"Playground Coffee Shop serves a lot of purposes for its Bed-Stuy community. It’s somewhere for cool chefs to make cool sh*t to eat, and it's also a queer & POC-focused bookstore and the home of an independent online radio platform called Playground Radio. "Food and fun is happening at Playground Coffee Shop this Thursday and Friday, when they kick off their monthly summer series Night in at Playground, featuring guest chef drop-ins and live entertainment. "This is a spot in Bed-Stuy with a bunch of wooden tables, and a nice leather couch in the back where you can attempt to not-awkwardly shift your body positioning so you’re facing each other while you talk. There’s a shelf area where you can buy books as well as coffee, and every purchase helps fund events like open mics and yoga classes.
