My friend and I made reservations for a late Brunch at 1:30p on Saturday, 12/7/24 at Podmore.
We were greeted and promptly seated at a cozy table at the rear of the restaurant overlooking the bay windows where we could see the street. The ambiance was warm with the sparkling Christmas lights aglow throughout the restaurant.
The waitstaff looked smart in their uniforms as they served us. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the menu and her favorites as well.
We ordered our drinks first. I ordered the Sherpa Chai Iced Latte composed of Nepali black tea, Peruvian ginger, spices, sugar with my choice of Oat milk. I enjoyed the flavors with the cinnamon spices and cardamom bursting through. It wasn't too sweet which was perfect. My friend ordered it also, later in the meal. My friend also ordered a refreshing cocktail called St. George and the Dragon. It was composed of
St. George Vodka, Dragonfruit syrup, Kalani coconut, Cappelletti aperitivo, and lime. It was a lovely pink hue. This drink is similar to a Cosmopolitan.
Then it was time to order our meals. Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't have my first choice on hand that I wanted to order. I wanted to experience the Full English Breakfast. The Full English breakfast came with
fried eggs, bacon, black pudding,
Podmore sausage, potatoes, tomato, mushroom, baked beans, and fried bread. I've been to London, and wanted to taste it again. Fortunately, they had my second choice that I ordered which was the Tagliatelle Carbonara a house-made pasta, egg, parmesan, with Podmore bacon. I was satisfied with the rich and creaminess of the sauce and the firm and chewy texture of
the house-made pasta. The bacon was unctuous and tasty, as well. In the middle of my meal, my mind was still on the English Breakfast. My friend mentioned that I could get a side order of the Black Pudding, since she heard a neighboring table order it. Thus, I was happy to order a side order of Black pudding to sample, and eat along with my Tagliatelle Carbonara. The flavors were satisfying, and I was pleased that I got a part of the English Breakfast.
My friend ordered the "Christmas Breakfast" made up of
Potato rösti, spinach, house-smoked salmon, double yolk coddled egg, brown butter and hollandaise. She enjoyed how the egg yolk decadently flowed out of the egg as she cut it. She enjoyed the salmon but said her Potato rösti was a bit salty. Overall, she enjoyed the dish, she said.
My friend also ordered the Rock Cakes (4 pieces) of miniature scones. It was tasty. Since we ordered it with our meal and it came at the end of our meal, our friendly waitress let us have it as a complimentary dish. My friend also wanted to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert since she read good reviews on it. Unfortunately, they no longer make that, and it is no longer on the menu.
Comprehensively, we had a wonderful experience eating here at Podmore. This restaurant was busy and everyone was enjoying themselves. The ambiance made you feel that you were actually in London or New York as the restaurant owner emphasized in his Instagram interview. The food and service were sublime. Thank you also to the wonderful waitress who took a photo of us by the Christmas tree.
Parking: We parked at the Post Office which is near Podmore, and had to feed the meter 2x since the maximum time is 1hr. at the parking at the Post Office. We didn't want to rush ourselves and enjoyed our leisurely Brunch at Podmore.
