The Best Picnic Spots In LA

"Pick-Up Food Options: Chori Man, Colossus Bread, Busy Bee San Pedro is an ideal LA day trip because you feel like you’re getting out of the city without technically leaving it. And while you’re there, a picnic at Point Fermin Park is a must. This historic park is home to a 19th-century wooden lighthouse, Fort MacArthur, and the iconic Korean Bell Of Friendship, a gift of goodwill from South Korea in 1976. There are also grassy bluffs overlooking the ocean that are screaming to be picnicked on. We recommend picking up an excellent, chorizo breakfast burrito from Chori Man, as well as fresh-baked bread from Colossus beforehand. " - brant cox, arden shore

Could use a tad bit of cleaning. Dropped my glasses and went back for them, snatched up instantly by a stranger. Great views, paved sidewalk. Pelicans, seagulls & Falcons in the air.

Google
What an awesome place to watch the sunset! Just up the hill is the Korean bell gift monument. Really nice ice cream truck also. And the most gorgeous location for a basketball court ever. Enjoy a nice walk and take in the view! 🌅

Google
Fav park to go to when I'm in San Pedro. Clean, and plenty of beautiful view spot to have a picnic. (Remember to bring cover for the tables, they're bit dirty sometimes.) We do several laps walking and towards the end you'll see the squirrels come out. Please don't feed them. Also, you might get lucky to see dolphin or seals swimming, and pelicans flying.

Jan Me

Google
Ended up in this area after visiting the Korean friendship bell. Such a peaceful park with amazing views of the west coast line. The park is at the top of the cliff. Free parking along the road and by the light house. There's a lot of cute chipmunks that live along the cliff.

Google
Our church did a father son hike in this general area and this park was our base and it was very wide open in terms of space for all of our group to have enough room to play games mingle cook our food and fellowship with one another I did not know this place existed so I’m grateful That someone from the church made this recommendation definitely will come back.

Google
Been going to this place for years to decompress, to think, to take in all the beauty....and also to have my girls run around when they were small. They are adults now and they still go on their own. My youngest is a teenager and she loves this place as well.

Ricardo “Rick”

Google
Stopped by here on our last visit to the area, nice park with lots of mature trees, they were having a music festival the day we went so the park was packed. Enjoyed our walk through the park and music.

Google
Nice little park with views of the ocean. Just below the Korean friendship bell. Arrive early to set up for parties.

Yelp
Gorgeous day to be here! Huge park, plenty of picnic tables and incredible views! Plenty of parking, but I was here on a Monday, so am sure you'd want to arrive early on a weekend. Beautiful huge shady trees. Beautiful green lawn.

Yelp
So. Many. Squirrels. And lizards on the two ways down to the ocean from Point Fermin. Both which lead to a very steep, narrow number of stairs so climb carefully! At the bottom you'll find endless beautiful waves crashing but this isn't the place to bring your blankets and sunbathe because it's super rocky and the tide is high. Nevertheless I'll go here again and again because it's just that perfect!
google avatar

Micah W.

Yelp
The park is really nice and all but since when did it become a no drone zone? This is getting ridiculous
google avatar

Yelp
glad to spend some time with my honey! and rake a few photos for the wedding invitations. OMG THERE ARE ALOT OF CHIPMUNKS SO KEEP THE TRAIL-MIX AWAY AT ALL TIMES! LOL you give some to one chipmunk and in a few seconds you have an army of chipmunks following you

Yelp
Point Fermin Park is one of those unique spaces on the Southern California landscape. It is this nice park, at the end of the road, that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Whereas many parks are set up with basketball courts, football fields, and other sports related activity areas, this is not the case with Point Fermin. Mostly, this is just a very scenic park where people walk, have picnics, and do things like that. Yes, they do have a small, yet very unique amphitheater, where once upon a time I imagine they gave concerts and put on plays. I have not seen anything like that going on in recent years, however. But, the amphitheater is still there and it is a unique historic structure. This park is also home to a large house, constructed a long-long time ago, where you can get tours. If you're into doing stuff like that, this gives you a peek into the way life used to be in Southern California. For you adventurers who want to investigate truly unique Southern California locations, this is also the park where are you climb over the fence and walk down to Slab City. Technically, you're not supposed to do that, but that doesn't seem to stop the many graffiti artists and others who want to walk down among those formations. Overall, if you want to take a nice walk along the California coast, from an elevated location, and see the wonders of the California landscape, this is a great place to do just that. There's plenty of parking along the outer ridge of the park, and the parking is free. Also, if you look Eastward and upward you can see the Korean Bell. Overall, nice park. A great place to take a moment and relax.

Yelp
Went to go watch a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night here at their amphitheatre. Such a great production and great park. The atmosphere was really nice. It gets super cold at night. Definitely bring a blanket/sweater. Parking is limited. So get there early. Picnic, play, or just hanging out it's a cool place to go and experience for yourself.

Yelp
This is a park area in San Pedro by the ocean. There are sidewalks, benches, a children's play area, ground squirrels, lighthouse, and a historic display. It is very scenic to walk and see the ocean waves below. It was a sunny day with a nice breeze. So perfect!
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
This beautiful dog-friendly park has an amazing view of the ocean. The architecture is stunning; and the lighthouse has a lot of charm and character. I love seeing the chipmunks scurry all around the park. I took off star off due to the condition of the park. It has unfortunately been vandalized by hoodlums. Trash and litter are all over the grounds and graffiti covers many of the signs and walls. It is somewhat disheartening that this amazing park (in a spectacular location) has been spoiled by people in the community. Parking is free and the parking lot is large and easy to navigate. You could easily spend an hour or so here. There are shaded picnic tables throughout the park - it would be perfect to enjoy a small meal here to take in the view.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
The park consists of tree-shaded lawns, sheltered pergolas, colorful gardens, and a promenade along the edge of the palisade. This scenic park is the southernmost point of LA, which provides spectacular views of the coast, and is a perfect site for picnics and a leisurely stroll. It has ample street parking along the driveway. It could get very windy and chill during the day in the winter time, so make sure to wear warm clothes.
google avatar

Rosie H.

Yelp
Nice park. Beautiful bluff views. Lots of shade. Plenty of picnic benches, and a playground for the kiddos.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
On the edge of San Pedro. Plenty of picnic tables overlooking the ocean. A cute lighthouse and community center in the park. It is a little run down with some graffiti. Such a shame for a pretty spot. Nearby is Friendship Park.
google avatar

Yelp
Really an amazingly beautiful place, but the cliffs can be scary, and the part is extremely old as far as the equipment is concerned. This is a wonderful place to take pictures.

Yelp
My bestie is the queen bee of her "core" group. Not much todo on a Sunday but to literally hang around. So when you see people hanging from tree's do not be alarm they are masters at it. Otherwise great location to bring lunch with vino and your loved ones. It has a wrap-around-view and it's breath taking. Bring the dogs bring everyone. The big secret of this park it has a secret path to enter Sunken City. Kids and I even seen dogs walk in the secret path with no problem. Otherwise the park is an oasis of wonders to relax and enjoy. I absolutely love this park for so many reasons. So bring lunch of yummi food and enjoy the view. Clean traditionally restrooms weekends parking gets full (but easy neighborhood parking) Wild with tattoos are welcome People wearing little crosses are also welcome Do not forget to bring the blankets to lay around. The perfect spot if you are a hopeless romantic.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautiful park with beautiful views! The Point Fermin lighthouse is located here. If you walk all the way to the cliff, there are gorgeous views of the coastline. There are lots of benches to sit at and enjoy the scenery. I hope to come back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I visit my favorite sandwich spot (Busy Bee Market) I come here to enjoy my delicious meal. Its truly an ideal spot to enjoy a meal. With beautiful nature all around you, you'll be sure to be refreshed by the scenery available. As I said before I usually go here to eat my sandwiches in one of their many park benches located throughout the property. The park is located in a cliff that overseas the ocean, on a beauty day it's truly breathtaking. Or if you're lazy like me, you'll sit down and eat your food while taking in the view. The park also has other positive attributes but what else do you need to know besides come check it out. Parking is fairly available and free in the immediate vicinity. There's even a cool biker bar nearby (never been there but it looks cool). It's a great park to enjoy yourself, so make sure to check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
A large park well-suited for picnics, walks, and enjoying the coastal views. Point Fermin Park has many picnic tables scattered throughout its grassy venue that are shaded by huge, sturdy trees. The day I visited, there was a biking event going on. They used the park as a rest stop to grab water and snacks. Seems like a popular spot for families and folks walking their furry friends!
google avatar

Yelp
Morning, noon, or evening is a great time to visit, clean restrooms, children play area and gorgeous sunset's.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Very nice park. Look to the west and you see the shipping approach lanes for the busy ports of Los Angeles in Long Beach.
google avatar

Araceli D.

Yelp
Beautiful, peaceful, historical park. Beautiful view of the ocean. Birdwatching is easy as flocks of pelican and various species can be seen. Friendly staff. Restrooms. Plenty of room for my dog to run, chase birds, and bark. Safe for families. Be aware of scammers (Lovely Lotus Tarot) targeting children soliciting tarot card reading and selling evil eye bracelets. Report suspicious activity to LAPD. Keep our park and visitors safe.
google avatar

Glen N.

Yelp
Great park overlooking the bluffs, the furthest point south in Los Angeles with 37 acres of tree-lined lawns, picnic areas, play areas, and a small amphitheater, perfect for annual events like San Pedro car show (see my review) and Shakespeare by the Sea, which for the locals they change to "Dos Gentlemen of Verona", "King Juan", "Much Ado About Nada", and "Julio Caesar." The park and neighboring Walker's Cafe are used for TV and movie, most notably for "Chinatown", "Gods and Monsters", "500 Days of Summer", and "Inherent Vice." Oh yeah, and "Freaks". Not the movie, just in general. I went there late with a date one night in 2009. Saw a fox and a raccoon. It was like a Disney movie, if not for the impending danger of hoodlums.
google avatar

Joan S.

Yelp
Updating my review from 14 years ago, I can add a few things of interest: I've heard of gigantic raccoons in the park at night, and now there's a sign warning of coyotes. There's now kiddie play equipment. Today I saw a car leave the (free) parking lot & accidentally drive right down one of the paths in the park (heavy fog). Yikes. The trees in this park are spectacular. So are the views, but not today in the fog. The fog was so thick that the ground was as wet as if it had rained. It was beautiful.
google avatar

Isabelle W.

Yelp
Awesome place to spend time with the family, saw lots of people with camping chairs having picnics with their families so definitely something to consider, lots of natural shade from palm trees, and quite the walk from one end to the other end with amazing views.
google avatar

Pete B.

Yelp
Lots of shade because of the huge trees. Parking was a little tricky on Saturday. A few sketchy folks hanging around the parked cars.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
Nice place to walk, write, think, cry, laugh, blow bubbles, fly a kite, have a snack or outing, or just chill.
google avatar

Apple W.

Yelp
Always love this part we've been coming here for over 20 years there have been movies filmed and here celebrations just awesome view of the ocean nice kids area always an ice cream truck or a guy selling cotton candy and toys to play with come early it's crowded so much shade you can follow sleep on the grass. Huge trees for the kids to climb a lot of low riders and bikers yet friendly. The bathrooms are old like a campground has flushing toilets. cold water only not a good place to change a baby's diaper no locks on the bathroom doors. There are picnic benches and benches next to the walking path good for spending the day with the kids, picnic lunch, wedding pictures, proposals bring Date good place to watch the sunset I don't know if dogs are allowed but there's a dog park across the street. all around the park
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely one of the most beautiful places to come and find peace and relaxation as well as a few historical sites. Plenty of places to park, go for a stroll, trek down the bluffs to some rocky shores or hike a little up to the Korean friendship Bell and pogoda, keep an eye out for some slightly hidden WW2 bunkers, a beautifully restored lighthouse, and gorgeous coastlines.
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
Love this park actually one of my favorite spots when I can go there I love the breeze, especially in the summer. feels like I am at the beach and a island at the same time.. everyone pretty much just looks happy and relaxed.
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
If you're in San Pedro and visit the Korean Friendship Bell, include one more stop on your itinerary- Point Fermin Park. It's just half a minute drive down on Gaffey toward the ocean. Free parking. It's a nice, unique, peaceful place. Nice big park by the ocean, home of the Point Fermin Lighthouse (you can visit it, they offer tours starting at 1 p.m. especially on the weekend). Spectacular views from up there. Also, this is the home of the Shakespeare by the Sea, they have a cute permanent stage. This picturesque place was a great break in the action for us. It was nice to stroll around and take the views in. I'm sure this place it's great during the summer.
google avatar

Richie D.

Yelp
Very beautiful old nostalgic Park. Great for lots of activities and The view of the ocean from it is gorgeous.
google avatar

William G.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for a nice afternoon walk. I've been to this park before. It is my escape from the daily grind, as it has a relaxing vibe and a great view overlooking the ocean. Parking is not an issue here, as my friend an I found parking under the shade. The restrooms were not too far from the parking area, but the men's restroom is not too well kept. There are ample grassy areas to lie down and read a book or enjoy the breeze. A playground, stage, and barbecue pits are scattered throughout the park. No one really notices much who goes in the sunken city, or if they take the steep hiking path on the other side of the concrete barrier. Just watch where you step. I sometimes came here at night, and it is far more desolate. Perfect for a late night stroll with a date. Just watch out for the stray cats, skunks, and raccoons.

Yelp
Point Fermin Park is located at the very southern edge of the city of San Pedro. There, the park sits on top of cliffs with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and on a clear day, you can see Catalina Island as well. Many people come to this park to walk and or run around it. The sidewalk goes around the park and then continues on Paseo Del Mar leading into the neighborhood. This park also has a stage and in the summer, they have plays as well as other events. The playground is decent for the kids, based on the size of the park, I wish their playground was a little larger, but It'll do. There are little benches that stick out into the cliff to give you a more private, intimate look into the ocean. I must add to beware of the stray cats in the area as well. There are quite a bit, lol. Another great thing about this park is the little house in the back of the park along with the lighthouse. It is a phenomenal place to visit. Sometimes I like going there just to clear my head and enjoy the serenity that the park and ocean can bring.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to come catch a beautiful California sunset! My friends are locals of the LA area and took us on a day trip down to San Pedro and this is one of their favorite spots. It's a nice park with seating areas, picnic tables, areas to walk, restrooms and a playground for the kids to play. We got some memorable, gorgeous photos here that I will always treasure.
google avatar

Robert P.

Yelp
Just a short walk from the lovely Korean Bell is Point Fermin Park, a place that is much better than its funny name. Here you can walk along a majestic cliff overlooking the ocean, enjoy a quaint lighthouse, and see Shakespeare in the summertime. Shakespeare by the Sea, the company that brings Shakespeare to this and many other parks, bills itself as a theatrical troupe established to create theatrical experiences for under-served, culturally diverse audiences. I guess that means they bring free performances to the public parks. http://www.shakespearebythesea.org/wp/ We plan to attend the very next performance, and will also help the company meet their funding goal. Today they are less than halfway to that goal.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Picturesque location that I've been visiting for years and years. Used to surf down the cliffs at Mossy and play football with the gang, (and lots of beers), as a kid. I've been here for many, many summer festivals, (both music and food), and probably even more "walks along the coast" with the wife and dogs. Plenty of children's apparatus' for the little ones and because it is on the coast, the weather is typically "divine" to say the least. But be forewarned, it can get windy and is often times overcast so always (even in the summer) bring a sweater for the little ones...

Yelp
Beautiful but deadly. The view at this park is amazing. What a wonderful creation the ocean is, thankyou God. A very beautiful sunset. A month ago on 8/19/2016 a tragedy happened at this park when a young girl slipped off the edge while taking a picture of this wonderful view. I would like to warn young people to resist the urge to climb over the 3 foot protective wall, and get closer to the edge. There are deadly accidental falls at this park every year. To God be the Glory!!!
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
One of my favorite parks of all time. It's small, but perfect. Next to the ocean. Beautiful view. Many benches on the grass area, and in the edge of the park. Outdoor theater. Restrooms. Playground. Lighthouse. FPAC (Festival of Philippine Art and Culture) was here a couple of times. Music video of "Please Don't Go" by Mike Posner's was filmed here. The way to get to Sunken City is here... I could go on and on. The main reason I go here lately is to be by myself and think/meditate. Sometimes I bring a book to read. I really love this park.
google avatar

Charley C.

Yelp
Well I really like little parks, and this is at least a medium to a medium plus Park in size anyway. It is directly on the ocean and on the cliff above the ocean and has a lighthouse in the park. The grass is well maintained, the walkways are wide, the view is excellent, bring some Pals and chitty chat and enjoy the walk, we did

Yelp
To me Point Fermin Park means the Point Fermin Lighthouse, built in 1874. Point Fermin Lighthouse is designed in the Stick Style popular at the time and used for several other contemporary lighthouses. (Long before Mission Revival came into being.) With all the Victorian gingerbread it is a very attractive structure indeed. The lighthouse was in operation until 1942. It was tended by lighthouse keepers who lived with their families in the lower section of the lighthouse. During World War II, radar gear replaced the light and the building became one of the first radar stations. After the war, the lighthouse was used by the parks department for maintenance of Point Fermin Park. Point Fermin Lighthouse was restored to its original appearance in 2001 and opened to tours in 2003. Today, visitors can tour the interior of the lighthouse with a docent. There are displays on the Port of Los Angeles and the lighthouse. The Keeper's quarters, including a bedroom and kitchen, are furnished as they would have been in the early 20th century. You can climb up into the light tower on a very narrow and curving staircase. The support for the revolving lens goes right down into the house! The Keeper really lived with his job! Very interesting!

Yelp
It's best to visit the San Pedro area and hit up all the unique places that make up San Pedro all at once. From the Korean Bell of Friendship, to the Point Fermin Lighthouse, to the Sunken City to this Park that is the opening gateway to the Sunken City. It's a nice park with very spacious grassy areas for sports games or just to sit around and have a picnic. The edges up against the cliff of the park are filled with cement benches and shaded overhead which provides a nice spot for gatherings and parties with a great Ocean view and nice breeze blowing. The unique thing about this park is the old house that stands in the middle near the benches. Looking like it was just picked up and dropped perfectly and neatly in the park, it's reminiscent of how old traditional homes would look in the 70s - and in near perfect condition. A nice way to spend a weekend with friends and family to explore the area.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
This park is awesome. It's at the very bottom of San Pedro, off of Gaffey and Paseo Del Mar. Parking is quite limited, as there are also a few little houses that share the street that the lot is on. The park itself is not huge, but it has plenty of space and shade for picnic lunches or birthday celebrations. I mean, they host a car show there every now and again, which definitely draws a big crowd. The park also has a Shakespeare in the Park theater that puts on plays too, though I'm not sure about the frequency. The facilities could be a little cleaner, but I come here to sneak off to the hidden trails that you can find behind the fence at the east end of the park, by the houses. Technically, you're not supposed to but, like Simba said to Nala in The Lion King, "I laugh in the face of danger, hahaha!" I even went through one of the little trails in my sandals, though that was a crazy idea -- I survived and made it even more clear that I can do just about anything in my Rainbows(sandals). But honestly, it's a little steep and moderately rocky so use caution if you're going to be a rebel. The park has several shaded benches by the wall that over look the ocean and provide beautiful views, day or night. Watch the Sun shine and play on the waves, or fall into a trance under the Moon's spell as she casts a luminous glow on the sea as it sleeps. It's a beautiful sight to behold. The park is host to several squirrels and a handful of feral cats that live on the other side of the wall, in the shrubbery. Crazy cat lady here, so yes I try to pet them (^_^). There is also a lighthouse at the park that you can visit during operating hours too. The park is clean, and very well maintained. PD comes by after hours to make sure no one is in the park after hours, so be super careful of that one if you're not trying to get busted. All in all, beautiful views, car shows, illegal hiking and sentimental memories that are cherished makes this spot on of my faves in Pedro. And if you finish at the park, there's always Angel's Gate Lookout and The Korean Bell of Friendship to the north of the park if you want more things to check out while you're down in the area \(^_^)/ both a great and there's a cultural center too. Lots to do in such a small area. It's pretty awesome. Obviously I recommend checking Point Fermin out! Even if it's just for a picnic lunch.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
Paleteros, the lighthouse, the stage the beautiful fig trees are all worthy of 5 stars. This is a landmark, Classic San Pedro. Hike down to Sunken City on the East side of the park if you're feeling wild and adventurous. This is one of my all time favorite places to take photos, a photographers dream. It's also been in countless commercials. Just don't get to comfortable with the cliffs. Everything else is all love.
google avatar

Barbara M.

Yelp
Wonderful, whimsical park. This special park is a great place for a picnic, birthday party or celebration. All of this located next to the ocean. It doesn't get much better than this.
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
Nice park with large trees and gorgeous views. There is a small playground as well as a few historic buildings on sight including a light house.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Dog friendly! Nice walking path along the coastline. About half a mile worth of walking. Went on a Monday morning, quite a few cars in the lot but was still able to find a spot. Additional parking can be found at the Korean Friendship Bell (although you would have to hike down) or at the John Milke Flores Park (on Paseo Del Mar) To make it a worthwhile trip, I would park here, continue on to the same side of the street and walk down to Wilders Addition Park and then head back and up to the Korean Friendship Bell.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Came here with John A to show him some sights of Los Angeles one cloudy day. I honestly wouldn't have had the courage to drive to here if not for Rob A's expert directions to take Pacific Avenue instead of Gaffey. I drive stick shift and I have yet to conquer my inability to drive thru steep hills and they have quite a few in this area. It's a small park overlooking the ocean but the view is fantastic. There's an old white house smack dab in the middle of the park. I think its a museum but I wish I had a house with the same view as that. Nothing much to do there really unless if you just want to walk around the park to get some light cardio in, or sit and enjoy the view which was what we did. Loved the view.
google avatar

Lena F.

Yelp
At the very end of Gaffey St. in the Pedro you will run into Point Fermin Park. It's a nice place to have a picnic, take the kids and watch the ocean...on a nice clear day. The views are beautiful and on a clear day you can even see Catalina Island. The restrooms are OK could be cleaner but what do you expect at a park, they have toilet paper so that's a definite plus! Word of caution the people come from surrounding areas unfamiliar with the park in search of Sunken City. Too many times people climb over the concrete wall to scale down the cliff some make it some don't. There are plenty of signs warning against trespassing but those hard headed enough do not heed the warnings. Several months ago a family decided to go down and it didn't go so well for their young child who had to be airlifted after falling onto the jagged rocks below. http://www.dailybreeze.com/general-news/20130720/girl-10-suffers-significant-head-injury-in-fall-at-point-fermin-park So as beautiful as this park is, it has its hidden dangers. Enjoy it from atop and take in the views.
google avatar

Vicky M.

Yelp
Beautiful, relaxing and clean park. Pros: it's a beautiful scenic park. Also very green. Cons: it's very windy. Sometimes there's concerts, community events or misc events so it can get very loud and packed. Parking can also be a hustle if there's an even let going on.

Yelp
I've been to Point Fermin park more than a few times so this review is long overdue. The park is situated right on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean; RPV to the north and Long Beach to the south. Trees along with the lighthouse along with picnic tables, benches, playgrounds and a walking/jogging path make this a park for just about everyone and almost anything. There's lots of parking unless there's an event or it's a holiday weekend (or both) but I've never had any problems finding a place to park - even if it included walking a little. Lots of green and it's clean, well with the exception of the restrooms but you can't expect much when it's a heavily used public facility. Anyway - the place is well kept and it's a great place for family gatherings, or to bring your significant other or even just for some solitude. Just know that when the sun goes down and the wind picks up - it gets a little chilly.

Yelp
Nice park with lots of grassy area and benches to sit and chill. They also have a playground for those with children. They have so much space here, they sometimes have events going on during the weekends. I love the views of the water and the peaceful surroundings. Really calms me down just taking a walk around the park.

Yelp
Picturesque views in a not-so-nice area. Most of the neighborhood around here looks pretty shady, but the park area itself looked safe, at least during the daytime. There are a lot of photo opportunities here. You can also see the Korean friendship bell from the park. It's probably better to come in the afternoon, when the sun is hitting the lighthouse more directly. There's a path that goes down to the beach on the north side of the park. The path area is also where'd you'd get a better vantage point of the lighthouse. There's not a lot of lighthouses in California and this one is isn't particularly impressive, it's small, but the setting is pretty. It's worthwhile to stop here if you already in this area.
