"Poke bowl and sushi burrito spot Pokirrito, which was paired with its noodle shop relation Rakiraki Ramen + Tsukemen in Kearny Mesa and Little Italy, is set to close this weekend and will pivot into a Japanese vegan experience called The Yasai by RakiRaki." - Candice Woo

"Pokirrito's Convoy Street location now offers udon bowls built on hand cut noodles, with a variety of toppings including jumbo-sized Santa Barbara shrimp and panko-katsu cutlets made with Kurobuta pork. Chef/owner Junya Watanabe brings traditional Japanese techniques to the preparation of these dishes. Additionally, a new menu item, Tamago-sando, features a light and delicate omelet layered between warm sushi rice and wrapped in toasted nori, with various fillings and sauces." - Candice Woo

"The fast-casual eatery, known for its sushi burritos and poke bowls, is expanding its menu with dishes featuring Impossible Meat, the plant-based meat that looks, cooks, smells, and tastes like the real thing. Pokirrito is now serving the Impossible Sushi Burrito ($13.95) made with teriyaki-marinated Impossible Meat and offering the plant-based meat as an add-on to build-your-own burritos." - Candice Woo

Great new concept but the prices are high. Granted my poke bowl was delicious, it would have tasted better if I only paid around 10 bucks. For a large poke bowl I paid $13.99 (after tax) and didn't even order anything with an extra surcharge!!

As far as fusion dishes go this was pretty great! We got two options : the salmon and the original. The nori wasn't salty and while the sushi rice wasn't as good its not meant for a sushi roll, but for the burrito filling. The sauces lacked kick but were satisfactory. Overall I'd definitely come back for the gimmick and to bring friends to try

A few good places have opened specializing in poke bowls.. my favorite! This place has less options /toppings to choose from. The fish is marinated in something (see pic of bottom of bowl) I just don’t know what exactly and it makes this poke bowl very different from the others. I’m not sure I hate it but not sure I like the difference either. Leaning toward not liking it. Their bowl was also smaller than I’m used to but I’m sure it’s because they have less options for toppings. See picture. This place does give you nice big pieces of tuna and salmon. I got mine with no base (no need for it) 4 proteins, crab salad, avocado, & masago. I usually also have seaweed salad, edamame, fried garlic, sesame seeds but those options weren’t available (I always have sauce put on the side, never on top in case they drown it). I also ordered the fried chicken appetizer and it was spicy but not greasy, a little dry and I wasn’t impressed. I ordered through Uber Eats. Overall it was just ok.

This place is awesome. My husband and I got a poke bowl and a pokirrito. It's kind of expensive but I feel that their fish and ingredients are fresher so it's worth it. The customer service was good and they even offered to torch my scallops and shrimp which is a nice touch. Parking is AWFUL here. I wish I would have known that because I could have just ordered thru ubereats and saved the headache.

If wasn't for such difficult parking, I'd come here more often. Anyone that loves poke and sushi but wants a hearty meal, this is your place. Good simple menu, and bowls and burritos can be customized to your liking. I could do without the side of chips though, they are always either super salty or stale.

Presentation is very nice, but the vegan options are lacking. I appreciate that they're trying to cater to different dietary restrictions, but the staff is really uninformed and unwilling to answer questions about their food. Don't advertise vegan options and have uneducated staff. That just amounts to a frustrating experience. Otherwise, this is the first instance of impossible meat in San Diego that I've seen. It'll cost you $15. Honestly, that price is ridiculous. I understand the product is expensive, but I've been to LA where they're selling burgers for cheaper. There isn't ANY reason to have a $3 up charge over the price of fish, of all things. You basically sold 1/3 of a burger and dirt cheap filler for $15. That is an extremely poor value. On top of that, the one sauce I could eat was bland. Red miso "hot" sauce. A bottle of cholula or tapatio is tastier and spicier than that stuff. Overall, the quality of the ingredients is good, but the execution and price gouging is not.

Raw fish in a burrito seems a bit weird when you first think about it, but when you wrap a bunch of tasty poke into a burrito with seaweed instead of a tortilla - it is a winning combination. Think HUGE uncut sushi roll ... Highly recommend, will continue to go back.

Thought this was a cool new idea for sushi and it tasted great! Tried poke and sushi burrito and both were delicious and fresh.
