We really enjoyed the food here! We went around 10am on Sunday so the restaurant was fully booked but we got a seat at the bar. It was a lot of dirty plates and drinks stacked next to me being on the end and it seemed to be there area where staff congregated to talk which was a little distracting. But would definitely go again, the food was fantastic. I guess I would recommend a reservation if you plan to go during peak brunch times - there was not even an option for wait, just full besides the bar.

This was our first visit to Polite Society for brunch. We were celebrating a birthday. The service was attentive and polite as you may expect. Two people ordered the bottomless mimosas which didn't seem to taste like they had much orange juice. Two of us ordered the vegetable omelet. The portions are large. The potatoes were really good but the omelet lacked flavor...even with grilled vegetables inside. The cold brew coffee was definitely strong but the taste was "off". One person ordered the chicken and waffles which seemed to have the best flavor of any of our selections. I think the service was the best of anything considering we had a party of six. The atmosphere is pleasant. Overall we enjoyed the experience of trying something new.

This place was in an absolutely charming neighborhood across the street from a park. I was not greeted when I walked in but I knew I was meeting someone already there on the second floor. I made my way up to the adorable second floor, which was relatively full. Our waitress was not attentive and we could hardly hear her. She filled up my water and coffee once the entire time. I wasn’t overly impressed by the staff. The food was fabulous, I got the breakfast burrito and it did not disappoint. Also got the breakfast sandwich with the cheesy grits. I didn’t try these myself, but they had glowing reviews from my company. They have bottomless mimosa for 22.5 but only for an hour and half total, and judging how many times our waitress came to our table, it seems like that’d be a waste of money as you’d only get one refill lol. Overall I’d go back here solely for the food and atmosphere.

Google
Incredible food, patient and helpful service and a cozy atmosphere made for the perfect dinner experience! Bailey answered all of our questions and gave the best suggestions! The acorn squash appetizer had a lovely balance of flavors, and the shrimp & grits app was a large enough portion to enjoy for a main meal! The scallops were divine and had a beautiful combination of flavors (garlic heavy but not overwhelming!). The parsnip purée was such a great pairing with the sauce.

Google
A great spot for a girls dinner or a date night out, very welcoming but still intimate setting. The French onion soup is absolutely delicious. The mussels are a solid go-to everytime. Small wine list but offers a little something for everyone plus a variety of house cocktails.

Google
Fantastic. Drink selection is great, creative cocktails, decent selection of whiskeys and wines. The food was delicious, my party of 4 shared the Spetzal and Meatballs, I got the Osso Bucco(growing up in Northern NJ, I order this anytime I see it on the menu, I ate every last bit of my plate; fork tender, unctuous) and we ordered the cheesecake for dessert, the dessert liquers are very interesting. My pricing is based off of us ordering drinks and 3 courses. Can't wait to go back!

Delicious brunch. Both shrimp and grits and chorizo avocado were top notch, and the service was great. Love the decor as well. Never a disappointing experience.

Google
Wow!! Perfect date night! Upstairs dining was intimate and casual. Thank you Nick for the fabulous service with a great smile! We were impressed with your scotch details! Loved the sea scallops and John loved the Osso Bruscco pork and our friends had the sirloin! Appetizer lamb meatballs were wonderful. Delightful dinner with superb ambience! Convenient location and free street parking.

Yelp
The gem of Lafayette Square, with a historical ambiance! It's one of my favorite places to take my friends & family when they come visit from out of town & sometimes just to stop in to get a burger & drink at the bar. The food is exceptional, pro & con is that their menu is seasonal so you'll have to wait all year for your favorites to come back, like the honey cornbread (please bring it back). The drinks are hand crafted and unique. And the service has always been top tier! I can't rave about this place enough! Tips: -Depending on who the host is, your whole party has to be there to get sat. Doesn't matter if they're parking the car. And the entry area is pretty tight so just be prepared if you have stragglers. -The bar is the only place with a TV. -The bar is a great place for people watching & chatting with locals! -make a reservation! If you don't, you can dine at the bar, wait until a table becomes available or ask if a table is available with a time limit

Yelp
So I went back. Josh, the manager was working this 1/19:2025 and I stopped in. And guess what I had my French onion soup with goat cheese!!! The French onion soup is the BOMB!!!! It's bone sticking / warms the soul on a 29 degree winter day!!!! It's one of the reasons I love this place!!! So ask for Josh... if you need to make changes on the menu due to food allergies. I hope this last!!! This is a good place, and one of the longest standing restaurants in Layfatte Square.

Yelp
A hundred years ago, you could imagine the well-crafted façade to the Polite Society and the surrounding strip as part of a bustling main street in a very well-to-do part of St. Louis. These days, the street is much quieter, but the interior of the Polite Society surely harkens back to these more elevated times. My drink was a custom rendition of a French 75 that the bartender cheerily prepared while entertaining me with friendly banter about things to do in the surrounding area. Eventually, I moved on to food, where the Seared Scallops were an intense culinary delight. The scallops themselves were cooked to perfection, and the various accoutrements -- although simply prepared -- combined together to render complex sensory pleasure in every bite.

Yelp
Enjoyed brunch on a Saturday at 11 w reservations for a party of 4 (one vegan) First -- one of the most impressive bar selections I've ever seen. Several mezcal's i didn't recognize and overall what a great spot to just grab a really well made cocktail Then let's talk about the service -- my boy Bailey appears out of the blue with a smile & an energy that is friendly, welcoming, & attentive. I ordered an egg white omelette w a side of the salsa & some biscuits / gravy. Friend ordered chicken and waffles Wife (vegan) ordered a custom breakfast burrito. Great prices, phenomenal experience, and a huge shout out to Bailey for the great service.

Yelp
Over 7 years later, aaaaand they're STILL the whole package! Cocktails - fantastic! Food - DEEElicious! Service - perfect! And being in a back room makes it a little quieter and cozy. Love everything about this place and there are still things on the menu that I'd love to try. OH, almost forgot the desserts! DIVINE!!! Though I can't find them on a menu so that I can label my photos correctly....

Yelp
Polite Society was such a cute place to grab dinner and drinks with some friends! The food was all delicious and our waitress was so nice. The broccolini appetizer was 12/10 - definitely recommend. All serving sizes were decently large which i can always appreciate. Decent drink selection to choose from as well.

Yelp
I recently dined at Polite Society, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the Ossobuco Hash--both were cooked to perfection and packed with incredible flavors. The crispy chicken with the waffles was heavenly, and the rich, savory flavors in the Ossobuco Hash were unforgettable. We ended up sitting at the bar since we didn't have reservations, so I'd highly recommend booking a table if you plan to visit, as the place is clearly popular. Our bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. I'm already looking forward to coming back for dinner to explore more of their menu. Polite Society is a gem--don't miss it!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Polite Society! We had the pleasure of working with Josh to host our Rehearsal Dinner in the upstairs area. The process was seamless and the guests raved about the food for weeks after. We returned for my birthday dinner and Josh was our waiter. We were sat in a cozy corner next to a beautiful map on the wall. The vibe was very intimate. Once again, the food was amazing and Josh made our experience even better with his amazing service. The kitchen team is always very cautious with my food allergies and go above and beyond to make sure guests are well taken care of. Polite Society will forever be a special place for me and my husband to return to for many years to come.

Yelp
Wow this was some of the best food I've had in a long time. We had steak, salmon, burger, and pork (burger and pork not pictured here). We also got broccolini and corn bread to start. Broccolini was amazinggggg! Corn bread too. Wish it had a little more honey butter on it is all. I personally had the steak with Brussels sprouts and fries. It was incredible. But I have to say, after trying the other plates, the pork had to be the best. It's braised all day and was super tender and flavorful. I will definitely be coming back for that pork! Our waitress was awesome and the vibe of the place was great. Had some fun book shelves near our table. 10/10!

Yelp
10/10. The atmosphere is amazing. Very cozy and inviting especially on a cold winter night. They have an excellent wine selection and food options. Things are so fresh there and always very tasty. The cioppino was INCREDIBLE. Still thinking about that dish. This restaurant is definitely one of my very favorites in stl and does not disappoint. I have never had bad service here even on super busy nights. Parking can be challenging as it is street parking, but I promise it is worth it.

Yelp
The ambiance is warm, food is well portioned and delicious and Regan-our server-was excellent. Definitely will be going back.

Yelp
What a gem! I love everything about this place. The building, the ambiance, the food and the service were spot on. As a newbie to Polite Society, we just tried a few appetizers and salad. When our food came out, the couple at the table next to us complimented us on our choices and said it made them second guess their appetizers. The presentation was gorgeous. I will start with the Deviled Eggs. This was my least favorite dish of the night. The capers were good and the roe was a nice touch that popped in your mouth but the eggs themselves were under seasoned. The PEI Mussels though!! I'm not a huge fan of mussels but Polite Society changed my mind! Absolutely delicious. The butter sauce was simply amazing and delicious to sop up with the generous portions of bread. This is a definite must try and will be the appetizer of choice on our next visit. The third appetizer we had was the Acorn Squash and it was delicious, as well. There was so much depth to this dish and the heat from the peppers and curry was, for lack of a better term, fire! Last, we had the Mixed Greens Salad. A salad is a salad, right? Not here. This salad was very good and dressed well. And that goat cheese and dressing...spot on. The couple next to us ordered the Crispy Broccolini and shared their thoughts with us. They raved about the broccolini which made me wish we'd tried it too but that's another excuse to come back. We will most definitely go back and try that Crispy Broccolini and a few of the Entrees. Let me tell you, we observed the entrees brought out for other diners and they all looked amazing and well portioned. To be continued...

Yelp
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on a Sunday night. The menu has such a great variety of appetizers, salads, soups and entrees with just enough choices to make it difficult to choose ! Great variety of dishes. Appetizers were ample for sharing. Entrees large portioned and a good thing because they were fabulously delicious. Nice cocktail and wine list and separate dessert menu with drink offerings. Service was prompt, friendly and courteous. At times, a bit loud for conversation at that level, but depended upon group seated around you. Really enjoyed the experience!!

Yelp
Brunch on a Saturday afternoon- food was fabulous, drinks tasty, service was delayed but pleasant! Wandered in on a weekend trip in STL after having this location pop up in my insta feed several times. The location near Lafayette Park is quaint and charming. We arrived around 1pm and were seated quickly for their brunch offerings. We ordered the pomegranate and the elder flower sparkling drinks, shrimp and grits, and chorizo avocado Benedict. The food was perfect! Only downside- we waited quite some time to be addressed by our server once seated. There must have been some confusion about who was assigned to our table or when we were seated- the server apologized but was sparsely seen for the rest of our visit...this wasn't too big of a deal since we were not in a hurry and had time to catch up and visit in the meantime. I am a shrimp and grits gal and these were top notch!

Yelp
Came here for my best friend and I's birthday a few days ago and wondered why I hadn't tried them out sooner. We got a great spot near the back with a full view of the whole restaurant, love the cozy decor. We had mimosas and coffee to start, French toast + shrimp and grits. Everything was great! Our waitress came over to wish us both happy birthdays and gave us gift certificates from a free appetizer at The Bellweather, their sister restaurant. I thought it was an extremely nice touch. Will absolutely be back with more friends to enjoy more of the menu and their hospitality.

Yelp
Sundays are for church and brunchin', so it was only right to try brunch at Polite Society since I was in town visiting STL for a concert. I saw rave reviews from Google search so I had to come try Sunday Brunch. The vibe was very chill and cozy. I dig how the decor gives a rustic, simple feel with accent walls of brick and color pops here and there. They do have reservations or you can take a chance and do 1st come/1st serve as my party of 2 did. We ended up sitting at the bar instead of waiting for a table. The bar staff were friendly, very nice, and answered all my questions about the brunch menu. The waffle was just right with crispy edges. The bacon and eggs were delicious. The potato wedges were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my whole experience and became a member of the clean plate club. The price was reasonable, but I didnt care too much for some things being al carte options, which I stayed away from. I definitely would recommend this spot to anyone in the STL area, near Lafayette Square.

Yelp
The down and dirty... Lamb Meatballs appetizer - worth every penny, would come back just for this dish! The Bistro Steak - not cooked to correct temperature and under-seasoned while the sprouts were over seasoned. The Fries - The surprise of the night, outstanding for french fries and perfectly cooked with the correct amount of salt. Our waiter was very knowledgable and provided above average service, cool building and overall a unique experience albeit too expensive ($150 for two steak dinners, a four meatball platter and one cocktail), but none the less had a good night out with the wife!
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Started with the Second honeymoon, delicious spicy yet refreshing reposado cocktail followed by the lamb meatballs which were equally delicious. Next week split the steak and scallops, no complaints, all praises for both. Our server was very attentive yet not bothersome at all. Drinks came fast , food was paced comfortably distanced apart, overall incredible experience. Restaurant was clean and there was plenty of light considering the price tag.

Yelp
Another restaurant near me that's taken some time to get to. I don't know WHY?! A friend was visiting and I thought brunch would be a great catch up date. I made our reservation on Friday. Arrived to an interesting bar set up. They had almost every spirit you could think of. What caught my eyes were the bottles up top with handwritten labels on them. I'm ALWAYS intrigued by "THOSE" bottles. What yumminess did someone create? I DEFINITELY have to come back to hang at the bar. On to brunch. Within a couple of mins of arrival I was taken to the dining side to our table. The space was warm and had so much character. I looked over the menu while I waited for my friend. She arrived and we immediately started catching up. Not thinking about food. LOL our server Abby was great and patient with us. I thought I was going to have french toast. I inquired about the quiche of the day. The days selection wasn't my jam so I went with the bagel and lox. Marinated tomatoes on the side and a bowl of fruit. Instead of a breakfast cocktail I went with coffee. I inquired about where they source their coffee... I'm not a coffee snob by NO MEANS but I love when local support local. And guess what...THEY DO...and guess what else...it's my FAV Dubuque. The excitement on my face spoke for itself. We continued to catch up and time was no issue. Our coffee arrived in a large mug...UH SCORE! Abby kept it flowing! Food arrives and I IMMEDIATELY remembered a friend mentioning to me that she ate somewhere local but felt like it was "vacation food". It was at that moment I knew what she meant. The presentation while simple MADE me eat my bagel and lox with a knife and fork. It felt too special to pick up to handle. Nothing was overpowering in flavors. I'm SO glad because I dont typically like everything bagel flavored seasoning. The tomatoes were dressed in a lightly seasoned oil and I was SO glad I ordered them on the side. A perfect accompaniment. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO COME HERE??? Prices are beyond reasonable for the quality you receive. I am already planning another Saturday brunch and a bar visit!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Charming spot to meet up with friends and the brunch is devine!

Yelp
The ambiance of a retro vintage style restaurant and I loved it! It was giving me artsy vibes. The food menu was very interesting by the names as well as the options. I can definitely tell everything was made fresh to order. The eggs tasted really good and I am very picky when it comes to eggs. I am a huge fan of Bottomless mimosas but I don't care for these too much. They didn't have much taste to me which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The hostess was great and the server was attentive. I'd like to try their lunch/dinner options next time!

Brandy N.

Yelp
The location and ambience is quintessential St Louis at the turn of the century. Came here for brunch as a group of four and ordered a variety to share. Usually not a fan of grits but the cheesy grits were so good! I want to come back here and try dinner. The only thing lacking during our visit was the service. It was less than average but not bad. It would actually be a neat touch if they dressed up in 1920's outfits. Agree with everyone that reservations are recommended. I was able to do that pretty easily on the Yelp app.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The broccoli was to die for, absolutely delicious. Lamb meatballs, charcuterie, deviled eggs were also all wonderful. Service was fast and I loved the ambiance and the smaller more intimate space.
google avatar

Holly R.

Yelp
I was craving some good grits for brunch one morning and found their shrimp and grits on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing their shrimp and grits were!! We had great service and were sat upstairs that had a cute ambiance! I would highly recommend making reservations for brunch and trying them out!

Yelp
My favorite brunch spot in all of St. Louis , for many reasons. First and most importantly the food is spectacular - I dream about the omelets. The ambiance is clean and organized and welcoming. Service never fails to impress as well with great recommendations and always helpful. Would recommend very highly.

Yelp
Polite Society in St. Louis delivered a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was inviting and stylish, with a warm and energetic atmosphere. The service was excellent - our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making great recommendations throughout the meal. I went there with my partner, my aunt, and her friend. We started with a charcuterie board, which was a delightful way to begin the evening. The bistro steak was cooked to perfection, and the mussels and cauliflower were both flavorful and delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive, and had a perfect balance of flavors. We also got 2 bottles of wine for the table. Overall, Polite Society impressed on all fronts. The delicious food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere make it a must-try for anyone visiting St. Louis.

Yelp
One. Of. My. Favorite. Restaurants. In. STL. Polite Society is definitely a pricier dinner spot in the STL area, but so worth it. I've been here for breakfast and dinner and have been blown away each time. For dinner, I sat at the bar and was helped by the bartenders who were very attentive and warm. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with fun orange wallpaper and rustic modern fixtures. I ordered the scallop dinner which consisted of seared scallops, collard greens, and bacon risotto. The risotto was amazing and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Another restaurant patron recommended the dish to me. I also ordered the Bistro Steak with fries. *french kiss* Delicious as well and cooked to perfection. I ended the night with their famous espresso martini. It was sweet and smooth. I definitely recommend Polite Society for a date night or treat yourself meal. Don't skimp out on their brunch/breakfast either. Their Osso Buck Hash is soooo good.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The atmosphere is so eclectic and energetic. This is by far omy favorite brunch location in STL. Service is always great and the Osso Bucco brunch dish is so full of flavor and is the most creative item on any brunch menu!
google avatar

Dawn H.

Yelp
We got the last table in the alcove up front by the window and I'm so, so glad we got to stay and eat at this top-notch restaurant. It is still the most memorable meal of our trip to St. Louis. The food is as surprisingly delightful as the "Polite Society" movie. I would kick, punch, Baliwood dance my way back to this restaurant given the chance.

Yelp
Polite Society is easily one of my go tos. I love the fact that you can make a reservation, it's located in one of my favorite areas of the city, it has a unique feel, and the food/ drinks are fantastic. My friends and I made a reservation here to ring in the holiday season. We were seated promptly and our server was super helpful. We ordered red wine to drink and several appetizers. Appetizers: - crispy broccolini: cooked perfectly and loved the ricotta it was served ontop of. I'm not a ricotta gal but this was pretty good. - charcuterie/ cheese board: great variety Entree: Bistro steak: cooked perfectly (I requested medium) and came with plenty of pieces since it was sliced, I liked this because it made it easy for sharing. I really liked the Brussels that were served with it! They had a maple Dijon zing to them which was great. It's a cozy spot with so much character. You can't go wrong!

Yelp
Got a relatively late reservation here for V-Day. Neither of us had been here before. I live in the neighborhood and walk by often. We were seated upstairs. Steep stairs but cool. I had no idea there was an upstairs. The ambulance is dark and romantic but not so dark you can't see the menu. Bailey was our server. He was helpful concerning their signature cocktails. The drinks are very different. I ordered the Glow Worm and enjoyed it. The appetizers were great especially the cauliflower. Broccolini grew on me as I kept eating it. My boyfriend enjoyed his tenderloin, potatoes and asparagus. I don't eat meat so my only two options were the Acorn Squash or an impossible burger. I chose the Acorn Squash w/ lentils it was very good, very filing. Unlike anything I've had at a restaurant. The burger was very popular (I'm nosy) so I definitely want to return to try it and some more of the signature cocktails.

Yelp
My niece was in town and we got together for a late Saturday brunch. She made reservations for 1pm, although they close at 2pm and then reopen for dinner a few hours later. I arrived right at 1pm, waited near the entrance until the host arrived. I was a little confused on where to go since you're immediately greeted by the bar once you walk inside. Another group of five or six ladies were waiting for a lunch table although I could tell they each were partaking in unlimited mimosas. Host arrived and then seated me in the dining area. Exposed brick, hard wood floors and quaint decor with Edison bulb lighting galore. My niece and I both got mimosas (not bottomless) and chicken and waffles. Two Chicken breasts with panko breadcrumbs and decent sized waffle with a sweet spicy syrup. I was hoping for more spice although Tabasco was on the table. Waitress was great. Food and mimosas were good. We chatted away and the manager finally came by to inform us (very politely) of closing time. I believe we left right around 2:15. Nice place for girls brunch. Would like to visit again for dinner.

Yelp
I've heard such great things about Polite Society and I had high hopes. I think I must've visited them on an off day. I was seated in the bar area and largely forgotten about. I do believe the reason was because I was the only table that had a server that was also working in the main dining room. Everyone else in the bar area were seated at the bar and were served by the bartender. I don't blame the waiter for the service issues, I just blame the way that they set up service for that lone bar table in the front window. I ordered a beverage and I still didn't have it by the time my food arrived and had to remind them. One of the two poached eggs in my osso buco hash was over-hard and was replaced by a barely poached egg that had runny whites and was served to me in a ramekin along with a few tablespoons of water. The egg chef just couldn't seem to find that sweet spot. My first poached egg was perfect though. Then, about 10 bites into my osso buco hash I came across a large piece of eggshell. Sigh. Overall the hash did not have the depth of flavor I was expecting. I didn't complain about the food but I did bring the shell to the attention of the waiter as he took my plate away. I was full and wasn't expecting to have it taken off my bill but he kindly did so and insisted upon it when I protested. That was a nice touch. I believe I may come back with friends and sit in the dining area for a dinner service in the future. There are some interesting menu items on the dinner menu that I must try.

Yelp
Polite Society has such a good brunch! I've been there for dinner (which were my older pictures). The brunch was great and it was my first time having brunch. I was having trouble deciding on what to have at brunch, but honestly you can't go wrong with these options. We got seated in the back on the second floor and the vibes were too perfect for a Saturday morning Our group ordered the Vegetable Omelet Osso Buco Hash Chorizo Avocado Benedict Breakfast Burrito I ate my entire plate of chorizo avocado benedict, so I recommend! The burrito was definitely big enough for two servings. And the osso buco hash has the most unique dish with a lot of different flavors!

Yelp
I met my cousin and aunt here for brunch. The food was delicious! I had the French toast and potato wedges! The French toast was cooked to perfection and the potato wedges were seasoned just right! My cousin enjoyed her veggie omelette and my aunt enjoyed her shrimp and grits! The service was perfect from the hostess to the waitress! The waitress was very patience as we were there to dine and to discuss our upcoming family reunion. The restaurant was decorated very quaint with vintage and antique pieces. I love the esthetic of the Lafayette area and the restaurant storefront did not disappoint! Very New Orleans feels! I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lauren E.

Yelp
We were able to get a last minute brunch reservation today. Service was quick and efficient. We had the PB&J stuffed French toast and breakfast burrito. Both were really delicious. The French toast was heavier on the peanut butter and it wasn't overly sweet. The burrito was huge. We had it with the sauces on the side, which made it easier to eat. Definitely recommend trying this spot for brunch!

Yelp
Not a bad experience but not memorable. We enjoyed our brunch but we will probably try other options when we are back in the area.

Yelp
Lovely romantic atmosphere. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was tasty. Our favorite of the dishes was the heirloom tomato salad. The shrimp and grits were solid but not our favorite. Our other salad was good, the deviled eggs were beautiful. The spätzel was underwhelming. The cauliflower was nice. Reasonable prices for this type of sit down restaurant. Defiantly would come back again but would not rush back.

Yelp
Really nice place with wonderful server. Menu is compact. One of our guests ordered the pasta ragu but couldn't handle the spice of the Calabrian chiles. Waiter took it away and credited that dish on our bill. No questions asked. I had the Caesar which was kale and bitter greens. Could have used a bit more dressing for my taste. Spaetzle was really kae Spaetzle (with cheese), a family favorite of mine. This was not Bavarian style (they didn't claim it was) so not comfort food for me but still good. Deviled eggs were yum. Our vegan guest really enjoyed her meal (only one app (cauliflower) and one entree (udon) option but she was happy). Nice neighborhood place and glad we went.

Jeanette B.

Yelp
The most wonderful spot. The host is a wizard. The bartender is generous. The waiter was there to make sure we were happy. The food was great!

Yelp
Such a cute spot in Lafayette area. Parking was easy. Service was friendly and fast. Food and drink were delicious. Price point was good for the amount of food we received. Definitely would try it again! Great spot for a date night or girls night out.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I both work in the restaurant industry and we love trying new places, especially on a Monday night when we're both off! Even though it was really lively, our server Andrew was very knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere was very romantic, yet causal and good for a date night or celebration. We enjoyed all of the food and drinks very much! The pork dish was unique and the scallops were some of the best I've had in a while. We plan on coming back to try more on the menu

Yelp
Having been to The Bellwether a few times over the years, we had high expectations for Polite Society. And it did not disappoint! We arrived with a reservation earlier today and were immediately taken to our table. I was very impressed by the decor and ambience. Polite Society really embodies Lafayette Square and is such a fun and intimate place to dine! The service was top notch and it was a great night out. The menu is limited, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! It did help us make our decision quickly- we ordered the steak bistro. The dish comes with steak, crispy Brussels sprouts, fries, and a maple Dijon dressing. The steak was solid, but not as good as the one we had at The Bellweather, which we found to be more favorable. The fries, shoestring-esque, were delicious! I just couldn't stop eating them. What was most impressive about this dish, however, were the Brussel sprouts. Hands down, the best I've ever had. Typically, I wouldn't even touch Brussel sprouts, but these were so delicious with a savory seasoning that paired well the dressing. Between the amazing service, fun decor, and the fries with the Brussel Sprouts, this was an easy 5 for me. We will be back!

Yelp
This restaurant has a very fun rustic vibe. When you enter you're immediately in the bar area with a beautiful rustic old mansion vibe. Racks of beautifully placed liquor bottles on a prohibition style metal racking. As you traverse up the stairs, you see a small coffee shop vibe. I loved all the nick knacks and the old machines displayed everywhere. We ordered the mussels and Malfada. All very very good, but lacking in donuts blow your mind flavor. Malfada is one of my most favorite dishes, it was a crazy large portion (great for leftovers). The pasta was perfect al dente. The sauce was rich, thick and tasty, but still lacked the bang I was hoping for. The mussels were big and delicious. The dipping bread, which all girls love, was perfectly crisp and perfect in the sauce. Overall the drinks were great and the food was really hood, but still needed a little something extra. Service, was great beginning to end. We will go back!

Yelp
We recently dined at Polite Society, a charming restaurant and gathering place nestled in historic Lafayette Square. The restaurant's mission to provide a warm environment of thoughtful service, exceptional food, and company shines through. We had the Tuna Poke, Roe topped Deviled Eggs, and a Burrata and Tomato Salad. #stlouispescatarianapproved Each dish was a delightful burst of flavor and freshness. The ingredients felt carefully chosen, reflecting a dedication to quality and seasonality. The bar at Polite Society is not just impressive in its setup but also in its offerings. It serves as a welcoming centerpiece when you enter, beckoning you to explore their extensive drink menu. Overall, Polite Society delivers on its promise of thoughtfulness, comfort, and approachability in its menu. It's a place that invites you to savor good food, drinks, and company.
