"In Seattle, people get very serious about finding the best transplant food - like New York-style pizza, Nashville hot chicken, or California burritos. (We could go on and on for a truckload of zip codes across the states, but we won’t.) If New Orleans-style food is what you’re looking for, we have good news and bad news about B’s Po Boy, a casual beachside restaurant on Alki. This sit-down spot with a great view has classic NOLA dishes like gumbo, etouffe, and, yes, po’boys. We really like the fried shrimp sandwich, but we’re not big fans of the other things we’ve tried. As far as po’boys go, B’s does a lot of things right. The bread they use is from Leidenheimer Bakery in New Orleans, and it’s perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Filling options range from blackened catfish and chipped roast beef with gravy to battered fried shrimp and oysters. As mentioned earlier, our clear favorite is the fried shrimp sandwich - it’s delicious, with tender shellfish and a crispy breading that’s spiced perfectly. It’s even better when you sub in the homemade lemon aioli for mayo, and at $16 for a full sandwich and $10 for a (generous) half, it’s pretty affordable, too. photo credit: Nate Watters Other dishes unfortunately don’t work out as well. The pulled pork has a nice spicy kick, but it’s overly wet and oily. This makes the bread too soggy, which is a shame, after it took a cross-country trip to get here. The catfish crosses the fine line between blackened and burned - and don’t get us started on the gumbo, which tastes watery and bland. (We guess you got us started on it after all, but we’re certainly not finishing it.) As disappointing as those things are, the fried shrimp sandwich still shines. Plus, the staff is friendly, and we like sitting at the bar. So stop by for the po’boy, some sweet potato fries, and a local beer, and you may be content with finally x-ing out of that SeaTac-to-NOLA Kayak tab on your computer for the time being. Food Rundown Fried Shrimp Po’boy Winner. This is the best sandwich in the joint. The batter is light and crunchy, and the portion of shrimp is pretty generous (if some fall out, treat them as dessert). Swap the traditional mayo for the homemade lemon aioli, and you’ll be very happy. BBQ Pulled Pork Po’boy The tender pork has a commendable kick, but it’s so greasy and saucy that the bread absorbs it all too quickly and gets very soggy. More power to you if you unhinge your jaw and eat this at the speed of light, but you’re better off just getting the shrimp. Blackened Catfish Po’boy When we had this, the fish was burnt and overly spicy. Again, skip in favor of the shrimp. Sweet Potato Fries Nothing life-changing, but these taste good with a side of remoulade or lemon aioli. Get some with your sandwich. Creole Slaw This actually has a nice kick to it from mustard and sriracha, and is seasoned well. But there’s a bit too much dressing. Cajun Mac & Cheese Well-cooked cavatappi pasta in a creamy cheese sauce with andouille sausage and lots of spices, but not enough salt. Skip. Chicken & Andouille Gumbo This also tastes like it needs a lot more salt. Too soupy and very bland." - Aimee Rizzo

"If you want to watch a game while snacking on chips and salsa or excellent short rib tacos, stop by Papito. The staff is friendly, there’s a TV set up above the bar, and portions are huge, so you’ll probably have leftovers. They also have tons of mezcal, tequila, and cocktails." - team infatuation

"This place is owned by the same people as Chez Maman and they use the same giant whiteboard-by-the-door reservation system, but instead of serving French food, Papito serves Mexican. We like the short rib tacos, but you can’t go wrong with classic al pastor either. No matter how much you told yourself you wouldn’t eat them, don’t skip out on chips because their salsas are great. photo credit: Joey Blacks" - Will Kamensky

Really enjoyed having lunch here at PoBoys Kitchen. The Po Boy sandwich and chicken combo platter were both delicious. The chicken was fried to perfection. The fries were nice and crispy. Highlight was definitely the Cajun sauce that comes on the side. The overall vibe was unique with a nice mural adorning the wall. Highly recommended!

The person behind the food place literally came over to talk to customers finishing up. He is super friendly, and it was great food. There is some wait time on some dishes, but it's a reasonable amount of time, especially since it's fresh.

Google
This literally has the best Chicken Cajun Pasta. It's so delicious...I'm talking about so good that you can't get enough. Also the hot sauce they give you on the side is so unique and creamy and very spicy...love it!!! It's so hard to find any type of Cajun restaurants in the Bay area and especially ones that are this amazing. Wish there were more quality Cajun pastas like this. It's so good that I order it to be delivered and in San Mateo so I pay an extra like $25 for service and delivery fees but that should show you just how good this food is if willing to pay that once in a while. If it wasn't that high I'd order from here every week!! Pic doesn't do it justice cause I mixed it before I took the pic .

The Seafood Jambalaya was very good. Plenty of fresh plump Seafood in it. I also had the collard greens and cornbread which I took home. The Swamp ice tea was delicious, filled with fresh fruit. I give it a 4.5 overall.

Google
Strong 3.5 star rating. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the fried chicken was great but the bread was mighty stale. I’m sure I came on a bad day. Price was fair for the serving size and for the location. I ordered to go and my meal was packaged well enough. I especially liked that every bite didn’t squeeze out any of the contents. I’d come back to try another meal.

Google
We have eaten here twice so far, and will definitely be back again to try some other dishes. So far our favorites have been the shrimp and grits and the Po boy sandwich. The salad was good, but not great. We had a very nice talk with the owner/chef, who is very personable and opened our eyes to some of the issues facing restaurants these days. He and the restaurant are great assets for this neighborhood, definitely worth supporting.

Google
Another place I’ve had my eye on that I finally get to cross of the list! I don’t usually go for the PO’ Boy but that is exactly why I had to try it here. They did not disappoint on any level. Portion sizes were perfect and the food was some of the best New Orleans style cooking I’ve had here in SF. Shrimp PO BOY: Jumbo Prawns and plenty of them Chicken PO BOY: Big Juicy Piece of Chicken on Napa Bread you can’t miss Fish&Chips: Best in the City Cheesecake for dessert(really good)

Came here with friends for brunch. Service was attentive and fast. Food was great! We ordered the gumbo, waffles and chicken, and omelet’s with a side of beignets. Everything was great. Condiments on the table are great too, they don’t ration your maple syrup or hot sauce intake. Enjoy when you go here!

Yelp
Honestly, was not expecting much based on the modest but charming exterior, but the food surpassed my expectations and then some! We sat outside to enjoy the breeze and ordered the sangria and some mains. The service was excellent, very attentive. I would have loved a chilled glass on a hot day but the sangria was still very good. The shrimp and grits was honestly the best I have had in the Bay Area, the sauce was super flavorful and the grits were beyond creamy and perfectly cooked...my husband said his chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy but juicy and we both loved the collard greens. Generous but Perfect portion size. My only mistake was not coming here sooner. But 100% will be back!

Yelp
We came for lunch on a Thu. The vibe was chill. When we got there, all four of the interior tables were taken already so we sat at one of the outdoor tables. When three customers left before our food came out, we asked to move indoors and the waitress quickly cleaned the tables so we could move inside. Overall, service was friendly, casual, and good-natured. We appreciated it! The food was good. We got shrimp & grits, seafood jambalaya, and the fried chicken plate. As the fried chicken plate takes time (which they tell you about the 22-min wait time on the menu + we were also informed by our waitress when we ordered), I asked for the other two plates to be served first after realizing the chicken was why no food was delivered to the table yet (and I had a very hungry mom with me!); they promptly took care of it. Of the three dishes, I liked the seafood jambalaya most; it had lots of fresh seafood, including pieces of white fish, shrimps, calamari, ~4 mussels, and 3 gigantic clams. The shrimp & grits dish was good, though some of the grits was slightly clumpy. We still ate it all!

Yelp
I am so confused but this being a "family southern restaurant ". The guy who runs it is not southern and the recipes didn't taste super authentic. This food was not good. I will preface this by saying I grew up on southern food I also hahe been going to Louisiana every year (New Orleans & Baton Rouge) to visit family so I'm very familiar with the flavors and tastes out there. My main complaints : -unseasoned food , even if you don't like somebody's food in the south this is never an issue it's usually over seasoned for that matter -the chicken was fried in cornmeal?! (If you know, you know ‍) -there's a lot of pictures up of jazz players and such but I think it's just a show ? Or maybe just an admirer ? -my moms poboy was made with wet batter I had barely eaten when the server asked me how I liked my food I was honest asn he said what that's from a chef I admire in Louisiana ‍, which is irrelevant to me liking it. He offered to take it away I insisted that I don't like to waste food but he took my barely eaten plate and wrapped it up behind the kitchen , I'm not sure what he's planning to do with it but that's weird and offered me another dish which was shrimp and grits, the grits weren't even cooked throughly had to take it home. Of course he charged me for the more expensive dish, how convenient He was trying to be nice but was pushy and made me uncomfortable like I was hard to please I never ever send my food back and wasn't going to until he asked. I will never come back and am mostly writing this so I can actually remember not to. There was a few other issues that I don't want to get into but if you know me and are reading this , you're better off staying away and going somewhere else. I'm not sure if this used to be family owned but when I asked the guy he said it was his . Also, the prices online are different than the prices we paid , another red flag I will say the swamp water iced tea was tasty but for $8 I wouldn't order again.

Yelp
I'm not sure why it took me so long to try this place. I've passed by many times and visited other surrounding restaurants. Came here on a nice sunny Saturday. We sat outside and enjoyed a Bloody Mary which was fantastic. I got the shrimp poboy & my partner got the fish poboy. Both of our sandwiches were good. They came with a side of fries & a delicious chipotle? sauce. I can't wait to come back :)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came at around 2:30 pm, and there was no wait. We waited around 25 minutes for our food due to the fried chicken. Our waitress was very sweet! Decorations were New Orleans inspired, and parking is street. I ordered the chicken combo plate ($22), and my boyfriend got the bbq rib platter ($24). The fried chicken was delicious with its incredibly crispy coating and tender meat. The chicken leg was the best part, so so juicy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were pretty good as well; it was rustic, smooth with small chunks. The collard greens were a pass for me, a little bland and a bitter aftertaste. The habaneros sauce was great, a nice numbing spicy sauce. The ribs were super tender and fell off the bone. The sauce was classic barbecue, nothing crazy special. Coleslaw was refreshing, crunchy, and had a light dressing. The beans were quite sad and plain. I thought they were going to baked beans, but they were just seasoned boiled beans. Overall, we thought Po'boys served up solid New Orleans inspired cajun food. The fried chicken and habanero sauce were the standout, and the ribs were definitely soft. Everything else was an afterthought. Not sure if I'd come back for average comfort food at restaurant pricing.

Yelp
We randomly decided to stop by this cute little restaurant for a very late lunch/early dinner one Sunday upon a recommendation from a friend. We are so glad we did. We shared a shrimp po'boy sandwich with fries and an order of jambalaya and both were outstanding. The jambalaya especially was super flavorful and fresh but the po' boy was also really delicious. Can't go wrong with either option. Portions are quite large and had we not had other plans afterwards we would have been fine with taking half home. Instead we finished everything and were just stupidly full for the rest of the night. It was totally worth it. Parking in the area is pretty easy and the owner/manager is the nicest, friendliest person. We will for sure be back.

Yelp
I had one experience and it was delivered to my hospital room. This was one of the better meals I had with delivered food during my time in SF and it really hit the spot! I ordered a chicken combo meal with 3 pieces of chicken, sides were southern style green beans and okra and then an order of the mini cornbread muffins. I had planned on trying their gooey looking Mac n cheese, but it was only available a la cart and not as a side anymore. It was all delicious. The coating was so flavorful and still crispy. The green beans were scrumptious with the bacon, onion. And tomatoes. The okra wasn't slimy and was nice little bites. And the cornbread was perfectly moist and I actually loved the mini size. Nothing felt overly greasy either. I will be ordering again if I'm ever stuck in the hospital again. Not super knowledgeable on southern style soul cuisine, but I was a happy camper!

Brittany H.

Yelp
We stopped by this place we found on Yelp on the way out of town. The Mac and cheese seemed to be missing seasoning but the cheese was great. The fried chicken was good. The green beans were my least favorite. The establishment is small inside. We checked in on yelp and received a 5 percent off of our order. The server only took 1.00 off of one entree and not the whole bill. I removed one star for that. If you've been to New Orleans then this food doesn't compare but good effort since it's so far from N.O.

Manning L.

Yelp
Happened upon this place when we were strolling Potrero and sat down for a meal. The owner was very nice and talked to us for a bit before the dinner rush. We got the shrimp poboy and seafood jambalaya, which were both excellent! We sat outside because it was a nice day and they didn't mind that we had our dog with us!

Grace C.

Yelp
Easy parking at Potrero Hill. Small restaurant with three outdoor tables. We snagged the one with the table for 4 at the hilly sidewalk. I called in advance to order the bucket of chicken as it saids it'll take 25min to prepare. They were nice and all good to let me do that. After we arrived, ordered the shrimp and grits, mashed potatoes with gravy and some sweet potato fries. Everything was solid. Chicken was over fried a tad (can taste a little of the used oil), sweet potato fries couldve been crispier. Service was good and quick. Total came to $95 for 3 people, so usual sf pricing.

Yelp
This is a small southern restaurant that has indoor and outdoor dining. You also have a choice of eating at the counter or at a table, which we chose the later. Our server was very nice giving us some recommendations, letting us sample a drink we were curious about, supplementing our order that wasn't satisfying, and boxing our food. From the recommendations, we ordered the Bucket 'O' Chicken, Shrimp Po'Boy, Gumbo, Mashed Potatoes & Gravey, Corn Bread, Fried Okra, and Beignets, as well as Hurricane and Swamp Water Iced Tea. The Bucket 'O' Chicken had ten pieces of house special battered Fried Chicken. The Fried Chicken was tender and juicy with crunchy Skin on the outside. However the Popcorn that was with the Chicken was stale. The Shrimp Po'Boy The Gumbo was very meh too. It was very bland and didn't have a lot of flavor you usually expect from Gumbo. It was also very watery. Needed more rue. Thankfully, our server let us substitute the Gumbo for the Chicken Jambalaya that was a lot better. The Jambalaya had more spice to it and the Chicken that came with it was nice and moist, but I have still had better Jambalaya. The Mashed Potatoes were okay. Needed some more flavor. But was pretty creamy. The Corn Bread was meh. Very bland and dry. In fact, I like the Trader Joe's boxed Corn Bread more. The Fried Okra was the best of the sides. They were nice and crunchy on the outside while tender and not slimy in the inside, but there was nothing special in terms of taste. Wish that it has a little kick to them or something to make it more tastier. The Beignets were also a disappointment. They were very heavy and kind of hard compared to other Beignets that are fluffy. As for the drinks, the Hurricane drink was thankfully wasn't too sweet like I have had at some places, but wish that it had a little more alcohol taste. The Swamp Water Iced Tea was thankfully not too sweet and was a little cirtrusy. Overall, the food was meh. The saving grace was the Jambalaya and service. Not a place I would come to again.

Yelp
Fun Cajun spot in Potrero Hill. Friendly service in a cozy space. Ordered the chicken plate and the fried chicken was perfectly done: light, crispy cornmeal breading on juicy, tender chicken. The collard greens and mashed potatoes didn't quite compare to the chicken, so the overall plate felt imbalanced. Will go for the bucket of chicken next time! We also ordered the fried okra, which was perhaps the best dish that we ordered. Battered and fried delectably.

Seth B.

Yelp
Enjoy Cajun inspired cuisine at very this cozy joint with quick service and outdoor seating for al fresco dining, along with canned craft brews with southern roots from Louisiana's Abita brewery. Main dishes hit the spot, side dishes are an after thought. Like others they default to tip calculation on top of tax so you could adjust with the 15% option

Myke B.

Yelp
Despite being casually busy our server took carry of us and was the only server at the time. Good timing for prep and delivery time to table outside. Tasty AF greens! I had the pulled pork Po Boy and it was good. I'd bet the shrimp or chicken is a better choice. Sandwich fell apart too easily. Slaw out. Meat out. No sandwich security. Wifey had the jambalaya and it was sooo tasty. Next time I'm coming for corn bread and all the sides

Gary B.

Yelp
The food was very good. And the restaurant wasn't busy, so we got seated right away. Our waitress was quick and friendly. The swamp water tea was delicious, if a little small for $6. Fried Okra was great. I enjoyed my Po' Boy sandwich, it was a bit messy, but the oysters were flavorful. My husband thought the ribs were perfectly cooked, and enjoyed his beans. The only real disappointment was the Sweet Potato Fries which were limp and soft. The outside seating made it so we could enjoy the pleasant afternoon weather.

Kriti S.

Yelp
Amazing southern restaurant right off 18th! It's a small place with some seating outside and inside! Food is incredible, the chicken and the fish were super crispy. The chicken was really juicy and all the sides were delicious. I'm not usually a fan of thick fries but these were well seasoned and crispy. Will definitely be added to my favorites!

Lois M.

Yelp
I have wanted to try their Bucket O Chicken for a long time and finally ordered it with our fav ,Baked Mac and Cheese and Fried Okra. The chicken was so crispy, flavorful and oh so juicy. The okra was great and some of the best mac out there. Keep it up.

Sam L.

Yelp
Great little spot to score some authentic Louisiana style eats. The chicken Po Boy was one of the best I've ever had, with a great side of fries and a homemade dipping sauce that took everything up a notch!

Norman S.

Yelp
Their oyster po boy was excellent. I've never had a po boy with such giant oysters. And the hand cut fries were what fries should be. Crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Great food for a reasonable price.

Kelly S.

Yelp
got the fish & chips and chicken & andouille jambalaya. fish & chips: two large lightly-battered super tender pieces of fish, cajun seasoning. jambalaya: generous portion with lots of protein, a bit too salty for our taste.

SY C.

Yelp
I was pretty disappointed in this place considering the excellent reviews - the food was rather lackluster and service was slow. The restaurant is quite tiny which is cute and has a few outdoor tables. We went late in the evening, about half an hour before closing time and they seated us at the counter right away. Considering how small the restaurant is, I was surprised they had a bar! Service was friendly but slow so don't come here if you're in a hurry. Hibiscus margarita: I could taste neither the hibiscus nor the tequila. The juice (?) tasted like it came from a bottle and it wasn't very strong. Chicken combo plate: the chicken was very juicy and crispy and was the best part of the plate! The popcorn on top surprised me, I've never had fried chicken with popcorn before - too bad the popcorn was on the stale side. The collard greens were ok and without much of the bacon/ham flavor I was hoping for. The mashed potatoes and gravy were fine, but not great. French fries: the most confusing thing we received since we were hoping for fries rather than wedges-like potatoes. I appreciate that they served fresh cut potatoes but they were not enhanced by the herbs on top, nor by the (presumably) Cajun dipping sauce served alongside. Despite my misgivings about the food, the restaurant was packed all the way past closing time so I must have ordered the wrong things. I'm not sure I'll be back to see if I'm wrong though.

Bart I.

Yelp
Nothing special greasy spoon! Everything is fried no thanks heart attack waiting. Cool looking interior.

Sharon B.

Yelp
PoBoys is a great spot in Portrero Hill to get bottomless brunch! It's $20 per person and the food is great too so it was a fun brunch experience. The food did take a while to come out during a relatively empty restaurant, but I enjoyed everything we ordered. Would love to come back here, the menu had a lot of options that looked delicious.

Alfonso H.

Yelp
The jambalaya and the seafood pasta was phenomenal the garlic bread, great service, great atmosphere

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a lovely little spot on Potrero hill! Whether you are walking by for a little beignet snack or want a filling and warming gumbo- you won't find yourself waiting long for some authentic home made Cajun food.

Merl S.

Yelp
My best friend told me about this restaurant. She was there with a friend. Ii told we have to try it. So we did. It didn't disappoint l. Everything from the fried okra that I ordered as appetizer to the jambalaya was delicious. The restaurant itself was small, but they had outside seating which was great I would highly recommend eating here if you want a taste of NOLA, without going there. One of there specials was alligator jambalaya. Someone by our table ordered it. It must've been delicious because he finished it all.

Michael C.

Yelp
Most authentic shrimp and grits, jambalaya, seafood, chicken, fried chicken and anything else you could think of from the south.....five star plus the owner is wonderful along with his wife and daughter who worked in the business....highly recommend this for casual southern food experience. Best shrimp and grits that I have ever had even better than in New Orleans or the Carolinas

Allen R.

Yelp
Nice cozy restaurant, plenty of public parking. Service was great, nice host and food came out in a timely manner. But the food was ok at most, I was looking for gumbo and this place popped up on my search so why not give them a try. We ordered a small gumbo, not much flavor and was really runny as if they didn't make a roux. Got the fried chicken plate which the waiter mentioned it would be a 20min wait which is ok with me because that meant I would get some hot freshly fried chicken. Not the case, it wasn't as hot and crispy as I expected, flavor was ok. Another dish we ordered was the calamari and I gotta say what we got didn't match the picture on their menu. The picture looked fresh and ours was the frozen kind you get from a box you get at your local grocery store freezer. Everything else we ordered was ok nothing great. Would we come back... maybe just to give the other items a try!

Chee S.

Yelp
If you don't stop by and see "Mr Martine, and His warm welcoming personality, It's like you're at home!!!, So GO ASAP!! He has the Most Amazing, Delicious & Largest "OYSTER" PO'BOY, I have ever seen, took me 2 days to eat it with my Fiance'! You must try the Cajun Fried OKRA. His FOOD IS TO "LIVE FOR"

Yelp
I had just finished a long day of work and was looking for a place to eat. The fish and chips were spectacular! The tartar sauce was on point and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Michael W.

Yelp
I will update this review on a second order, but I love gumbo. PoBoys gumbo was OK. Not very thick, but very soupy and thin while being dark and flavorful. I didn't get the sense that there was a lot of chicken or andouille in the gumbo, but a good amount of veg. Honestly, I got more liquid than solids in the large to-go order. Tasted fine. The collards were really, really good and I don't think they had any pork in them and if so, it wasn't missed. The mini cornbread was a notable miss. They had too much leavening and were bitter. Looking forward to a second outing at some point.

Jenny X.

Yelp
Cool hole in the wall place in the middle of Portero Hill super close to my place! Good: - Super nice staff - Unique ambiance - very NOLA - and I've been to NOLA so this is authentic stuff - The jambalaya was amazing, and the chicken combo I can say the same - the flavors were off the charts and the portion sizes were hugeee. Bad: - It was a bit cold to be outside and the heaters weren't working - Food is a bit slow to come out Overall it was a solid experience and I'd go again!

Christopher R.

Yelp
My wife and I ate brunch at the po boys kitchen. My wife ordered the smoked salmon po boy omelette with tater totes with a mimosa. She loved the the omelette and the smoked salmon was smoked perfectly. She enjoyed the omelette with the tater tots. The tots had a wonderful dipping sauce and the tots were seasoned very well. The mimosa was very flavorful and fresh. She loved the flavor of the mimosa. I ordered the breakfast plate with andouille sausage with a biscuit. The sausage was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit was very soft and good. Customer service was great and even brought us a fresh set of tater tots. Ambiance brought you back to a little restaurant in New Orleans and the music put you in that place and mood.

Darryl M.

Yelp
This was a recommendation from a friend and thank him profusely Small but mighty I met the owner/chef but the food was so good and he managed the wait line very well cause we got there before the rush . I loved my fried chicken and my husband loved his dish which I will get the next time I'm excited to try the wings next too cause I'm a wing connoisseur! Thanks for a great night out to dinner

Dane O.

Yelp
Unthoughtful and I hope the owners read this in all honesty so they can make some drastic changes to a proper poboy/beignets. I got the shrimp poboy: -French bread is an option but they're using what feels more like a dense french baguette. It's a harder shell, too much bread, and it isn't pliable like a proper french roll. You can already tell by the brown color of the bread what that bite is gonna feel like. - Shrimp looks to be wet battered, the kind you find on a fish and chips at the pier. It should have some ratio of cornmeal. So when I took a bite, the wet pickles and tomato had soaked in so fast and made it soggy. Shrimp isn't gulf. Beignets: - Hollow, thick, dense, doughy. The exterior is a hard shell that is exactly like a hard sourdough and the taste is so over yeasted it borderlines just tastes like sourdough squares in powdered sugar. Right direction but wrong execution. I feel like the blueprint is there and easy to follow but they're deliberately trying to put a twist that isn't working.

Cathy L.

Yelp
PoBoys kitchen is a southern soul food restaurant located in Potrero Hill. We first discovered this restaurant while trying to eat at a nearby restaurant. The inside of restaurant is quite small and packed, but we were able to be seated outside on the sidewalk. For food, I ordered the chicken combo plate which came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potato's, and veggies. The fried chicken was salted super well and very juicy. The portion is so large that I took part of the food home for my next meal . My friends ordered the poboy sandwich, the jambalaya, and the gumbo. They all really liked their dishes as well.

Yelp
We were hungry and needed to pick a place for lunch. My friend suggested PoBoys because she wanted some salty foods. We sat inside the restaurant since it was a bit chilly outside. We decided to order 4 items to share between 3 people. -Large gumbo (4/5) - I felt like there was more soup than other items inside the gumbo. It looks different than the photo on th menu. I also prefer fried okras instead of soggy okras in soup haha. -Jambalaya w/ seafood & andouille (5/5) - This was my favorite dish out of the 4 items. It just reminds me of paella. -PoBoys Sandwich w/ shrimp (4.5/5) - I love the fact that they use Dutch crunch bread! The sandwich did taste a bit dry though. -Fries (5/5) - You can taste how fresh the fries were. I didn't like how much I could taste the pickles in the PoBoy sauce. I wish they used less. Overall, the food was great! We were super full and content with our meals. I'll have to come back here and try their other items!

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant you would love to have in your own neighborhood! I had shrimp and grits which was just out of this world!! My partner liked his chicken jambalaya. We plan to go back soon.

Yelp
Small Southern style eatery that uses solid cooking techniques, fresh ingredients and offers good portions. The menu is small but has enough variety to cover a variety of appetite's. Great job gentlemen please keep up the good work

Yelp
Cute lil spot in Potrero with unique and flavorful food Ambiance: colorful, floral table tops and fun art inside, and outside the chairs are colorful under a fun, striped awning Seating: six bar top seats; four tables that sit 2-4 inside and some tables outside that total seat 12 or so Food: food is southern creole; think shrimp and grits, po'boy, beignets and such. Excellent sides like fried okra and collard greens Drink: the Bloody Mary is on point Service: sweet waiters, attentive but not too much

Yelp
Came for lunch on a rainy Monday. The gumbo quickly warmed me up and was my favorite item. We also had ribs and fried chicken. Everything was delicious and cooked well. Crispy fried chicken and tender ribs. The mashed potato with gravy was great and all went well with our root beers. Service was friendly and attentive. Space is small and quaint. 5 or so tables and bar seating will lay outdoor seating when it's not raining

Yelp
I have driven by this place for years and finally got the chance to try it out. While hiking over I see a guy getting ready to ride his bike. I asked him if he lives in the neighborhood and which place is better. This or the place across the street. He said, "neither", but the one further down is excellent if it's still open. Unfortunately, it was not, so I try this place out. BIG mistake!!! I ordered the PoBoy fish sandwich. Bread was very difficult to chew. It was a Dutch crunch roll, but I don't recall ever having problems biting into bread before? I left the bottom piece behind. Fries weren't made fresh because they were very cold. Neighbors know. Don't ignore them!

Yelp
We had lunch there 2 days ago: I had a salad ("Caesar") which was tasteless and slimy at best. My son had ribs with tasteless beans and covered in a sauce which seemed out of a bottle. Never going back.

Yelp
Excellent service and even better food. The neighborhood is lucky to have excellent NOLA food, and it is not to be skipped. The chicken is perfectly spiced and crispy. The gumbo has depth of flavor. The Okra is simply amazing. The Shrimp and Grits are delicious. I can't wait to go back to PoBoys Kitchen!

Yelp
I've been here twice and have had a good experience both times. Shrimp PoBoy delicious but felt like it was skimpy on the shrimp. Fried Chicken plate was excellent. Staff is nice, easy to get a seat. Casual place, but cool city vibes. Much better than Front Porch chicken.

Yelp
went with a friend after work, drinks were good, service was good, food was good. but the sum of the parts seem greater as a whole. maybe it was the company who knows.
