What a wonderful day! Haven't been here in years. We missed a great discount, but still saved with Groupon. Rides were fun, even for the older folks! Catch a Wave, Double Shot, both Flume rides were the best, and yes you do get drenched! Funnel cake was hot and delicious. Soft frozen lemonade was hard as a rock, and vendor didn't have any spoons. Some employees were sour, but most were friendly. Chicken tender vendor workers was so nice, and helpful. Food was good, even had vegan options. We meet the GM, Mr. Barrett. He was very personable, and informative. Exceptional fireworks display too. A+ Can't wait to go back

They may be closed by September 8 2024. I when there August 5 2024 the pool were closed the beach is so dirty inside the water is so nasty that I get a bacteria there you most be careful with your kids, and you have to pay 10- 15 dollar per person to get in. Parking good you have to pay 10- 20 dollars the games are open for different prices then the beach. outside food are welcome. Really clean bathrooms.

Amazing experience. Majority rides open. Beautiful gardens and waterfalls. My kids had an amazing time. The beach, museum and so many other activities . Highly recommend .

Google
Wonderful Park with great rides my twins love it. Great staff members, arcade games a super fun to play. I brought season passes for the Park, worth ever penny spent.. 2024 was awesome.

Google
Very clean, beautiful floral gardens with jugglers and butterflies on stilts. Still love the Whip for laughs and the mouse trap ride all scares me the most. The Dragon Coaster is one of the old time wooden coasters and they still one of the "laff in the dark" rides. I still think it has one of the best kiddie parks, with lots of toddler- friendly rides.

Google
Such a fun place! Our first time there and there were plenty of rides for kids in my children's range. (4-5). Lines were about 5-10min. long on average. Food a little pricey, Icee were $10, no kids meals, average meal $15-20pp.

Google
My kids are 6 and 8.5 years old, and we had a great time. The admission charge allows you to access all the rides, and it’s so convenient to pay only once. The Playland staff are all SO nice. They are really careful to make sure that everyone is secure in the seats before starting a ride. Very impressive!

Google
I just love coming here and bringing my children. My father used to bring me and my siblings to this park. Its not like one of this popular park, but here you feel like you are with your people, it makes it feel like a family Oriented vibes. I just love it and the kids have so much fun.

Yelp
Came here for the season kids Halloween thing. Brought back memories of camp outings here as a kid. Line was pretty fast getting in. Price was reasonably and, tbh, I prefer kid rides to "thrill rides" for adults. It was a morning well spent, and my son had a lot of fun, especially on the kid coaster and with the face painting. Playland is a no-frills classic, and a little saner than Coney Island.

Kit C.

Yelp
Omg. Funnel cake just horrible how do you call that a cake? Honestly the Ferris wheel wasn't any better. Literally saw 5 unscrewed screws. Do not come here. 1 star, you can do better.

Yelp
So the bottom line is this, it's a place you go to once a summer. Playland's been there for 1 million years. In the Park shows that. It's a lot of original rides and some new ones. The original rides really need a lot of love and care. The Dragon coaster, which is the main event, really needs to be sanded and painted. Generally speaking, they could easily spend $5 million upgrading the older rides. We went Tuesday at 6 PM and the Park was 80% empty so we didn't wait on any lines. If you go during prime time, expect to wait up to 20 minutes for a ride. That really cuts down on how many rides you're going to go to. If you decide to go on the water ride to get extremely. The staff are interesting. They appear to be mostly high school kids and 20 yr olds. Some of them are more invested in their job responsibilities than others. Lines ***** Parking $$$ Admission $$ Food $$$ Fun ***

Yelp
Love rye playland. I bought the season passes this year which is so worth it. Beach, pool, paddle boats, amusement park and parking free with the passes. Again so worth it!! Beach is clean, have yet to see it crowded. They have the inflatable slide on the beach you pay $5 and can have unlimited rides on it. Another kid favorite! Adults too!! Pool is updated and clean, they provide life jackets for kids if needed. The bathrooms and showers are also very clean. The splash pad is super cute and the Kids love it. The amusement park hasn't changed much but it's always a good time. The fireworks on Friday and Saturday at 9pm is simply beautiful, they do a really nice job. Boardwalk is always clean .. tiki bar at the end is awesome, great drinks, yummy food and beautiful views. Very friendly staff at the tiki bar. On that note Some of the workers typically the ones who sit behind the pool/beach ticket area can be more friendly. If you ask a question it seems your bothering them. A smile and a "have a nice day" goes a long way. But all in all I enjoy every-time I go.

Yelp
Playland is a Great Charming nostalgia Amusement Park. Great rides for kids. But the Staff is sad and Unmotivated. From the ticket booths to the Ride operators. They look at families like they are not welcome or not happy to see us. Some claim rides are closed where they just seem lazy to operate it. Their needs to be a "Happy" training or Guest representation class, cause Playland is a Happy place for families. And dealing with their staff feels unwelcoming.
google avatar

Alison D.

Yelp
While my family had a wonderful time enjoying the rides and attractions at the park, our overall experience was dampened by the disorganization of the staff and the lackluster food service. The park opened at 12, so we decided to grab food early to avoid the rush and spend the rest of the day enjoying ourselves. However, we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for two pepperoni pizzas, which weren't even made fresh. It was frustrating to see that nothing was prepared or ready, even though the park had just opened. Throughout the day, the situation didn't improve--many food items were sold out, unavailable, or the stands were closed early. This was extremely inconvenient, especially on a weekend when the park was busy. While we were glad the rides were available and that my family had fun, the lack of preparation and poor service really took a toll on the overall experience. For these reasons, I can only give this visit 2.5 stars, but since there aren't half stars, I'll settle for 3.
google avatar

Karl A.

Yelp
I gave it 2 stars but 2.5 would be closer to my review. It's a small park located in west Chester NY. The rides are a bit on the older side but still not bad considering. It's 20 a person and 10 for parking on weekdays which overall is a great price. The reason for the low rating is the age of the park, the size of the park, but more importantly their guests. Expects large groups on every ride and expect them to "save spots" turning a 10 min wait to a 20-30 min wait. It consistently happens. Otherwise....if you're in the area check it out...it's something to do.

Yelp
FOR MANAGEMENT!! Your systems need to improve! I've been going to Rye Playland since I was a child. I know it's an older park, old rides, nothing compared to Six Flags but it's a good one day get away for kids. The staff seems to not care and something always goes wrong, or they run out, or send you to the wrong place every time I go. It's getting worse! This summer, 2024, I went on Catch a Wave and yes the conductor mentioned take off loose items hats, etc. he said it once everyone was buckled in and ride about to go! A few people said is it ok to leave hats on floor he said yes. Some dropped caps on floor away from ride. The ride blew everything over into a small area in front. After the ride we went to get our stuff and the conductor said we're not allowed. He does this all the time and I'm sure knew that would happen. A group of us had to walk to services at the entrance! Fill out a report! The young girl reviewed our form and said someone will get back to you in a few days! We all said, we're not from here, our stuff is a few inches behind the gate do you have a poll or our kids can go over. They said no. We went back demanding to get our stuff we see right in front of us and refuse to leave it. Finally 45 minutes later a smaller worker went over and got it. The workers all had "smirks" on their faces, which made you angrier for your stuff. I think it's a scam cause they want the nice expensive Yankees hats. One dad said his hat was expensive and it was nice! The system of telling people we'll get back to you in your "lost" item when it's right in front of them is ridiculous. Ride operators should have long retrieval sticks if they know that happens.. and this operator clearly knew that was going to happen! On another day, the hot dog truck told us they ran out of hotdogs in the middle of afternoon and we can get hotdogs at the pizza stand across the park. OF COURSE when we get there they say we don't serve hotdogs!! Then we walked back to go to another truck and within that travel time of back and forth.. they were serving hotdogs again. You need a lot of patience in this place.

Yelp
This amusement park has been a childhood favorite of mine. Bringing my family felt special until our recent trip there. For $40 a wristband i rather go to six flags. I say this because they only had about 6 rides open on the adult side. My teenagers were bored after riding the same 6 rides over and over again. Then they removed the spectator pass, which is ridiculous because with my knee injury and my mother walking with a cane we both didn't want to get on rides. Then someone's kid got stuck on a ride so that one had to shut down as well. The food and drinks are over priced for limited service available at the park. $10 a soda. I will definitely not return unfortunately.

Maddie M.

Yelp
Big disappointment today. Looked at online reviews and thought that Playland had been upgraded. What I found was definitely what was in the pictures. More than half the rides in the kids play area were not open. Kids roller coaster just one loop. Arcade was the same old games they have always had, nothing new here. A lot of money for a poor experience. Save your money
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Great park. Beginner level for a amusement park goer. Great staff, great options and kid friendly.
google avatar

Shawn M.

Yelp
As much fun as my children and family had at this park tonight, the lack of rides that were closed and the unhelpful employees was out of a horror story! This park isn't cheap, and even the little kids park with the employees who refused to run rides because they were to busy having conversations... come on playland, it is a place for everyone to have fun! Wouldn't spend money to go again... questionable if this place is going under!
google avatar

Devin T.

Yelp
I'm only giving Playland a 3 star today because of the renovation of the pool, beach and other places around the park. Also because many rides were not in service at the time of my arrival and it was not displayed online or at the ticket counter showing what rides wouldn't be working for the day. The kids of course has a good time. Tried to find water in different locations for less than $4 but nope it's $4 EVERYWHERE in the park. Pizza is the cheapest option for food. $4.75 for a slice and Funnel cake is $5.75 it was very good! They also took out some rides that I was familiar with and added different rides. Some of which were not in service.

Mariana G.

Yelp
The employees they were all incredibly rude on all the rides we went on except 1 ride I'm pretty sure it was a water roller coaster

Patricia K.

Yelp
I've been going here since I was a child. It was always so much fun. A Beautiful park. Small, so it's the perfect size for kids yet plenty to do. But this time I was shocked at the prices. They were outrageous. $20 for parking. 6.99 for a bottle of water. 8.99 for a small dish of soft serve. $13 for a cup of refillable soda but the only place to refill was all the way on the other side of the park. The games were $5 each. Extremely pricey. We had a wonderful time but be prepared to shell out a lot of money.

Yelp
This place brings back childhood memories. The good thing is that it's relatively clean. It's not too busy. The bad thing is that some rides are being repaired. A lot of food places are under construction. On a plus note, the bathrooms are very clean which is amazing for amusement park. The portions are small for the food, and pricey. But what can I do.

Susan V.

Yelp
The staff seem to hate their jobs and do not seem to care for the kids and families visiting. The park should be fun, not depressing!
google avatar

Marisol A.

Yelp
I have fond memories of Playland as a child, but returning today with my own children was a huge disappointment. At least 60% of the rides are under construction, in repair, or simply not open. Large tarps cover sections of the park with no signs to indicate how to get to the following open section or what areas to avoid. Most food vendors were closed. The rides that were open were aged and had clear signs of wear, peeling paint, and even scraps of garbage inside of the rides (not the seats, the actual rides). This would all be somewhat ok if consumers had notice of the widespread construction, etc when buying tickets on the site. No such luck. Next time, we'd be better off going to Legoland in Goshen, or really, anywhere else. Steer clear.

D'Lisa M.

Yelp
Me and my mom friends bring our kids here to hang out and have fun. When it's not too hot, you can guarantee almost all of the rides will be operated. It's not expensive. We usually take the Metro North here and get the Playland package and that includes round trip train fare and a wristband for all the rides. If it's hot, the log ride is always our first stop because it'll wet you really good but it'll help cool you off to walk around the park and stand on lines. The food is good, love the funnel cake. They take debit/credit for food too but bring cash just in case. They have a beach and pool but you have to pay for it and it's not cheap. They have pricing on their website.

Jessica C.

Yelp
I honestly love the rides but the workers are not it, most are always in a bad mood. The workers running the food stands and food places are not good either, they burn the food, they dont give your change back, bad mood, and they take forever to get the food out. Over all the workers are not up to quality standards.

Yelp
Let me start with this- Playland has a LOT of sentimental value for me. Growing up, my parents would bring me almost every weekend. We'd BBQ in the picnic area starting EARLY as back in those days, it was first come first serve. We'd then spend the entire day in the park and would be exhausted, but had a great time. Fast forward to 2023- my first time back in 10+ years. Once nice change is that you now have to rent the picnic area. I think this is a great idea to keep the small arguments that many families would have over tables at bay. BUT- $215+ for 10 tables and a double grill. That's a bit steep. Factor this in with $40 tickets to go on rides, $5 per game, and $20 parking. You're already $280 in the hole and haven't even purchased food and supplies yet. Now, I called a few times and the people I spoke to were nice, but gave me the wrong info. If I knew there was a cheaper "spectator" band to get into the park without going on rides, I'd have purchased a few of those for the parties that wanted to play games and walk around but not get on rides. So I'd say I overspent on bands as well by at least....$120? Fine- I get it. Inflation. BUT- nowhere in my communications w/ anyone was I told that basically half of the adult rides are currently under "funstruction." That's beyond frustrating when you've already spent a ton of time, effort, and money and you get there and barely anything is open for adults. This also included the paddleboats and I don't know if they even have a guided boat tour anymore like they used to. Playland used to be great for families to go to and not spend an arm and a leg- that was a major part of the appeal. But now everything seems like a money grab. You'd think that for the price, they'd at least have soap and paper towels in the bathroom. Overall notes for anyone considering going and for Playland management in general to hopefully get better: 1. The picnic area is definitely sufficient. Bring a tent for some shade and protection from the rain. It's a bit pricey, but you can have up to 60 people, so if you charge them all a sufficient amount, you can make your money back. 2. Bring your own TP and hand soap. The bathrooms are not taken care of. 3. Buy a spectator band for those who aren't into rides or the costs are going to add up QUICK. 4. Realize that many of the rides this season are closed. Plan ahead and know that if you're going for the appeal of an amusement park, it' s not really there anymore. 5. For management- sell packages! If you're paying so much to rent 10 tables, park, etc, offer a package that includes parking, tickets, games, etc. Make it worth the visit. Playland will always hold a special place in my heart, but as far as BBQ's there are concerned, unless the issues are addressed, this will be the last.

Theresa B.

Yelp
Grew up coming here with many great memories so it saddens me to say it is NOT worth it now. We got there around opening and not even half the rides were open in the younger kid area. No warning or notice about that so not worth price of admission. The pizza was also gross, but you don't come to amusement parks for the food. Only saving grace from our trip was the band playing was great.

Jacque G.

Yelp
I used to frequent this park as a kid and always had a blast. I now have the joy of reliving it with my kids. Unfortunately, the park is not what it used to be. First, alot of the classic rides such as starship 2000, mind scrambler, thunderbolt and skyflyer are no longer there. These were key attractions in my youth. The new all access season pass is the only redeeming quality of the park. Rides continue to breakdown frequently and/or closed for the season, including yo-yo, food stands run out of the main product without indicating they ran out of food. For instance I stood in line for 10 minutes for fried dough for nothing. Also, the prices have increased drastically. I could go to Six flags for similar costs. The magic of playland has died. Staffing and communication seem to be an issue
google avatar

Macy T.

Yelp
Beach odds open at 50 % capacity. Parking fees ($10) still apply and so does admission (additional only for beach access) Beautiful, clean for the most part and was able to enjoy a fairly empty beach on a weekday. Rentals are not open, bring your own umbrella or buy one onsite. You can bike the board walk so bring your bikes too!
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
I wish I could give 0 stars. I have gone to playland for over 30 years at least once per year. Sure it gets crowded on the weekend. But it's always been organized. Went last weekend and it was a DISASTER! I reached out to playland management and westchester county parks. 1) the lines were about 2 hours long. Why? They were only loading at about 50%, maybe less. 2) staff was very unprofessional. One staff member on the carousel (pictured below) screamed in my moms face and then stood in front of my 4 year old telling her she is f-ing stupid for not putting her seatbelt on correctly. She screamed at all of the kids before te ride. Wow. Makes them want to have fun, right? 3) on the website it says no outside door or drink. Had to wait over an hour to get food and drink. Meanwhile, most people had things they brought in. 4) what is the point in having the bracelets if you have to scan them for each ride?? Just takes up more time. 5) lots of gun and knife presence. But no police presence!! Lots of people physically fighting. People smoking weed around the food. Open containers of alcohol that were not sold at playland. Sorry to say but this place needs to shut down. Truly dirty. Attached is the photo of the staff member who owes my family an apology. We will not accept it but she owes it to us for the quality she spoke to my mother and my daughter.

Maria R.

Yelp
As a kid and a teenager growing up in the 90's early 2000 this was a great place for fun, friends and good times. Fast forward 2023 you pay to just GET IN (never mind getting on rides that's 40 bucks per person- family of 4 would pay 215 dollars and you didn't even have lunch yet!) most restaurants and rides were CLOSED for what they call "fun construction".. No entertainment (Labor Day weekend), just neglected :( they really shouldn't charge folks to simply enter. (And and the beach and pool are separate ) May be different for the little ones (toddlers -3 years olds) but parents beware- rides are expensive. For the price you're better off jumping in a car to six flags and paying for the express lanes. Same difference.
google avatar

The B.

Yelp
Adding to my review. I certainly do not fault the young men and women working there. It's probably their first summer job. With that said, it is imperative that these young men and women get Proper Training!! What she they be trained to do? Move along a lot quicker. Get the people off quick but mainly take charge and load a lot quicker!!! Please, stop all the chitter chatter that delays the rides. The music express will run about three times in one hour. Shame on Playland, Westchester County, and the Town of Rye, that you all allow this once Great Park to turn into a nightmare! These young men and women have taken the initiative to work, you all have failed them to become better people for the work they do. You may need a few adults to work the rides or supervise. It's the least you can do.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Review Number 500! This was my second visit to the Rye; my first visit was 20 or 21 years ago, so I only vaguely remembered the place. It's a simple park, along the lines of a Coney Island, but without The Cyclone, or the nostalgia. My group arrived 3PM-- the park was pretty filled, as was the parking lot ($15 bucks to park). When we made our way to purchase tickets, the lines were pretty long. On the day I went, it was First Responders Day-entry was $20 for everybody, all day. However, as I saw on their website, if you want to enter the park, but not ride, they charge a spectators fee of $15. Many of the lines had extremely long lines and I'm not a fan of roller coasters. So I spent a lot of time spectating. I did the Bumper Cars, Music Express and another ride, I believe was called 2000. The wait for the bumper cars was almost an hour- typical bumper car experience. The music express I didn't want to get on after watching, but I was peer pressured. The ride was a bit much for me and hurt my neck because the heavier person has to be on the outside of the ride and spends the entire time leaning on you. This ride was a huge hit for my daughter and my friends kids as well- but too much for me. Lastly, the 2000 ride- it's like a space shuttle, so to speak. I was a fan of this ride. Food options here are Popeyes, Nathan's and Smash N Shake. My daughter wanted Popeyes, but that, had an extremely long line. (There's a recent craze for their chicken sandwiches--this location doesn't sell). Smash and Shake had a short line and an excellent burger. All and all, the kids had a ball here; however, I don't believe it worth the long drive up here. I could have had an almost similar experience in a Six Flags or maybe even Coney Island.

Jen H.

Yelp
Went on 4th of July, busy but good, excepted the staff training, staff don't really care about kids sneaking and cutting line. You will feel like there is no help from the staff, not a good team management at all.. otherwise it s pretty good and fun P.S. there is a group of kids paying cash to staff , so they can cut the line and walk-in through the exit.. never seen this before in America..
google avatar

Yelp
This rating is for the gift shop. Ladies were lovely, prices were ridiculous. Totally outrageous. I am a die hard Playland fan, been going since a kid and even worked there as a teenager. The prices of those items were a total smack in the face. Plain Sweaters for $95, banners for over 30$, A BANNER and trust me I'm low balling that price. I was so excited to see that they finally did something with that dead space and incorporated something they never had before but they are clearly catering to the Rye resident which sucks because a large majority of the visiting demographic is NOT. Shame on y'all

Colleen F.

Yelp
I really wanted to leave a 4 star but I couldn't... *a lot of rides were not running (me and my family counted 7 not running *food was pricey, even Hershey park doesn't charge as much as them on food *staff member in the kiddie section was cursing back and forth for 3 minutes straight while my kids stared at her waiting on line; I mean really you don't know your working in a child environment and are flipping out and cursing at another staff member *all garbages full which led to garbage all over when walking *more police officers patrolling the park than people cleaning; a kid threw up on a ride and it opened back up 5 minutes later I hope it was properly sanitized BUT *hardly any long waits on line!!! *staff members were really nice to my kids and at the end of the night gave them a free pretzel! *really nice how when you are on rides you can see the water *some of the rides they do 2 times :) overall still had a fun day

Yelp
I enjoyed Playland as a child and as a young mom. It's now been about 15 year since I been there and it's cost a lot more to enter park. It still a fun place to go and I would go again, For the the kids If you are not getting in a any rides, the "spectators" have to pay $ to enter park as well. It's about $48 to $64 per junior less than 48 inches to adult per person to get on rides For the cost $$$ it's not worth for the overall condition of the park. Needs updating and All rides need to be working We experienced 1/2 of the rides were not even working. In addition The parking is RIDICULOUS $20 per car there are no Senior discounts. Enjoy ... Be ready to spend $$$

Yelp
Disappointing visit to Playland on memorial day weekend, 1 The pizza and chicken stand were closed ,2 they stopped spinning cotton candy their in containers now , 3 the rides are geared toward young kids a step above kiddie land they took out a few rides. Sad
google avatar

Mickey M.

Yelp
Playland needs a bit of love. The simple pricing for bracelets is probably the most appealing aspect of the place. The rides are traditional, the space is well laid out, and the overall cost is probably the biggest draw. That being said, it needs some major updating to infrastructure, including the rides themselves. The duration of each ride seems to be really short, but the lines for rides are exceedingly long. There doesn't seem to be anything in place to mitigate huge lines and bottlenecking of some areas with several rides. It'd be great if there was a big renovation ahead of 2023, as the location is perfect.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
I went to Playland for the first time last night in three years and it was horrible. Prices went up.. there was no entertainment. Not many brand-name foods not many games either plus no mini golf.

Poingly P.

Yelp
Since being taken over by Standard Amusements, Playland has really gone downhill. So many rides were just shut down. This was not even accounting for the amount of the park that was under construction. And then some rides you wait in line, and then they won't even let you on as a single rider -- with no notification about this in advance. So lame.
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
What a great day at Playland! Brought my kids to the park 4th of July weekend. It was such a great day. They loved the park, the rides, the food and ability to get on as many rides as possible. The staff was very nice & tended to every little need we had. We stayed for the fireworks and loved how close we were to the magic. I highly recommend this place for kids of all ages.
google avatar

Donna D.

Yelp
The last review I gave was good. This one not! Only 3/4 rides play music and try to engage people, lines we long (understandably), so why not play fun party music ? If people were not yapping, it would seem like a weird morge! No alcohol! At least create a fun environment. I know it is about the rides, but we are in line more than, half the time... how hard is it for each part of the park to play some music? I almost lost my mind it was boring!
google avatar

Kia M.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible a complete rip off! all rides not available, food concessions closed and $30 for parking, i'll never come in this park again, a waist of land Westchester should be ashamed.

Yelp
Oldie but goodie! I don't live in New York anymore but every time I come to visit in the spring or summer I go to Playland. It reminds me of my childhood and I like experiencing the park again with child. My favorite ride is the racing horses. All of the rides are good and I love that the park isn't too big. It's easy to walk around and navigate. And if you go on a weekday, the lines for rides are not long. Recently they updated the bathrooms. They are really nice and the employees seem to keep them clean. I'm glad this park remains a place that keeps local youth employed. I have family members who have worked here over the years and one who currently works here. It's a great experience for them. I'm looking forward to going back again and again. And maybe one day with my grandchildren.

Yelp
This is information you should know. You can no longer reach them by phone. All posted numbers are disconnected. After all research on the website and online, it appears as if there are no more spectator passes. There is no senior discount. This means anyone unable to rides rides or those having no desire to do so, must still pay full price. There are two options. tickets for those 48 inches and under and those 48 inches of more. 1 ticket with tax for those 48 inches and under online including tax is $27.08 and including tax $32.50 if purchased at the park. 1 ticket with tax for those 48 inches and over including taxes is $37.92 online and $43.33 at the park. Parking is $20 per car. $30 per car for a holiday. These price are cost prohibitive for families and inequitable for seniors, the handicapped unable to ride or anyone who does not want to ride rides. And the new owners/managers do not want to interface with or talk to you evidenced by their decision to have no working Playland phone. All published numbers are not working. Thank you new owners for destroying traditions, raising prices in tough times and as a result disappointing the grandchildren.

Yelp
Rye Playland is celebrating their 90th anniversary this year and I can see why. Yes this is definitely not Disney or not even Six Flags but it's still a good time. Playland is still reminiscent of simpler times. Their biggest rides are the Dragon Coaster and Super Flight Steel but there are plenty of simple rides to enjoy. From Crazy Mouse to the log flume to the mirror maze and splash down my kids had a blast. Since it's such a simple park lines are much more manageable and most rides my kids were able to just walk right on to. Prices are steep here so check their website for discounts. We went on $15 night. Unlimited rides for $15 ($10 for spectators). Why only 3 stars? Absolutely every employee here was completely miserable. There are plenty of food options in the park (Nathan's, Popeye's, pizza and more) but they are all severely overpriced. On top of already high admission they charge $10 parking. I feel like small amusement parks like this shouldn't really charge for parking unless space is at a premium. Even with the few negatives still a good time. Don't go in with high expectations and you won't be disappointed. I had great memories coming here as a kid with my family and hopefully my kids will have the same.

Yelp
I always loveeeeee Playland. Even as an adult. I came here with my 3 friends and we literally got on every ride. Water is OVERPRICED though. Note to self. Please bring your own. Lol. Please take your kids. They will have an amazing time.

Yelp
disappointed!!!! $30 for Parking and $40 Tickets. best part and half of the rides were closed and there's construction going on!!!! only 1 place to buy food and line was over 45 minute wait!!!! you figured, you will get a discount since over 9 rides are closed and you have limited access to food. I been coming here for 37 years and for the first time I felt a Huge disappointment!!!! $$$$ wasted and time

Yelp
You pay full price and when you get there only half the rides are working. Some rides have employees standing around and yet they can't tell you when that ride will be open. When you pay the price you expect to get the full benefit

Yelp
What have they turned this park into? New management came in and removed staples within the park. Haunted house, Nathan's, and a handful of other rides that were all favorites. People in line seemed to agree, lots of disappointed faces. Plenty of things under construction or closed, but we're already at the end of July. We always chose playland over six flags each summer but I doubt we'll be back. Removed rides to replace with even OLDER rides.

Yelp
So I just visited my childhood favorite: Rye Playland. Arguably I haven't been there in ten years, but I went with my best friend & two kids on August 27th. a beautiful sunny Saturday, the next-to-last weekend of the season. HOWEVER... Catch a Wave; The Crazy Mouse; Go Karts; Log Flume; Yo Yo; Kite Flyer; Superflight; Tornado; Sky Skater; Kite Flyer where ALL Shut Down! (Ye Old Mill was shut down while we were there) And while I didn't go looking at the "kiddieland" area, I could see the Fun Slide was shut down from the front gate. So at least TEN RIDES WERE SHUT DOWN! On a Saturday??? On the next-to-last weekend of the season??? Almost HALF THE ADULT RIDES NOT RUNNING?!?!? Why? I asked several employees, and they all said the same thing. The rides are all functional, it's just the management doesn't have enough employees. Could that be because the new "management" scrapes the bottom of the barrel, hiring kids barely old enough to work there, for the lowest salary imaginable? Sounds plausible to me. Oh... and also, the Beach, the Pool AND Mini-golf were ALL shut down for construction! On top of all these calamitous failures on the part of "management", GONE FOREVER are the following perennial staples: The Spider; The Hurricane; Whirlwind; Bumper Fun; The Flying Witch; Starship 2000: Sky Flyer; Thunderbolt; Wipeout; the Shooting Gallery; Nathan's Franks & Popeyes Chicken! And on the subject of food: I'm no "uber-vegan" and I have no religious food restrictions, but I am on a strict diet (as little cholesterol as possible and NO dairy). But telling the people serving the burrito bowls that was meaningless. They managed to leave out the chicken/beef like I asked, but even though I was VERY specific about no dairy... they heaped shredded cheese & sour cream on top. Then at the chicken concession, they advertised a VEGAN Sandwich (or Vegan basket w/fries). "Vegan" is a VERY specific dietary term. It means NO meat, and NO Animal products/by-products. What did I get? a Star Farms "Incognito Chik'n" patty (yay!) but topped with CHEESE, catsup and MAYO (booo!) In my opinion calling this a Vegan Sandwich is FALSE ADVERTISING, and in the case of religious, moral and/or (in my case) dietary requirements, DISASTROUS! This is the 21st century. There are many options for amusement parks in and around Connecticut. Lake Compounce and Quassy Amusement & Waterpark being just two that are leaps and bounds better than sad and dilapidated Playland. So despite my rose-colored memories of the old days, I w ill NEVER go back to Playland.... EVER. (I assume "Playland S/the owner" will respond to this with one of three cut-and-paste boilerplate responses. Save your time "Management", and stick your "share your review/sharing your review/sharing your feedback" response somewhere else.)

Yelp
This is fun place for kids & even has a little something for adults. There's plenty of parking available & if your a Westchester resident, you get a discount on the entry fee. The rides aren't too far apart, so your not walking a mile to get from one to another. There's plenty of stands around if your wanting food or a beverage too. To get on rides you scan your wrists band which you get after paying your entry fee. They also have something called "spectator" if your wanting to just go in the park, but not get on rides. Cleanliness wise, as you can imagine any space with kids, there's gonna be some drops & spills, but I thought overall it was fine. The biggest problem I would say with this park, is the bathroom. They should have someone in there at all times..the bathroom needs to be better.

Yelp
Very nice clean place to bring your whole family but 95% of the workers seemed sad that we got there.
