56 NYC Restaurants Selling Groceries And Meal Kits - New York - The Infatuation

"We’re going to go ahead and assume that your roommates aren’t chefs who have worked at places like Per se and the Nomad, which means you’re probably having a hard time making dinner at home feel special right now. Thankfully, Gastronomy Underground, a delivery-only Mexican restaurant run by chefs who have, is prepared to bring you a $45 meal kit that can help. Every Tuesday and Friday, Gastronomy Underground prepares taco feats that come with pork confit carnitas or a vegetarian option (usually squashes and eggplant in a creamy sauce made of pumpkin seeds), and a side of rice and beans. Perfect pork and fresh corn tortillas aside, every meal also comes with a pamphlet explaining each dish and a QR code linking to a curated Spotify playlist created by the restaurant team to bring some ambiance to your meal." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, matt tervooren

Ploo - Review - Chelsea - New York - The Infatuation

"Ploo is by far the best option in Olly Olly Market, and it's where you should go when you can’t get your hands on one of the sold-out burritos from Forsyth Fire Escape. Unfortunately, Ploo tends to run out of stuff by late afternoon as well, thanks to their chewy handmade flour tortillas filled with meat that’s been so thoroughly marinated it’s like they’re trying to win a medal for it. Only the “Army of Meat” steak taco automatically comes on a flour tortilla, but feel free to sub flour for corn for any of the others, and don’t forget to add a side of smokey bone marrow salsa." - Neha Talreja

Easily the best Mexican food I've had in Manhattan. Lovely tacos al pastor, fish tacos and michelada. I'll definitely have their margarita next time. Pablo, the owner and chef, is so pleasant to talk to and really takes customer feedback to heart. He was really welcoming and proud of the food being produced at Ploo. Was easy for me to get to from my office in Midtown. I recommend you use Citi bike to park at 27th and 11th and use those burned calories to eat here. As good as the food I've had in East Los Angeles and Mexico City! Cannot recommend enough!

Hands down, the best tacos in NYC! Food is 10 out of 10. We ordered every taco from the menu so we could try them all. Quite difficult to choose a favorite as all were delicious and flavorful. I'd say their tongue-and-cheek taco is their most authentic taco and a must-have. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and the chefs are passionate with a sense of high customer service.

Some of the best tacos of I’ve had, the tortillas are fresh and the meat is really flavorful and juicy. They were absolutely delicious! The drinks were good and refreshing too. The service was also fast.

Their food is soo good. Their vegan option (vegan as a boy) was fresh yet still gives you the comfort of a taco. Their avo-salsa is not chunky but trust, the thickened consistency is perfect for their blue corn chips. They were slammed for lunch but they made sure all customers got their right order.

We had the tongue n cheek Taco and a michelada and both were great. The taco was one of the best we've had in the city. A lot of flavorful meat and the salsa was delicious. While it was a little pricy, it's not much more expensive than other tacos in the city but with much better quality ingredients. Definitely worth it. All the dishes and drinks look really inventive and I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in NYC. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in NYC. Highly recommend! Hands down the best tasting tacos I’ve tried.

Place was such a vibe. Everything in this market is quickly becoming my favorite. Stopped in for lunch, got a few tacos and the soup. That soup is out of this world! Will definitely be back.

Went after the basquiat expo sat at a table to enjoy the tacos and was blown away at how tasty and close they are to actual street tacos. 10/10 I had the fish and lingua and both were outstanding. I also had the horchata which was very close to authentic mexican just used to having more cinnamon taste. The basil beverage was also tasty .
