You can order by the half-pound or full pound instead of a small, rice-heavy bowl! I got 1 lb of ahi tuna for $19 and 1 lb of salmon for $23, which felt like a much better deal than most poke spots charging $15+ for a bowl with just a few bites of fish. If you actually want a solid portion of poke, this is a great option.
What I liked:
The salmon was very fresh - I ordered The OG salmon poke, and it was flavorful and well-marinated. The fish had a nice, smooth texture and absorbed the soy sauce and sesame oil well. No weird aftertaste or fishiness--just fresh, clean flavors.
Portions are generous - A full pound of fish made for a very satisfying meal, which isn't always the case with poke. If you don't want rice or fillers, ordering by weight is the way to go.
What I didn't love:
Ahi tuna wasn't as fresh - It started off tasting fine, but as I kept eating, I noticed a slight fishy taste, especially in the middle portion. Not terrible, but not the best either. Next time, I'd skip the tuna and just get salmon if that cannot be improved.
Seasoning is strong and a bit oily for me. The marinade is on the heavier side, with a lot of soy sauce and sesame oil. It's flavorful, but personally, I prefer a lighter touch so the fish itself can stand out more. If you're used to milder poke, this might be a bit much.
I was just looking for a simple, no-frills poke spot, and this is a solid choice. The salmon was great, the value was good, and the flavors were bold.
Not sure about service since I chose delivery.
