waiting on my fiancés food which came out shortly after. Then, I overhear the employee tell another customer that I (that girl) "took your food and we're making another one sorry." Then the customer comes up to my fiancé and yells at him that he took his rancheros (lol) I responded that I had also ordered the rancheros and that I was sorry but I didn't know. It was a big ordeal. And i get why the other customer was bummed. But it's so inappropriate that the employee called me out and pointed at me which started a bigger ordeal. It was also extremely embarrassing and dampened our visit. I love the food too and had loved the employees and the environment last time. Unprofessional employee this time. Also, just use names?! The employee contributed to call out every order by what they ordered, rather than names, for the rest of our visit. It's pretty stupid and this could have been avoided. I've worked at multiple restaurants and we always use names. For this reason.

Great food - Friendly Service. I wish their menu was even bigger. Its really delicious in an OG vegan way,(i.e., low sugar, heavy on the turmeric and eastern spices) that I didn't realize how much Id missed until ate here. The dirty chai was naturally unsweetened with great spice- which is how they should be - IMO. And the chocolate brownie was the perfect combination of melt in your mouthy and chewy, super rich and satisfying. -- lastly, whatever time of day it is - get the rancheros!

I visited Planted Cafe for the first time yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. The vibe + service was wonderful and I love that it's all organic and vegan. I tried 6 things: 1) Huevos Rancheros - this was incredible! The cashew cheese/egg they make is unique and outstanding. Highly recommend getting this! 2) Blue Breakfast Smoothie - delicious 3) Horchata - even better than the smoothie, couldn't get enough of it! 4) Jackfruit tacos - wouldn't recommend these, too greasy 5) Red Quinoa bowl - pretty good, very healthy 6) Watermelon Kombucha - really tasty and refreshing They just opened a zero waste, vegan shop next door with all kinds of amazing stuff, well worth a visit!

Love this space. They have a backyard, a giant sink/tub in the back for some reason, and they sell CBD oils at the counter. So Brooklyn. Love the decor and the coffee!

Tried the Jackfruit Tacos and they were amazing. Not sure why the shell was on the greasy side but either way it was full of flavor!!!

This is a great, unique little spot in the neighborhood. Only place I know in the neighborhood that has fresh Kombucha on tap which they also sell in growlers (love that!). They also have a great selection of CBD products, good coffee and a very cute ambience with a cool little backyard. Everyone who works at Planted is also very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My first review was removed because Yelp claimed that they couldn't determine if I had been a customer at this place. I have been to the restaurant and the food and service is terrible, and I plan to never return. I also posted a link to an article about the terrible owner. I will refrain from posting the link again, but I will not refrain from speaking out against the tasteless food and terrible service. There are much better healthy food options in Brooklyn. Avoid this horrible restaurant!

This vegan cafe is absolutely amazing. You MUST go if you are in the area- vegan or not! The food is made with such intention and love. Their selections are diverse and their staff is educated. The vibe of this restaurant is clean, artsy and you'll just want to stay all day long. This was my favorite place I ate in all of Brooklyn while I was visiting for the weekend. My non-vegan friends thought so too!

well, the woman behind the counter didn't wear a mask (Sunday Nov 29) while speaking to us (and being with a very rude attitude) and no mask while making our drinks. also didn't gave the right order. their website shows open till 8, I got there at 6:30 and she was already began closing.. disrespectful

So overpriced! The nut milk was chunky and there was a hair cooked into my sandwich. The owner doesn't wear a mask and advises her employees not to either. No covid safety precautions, none! Steer clear of this spot. Plenty of other places to support in the community.

This place is the best! Great vibes and atmosphere! Staff super nice as well! Food is a heaven and drinks come fast.

This place has super great and creative vegan/plant based options. They make their own nut milks. They sell Sun Potion and CBD products. So far so good. My only gripe is that on weekends, for some reason they only employ one person to take your order...Who also happens to be making all the drinks as well. Poor girl was beyond overwhelmed and actually undercharged me (by a lot, a plus side for me, but not if they want to make a profit as a business) and she got my order wrong. Not to mention, the three other people walking up to the counter complaining that their orders were wrong. Not necessarily her fault, they were just understaffed and it all fell on her. Hire more people on weekends, fam. Faster turn-over. You'll make your costumers happy. Which equals repeat business.

A nice environment but awfully overpriced for what is basically cheap 1970s vegan food.
