Pluvio restaurant and rooms

The food, atmosphere and service exceeded our expectations. One of the best meals we have ever had. Chef Warren personally checked us into our room and followed up with us at our table. The limited seating makes the experience feel more intimate and authentic. Lily greeted us on arrival by name and thoughtfully remembered personal details. Our servers were extremely professional and kind - they had every aspect of the meal memorized to describe to us without any hesitation. We loved watching the kitchen, it was extremely clean (they were cleaning the hoods after the first turn??!) and the cooks were calm and focussed. The food was hyper local including grains milled in port Alberni and sturgeon from great central lake. I especially loved the sturgeon app - it was the perfect combination of textures and flavors with the bright acidity of the piccalilli, the creamy savoury cheesecake and the melt in your mouth richness of the hot smoked sturgeon. One of our favourite meals. We sat at the kitchen bar/chef's table where we could watch everything and chat with the chefs. Great fun presentations. The food was amazing and the drinks pairing perfect. The desert was a little underwhelming and that's the only negative I can give. The space is small but leads to an intimate atmosphere. Not pretentious. The staff were great.

Came for the restaurant. Was absolutely delighted and will visit again if I’m back. Really enjoyed the service too, I felt well attended to but not overly. My favs: snacks in the beginning, the sturgeon, the salmon, and the cornbread My okays: waffle, both desserts, spotdog Misses: rye bread, the sablefish Overall I throughly enjoyed the dinner, it was well paced and I left feeling very full. It’s definitely worth the price.

Top dining experience. Staff were incredibly kind and make a point of knowing your name. They truly were committed to making the dining experience one of a kind. Every bite of food was full of flavour. It’s an expensive experience but certainly a special one. Highly recommend.

Our experience at Pluvio's restaurant was incredible. We were celebrating our anniversary and I can't tell you enough how much Rachel and the rest of the team took excellent care of us. Their tasting menu offers an unforgettable culinary experience. We highly recommend it to anyone planning to be in the area. We'll definitely be back! Grazie mille!

My husband and I stayed and dined with Pluvio recently and it was spectacular. The location is perfect for touring around town, the rooms are super comfortable with thoughtful touches everywhere. At the restaurant we both enjoyed Chef Warrens tasting menu with wine pairings. Everything about the service and food was exceptional. Truly such a special spot. We cannot wait to come back

We booked Pluvio for two nights, but due to the Hwy 4 closure, we stayed just one night. From the start, Lily, the manager, was incredibly kind and understanding, even waiving the night charge for our first night, which set the tone for a truly exceptional experience. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and full of charming details. Every element felt thoughtfully designed, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. Breakfast prepared by the chef was a bonus for us! This was my second time dining at Pluvio, and it was just as extraordinary as the first. Dinner was an unforgettable, five-star gourmet experience. Each course was refreshingly original and bursting with flavor. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional, complementing the high-quality food perfectly. This is Michelin-star-level cuisine at a great value, all within the cozy charm of a small, thoughtfully curated restaurant. From the rooms to the dining, Pluvio exceeded every expectation. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Pluvio is a feast for the eyes. Watching the chefs working in the kitchen is mesmerizing. The service is quiet, unpretentious and spot on. The food is original, fresh and well balanced...you can taste what you are eating...nothing is overpowered. The non alcoholic drink pairings are the best I've had anywhere. Definitely my favourite Canadian restaurant.
