The Best Rotisserie Chickens In LA, Ranked

"As with Pollos El Brasero, the big spinning chicken rotisserie up front at Pollo Mania is hard to miss, but we’re just as obsessed with the tortilla-making station behind it. This strip mall spot in El Monte tucks a stack of warm hand-pressed flour tortillas in with every order, which are ideal sidekicks to their crackly-skinned pollo. Wrap a few pieces of chicken with some fries and beans, add as much hot salsa as tolerable, and let the mania begin." - brant cox

Come here twice a month, it is by far the best chicken I have ever eaten! Love this place! Always friendly staff!

Google
Ordered 2 whole chickens with 4 sides and a large salad with ranch. Tortillas included. Asked for all the salsas, which is 3 different types. Each chicken was cut and put in a container. We got two large rice, 1 beans and 1 coleslaw. Overall, the chicken was tasty and juicy. Btw, you can see the chicken being roasted via wood logs and not gas burners, which added flavor. The rice, beans, and tortillas were on point. The salsas were good. I never got to the salad, but it was your standard iceberg lettuce. All that fed 5 adults and 4 kids with leftovers. I recommend giving this place a try. I will be back when I have a rotisserie chicken kick and need to feed the entire family for well under a Ben.

Google
Ordered the Pollo Saltado and was disappointed with the portion. It was mostly fries and rice, with very little chicken for the price. The fries and rice were good, but I expected more protein for what I paid.

As an Peruvian I am quite unhappy about this restaurant for many reasons. 1. This restaurant does not give off any peruvian vibes it's important because when customers get in they will know that the Title of the restaurant is not for show. 2. They only sell chicken in every plate, like really? This is not Chik-fil-la it's a PERUVIAN restaurant a real Peruvian restaurant will sell other meat pork, beef, and (of course) chicken. Anticuchos in the menu is chicken, wrong anticuchos is roasted beef heart. I understand if u want to be unique, but know that if u want to be a Peruvian restaurant be Peruvian sell authentic Peruvian plates with the right foods. 3. The food has no 'flavor' not saying that it didn't taste good nor that is under or over-cooked but the food had no taste. Having the food take a taste that can make a person remind them of home and others love it on how delicious it. That also included the french fries, it was not french fries just potatoes that were cut in thin slices and fried it was so plain. I believe that even Subway can make better french fries that will taste good. And 4. Seeing on the menu they sell tortilla with the chicken combo. Ok so is this a Peruvian restaurant or a Mexican restaurant? You should'nt be sell tortillas if it is a Peruvian restaurant in Perú even if the people know tortillas nobody will be selling in any restaurant that is Peruvian. To me it looks like this restaurant was built by someone that likes Peruvian food but knows nothing about actual Peruvian restaurant and what they sell and make.

Google
The lomo saltado is always 10/10. The pollo a la brasa for me is too dry. The place is tiny, only few tables.

Google
Food is great but the service is horrible how do you only have 3 customers and don’t call the orders out and just have them sitting getting cold and forgets to put drink inside bag

Google
Excellent grilled chicken, combos to choose, 1/2 chicken and whole chicken 🍗 delicious 😁 big pieces a hearty meal at any time! Traditional Peruvian style! They have many options on sizes and on sides from rice, beans, salad. Bowls or tray portions. If you call to place an order for pick up they’ll not make you wait much and you’re order will be always right! My family and I enjoyed the 2 whole chickens with sides of cole slaw and hot French fries😁😋

Google
We go there once in a while. The food and service are always top notch. Great flavor. Consistent. Prices are reasonable, I think, for what you get. It's hard to find good food in the area. They also catered a small party of about 20 people. They did a great job 👍💪💪

Yelp
Gotta be my favorite restaurant in the SGV right now. The food is always piping hot, fresh, and PACKED with flavor. And somehow, that flavor is consistent, every single time. I've gotten at least 20 or so pollo saltado plates from here and it's A1. Every. Single. Time. The fries are the perfect texture, the chicken is juicy and tender; oh and the rice - the flavor is hard to describe... maybe slightly savory, but not overpowering at all. I'm pretty picky about my rice and there's something about the rice here that really stands out to me. A great accompaniment to all the dishes here. For a first visit I'd probably say the pollo saltado is the star of the show, but the rotisserie-style chicken, which has a different, more citrus-y flavor is also delicious - as are the hot-off-the-grill skewers that are WELL worth the slightly longer wait. I'm not sure what else to say. This place is perfect.

Yelp
I got sick with Covid and couldn't taste a single thing - until I had their chicken soup. Literally this soup healed me! It is now my go-to anytime I'm feeling a bit under the weather. The soup had a generous portion of vegetables and chicken. They even gave me tortillas and extra sides like rice and lots of salsa. I believe I only spent around $10~ but what they give you is worth your money. I had to go since I was sick so I can't comment on the ambiance or the service. Would recommend getting their chicken soup if you're feeling a bit sick

Yelp
Delicious food and great portions. Easy to go food or for dining in, they have a plenty of seating as well! Outside through the window, they have their rotisserie cooking on display and it looks so delicious and the meat looks juicy. Love their selection of dishes since tallarin saltados are always my go-to dish over the rice version and not everywhere always have the noodle version. They also have a selection of a few different sauces which is so fun to try and eat with any of their dishes. They also have a peruvian ice cream on their menu. The day I tried this place they were out so hopefully I'll get the chance to try it next time!

Yelp
I visited Pollo Mania again today after 5 years. I literally walked in and was like hold on...I've been here before. It was Deja Vu and I got a little nervous. I went back to see my review and decided to give it another try. I'm glad I did! I moved to the area 2 years ago and today I had planned to grab a quick pollo loco drive thru in the same plaza but then I saw the sign for this place. After looking at my review I decided to ask if there was any way to make the food less salty and they said sure, we can cook it in half the soy sauce and add half the vinegar. I was craving soup and they let me taste the aguadito before I ordered. It was good! The service was friendly and quick. The food was ready in 10 mins. I ordered the beef lomo saltado, a medium aguadito and inka cola to go. The total was $34 which in this day and age is not bad at all. Both orders came with tortillas and plenty of aji sauce and limes. My bf enjoyed the lomo saltado, I tried it and I approved too. I will definitely go back again and I'm happy I'm just a quick drive away now.

Yelp
This was my first time at this restaurant. It was close by, and the pictures of the chicken looked appetizing. The restaurant is small, but the tables are suitable for grouos of four. I ordered Tallarín Saltado-Pollo ($16.75) and a small Caldo de Pollo ($5.25), and my friends ordered Lomo Saltado ($19.45). The restaurant was quick to make the food and was very accommodating with our request for extra plates and utensils. They also provided free ice waters (upon request). The noodle (Tallarin Saltado-Pollo) was tasty and not oily at all. It had a sour note from the tomatoes, and the chicken bits were tender and flavorful. The chicken soup (Caldo de Pollo) was light and came with a small cup of rice and tortillas. There was decent amount of chicken and vegetables inside. I didn't get to try Lomo Saltado, but my friend said that the rice was flavored and tangy. However, they felt the beef was a bit dry compared to the chicken. The portion of each dish was just right for one person. Maybe I would expect a bit more for the price. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this place and may come back again in the future.

Yelp
Really solid place for lomo saltado and Peruvian chicken. Their lomo saltado had that nice wok flavor and good portions. The white rice in this lomo saltado was also really good and had perfect texture and went really well with the sauce/beef/fries in this dish. Their chicken had delicious crispy skin and was juicy and tender inside. Aguadito pollo was a comforting soup with plentiful tender chicken. This is a great Peruvian restaurant and I really enjoyed everything I had here.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with the family to celebrate my mom's birthday. We order the aguadito as well as the 1/2 chicken plate with fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The 1/2 chicken is very tender and flavorful. Everything came with your choice of tortillas and various kinds of salsas. The aguadito is a hearty soup of. chicken pieces, gizzards, and rice so make sure to add the lemon for that tang as well as some of the other salsa in it. The large is enough for one person. The fries were also better than average. Plenty of tables to eat there, you order at the counter and retrieve your food there too. You can also see all the roasted chickens being freshly roasted.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
I came here since I was in the nearby area. The lomo saltado was delicious and hit the spot. It was enough for me to take half home to continue eating. It came with choice of corn or flour tortillas, choice between 4 salsas, and plenty of lomo saltado. I might try a quarter chicken meal next time which also looked very tasty.

Yelp
We always are looking out for fast Peruvian food, and my family found this great little spot. There is plenty of parking around the shopping center for the restaurant. When you walk in, it is small , not ideal for big parties but if you catch it at the right time, you can move some tables together. The girls at the register are very nice, they listen and make sure the order is right. There is a little window by the door where you can see the chickens turning on the rotisserie. The food was awesome! The flavor is totally there! I had the tallarín and even though it's not my go to, man was it delicious! I was also intrigued about the lomo saltado burrito, yes i said burrito, which I'll try the next time i come. Really recommend this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
We have been searching for Peruvian food and this place came in number 2 of my nearby search in yelp. Called in to order beef Lomo Saltado which is my husband's favorite and he is an expert at in the area of Peruvian food, they were few people waiting for the rotisserie chicken when we walked in. The girls on the counter are super friendly and she was telling me what sauces are good. The order was almost ready, behind the counter you will see the cook making the food. I asked and saw that they are using fresh potatoes in their ingredients. The place has few tables that are enough to seat good amount of people. Beef Lomo Saltado was very good 5/5 the tomatoes, potatoes are fresh. I liked it with green salsa chimuchuri . We will be back to try the chicken!! I am so glad I found this place. Call in advance to order for pick up so you don't have to wait.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the food in this place. My husband stumbled on it while searching for rotisserie chicken options. It's a smaller place inside but they do have a few tables to sit in for dine in. When you walk in, you can the chicken being cooked from the window which is kind of cool. We ordered whole chicken with rice and beans for the sides. We also ordered the tallarin saltado pollo and caldo de pollo. Everything was pretty good! Definitely a great tasting chicken and even better paired with their salsa's. The workers were friendly and she even gave us samples of the drinks they had which was some sort of corn drink- it was actually good but my husband wanted to get Inca Kola which is a Peruvian soda. Overall I would recommend this place! We will definitely be back for more.

Yelp
I ordered a lomo saltado and it was really flavorful. They offer very generous portion sizes and great prices as well. Would come back to try something different.

Yelp
I found out how dangerous it is to watch YouTube food videos about Peru. About an hour into it I decided I had to have some Lomo Saltado. Our local favorite joint, Mario's, was a bit too far so we decided to try out Pollo Mania which I had heard good things about. Made the trek down to El Monte and picked up a Lomo Saltado, a whole chicken, and a large order of Aguadito. I wish I could have eaten it on the spot but I wanted to get home to watch the game. Anyway, the food was excellent but still a notch below Mario's in terms of the quality of meat used and the level of wok hay that got infused into the food. Nonetheless we enjoyed everything and the prices were very fair and the service was super friendly. They also cook extra fast as they said they only needed 10 minutes after I called. I'm going to make sure to get down there next time when I can eat in their dining area because I know it will be significantly better.

Yelp
We came here on a whim because we wanted a quick nearby lunch. Totally surprised with how good the food are. Their lomo saltado is pretty good. It is about $20 so it's pretty pricey. But they give a decent serving. Also, it comes with a side of tortilla- giving the el pollo loco vibe. The chicken sandwich is so nice and tender. They give big chicken pieces and they're soooo tender. The mayo is light and not overwhelming. I could tell their rotisserie chicken has got to be good. Also, it's only 3 bucks more but they give a lot of fries. We placed our order over the phone and the lady was nice and very thoughtful. We requested to omit cilantro from the sandwich. The lady said the sandwich doesn't come with cilantro so we are good. But it does come with celery, would we be ok with that? So glad she brought it up because we don't like celery either. The meal would definitely be not as enjoyable for us otherwise!

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem. The food was unexpected. We had planned on trying a new chicken joint which happened to be Peruvian. The restaurant itself is unassuming. It's a small place in a shopping plaza. So Not expecting much outside of getting regular chicken. But it was so much more! I will say I've never had Saltado before but omg, the flavors bursting from this dish was like Fourth of July for the mouth. Everything was cooked perfectly. We also had the 1/4 rotisserie chicken combo which had its own wonderfully unique flavor. The chicken was so tender. I bit the leg and it almost melted in my mouth. So delicious!!!! Whoever the cook is - they really know what they're doing! I haven't gone to any other Peruvian places outside of Inka pollo so I don't know how close this was to Peruvian cooking but I do know it tasted fantastic! Even the rice was so good. The beans and the sauce too. I literally mixed it in everything from the rice to the chicken. The tortillas are handmade. The Maracuya was perfect. The sauces were good. We had chimichurri and pico degallo which tasted fresh and good. I love that the chimichurri was not spicy. The dining/sitting, nothing fancy, but the area was clean! Floors, clean. Tops in my book over everything. I noticed as we were eating our food someone would come out constantly to wipe tables *and* seats down after every patron left. We could not stop talking about this place, and even planning our next trip back. If you like flavor. This was a great surprise - 10/10.
google avatar

Diane N.

Yelp
the flavor of this chicken was so goood and it was juicy! the chicken skin was a tad bit salty, but overall pretty delicious. The fries portion that they give you is big and definitely enough to share! They weren't too salty or under seasoning, they were perfect. Honorable mention for the chimmichurri sauce OMG
google avatar

Alexis D.

Yelp
This Mom and Pop Restaurant is sooo worth it. Delicious food that is fresh and the beef lomo saltado usually lasts me 2-3 meals. It's about $18. It's extremely delicious. The cashiers are really nice and are helpful the first time I went here with the right choice. The parking is a bit challenging, and the restaurant itself is a bit hot. I'm assuming because it's summer time when I went and they are freshly making hot food. The restaurant is small, but has several tables. Every time I am here it's busy with locals. Great food! Sooo worth it!
google avatar

Aida T.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich here is absolutely the best--it's a true hidden gem! Unlike Cane's, they use flavorful rotisserie chicken to create an incredible chicken salad that's fresh and delicious. This is a must-try for anyone looking for a standout sandwich
google avatar

Yelp
This place has some dang good. Chicken and sauces ! So freekjng good and you walk outta here full. Would def come back here again ! This place definitely hit the spot after attending our nieces pickleball tourney ! The chicken was soo juicy the sides were perfect and the sauces were a great accompaniment to the meal but the chicken was so juicy it didn't even need it !
google avatar

Alejandra M.

Yelp
This is the second time I come to this restaurant because of all the great reviews but both times it has been a disappointment! First you walk in the restaurant and the temperature I. Side had to have been 95degrees! The chicken is moist and well seasoned however they have this turned into more of a Mexican rotisserie chicken place than a Peruvian... Peruvians don't eat tortillas! The service is cordial but not friendly They give you spoons and no forks... for rotisserie chicken no forks nor knives???!!! They don't have the green ahi! The prices were a bit high for rotisserie chicken! Would I recommend this place....
google avatar

Khai T.

Yelp
This place is easily 5 stars. It's non pretentious, in the hood of El Monte. A whole rotisserie chicken for $18. The chino salsa and Pico de gallo are amazing. I also had their chicken soup as well. It comes with a side of rice. Owner and workers are super nice. It's ironic that it's located right across from el pollo loco. Been coming here for years.

Mel T.

Yelp
The food does not taste Peruvian, the chicken was tasteless, the price was expensive, the salsa was was not good we're not coming back
google avatar

C M.

Yelp
The aguadito soup is AMAZING!! I also tried their caldo de pollo which was good too, but I know I'm for sure getting their agaudito soup again. I got the medium size and it was a really good portion of food. The restaurant itself is nice, clean, and the people who work there are nice and friendly too. Easy parking in the lot.

Yelp
Best Pollo saltado!! Excellent all the way around. Little place in El Monte. Worth the drive definitely!!

Yelp
Friendly staff, good soup. My son had something coming on so I looked for chicken soup and this place gave me the best looking photos on yelp so we went with it and it was a win for us.

Yelp
The food was delicious, large portions! Will definitely come again! The lomo saltado was soft and tender.

Yelp
Try the family meal 1 whole chicken with your choice of 2 sides, flour tortillas, and ask for Aji & chimichuri

Yelp
My first time at Pollo Mania and it was good. Peruvian style wood roasting is my favorite kind of chicken. I've eaten at all the Pollo a la Brasa places within 30 minutes of my house on the Eastside. I ordered at the counter for take-out. Two Half Chickens with two sides. The order-taker was friendly and helpful. No problem getting the fries well-done. How was the food? We both enjoyed the flavor of the chicken. Nicely seasoned, slightly smoky. The chicken was well cooked, not dried out at all, and very big. Quite good. I was a little disappointed by their style of aji sauce: short on flavor and creaminess. But not bad. The other salsas were very good. I didn't try the chimichurri sauce. I should have. I had fries and slaw with mine. Both were good. Very big order of fries! My guest really liked his chicken, but was underwhelmed by the beans and rice. They were okay, he said. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with Pollo Mania. I'll definitely return if I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Esme was the kind woman who helped me out! It was my first time here and I wanted to try the Caldo De Pollo initially, but saw the Aguadito de pollo and was conflicted. I then asked Esme for her recommendation but she kept it real with me and asked her co-worker what her preference was, which was the aguadito! The difference is that the aguadito has chicken gizzards, love that but wasn't in a mood, so I ended up doing the Caldo. Fooking amazing. Thank you so much to the employees here!!
google avatar

Yelp
Quick service, delicious food with authentic Peruvian taste, clean eating area. The anticuchos are good
google avatar

Yelp
This place is delicious, tried the lomo saltado and pollo saltado delicioso. I order in advance just to show up and pay. They are very friendly. Small restaurant big flavor.

Yelp
Place is always fire! Love the quality and food! Lomo all the way! Great service too! Definitely one of my favorite gems

Yelp
This use to be the best Peruvian Rotisserie restaurant In all of SGV... no longer. What happened, maybe change of ownership. No matter how far I was, if I was in the mood for rotisserie chicken, this was my spot. It's still better than store bought rotisserie just not what I've come to expect from them.

Yelp
Aprovecharé en esta oportunidad para dejar un buen review sobre este restaurante. me dirigía originalmente hacia el grande que está Justo en frente pero para sorpresa mía estaba Pollo Manía Justo ahí por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad. Qué grata sorpresa me he llevado. I will take this opportunity to leave a good review of this restaurant. I was originally heading for the big one Right in front of it but to my surprise there was Pollo Manía right there so I decided to give it a try instead. What a pleasant surprise! I ordered a 1/4 chicken combo with two sides (salad and coleslaw). The taste is incomparable. and the portion of the chicken as well as the sides are very generous. The Peruvian chili sauce is spectacular and not to mention the chimichurri that also accompanies. honestly a pleasant taste experience. highly recommended. The restaurant is very well kept clean and the servers are very nice too. Don't give the five stars because there's no restroom for customers.

Yelp
Taste great. Chicken is cooked to perfection. Not over cooked. Good prices. The soup is also tasty.

Yelp
** Covid 19 *** Saw one of my friends post about this place and the food looked good. I did some research on Yelp and it looks promising! Got there and as soon as I parked a lady asked me to roll down my window so she can talk to me - she did not have a mask on. This isn't starting off well..... Anyways - placed my order: 1 Pollo Saltado - NO CILANTRO 1/2 chicken meal with rice and coleslaw Took like 15 mins. Food smells great Cant wait to get home and grub Get home.....open the boxes and the chicken smells great. Open the Pollo Saltado and it has cilantro I heard the girl at the register call it out "No Cilantro" What the heck....... Flavor was good after picking out what I could - but the taste was still there. PS - Bring a stylus if you plan on using a card to pay. Otherwise you'll have to touch the screen on their machine.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was a kid. Great food. When it gets busy there will be a long wait time. We have only ordered a pollo entero, beans, rice, fries, and chicken sandwich. Whenever im in town this place is a food stop must since I miss the chicken sandwich so much.
google avatar

Roberta L.

Yelp
My go to place for chicken if I wanna get a family meal! Super cheap and decent size, call in so there's no wait, get the family meal and throw in the Lomo Saltado. You won't regret it
google avatar

Ada Z.

Yelp
They have a decent sized parking lot shared with several businesses. We came around 11:30am on a Tuesday, and we had to circle around a few times, before we found a spot. We called ahead of time to place an order, and they said it would take about 10 minutes. Prices are decent, and food is delicious. Lomo saltado: This dish was a bit oily, but the flavors are amazing. The fries, tomatoes, onions, beef, and fries were all seasoned well, and the flavors worked well together. Onions were caramelized and sweet. The fries were soggy, but that's to be expected with this dish. Portions are generous, and they offered a lot of salsas, 5/5.
google avatar

Evy V.

Yelp
So good, ordered the Lomo Saltado, it was so delicious. The meat had so much flavor and was really juicy. Their salsa aji complimented the meal perfectly. Meal was a bit on the pricey side and there was no ac inside , it was hot that day.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. Chicken perfectly marinated and cooked. Fries are good and very marinated. Service is great. Employees are great. Owner is there and very nice. In my opinion better than Pollo Loco.
google avatar

Keivon O.

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken Saltado ( chicken, potatoes and veggies) burrito and the gave me a regular chicken bean and rice burrito . I would taken it back but I live too far. What's really annoying about this is the saltado burrito cost more than the regular chicken bean and rice burrito so basically got ripped off.
google avatar

Medz H.

Yelp
Lomo sotaldo is good from this spot. Wish it was a bit cheaper but I always end up enjoying the food. 10/10 the tortilla are a nice touch. I wish they were on Uber Eats tho.

Yelp
The location is a basic restaurant nothing fancy, but the chicken was nice and tender. Their Lomo Saltado is soooo freaking good. Def. Recommend

Crystal S.

Yelp
I had Mt parents go order food yesterday and I'll never go there again. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The chicken was not good. It was dry small tasteless and on top of it all overpriced. If it had tasted good I wouldn't complain but it tasted terrible and there's far better places within a 15 min radius that have quality chicken. That being said I won't go there ever again and if I could give less than 1 star I would because not even the potato tasted good. Nothing we ordered was to our liking and this is not peruvian food! Also tasted like leftover food and most of it i tossed in the trash. Its really difficult to screw up potato but they managed to do it. 75+ for food that was just not good at all.

David S.

Yelp
Came in during lunch. The service was slow, but worth the wait. Consider preordering as it may save you some wait time.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
This store is located in a small plaza. You may first see the El Pollo Loco. I didn't have trouble with parking. Due to COVID restrictions the floors are marked off and takeout orders only. This may well be my new go-to Peruvian spot. I ordered a whole chicken combo. It comes with tortillas -- you can choose flour or corn. It also comes with 2 sides. I ordered salad and rice. I also ordered lomo saltado and aguadito soup. My favorite was the aguadito soup but everything tasted good.
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
On my way from bringing specimens to our COVID testing lab, my wife called and asked if I had any ideas for dinner. I told her there was this Peruvian chicken place on my way home. After reading some reviews, we decided to give it a try. Located in the west end of the Food4Less parking lot on Garvey and Valley in El Monte, this place has tight parking, but plenty of it if you're willing to walk, and easy off street access. If anything said hole-in-the-wall, this was it. It's a non-descript, small restaurant with about 10 tables and a mostly to-go crowd. The locally owned small business gets its fair share of locals who rattle off their orders in Spanish like I'm sure they've done many times before. We like Peruvian food for its unique blend of Spanish and Asain flavors. Lomo Saltado is one of our favorites. While this version lacked onions and the "green sauce" we love on the side, the flavors were good and the chimichurri sauce was spot on. The whole roasted chicken had a unique flavor, almost like there's a hint of anise in it. The dark meat pieces were moist, but like most spit roasted chickens, the wings and breast were a bit dry. Full of flavor but dry. We also got extra fries, rice and beans and flour tortillas on the side with a myriad of flavorful sauces with one only being HOT. For 2 Lomo Saltado dinners, 1 roasted chicken, large fries, and rice and beans, the total was just over $71.00. A bit steep for a weeknight dinner, but full of flavor and worth it for the occasional extravagance and convenience. My brother-in-law and his husband love Peruvian food. In fact, they were the ones who got us hooked. We can't wait to host dinner and surprise them with this version of Lomo Saltado... Now, when is my next drive to the lab...
