The 20 Best Restaurants In Amsterdam 2024

"No one comes to Amsterdam for the balmy weather and beaches, so if you find yourself in the city on the rare warm day, you’ll want to hop on the free ferry to the NDSM wharf across the Ij and claim any number of spots at the multi-purpose Pllek. The food is mostly plant-based and does the job in between morning yoga and late-night clubbing: falafel with eggplant cream and pomegranate, portobello mushroom burgers with kimchi mayo, and salad with fried cod. Just don’t forget to head back on the last ferry at 2am if you’re not staying in Noord (buses and trains still run if you forget)." - paolo espanola

On the Grid : Pllek

"Old shipping containers stacked on top of each other on a man-made beach, ambling down to the shore of the IJ: Pllek is just as awesome as it sounds. This restaurant/bar/beach club is very family friendly, but keep in mind that it’s also home to Amsterdam’s biggest disco ball. That means on Friday and Saturday nights, things can get pretty heated (one might even say ‘lit’)." - Mr. Koreander

"Hop on the free ferry from the city’s Central Station for the 15-minute ride to the NDSM wharf, an old shipyard that’s transformed into a hipster haven with restaurants, bars, and artists' studios. The waterfront “beach bar” Pllek is a popular spot here; built out of old shipping containers, the soaring, dual-level space has an industrial vibe, with corrugated-metal walls warmed by bright artwork, an indoor fireplace, and huge windows looking out over the IJ River. But it’s the man-made beach that draws crowds in warm weather, with comfy beanbags and loungers where you can while away the afternoon. There’s a nice selection of beer and wine; the food is simple but surprisingly good, and it's crafted with fresh, organic ingredients. Pllek also hosts live-music events, DJs, dance parties, films, and morning yoga classes."

I went there for a coffee, but ended up discovering it’s also a great spot for a beer. The menu has good vegetarian and vegan options, and my order was amazing. The service was great and the place is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The view outside is incredible, perfect for enjoying a late afternoon. Highly recommend!

Google
I enjoyed the beautiful summer view and the pleasant breeze. However, the samosa didn’t quite meet my expectations, possibly because I’m used to Indian samosas. Despite this, the atmosphere was great and enjoyable, with an amazing view.

NICE RESTAURANT! I have been to this place many times with friends and it’s very cozy. The drinks are good, staff is friendly, wheelchair friendly and enough parking. Summer is the best time to be in Amsterdam North because you can sit by the water and sunbathe ☀️ It can be a bit noisy and busy in the weekend, holidays and summer. I really recommend Pllek.

Google
Sunny days are pretty special in Amsterdam, as most people know this. Pllek is a great spot to enjoy the sun. The vibe is really nice, and even though places like this don’t always have the best food, the food here is actually really tasty. They don’t take reservations for the terrace, but you can usually find a place to sit in the garden or at the shared tables. It’s easy to get there—just take the free NDSM ferry from Central Station and walk for about 5 minutes. Overall: 4/5 — Great atmosphere, tasty food, and perfect for sunny days!

Google
For my first meal back in Amsterdam, this was absolutely awful! The burger, extremely overpriced for what it was at 21€, was incredibly average. The meat itself was the worst offender because it tasted rubbery, tough and like it came premade from a supermarket. Absolutely do not recommend getting that burger, that's basically it.

Google
Very nice atmosphere on a sunny day and nice food too, fresh juices are delicious. I feel like the prices are a little expensive for the brunch.

Google
Beautiful and trendy spot right by the water. Large inside and even larger outside area. Parking available but also possible to get there by ferry. We enjoyed a few glasses of wine with nibbles outside in the sunny afternoon. Very nice to chill there, but it got very busy though.

Was okay nothing great … too pricey We had been here for breakfast after seeing the reviews. we had the 1. Shakshuka- 4/5 was good nothing great 2. Avocado toast with poached egg - 3/5 - average 3. Veg burger - 3/5- not so good 4. Orange juice - 5/5 fresh and good

Yelp
Very cool ambiance, but service was really poor. We had originally ordered the 3 course menu, but service was so slow that we opted out of the dessert. As others had mentioned, this is mostly vegetarian and/or vegan (which we didn't realize ahead of time). The dishes we had were good, but not amazing. Our favorite dish was the fried brown shimeji with poached egg, morels foam, spinach and grilled flatbread (I had to go back to the menu to figure out what the dish actually was). We probably wouldn't go back unless it was a beautiful day to sit in the sand and have a drink.

Yelp
We came for happy hour on a week night. It was a short, easy, and free ferry right from Amsterdam Central. Two of us shared an order of the Sourdough bread with aioli & powdered smoked paprika and an order of the Grilled flatbread with curd, za'atar, pomegranate, red onion, parsley & olive oil. Both were delicious, but I especially like the aioli that came with the sourdough bread! I had a Cube Libre and the Caipirovska. The cocktail selection was a little odd, but they tasted good. Overall, this is a great place to sit outside near the water and enjoy good food and drinks!

Yelp
With an "I beg your pardon" to other reviewers, I am here to share that this place is a treasure IF: - You have children who like to play in sand boxes while you are dining (and drinking). - You live in Noord, the art, music festival and relaxed restaurant hub of Amsterdam. - You don't mind catching the free short ferry ride to the striking Eye Film Museum and/or the A'DAM Lookout for the swing of your life, followed by any-time-of-the-day or evening eating and drinking. - You'd care to dine while watching a film outdoors in the summer. - You are working remotely and wish to sunbathe while doing it. While there are limited meat, chicken and fish choices (wild boar and sea bass, for instance), locally grown vegetables are the stars here. The avocado toast with a poached egg is a favorite. Limoncello Tonic, Moscow or Berlin Mule or Mojito are just some choices along with a good selection of wines, beers and coffees. In short, I think residents of the area couldn't live without this place while most tourists don't catch (or want) the chill vibe.

Yelp
Breathtaking oceanside views with incredibly fresh seafood dishes to match. Beautiful medley of families, couples and friends enjoying the restaurant. Unique inside seating with couches, a balcony area and wine options. Amazing spot.

Yelp
Recommended by hotel concierge for a close place to eat. Didn't k ow most of the menu was vegetarian or vegan. Atmosphere upstairs was nice and you could see the water also quieter whereas the picnic style tables in the first floor are not my fav unless it's outside casually. Flatbread was great! Wine was good. Service was a little flaky but the waitress was nice although showed more skin than Hooters, but more tasteful. Wanted to try the butternut squash pasta dish but we were either a carnivore and made other arrangements for the rest of the meal. I would eat there again.
google avatar

Cheryl H.

Yelp
It's a cool spot to sit on the faux beach and eat/drink but the menu is small. I got the avocado toast and it didn't have much flavor. It's overpriced too for what I was expecting. The location is neat though with a fun view of the water. I would visit again but just for drinks not food.

Yelp
The ambiance is so cool, warehouse turned groovy eclectic with a giant disco ball. overlooks the water. Food was absolutely delicious!! also loved the server. and random but the bathrooms are also really cool. def go! also there's a crane hotel right next to it which was cool to see.

Yelp
I repeated this place recently and I'm delighted that the restaurant has only improved in the past few years. It's a lovely, hip restaurant built from shipping containers that offers wonderful options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. You can take a free ferry from Central Station to NDSM to reach the cool space. You can sit outside for drinks or dine inside but reservations are recommended. Enjoy!

Yelp
What a great spot. Coming from Florida I loved it! On the water but in an industrial space with a little beach area to hang out after dinner. The food was delicious. We pre-ordered for a birthday so I'm not sure if these items are on the regular menu.

Yelp
In the "upcoming" party area of the city.... Noord. Great place. Caved out of shipping containers with the river front wall made of a huge window on the Eye... and the city skyline. Great spot Very young crowd... service folks included. A mix between restaurant and music/ dance place. Come for a nice dinner with a very short menu... or drinks. My dinner was good.. even if service was very slow... kitchen closes at 22:00. Great starter... the Coriander Falafel well presented and very tasty. Then I went for a classic twist of the Dutch/German worst... sausage. Very very nice. Music was not too loud even if the place gets very noisy. Two level seatings.. with a large sofa to lunge on the side. Over all a great place... and in summer / not rainy day there is a great terrace with access to the Noord city beach... very very nice

Yelp
I had the chance to visit Pllek on a Friday night for my birthday dinner. From city center you had to take a ferry to reach the restaurant located in developing north Amsterdam. After arriving its a short 5 minute walk to the space itself. Even though this seems like a journey to get to the spot it's definitely worth it given where it's located. Situated in old shipping containers the spot boasts a huge main dining area outfitted with a bar, DJ table, and working fireplace all with a beautiful view of the bay. We were seated right in the middle of the space and were taken back by the openness of the restaurant. It's ideal place for a gathering of friends or a spot guaranteed to impress on date night. The reason I'm giving this restaurant three starts is because of the limited menu. Apparently they made the switch over to a completely vegetarian selection recently and only had a handful of dishes to choose from. I ended up going with the one meat dish they did have available, the duck, which was well prepared, I'd definitely recommend it. Service was also a bit problematic. After taking our orders the waiter brought wrong dishes to our table on two separate occasions. This also caused a delay in us receiving our dishes since they had apparently gone to the wrong table. Regardless of the small issues, dining here was truly an experience! I'd recommend it for the stunning view and unique venue.

Yelp
This is a very neat place with old rail containers that is seated by a man made beach. It's one of the hot spots to hang out in Amsterdam. You have to take the ferry to get here but we'll worth the visit. I ate the mackerel sandwich, and it fresh as well as tasty! The slight salt and sweetness of the dressing made this one of the best sandwiches I've eaten in a long time. I would recommend this if you're craving fish! Come on over and enjoy!

Yelp
A fun time off the beaten path. It starts with a free ferry ride from Centraal Station and a short walk to the water edge when you get off the ferry. The food is decent, but you go for the waterside view and fun ambiance. The tables are mostly picnic benches outside and there is an assortment of other furniture. The staff is friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
The location of this restaurant is great. Such a unique concept and a must-see. I arrived around 8pm and the place was PACKED. It was difficult to find a table, but we did. We had difficulty flagging down an employee to order. I got the eggplant and artichoke salad. It was good but had WAY too much oil on it. My friend got the lamb and said it was mediocre. He also ordered the tompouce. I had a bite and it was absolutely delicious. The cream was the best I've ever had! The prices are fairly expensive for the amount you get, but it is more of an experience. I would return solely for the tompouce!

Renee W.

Yelp
Best Beet Salad I have ever had. Sliced golden beets layer the bottom, with cubed red beets in the center. A nice health portion of borata cheese, almonds. Delicious! The house white wine was very nice. Great service, great ambiance and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Really cool, stylish, yet cosy interior, great views, friendly service, delicious food&drinks. Do not get scared on the way there through abandoned containers, you will reach the place. Definitely a keeper!

Yelp
Nice restaurant/bar next to the IJ lake north west of Central station. Good for hot summer days. To get there is already fun: take the free pont from central station to NDSM for 20 minutes and then walk approx 5 min along the shore of the IJ back direction of the station....and you are there. Food was ok. We had the weekmenu, a curry, a cheeseplatter and rhubarb crumble. Personally I felt the curry was a bit blend and needed a bit more spices, but the cheeseplatter made up for this. The wines were good. View is good, with the IJ lake with all boats passing by during dinner. We did not get bored. Service is excellent. Plan to return again in future, with flipflops, sunnies and sunscreen.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest places to go in Amsterdam. It's very chill and has a great view. Good beer, great burgers and fries, a beach where you can enjoy the sun with your kids and a lot of tables to sit outside that you can enjoy the sun while eating your burger and drinking your beer. You may need to take the ferry and walk a little bit to get here but it's definitely worth the effort! you have to go here before you leave amsterdam.
google avatar

Kasia K.

Yelp
Place was freaking amazing. I had the bolete mushrooms salad. Not only the food was amazing, the whole atmosphere was incredible. We came here a total of three times on our 3day Amsterdam trip. That should say something. Be sure to check out the summer festivals to hear some awesome tunes and good vibes! Oh and get the mushroom salad and local beer.
google avatar

Siz D.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and location. Staff is superfriendly too! In summer they've got loads of things going on (as well as in winter) like theater/movie festivals, live Music etc. Food is great, sometimes a hit and miss but that might be due to amount of people they're serving at a time. If you're with more than 8 peeps, they will ask you to have the: family menu(3 courses). Lastly: the view is amazing and make sure you're there at night to enjoy the beanbags&fire outside!
google avatar

Floris V.

Yelp
Lovely location, especially on a clear day! Great vibes, long tables on the terrace or beach-chairs on the beach. Healthy and delicious food choices, as well as refreshing drinks. They could use a little bit more of a choice on the craft beer side though.
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
Take a short FREE ferry ride to the Noord side and go to Pllek. Can't beat the view. I had a decent burger and a super chill time. If it is sunny, this is a nice place to relax and have lunch and beers. They also have fire pits, won't that be a cozy way to spend an evening? Going to try that soon.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Yesterday I went here for another lunch; the weather was great! Cold, but Sunny; that means when you're visiting Pllek, they'll have a nice fire going and because of the large windows, the temperature becomes very pleasant. I'll put this in a tip as well; I'd recommend calling about an hour in advance as Pllek is a very popular place to spontaneously visit for lunch during weekends. We started it off with a red fruit smoothie, to get at least some vitamins in our system this weekend. Twas delicious. The lunch itself was nothing short of amazing. There's a thing in the Netherlands called a 'Smoked Sausage', which you'll read on a menu as 'Rookworst'. Us Dutchies don't have many culinary things that we can really call Dutch. In fact, I would not call it a culinary thing: it's more of a specialty. However, this smoked sausage.. It was crazy nice. I've added some pictures of it and I will also change my profile picture to feature it! The 'Rookworst' was made of wild boar, giving it a very nice, outspoken taste. It was served on airy sourdough bread, with a mustard-sauce and crispy onions all over. YUM. The entire lunch menu was very reasonably priced and quite diverse. Finished the afternoon nice and relaxed with a coffee and small bites, it really was a great Sunday vibe being at Pllek.
google avatar

Rachelle Y.

Yelp
Do not - I repeat - do not come here thirsty or hungry. And do not come here if you're in a rush. Do order the mackerel sandwich. Mmmmm. The aubergine was also quite good. If the sun is out, do wear lots of sunblock. You will get LOTS of sun. And also if the sun is out, do bring your beach gear and lay out on the "beach". This is a fantastic venue for wasting a sunny day away. Worth the mini trek North.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
This place is so cool. A restaurant in shipping container with a patio and river-front? Yes! It's a nice open space inside without feeling too open and empty. It's actually quite cozy! Love the indoor fireplace which kept everything nice and toasty on a cold day. And one day I will have to try the unusual table with the elevated seats areas that looks more like a lounge. I could see myself hang out there all day! Service was excellent. The ladies were so pleasant. I asked for tap water to start and they brought a bottle for us. And they didn't even bother us knowing we just had a coffee and bottle of water between us. Remember that service in Amsterdam is such that you have to let them know when you want something else. They aren't necessarily being rude, they just want you to enjoy your time with who you are with! Now to the burger. I had high expectations for some reason. It was fine, but it wasn't the best I've had in Amsterdam. But there's a lot of spots that specialize in burgers, so I don't hold it against them. Keep in mind that if you order a burger, it doesn't come with anything on the side. Can't wait to go back and try something else!
google avatar

Christopher F.

Yelp
We read about this place and decided to take the ferry to check it out. We got there and were most impressed. The vibe is neo-industrial meets hip. I thought the decor was really well done. There is inside and outside seating. There is also a 'beach' which is more gravel than sand. The views of Amsterdam are quite impressive. Very cool. The service was great and the beers were cold. Be sure to check out the surrounding area and all the great graffiti. This bar is a great spot for a drink!

Sofia O.

Yelp
Taking the free ferry to the Northern side is fun. Here you find lots of street art and experience a very industrial vibe at Pllek beach. You can go at night or enjoy the beach in a swimsuit during the day!
google avatar

Lily B.

Yelp
Incorrect information about used products in their food/drinks. Employees don't want to solve the problem and communicate very rudely and disturbed when you talk to them about it.
google avatar

Bog V.

Yelp
One of my favourite places in Amsterdam. The industrial set-up on the IJ rives, the containers design and construction, the awesome view on Amsterdam and nice cool crowed makes a great place. Menu is nice, good beer selection, service is very nice most of the times, sometimes a tad cold. Depending on when you go, there are several Pllek: sunny beach and lazy going outside, live music and other cool concerts in the night, makes a special place to be.
google avatar

Paty R.

Yelp
Our waiter was super nice, my burger tasted amazing, and this establishment has a wonderful aesthetic/ view!
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Went for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon, the sun was shining but the wind was to strong to stay outside. Pllek was the perfect solution while being at the Noord side, it is very big, open and bright, with the fire place inside, which contributes to the good atmosphere and the overview of the IJ. The service is nice and fast, we only took a coffee though, but the dishes looked tempting as well.
google avatar

Aileen C.

Yelp
I was accidentally booked by my company at the doubletree Amsterdam wharf and was so disappointed until I found out this restaurant. I would have given 5 stars but the food took awhile and I was by myself. Other than that, ambience was great, very cool laid back vibe. Felt comfortable dining alone. Food was great, I had the fish dish. Service was great and server checked back in assuring that the food was coming acknowledging the wait. Great for friends, family and even a night alone!
google avatar

Thom And Vicky H.

Yelp
Pllek is a sweet spot when you only want to go to one place, and stay there forever (most likely due to the weather), as long as you keep ordering! The restaurant's brunch to lunch to dinner parade is seamless; the food and ambiance are great. During a long visit you can watch the crowds move and change from friendly groups to couples, families, and celebrations (bonus if you're there for the fireplace being lit). Pllek's design is one of its best highlights; made out of cargo containers in varied hues, you're immediately aware of its innovative perspective. It's super chic and sleek interior proffers all types of seating depending on your mood and party size. Sit down and they'll spot you because the servers are quick and helpful. From brunch to evening we had: mint tea (refreshing), chai latte (just right), garbanzo bean soup (savory), hummus sandwich (amazing bread), eggs benedict with spinach (wholesome), bread and aioli (flavorful), and two craft beers (a cider and bock which were splendid). Though their menu has changed since, it now looks even more fantastic. All in all, Pllek is that place you'll set an alarm for on the weekend; this soon to be favorite spot of yours is sure treat your taste buds.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
The food was ok. Atmosphere is industrial warehouse shabby-chic constructed out of old shipping containers. Less chic more industrial. Service was sporadic. We were missing fried onions with the sandwich and were almost done before we could get anyone's attention to fix the oversight. They brought a single dish of cold fried onions to fix the problem...... Young waitresses are cute. However, set yourself on fire and when they come to see about the fuss you might ask for what you need. Otherwise you will not be waited on.
google avatar

Suzanne B.

Yelp
Our friends recommended this place and the view IS really cool with beach/fire pit area BUT the dinner menu is VERY limited. The lunch menu looks good but they won't serve it at dinner. Dinner menu is pricey but that's not what stopped us...the poor selection is. We tried to make due and order the kids pizza and fries since we'd already ordered drinks but they wouldn't even let us order fries alone!!! The mojito I ordered wasn't even a good one :( totally disappointed and it wasnt easy to get to.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Cool, cool spot - perfect for my first outing to the NDSM! "Beach" front seating and a great interior bar playing some amazing music. The staff are all very loopy though, walking around dazed and leaving us confused whenever we tried to flag them down for food and drink and they had some strange criteria for where they could/couldn't serve us. Overall though, it is a great location for a bar! Our group just had snacks, but I don't really think I'd want to splurge on a full meal here. I ordered what was labeled as nachos but they were really just tortilla chips, hardened cheese, a tomato/cucumber/parsley topping that I assume was meant to be pico de gallo and served with a side of thousand island dressing. ABSURD! (quest for nachos in Amsterdam continues...)

Jen S.

Yelp
Do not go for the food There is plenty in town. It is the experience . We had average low average pizzas - I know we wanted basic as we had fancy all week. For kids it's fine for us lousy, my husbands asparagus dinner was excellent . The bread excellent , the chaos fun to people watch. Desserts good. Drinks average Take the ferry it's free and fast and fun. You are in a shopping yard that looks sketchy driving in by Uber but that's part of the fun. The beach and outdoor area is fun and packed with partners and it gets cool st night being right on the open water. Worth the visit but don't go with high food expectations.
google avatar

Michaela C.

Yelp
Great food. Great place. The staff were very nice. Right on the water and a very cozy ambience, feels like a more local place to chill and is a good escape from the busy centre. Highly recommend the MRY burger and smoked sausage burger (if you like sauerkraut). Well worth the ferry ride.
google avatar

OM L.

Yelp
I would rather prefer the occasional DJ set here to the dinning experience. Hardly can any clubs here, except Sky Lounge, has astonishing views. I miss alfresco bars in Hong Kong but the harbour neon through its window at Pllek made it up. Saturday and Sunday afternoon is super family friendly for some coffee or drinks. They offer okayish smoothie which changes daily. Always nice crowd and chilling vibe. The deco is more chic than average warehouse here somehow. So easy to get there if you take the Houthavenveer ferry. I have heard the North is getting to Amsterdam's Williamsburg. Don't miss the gem then.
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
The food was eh. The waiter was rude to my girlfriend when she asked about the salads. He said "You can just look at the menu". Along with that the place was miserably hot in the summer time. Other tables were provided water on the hot day right away without asking, we had to wait and ask again. Asked for the check and had to wait for another waiter to come around. Bad experience. Cool design and scenery, not a good experience.
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
My friend and I had a wonderful summer day at this place. The industrial style is very cool, there is a lot of space to sit inside and outside. Since it was a warm day, we had lunch inside and sat outside for drinks. I had a burger which I found very tasty, the service was really fast, I was surprised because the restaurant was full. After we could enjoy outside laying on the pillows that they have next to the water. I did miss service at that place, If you want to drink something you will have to walk inside to order it for the rest we had a great experience. I would definitely go back soon .
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
This place definitely has character. It's built out of shipping containers. A very pleasant place with available family style food. Food was delicious. Recommend the mushrooms for appetizer.
google avatar

Miss Ally A.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. Really cool vibe indoors in the main dining area/bar. There's a side spot where they have bands, which is small and nice. The nearly wrap-around "beach" is awesome. I can hardly wait to come back in the warmer months and I'm definitely making this a spot to take my visitors. Atmosphere: awesome.

Yelp
Actually it cost me some effort to share this place with you. Long time ago, for my 36th birthday, we arranged a' hippie party' at Woodstock, the beach club in Boemendaal at the sea. The place was not at all yet known under the in crowd of the area, our friends and acquaintances. It was thought of as a pot smoking weirdo place for a different crowd. But after our party it become a very popular place among this other group. Anyway, I digress from this place called 'Pllek'. This is now one of our favorite hang-outs in Amsterdam. You'll find yourself in an other world. This starts by taking the ferry behind the central station direction NDSM-warf. You could also get there by car and park your car for free in front of the door, but sailing across the water gives you this special 'hideaway feeling'. Away from the hectic life in the city (don't get me wrong because i love the city life), soaking up the sights of all the new architectural buildings, like the Eye, along the borders on your way to the north of Amsterdam. Getting of the ferry you immediately bump into another 3 great eateries and a little walk to the right takes you to 'Pllek". It is made out of containers with a silo type of form. Inside the atmosphere is very homely and relaxed. Chef Dimitri Mulder (known from restaurants Wilde Zwijnen en 't Jagershuis) cooks his surprising and biological worldly dishes, together with his team. Since a week in his grand new kitchen, instead of a small anex-caravan. The view from the restaurant is phenomenal. When the weather permits you are able to sit on their large terrace and enjoy mouthwatering biological sandwiches for lunch. In front of the terrace their is a public beach which makes it even more sociable and cosy. They try to work in a eco friendly environment, with everything durable and fair-trade. Every sunday afternoon there is live music and for private parties you can hire the building next to the restaurant with it's own outside terrace and bar.

Yelp
Yes! Let's go there! And if you're a white wine fan: try the biological wine. Love It Love It Love It. Allright so, now you have a drink. Let's eat! Anything. It's all good. Some classics were given an original twist, how about the boar-bitterballs! Who knew, bitterballs with the authentic flavour of wild meat. It's awesome. The staff is never in a hurry, but you'll forgive them. One of the people in my company once said: they all look different but the thing they have in common are their friendly eyes. She was right. Everyone in the staff has friendly eyes, (exept the girl that took away half of my bowl of olives) maybe this is why you feel welcome. Maybe it's the homely feel with the fire pits, maybe it's the casual but polite way they adress you. Whatever. I like it. Why no five stars? Well, that's because I'm never a big fan of places that are being hyped, and no matter how nice this place is... It feels a bit like hipsters. (Sorry ya'll... I'm just not one of you...) But I will be back!

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Ambience is ever so warm and cozy. Burning fireplace is very inviting. The location is unassuming. It's an industrial area. The building is made of old cargo containers. On the inside is large loft style warehouse with a wood burning fireplace opposite side. I had the wild boar sausage sandwich and my wife had the chicken sandwich. They were fantastic with the right amount of salt and flavor. The sofas were very comfortable and service is nice. The venue is on the waterfront with a unobstructive view of amsterdam's northern waterfront.

Yelp
Delicious food - my best meal of 2015 by far! Nice atmosphere. Great wine. Busy even on a Thursday night, can understand why.

Yelp
Great spot to visit. Day or night time. Just take the GVB free boat ride and walk few steps to PLLEK. You can sit on the couches upstates for beautiful view of Amsterdam. 5+ rating

Yelp
You come here for the beers and the view. But not for the food. So get a few bites, a lot of beer and kick back and people watch
