On the Grid : Gratitude Cafe

"This family-owned cafe is great for so many reasons. We're regulars here, finding ourselves at Gratitude Cafe at least a couple times a week. From their Brooklyn Roast coffee, to their freshly-blended smoothies and their drool-worthy homemade bacon-egg-and-cheddar breakfast sandwiches—we love all their non-GMO, chemical, hormone and pesticide-free goods. Google
Their food prep area seemed like a simple assembly station, but their eggs were freshly scrambled and quite tasty. However, they use foil to wrap so after they cut the burrito in half, bits of foil gets included in your food so had to watch out the first few bites. Chai was from a box mix and tasted watery/weak. Also got a Cortado, which was strong! They were busy on a Saturday morning...good thing, lots of local patrons. The counter service person was fast and efficient at handling all customersand making drinks. Kudos to him! Nice outdoor seating area. The also hosted a neighborhood fridge for food drop off to share as well. What a wonderful gesture!

Google
The lattes are good with a lot of milk choices. There's a community fridge (love that.) Service is usually fine. Lots of tea choices. However, the food is reliably inconsistent. Sometimes it's good, other times it feels like they are scraping the barrel. Today I got a crumbled overcooked slice of bacon on my BLT and some stale tortilla chips bc they were out of potato chips. I am going to avoid food there for a while and stick to drinks.

Google
nice people but they took almost 20 minutes to make a blt sandwich with eggs which costed $15, it has no flavor and is cold. they also forgot my friend’s smoothie although there was no line and did not seem very busy. overpriced and not good quality. i would suggest going somewhere else for brunch on a saturday.

I have been living in the area for 15 years, and I have been client of PLG Coffee House and Tavern since they opened. In past, cafe used to have beer on tap. Anyways, that was in past. Food was always consistently great, since the day cafe was open. In my opinion, sandwiches still are one of the best in the area. But service, only so-so. During my last two visits to establishment, in both occasions I left unhappy. Two weeks prior my last visit, we had lunch in the cafe. As I understood, counter person stepped out and kitchen crew were filling in. Because person who serviced us at the counter couldn't figure out how to apply rewards to my order. I let it slide at that time. Same person prepared our sandwiches and send it out, one by one. Why entire order was not prepared and send it out at the same time, it's mystery to me. I had coffee which I think is good, and my guest wanted to have decaf tea. Problem was that person serving us was clueless which tea in their selection (which is decent), were decaf. That we had to figure out ourselves. On second occasion, I made take out order over the phone. I tried use their mobile app, but that thing been not functional for some time. When I got to cafe to pick up my order, food already was prepared. We got The Club sandwich, The Farm System, I also added two plain croissants( for next days breakfast) and two pieces of Lemon loaf. This time again, person at the counter couldn't figure out how to apply rewards. After I told him that I have some rewards on my account, and I would like to redeem it, he ensured me that it will be applied at the end when payment will be processed. It didn't happen. When I got home and checked the receipt, no redeemed awards were showing. Why PLG Coffee House running their rewards program, if no-one trains the staff how properly apply it to costumer's orders? And like I mention before, mobile app is not functioning at all. For some people this may be minor issue. But in my opinion: either you doing good, or don't do it at all. Now about food. As I mention before, sandwiches are still one of my favorites in the area. Croissants were good as well. Lemon Loaf was old and dry. Definitely not that day's baked batch. And if you charging $4.50 for relatively small piece, at least have decency to sell ONLY freshly baked. I didn't get any beverage on my last visit. But I think their coffee is good and teas are delicious. On both occasions we visit cafe around 3pm. That said, I don't think I'm going there any time soon. Luckily, there is more cafes and sandwich shops opens in the area. I probably will explore some new ones, before I order from this business again.

Google
I honestly can’t believe they thought this was ok…. Usually like this place is decent (yummy even!) but the audacity to send a not fresh tuna sandwich is outrageous. The Relay service delivered quickly after pick up in a cooler so it wasn’t the heat… be careful ordering here! Used to like it!

Catt Small

Google
Consistently good drinks but there were a bunch of egg shells in my burrito the most recent time I ordered food. One crunch is tolerable. Three is a lot. And one of the shells was half an inch large. Bruh....... 🧐 I will be back for beverages and simple sandwiches only.

Google
I love the coffee here, and the food is also very nice. But one thing I cannot accept is the prices. I know it’s NYC and all, but damn. You have to be ready to pay $25-30 for just a sandwich and coffee. The employees are usually friendly and polite, but sometimes they seem indifferent to customers’ needs.

Grabbed a cappuccino from this cafe. It’s pretty decent. A little burnt but the ambiance is very cheerful here.

Yelp
PLG is a cute cafe in the corner. It's all rustic and hip and was quite busy when we arrived. A few people were sitting around doing work, so it may be hard to find a table inside, but they do have ample seating outside. The staff were friendly and very helpful as well. I opted to get a smoked salmon bagel which I enjoyed. I don't eat a lot at once so I ended up saving the second half for later. I also got a pineapple/passionfruit tea which I didn't quite enjoy. It was very bitter and no amount of sugar or tempering saved it for me. My friend got a turkey and cheese croissant. What an overwhelming amount of turkey. The croissant was also really crumbly which is fun, but a lot of it flakes off unfortunately. All in all, a good experience but there is room for improvement.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop in Flatbush. The food was super cheesy which I'm not sure I loved, but it was good. I also love that they bag loose leaf tea making it easier to resteep. I didn't use it, but I noticed they had a printer and I thought that was really cool and pro-community vibe. Definitely a good spot to work in if you need and like the background noise of a bustling cafe.

Yelp
I love PLG! As a vegetarian, it's awesome to have so many healthy options. Furthermore, they are great with allergies and substitutions. The coffee and iced tea are great. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, and the indoor and outdoor are clean. I love the breakfast wraps and pesto mozzarella sandwich.

Yelp
Cute spot in the great part of town, we ended up here because of their ability to handle allergens quite well (definitely appreciate it for this little celiac), and I love the fact that, on a sunny Brooklyn summer day, they have wonderfully shaded outdoor dining. The food is good enough, one thing I will say, is that the type of gluten-free bread used can definitely be better, but otherwise we were all pretty good with the food, their service is great, and you really can't beat this part of town in terms of location and it's just overall a great spot to spend time catching up and hanging out at.

Yelp
I stop by pretty regularly on my days off (around 2PM Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays). Their PM team has always been fantastic, fun dynamic amongst themselves and an overall nice environment. It's similar to a coffee shop I have worked at for a few years myself. I came in this morning & was given a drip coffee & when I asked for a new mug because of a sharp, nearly leaking crack that went completely through to the other side I was told "Oh... that's just the design of the cup." like I was the dumbest person on the planet. After the person I was with finished carefully drinking their coffee they decided to discreetly put the empty mug in the garbage considering it was about one more cup of hot coffee away from exploding & burning somebody. He was then confronted by the owner & asked to not throw away anymore cups to which they explained to him that it was broken. The owner seemed annoyed that we didn't have interest in drinking from a cup that had a crack you could physically feel when drinking from. I like coming here & live close by but the whole exchange really bummed me out.

Yelp
2022 Update I've been coming to PLG for almost 5 years. PLG continues to be a neighborhood staple for me. More recently they did a refresh of the staff and I'd like to note how lovely they are. This is the only place close to me that I'll order an iced chai latte. They get it right every time regardless of who's making it. The food is fantastic. They do breakfast until noon M-F. They do breakfast all day Saturday & Sunday. The rest of their menu is fantastic too. Very diet inclusive! The only downside is that they are so popular that the wait on food is long. Sometimes I'll opt out of food because I'm unable to wait. But drinks are always speedy! However, I see it as a positive that they are always busy. That speaks to their quality. This is also a Black Owned Business! I've had the pleasure of meeting the owner a few times briefly in passing and they are wonderful. If you're in PLG, stop by!!

Yelp
The food was absolutely to die for. The variety of food available was insane and made it so hard to decide what to get. The food is a bit pricey but it's NY so I get it.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoy eating lunch here. The only downside is the BLT is $11 and they usually only give 2 pieces of bacon :(

Yelp
PLG Coffee House and Tavern is a great place to go for good coffee (or tea, if that's more your go-to!) and breakfast. Inside is warm, cozy, and casual that's perfect for solo focus and productivity. There's free wifi and I've enjoyed going to complete homework. I've enjoyed going with my S.O. and friends in the past as well! Service has been quick and kind every time I've gone with friendly baristas and cooks who bring your food to the table whether you're sitting inside or outside. Outdoor seating is street-side seating however the sidewalk here is very large so traffic isn't an arm's length away, nor is it super loud.

Yelp
This place has gone down hill since COVID-19. This morning I walker in after 7am and the lady could not take my plus one other persons order until she was done setting up the patio. You have customers waiting to order, yet concerned about the patio that no one is currently even waiting for. Only took 5 minutes but very unprofessional, especially at a coffee spot where people are crunched for time on the way to work. Food is still good though, only thing keep this above 1 star. Also, came in for my free birthday coffee and they told me it's only black coffee or iced coffee, I got iced coffee. However, that was not the case last year. Again, place has gone downhill. ****UPDATED****
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill recently. Last three visits - they served clearly stale bread twice, and then switched out the bread from the menu for my sandwich without even asking, assuming I'd be fine with it and letting me know as it was served. It's a nice spot, but it's being run very lazily and quality is suffering.

Yelp
Classic Brooklyn neighborhood cafe. Decent cappuccinos, really good chai lattes (if I come back, it'll be for the Chai). Ordered the salmon avocado toast which, while good, was pretty pricey for what you get. The salmon was good though, might be back to try their salmon sandwich. Side salad was fresh and I enjoyed their balsamic dressing.

Yelp
So excited to be just around the corner from here! They allow indoor seating (limited capacity) and they have free Wifi. They also have a printer! Being here brought back all the wonderful memories of working and chatting in coffee shops. They also have delicious food and drink! I tried their pumpernickel bagels, one with egg & cheese and another with cream cheese & jam. Both were fresh and yummy! They have a great selection of hot drinks, too. PLG has a super warm, friendly, and homey feel and I can't wait to be back more often!
google avatar

Yelp
My experience here was just fine. I came here twice for quick bites during a girls trip! We were staying in Brooklyn and this was one stop away on the train. They have a pretty large menu of basic things. Smoothies are my go to so I ordered a Health Bomb both days. BUT on the second day I inquired about the color. It seems I actually received a Purple People Eater on the first day (which I did NOT order because I can't have peanuts) so that kind of left me feeling so-so about their serving process. Their Chai is good! I wish they would get a better system down for serving food and drinks. We saw multiple mix-ups in the two visits we had. People receiving the wrong food, drinks, and getting things they didn't order under their name. It's a super cute spot but just needs some fixing on the serving side! They have Gluten Free offerings but even that makes me nervous to think back on due to the mixups I saw. I had the GF bread and as a Celiac I didn't get sick.

Yelp
Huge fan of this place! Finally tried it out a few weeks ago after seeing it recommended and really love the ambiance of it. Seeing folks writing, listening to music, reconnecting, reading or working all in the same bustling cafe makes this a great spot to work. The wait for food is a bit long, but the breakfast burrito is excellent and I'm a huge fan of the cold brew here as well. Now that the weather is dying down, having the option for outdoor seating is also welcome.

Yelp
I've been intentional with my purchasing recently and trying to actively uplift, feature and support Black Owned businesses. And I am unapologetic about it. I live in the neighborhood and might've been here once in, what, like 4/5 years. Mainly because this hot spot, before the pandemic, was pretty popular with the neighborhood and was packed. That day I really wanted breakfast and had a few minutes til the cut off time so I power walked to PLG! Pleasantly surprised, it was empty and they are taking proper precautions for Covid and safety. You wait outside for your food but order inside. And there's a limit to the amount of people ordering at one time. I like this place already. I walked in and wanted half the damn menu. Nothing new! Ha! So I settled on food for 3. As I ate for 1. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and tomato, a croissant with the works (see my photo), a Greek salad AND an iced chai latte. That's why you can't order food hongry. Yes, hongry not hungry. Also, not to be confused with hangry. I bolted home and devoured the bacon, egg, cheese and avocado on a croissant first. Lovely. Perfect soft yolk in the center. I'm not a fan of runny. It's a texture thing. Next I ate the bagel with cream cheese n tomato. The bagel was soft and the tomato was sweet and juicy. Omgggg. I want another one. I can't think about it! But I had some restraint and saved the salad for lunch. I didn't realize the salad had hummus in it, my bad for not reading all the ingredients. It was called a Greek salad but felt a little Mediterranean. It was filling and came with a sweet balsamic reduction dressing on the side. I didn't use the dressing, too sweet for my tastes. It was the typical tomato, cucumber, olives and feta but also had roasted veggies! Watch out for the olives though. They are not pitted and have seeds. I almost broke a tooth on the first bite. Ha ha ha ha. You have been warned! I'm happy that I went. I'll definitely be back. The staff was friendly. The chai latte hit the spot and I don't have any complaints! Check them out. They have an app so you can order ahead. Or you can stop by and order whenever. If you like my photos, my commentary, and my review check out my foodie adventures on insta. @saltandsavor

Yelp
Food preparation moves at glacial pace here. Skip if you're in a hurry. Quality is just okay.
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
Place was very ok to me. The vibes and inside were super cute but the food was ok. The bagel with egg only had 1 egg which just made the proportions off. The bagel felt stale. The protein burrito was pretty good but didn't blow my mind.

Yelp
PLG is the sort of coffee shop you'd find in a small town. In many ways it fits right into tight knit community of Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It's a neighborhood where people actually smile at you on the street and know the name of the mailman. There are myriad signs on the windows of this coffee shop advertising music lessons, a post for a missing kitten, a posting about a community garden event. This space itself seems like its a popular meeting grounds for parent groups and first dates alike. It's versatile in that way. The menu features a standard array of sandwiches that are friendly to vegetarian, omnivore, and pescatarian diets. They were out of bagels, croissants, and biscuits when I went, which also feels like something that would happen in a small town coffee shop. I was limited to a few options but they whipped up a nice smoked salmon on whole wheat toast for me. My strawberry banana smoothie was quite good. A good neighborhood option for a simple meal and beverage.

Yelp
Amazing food and coffee. I love coming here for brunch. Sandwich was so fresh and the bread was amazing. Even the small things like the pickle that is included are delicious. Inside is very homey, and the outside is amazing to experience on a nice day, too. Service is wonderful, quick, and friendly. Love coming here!

Yelp
Great place to grab breakfast - huge assortment of coffee, tea and pastries. We both had the lox bagels which were delicious.
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
Their fantastic tuna melt wowed me on 7/25 by being the best tuna sandwich I had in my life! Usually it is excellent, but the extra heat kick, perfectly toasted baguette and fresh ingredients made this edition extraordinary! Generally, PLG is a lovely coffee shop that seems to work hard to develop deep roots in the neighborhood. They make excellent sandwiches driven by thoughtful ingredients and a great bread selection. Great place to drop a laptop for a half hour inside or a bit more time outside!
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
I usually order from here a lot and the food is decent. But I ordered a parfait and the strawberries had mold all over. It was so much that hairs were growing out of it.
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
Made a trip here on an early Saturday afternoon for a light breakfast. Not much seating available inside, but outside they have a few tables near the entrance as well as an enclosed outdoor area for slightly larger groups. Small line at the front to order...but once there, you give the cashier your drink order (which he makes then and there) and then the food order (which is brought to your table later). Decided on the BEC on a Biscuit ($6.75) to go along with an Iced Latte ($4.75). As mentioned, the coffees are given right as you pay - a decently strong drink that needed need any extra sugar. Food arrived about 25 minutes later; definitely longer than I was expecting, Biscuit is pressed down tightly over the bacon, egg, and cheese. Good buttery flavor in the biscuit and a solid amount of bacon. Was expecting a larger amount of food, though it may have been better to get the croissant or bagel. The guys behind the counter are friendly and make sure everyone is distanced properly. It does take a while for the orders to come out, so make sure you're not arriving too hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
PLG is a cute and funky neighborhood staple. Their food, coffee, and smoothies are delicious and I appreciate their gluten feee options! I also enjoy their outdoor seating. It's my go-to in the neighb for lunch. My two gripes are that the service is very slow (15 minute wait for a smoothie?!) and it could be a bit cleaner. It has a musty smell and the air purifier they use is covered in visible dust and clearly not functional. Overall, love the vibes and community feel here! Edited: the smell and the waits are getting worse. I may be avoiding PLG for a bitS.

Yelp
We were nearby the Brooklyn Botanical Garden earlier and stopped by this place for dine in. I got the turkey avocado tomato sandwich on a baguette which came with chips on the side. The baguette was nicely toasted and it was a tasty sandwich. My wife got the egg bacon avocado sandwich on gluten free bread for $1 extra. Also got a large drip coffee for $3. All in all, I would give this place a strong 3 stars and would highly recommend. Price wise, the items are very reasonably priced. The staffs are extremely courteous and helpful despite the wait time to receive the order took a little longer than what we liked. Still, very great atmosphere and there seems to be a lot of regular costumers flow.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop by this place to grab breakfast for a while now and on a Saturday I finally made my way there around noon. It was super packed upon arrival with a long line to match. As of recent, I've been trying Matcha Latte's (with oat milk) everywhere I go so I ordered that with an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on gluten free bread to go. My drink came super quickly and then my food a little after. The Matcha Latte was great but the reason I'm rating this place so low is the portion sizes of the food and my overall experience with the workers. Once I got home I wasn't really sure that they gave me gluten free bread it appeared to look like normal wheat bread. As far as the workers, when I got in line to order I said hi and wasn't greeted back and the guy seemed super preoccupied with everything else almost messing up my order in the process. Then as I waited for my food to come, I sat at the bar and he threw my bag of food down and I hesitated and then asked "Is this my order?" He simply replies "Yea" and goes back to do other things. I didn't feel welcome in this establishment so I know I won't be coming back again.

Wazeerka M.

Yelp
Not only do they have the nerve to colonize the block, they have consistently overpriced, subpar food that takes an egregiously long time and is served by the rudest staff. Always fucking up my vibe in the neighborhood.

Susan T.

Yelp
Rustic, laid back vibe. Productive hum of connected conversations and focused professionals busy on their laptops. Friendly service, music choice is a whole vibe. Needless to say, good coffee!
google avatar

Caitlin D.

Yelp
Ordered pick up from here today, I had been wanting to try their BECs for a while now and was not disappointed! I especially loved all the topping options and that you could choose between a croissant, bagel, or biscuit. It wasn't crowded and they had signs to indicate the number of people allowed inside and all employees were in masks which made me feel comfortable!

Yelp
I found this place a little over 2 years ago when I first moved to the area. Being plant-based, there aren't many places that offer food I can eat and I've come here more often since I started working in the area. The best thing about this place is the veggies are always fresh (greens for salads/sandwiches, cucumbers, tomato, avocado) and they have a digital reward/loyalty system. In terms of menu items: they don't give you drama for substitutions or add-ons which is a major plus. About the vegan options: the avocado toast and veggie hummus are my go-tos; it used to be the chickpea tuna, but they haven't carried it for a while (hope they bring it back). Majority of the men that work there are quite pleasant and attentive (one of them started remembering my drink after my 3rd or 4th visit). Now for my constructive criticisms: *I would appreciate if they paid more attention to order notes. It's happened often enough, whether I've placed an order in-store or online. Maybe when BOH receives the order, they can yell something like "SPECIAL ORDER" (I worked at a really busy Jamba Juice as a teen and this method worked wonders for keeping us aware of substitutions). *The women there make the best and hottest hot drinks. Hopefully they can show the men how they do it and we can have a more consistent experience *Lastly, make the onion slices thinner and smaller, it's getting kinda crazy now Criticisms aside, it's a good place to get food and I hope they get more vegan options soon. *This business actually came up on the black-owned yelp list and from my understanding it is not. If the owner reads these, please clarify and if this is not the case have yelp remove you from this list. It's great to know that you're black. Would love to see some black employees there. Be well ----- I had to change my rating to 1 star. After learning this place is black-owned, I don't even feel comfortable going here. We go out of our way to patron our own's businesses because they are more likely to hire our own ppl. I've been going here regularly since January and randomly for the last 2 years. I have never seen any black employees and the neighborhood is predominantly black. This needed to be addressed because it's not ok. Whether ppl want to believe it or not, 100% employees not reflecting the neighborhood demographic is the type of underrepresentation that's a part of the system we're fighting.

Yelp
One of my new favorite coffee spots in PLG. Authentic, cold brew js on point and vibes are always nice. I have not tried the food yet but I will soon! Great place to get work done or catch up with friends. Outside seating available - which is a pleasure on beautiful weather days in BK. This is a must try.

Yelp
If you're around the neighborhood and just want a coffee and an already baked good, this place is ideal as the coffee and matcha lattes are quite good. Now, when it comes to the amount of time that you'll be waiting for a sandwich/bagel that contains more than 1 ingredient, please expect a 20-35 minute wait if there are more than 3 people inside. Menu prices are quite affordable but the overwhelming amount of options in the menu board makes it really hard to read, and for sure contributes to the delay in the kitchen. The stuffed croissant I ordered was scrumptious, but I had already finished my drink by the time I got it. The shop itself is spacious but extremely crowded. Better placement of tables, chairs and decorations would totally transform the place. I almost tripped while getting up from my table because of extension cables that were loose under the chairs. I'll definitely be back to give them a second try, but will make sure to have enough time to enjoy it.

Yelp
It pains me to write this but I am taking the time to do so because I legitimately want to see this business do better, and perhaps my review can help the owner/manager see that there are glaring issues that need to be addressed. There's not a single reason why it should take 45 minutes for me to receive sandwich was nearly $15 at 1p on a Friday. The folks prepping the food in the back were drinking beers and chit chatting. They were taking their time while I was disrespected of mine, wondering how much longer it would be and if I would be late to the meeting I had, surely thinking I would have plenty of time to grab a quick sandwich and be back within maybe 30 minutes. I could have walked down to the store and purchased what I needed to make my own, and still gotten back home within 45 minutes. Maybe consider prepping all of your sandwiches in the morning so they're not all made-to-order. The barista at the front (female presenting with blonde hair) was so sweet and obviously uncomfortable with how slow the food was rolling out. I'm sure the fact that everyone else was drinking beer while she had to attend to the customers did not help. I bet you if she was in charge the coffee shop would be in an incredible shape. You guys need to do better, for real. tl;dr - if you're considering stopping here for food, and yes, even just a BEC sandwich, plan to wait closer to an hour for your food. If you want coffee, you'll be fine

Yelp
Been living in the neighborhood all my life, but my work schedule never allowed me to catch PLG during their business hours. Working from home because of COVID-19 and I finally got to stop by, 1st time.. very cool barista, cute decor.. but I couldn't help but notice the entire time he was preparing my food and drink.. he was talking over my food..I go back a few days later and it's the same thing, non-stop talking with nothing covering his mouth in the midst of COVID-19.. I took my sandwich home but couldn't stop thinking about it and tossed it out, waste of $15. This shouldn't be done period, but with COVID-19 if anything he should be taking extra precautions.. not to mention he has a head full of hair with nothing covering it. Won't be returning.

Yelp
I've ordered delivery from here 3 times, always hoping things will improve, but they never fail to disappoint! There are always ingredients missing from my order: milk missing from coffee, bacon missing from BLT, etc. More than once they have forgotten an item or sent the wrong one. And for some reason they refuse to make a reuben sandwich before 12pm. I should really lower my expectations in this neighborhood. Anyway, no more PLG for me!

Yelp
Came in during the pandemic and the place had great service and good policies to keep everyone safe. They asked people to wait outside while their food was being prepared and they also had a big bottle of hand sanitizer at the front. (Crazy that this is part of restaurant reviews now but anyways...) I got the lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel and they were very generous with the lox, especially for $9.75! The service was really great too. The guy made sure we had exactly the amount of cream we liked in our iced coffees and brought out our food to-go when it was ready. Will be back to try more of their menu!

Yelp
PLG Coffee House has become a local staple in this neighborhood. A perfect location to meet with friends over coffee, or get some work done! Expect long lines during peak morning hours. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch items, which I think are a tad overpriced, but everything is fresh and made to order. Probably one of the best bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches I've enjoyed!

Yelp
Ladies and Gentlemen, I found my favorite local coffee shop! Been here a han of times and I'm in love! Each time I've been, I indudlged in the Iced Mocha Coffee/Latte. Their coffee is made to perfection. That's a lot coming from me since I'm a fan of French Vanilla, Caramel, and Hazelnut flavored coffee. Aside from the beverages (Fruit Smoothies, etc.), the food here selections are incredible. So much to choose from; salads, sandwiches, pastries, and more. I had a maple croissant with my coffee the first time around. And the omelette special the next. Literally nothing negative to say about my dining experience. I plan to be a regular at this establishment for numerous reasons. As an inspiring writer, PLG Coffee offering Free Wifi and a workplace with charging stations is a plus. I have a rewards card which assures me a free coffee after 10 visits. Lastly, I plan to try their smoothies and freshly prepared sandwiches at some point.

Yelp
Been waiting over 30 minutes for a BLT and a turkey sandwich. ( I am still waiting ) Sure hope it's worth the wait and the money I got here before it got busy...... The matcha tea is good - but the cold brew I ordered to go is no watered down . But so sure I'll be back

Yelp
Went here this morning for breakfast with my friend. I live in Flatbush so it's so refreshing to see coffee shops opening up in the area. I really needed a pick me up after going out the previous night and this place gave me everything I needed and more. The place has a pretty classic hipster atmosphere going on and they offer a variety of coffee options as well as brunch grub. There was a bit of a line and the venue is kinda small but it was well worth the wait. For my coffee I went with the iced mocha and for food I shared the avocado toast and the bacon, avocado, egg and cheese on a bagel with my friend. To start, the coffee was light and refreshing and not too sweet! Tasted freshly made and had just the right amount of cream:coffee ratio. The avocado toast came on rye bread with a hefty smear of creamy avocado goodness, topped with chia seeds and seasoned with cumin. It was a good way to start the meal, although for my taste I felt the bread could have benefitted from being slightly more toasted. Onto the bagel - wow! It was absolutely perfect. The egg was cooked just to my liking and it was topped with the perfect amounts of cheese, avocado, and bacon. I could honestly eat this every morning and it would not get old (and perhaps I will!) This place will certainly become my new staple coffee shop, especially since they offer free wifi and have a sizable bathroom in the back.

Yelp
As a neighbor who has enjoyed the quality of food for years, I have to complain about the lack of training of your baristas. Basic training would dictate that they take the order and the money as fast as possible on a busy Saturday -- for the sake of the customer and the business. Instead, they chat, share phone photos, discuss where they grew up, went to school, travel plans, leaving a LONG LINE waiting for 15 mins for ONE customer. Then they clean up, keeping everyone waiting, AND THERE ARE TWO OF THEM. please give them basic training for the sake of us who are there to give you our business. I've seen people turn around and walk out instead of standing without service. Management needs to supervise the quality of service. Chatty and slow is not good business.

Yelp
Amazing little cafe shop! I've lived in the neighborhood for years and finally decided to venture into this wonderful deli/cafe. The food here is pretty good - I had the mozzarella, tomato, and pesto sandwich that came with chips and a pickle. Yummy food, big portions and not too pricey. I hung out here for several hours as I completed some projects and I'll hang out here again. The staff here were very welcoming and I didn't feel rushed. I also had one of their natural shakes which was very refreshing.

Yelp
Stayed at a bed and breakfast in Brooklyn with a few of my line sisters, we decided to frequent the PLH for breakfast. It wasn't what we imagined but it serves the purpose. I ordered salmon on a sesame seed bagel with cream cheese red onions capers and lemon, my sisters purchase a croissant egg cheese bacon avocado and the other purchased a wrap with a cheese black beans avocado and other vegetables. All was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Food was fine. I waited 35 mins for a hot coffee... asked the barista about it and she said she'd go get it... I never got it. Common sense needs to be learned here

Yelp
Get ready to feel like you teleported to a small village when you go grab breakfast at this friendly neighborhood spot. The place was so busy that we waited a long time for an outside table, but it wasn't imposible. We enjoyed the egg and cheese biscuit and turkey and cheese on a croissant. The coffee was okay. Definitely recommend for a good start to your day at leisure.

Yelp
In the seclusion of prospect lefferts gardens, there is indeed a gem. PLG coffee house is the local coffee shop that I truly enjoy spending time at. I've been here alone, I've grabbed a coffee passing by, I've been on a date here, I've been to lunch with a girlfriend. It's a versatile place, clearly (or I just don't like being home) I've enjoyed so many things here including many breakfast sandwiches, BLT (one of my favs) and coffee of course! All yummy! They have a printer! There staff is super friendly and they take their time talking with you. Because they are the only coffee shop in the area I'm willing to spend a large amount of time at, the prices are a little expensive.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE eating at PLG. Their food is ALWAYS fresh, great portions, and healthy! My favorite is the Turkey Club and my husbands favorite is the Smoked Salmon. Great food, great environment, professional and friendly staff and a clean setting. PLG is a must try! Once you try food off the menu you will be a forever customer. The only downside is that the morning time rush can delay the wait time of your food delivery, in-house/outdoor dining, and pickup orders due to the crowd, but it's worth it. The food order is ALWAYS correct and cooked to order.

Yelp
Waited over 30 minutes for an order which I asked about. They told me it's being made. Turns out they thought it was a repeat so no one was making it.
