Holy smokes- this place was SO GOOD!! The beans, chicken, rice, avocado, plantains omg. I will definitely be back!! Service was so fast and the wait staff was so kind! Shoutout the waiter with the glasses- what a sweetie! Highly recommend this Colombian place! This place gets busy so get there early!!

Pollos Mario is a cute mom and pop style Colombian restaurant serving authentic Colombian cuisine. Its the kind of easy-going family-friendly environment where it's safe to let your toddler sit and play with siblings while you all enjoy a casual meal. The staff is bilingual, polite, and helpful in interpreting the myriad traditional platters. I believe Pollos Mario has other locations, but this one's a local favorite operated by the same friendly staff over the years. The ambiance is akin to a quaint courtyard in the countryside of Latin American. The restaurant walls are colorful and there are ample windows for natural sunshine in the day. The lovely faux orange 🍊 tree at the center of the venue has branches that soften the overhead lighting as they extend across the room with their "fruit" and "leaves". I sat in their vintage balcony wing with Spanish tile "roofing" that overlooks the rest of the dining area and sits among the tree's leaves. There are additional tables on the ground level, some beneath the tree's shade, and larger tables off towards the sides. There are TVs all around so everyone can watch the same thing regardless of seating orientation. Expect to watch Spanish Football matches as soon as the season starts! They play all the major games and fans love to watch (cheer and groan) over meals with family. It can turn into a family affair, so don't be surprised if you hear a 6 year old relaying the scores and latest tantalizing play by play. It's a great wholesome experience and breath of fresh air for those longing for some old fashioned comfort foods from home. Will definitely be back.

Coming here and knowing the staff like family is great. The food is delicious, the quantity given allows for leftovers and service is friendly. Decor is very colorful and the background Latin music adds to the environment.

Food was good, drink was okay. Recommended to try for first time for sure. Can get a little too loud, witnessed two people fighting over the bathroom lol but otherwise, good time spent for sure.

Delicious Colombian food at such a good price. The portions are huge! Make sure to bring cash, credit cards have a 4% fee. $20 gets you a huge plate with rice, beans, and so much meat. I couldn’t finish my bandeja tipica. My favorite are the beans though. Staff are extremely kind, especially since I’m not very familiar with Latin American cuisine. Would come back again.

Have tried the whole chicken with rice/beans combo and got plantains as well. The chicken is really good, well cooked and juicy and the beans are so flavorful! I order this every once in a while for an affordable and healthy-ish meal. Worth the price!

Great food, great service, great vibe! I love the big orange tree in the middle of the restaurant. I ordered the Langostinos al Ajillo (jumbo shrimp in garlic sauce) and it was soooo tasty. It came with white rice and french fries. The garlic sauce was really good, I would definitely order this again. I also got an arepa con queso on the side which was good, too. The portions are big, definitely really filling. I got a piña colada which was perfect. This will definitely be my go-to spot when I'm craving piña coladas. The noise level was fine, it wasnt loud or anything. We only had a 5 minute wait for a table. And the staff was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!

Ordered grilled chicken with fries and it was cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish it and took it home. Next day it was still good ! My gf had the Bandera Tipica and was very happy. The deep fried pork was tender. Service was also friendly.

Delicious food, excellent service- consistently good all around! You can't go wrong with anything you order on their menu. Love coming here on Sunday's... lovely ambiance, very familial, calm. The cazuela de mariscos came highly recommended by my boyfriend, and he was right! He thoroughly enjoyed his chuleta empanizado also. The sangria was strong and tasty. Buon apetit and cheers!

A solid authentic Colombian spot in Astoria ! My friend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon. Wasn't too busy. We were seated right away and the service was great. The staff were friendly as well. My friend recommended me to try the Bandeja Típica. Also came with a tasty sauce on the side. This was a very delicious dish and everything was cooked perfectly ! After venturing through other Colombian restaurants, I have to say that by far, this restaurant made the best food. The pork skin was nice and crispy, plantains were sweet and fresh, and the food wasn't too salty. Feeling so hungry, I devoured the whole thing. All of the food was seasoned well and I felt very satisfied after my meal. The portion was also huge for a very generous price. Would definitely return and try more items on the menu. Highly recommend !

Service is okay, staff are not very fluent in English. This is a chain restaurant and the vibe and design are the same ( cool orange tree in the middle of the restaurant). This restaurant feels like a family friendly space. The food is delicious but so so filling! The portions are huge so I would share with another person. I got the Bandeja Tipica, which is a deep fried pork dish, that also comes with grilled steak which I thought was too much ( I recommend sharing this dish), the beans seemed too liquidy, and I also requested yellow rice instead of white rice. Other than the dish being overwhelming, I liked the pork and yellow rice.

I professional and rude service. I am appulñed because I've been coming here for years and the way the manger treated me today he truthfully deserves to be fired. Ruined a new years dinner thankfully found an even better restaurant that I shall be taking my business to now

Placed an order on May 5, 2023 via grubhub. I ordered Fish Soup with came along with a side order of white rice and fish. As I started to eat my soup I noticed a hair in my soup, so I contacted grubhub and even suggested to send them a picture to show proof of the hair in my soup. I was issued a refund. I then receive a call at 2:45PM (approximately an hour after my claim with grubhub) from the hostess/ front desk lady reclaiming as to what happened with my order I then explained to her there was a hair only in my soup. She replied by saying the following "why didn't you call us directly?" Me: "Because I ordered directly through grubhub" Front Desk/ Hostess: "Well next time I suggest you call the restaurant first & also highly doubt that was even the case (insinuating there was no hair in my food.) it's okay, next time I'll just make sure you don't receive any food from us." *hangs up* The whole interaction was in Spanish but this restaurant most definitely needs a new front desk/ hostess. I typically order once a month from here and have never had an issue before with my food or the service but this lady must be new and needs to be taught on how hospitality works.

I always gave this place a 5 because the food was always delicious and the staff was always very warm and friendly. However, today was another story. We went out for lunch today, and we ordered our usual since it is always so good and hits the spot, but today, the food wasn't that good. I ordered my grilled pork chops, which are always fresh and juicy. The fish was salty and and it wasn't fresh, and it looked yellow on the inside. I tasted a tiny of the fish, and it wasn't fresh and super salty. My mom couldn't eat she ordered the bean soup platter, which was a bit sour. The pork chops aren't that good, and they were fatty and dry. We never had anything negative to say about the food, however today it wasn't an enjoyable experience, it feels like it wasn't the same cook as they always have, and the fries were not sames ones. I understand restaurants have ups and downs and this was the the first time this happened but we came back anyway and the food was delicious again because the cook was back. I worked in restaurants, and i know how it is and the costumer is always right, and we are the ones to bring revenue to the establishment. Anyway, what really threw me off and upset me was the manager's attitude and even had the ordasity to say we were trouble makers and always causing trouble. That was very rude and disrespectful. I hope the manager and owner reads this to listen to your costumers and don't mock them, and there were other people complaining that their food wasn't good nor fresh either which they also complained to the manager. But he wasn't one bit empathetic nor offered any solution to check what was going on. Only mock and insult the customers. We were regulars of this restaurant, but we don't see us coming back because of this manager's nasty, rude, mocking attitude. It's very appalling.

I've been here a few times. I typically get the same items because I'm constantly craving it. The Bandeja includes: rice, beans, fried egg, pork skin, sweet plantain, arepa, and avocado. It's SO good. The pork skin is crispy but still so good. The arepa con queso is DELISH. Although an appetizer is not needed, I often find myself getting it. The staff here isnt the best. They arent always attentive and lack any waitressing skills. They take your order and dont come back until the food comes out. After they drop off your food - GOOD LUCK getting them to the table. I make it my business to ask for everything I want and need right away to avoid the BS. I'll still be back here. The food is worth it.

Service was awful worse experience me and my wife have ever had never experienced this in other restaurants it felt racial profiling since why wife is white.. from my waiter and every waiter because no one came to help they just saw us there waiting on the table and acting like no one was sitting there knowing we needed to get served like 5 different waitresses pass by us all the time are waiter was always making faces and looking with a bad smart from at far knowing that we needed to be served it took 20 min to at least get offer drinks then after that another 15 to take are order after he saw me go to the front to complain he came running to are table to ask if everything was ok to take are order it would of been another 30min for or food while we kept seeing other people sitting by us come after us and get food and there drinks in under 4 min and great customer service right away with a smile after we where done I ask one of the waitresses if we can get a bag to go and the check that also was another 20 min Waite then they kept walking pass us bye are table knowing that I have ask for that and nothing until I got up again they come running asking if we need something because only I got up again thinking I was going to say something..I should of left from the first 15 min but this restaurant was recommended from a fried for they great food but service was awful

Love this place! Never disappoints! We got right to it so sorry no pics‍ What we got... 1 - Bandeja Tipica, this one is one of our go to. As usual my daughter enjoyed her dinner. 3 - Rotisserie chicken platters & they come with soup. The soup was so good plenty of chicken and not one of those greasy soups. I didn't care for the soggy fries but apparently they were just how my bro likes it... (Different strokes!!!) lol 1 - Yellow rice mixed with chicken, not my fave but luckily not my meal so as long as he liked it. 1 - Grilled chicken order, looked nice and juicy! My other bro ate it up!

I always love coming here. Came here last week around 8pm and happy to see the place wasn't super crowded. Like usual ordered the tyipical plate and a cola. I'm giving 4 stars because this place has a habit of giving the wrong bill on several occasions that I've been here. ::Bathroom Alert:: Clean but not super clean. Soap was well stocked and there was a lot of toliet paper. The waiter was very nice to my significant other and I. I would definitely come back to this location. I always recommend any typical plate because it is a mixture of everything, I loves me some avocado.

Poor experience! This use to be my favorite go to place. The woman at counter sitting down eating and greeted me by just "yeah".. I paid and she didn't even fully hand me my money she dropped it in my hands and walked away. The restaurant was empty! So sad that with restaurants needing business, to be treated so badly is insane. Once home and tried the chicken and it was dry, disappointed.

This is one of my favorite, reasonable cheap eat spots in all of Queens I come here a handful of times over the last five or six years, but each time I've never disappointed by the food portions and the taste of the food and the service staff is friendly, mostly Spanish-speaking, but they do understand and speak some English They've gotten a little bit more popular over the year so it's a little bit more crowded but the food is worth the wait very Colombian centric Spanish dishes. I had the breaded pork with plantains and rice and beans. Others in my party. Had the carne Asada steak with rice and beans the roasted chicken and deep fried fish washed it down with some soda refreshments. for four people it's alot of food and paid less than $85 not including tip. service was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place for families, friends, very calm, somewhat noisy atmosphere with music at night especially. a very good neighborhood eat spot to visit.

My sister had me try their Cazuela de Mariscos, omg delicious! It's a creamy seafood stew (served with rice). Their Seafood Paella is also delicious, not your Spaniard Seafood paella, they have their own zest If you're a seafood lover, go for it! You can't go wrong with their daily staple of arepas con cafecito, deelish! Waiters and staff are very kind and welcoming, a nobility which Colombians are known to be. Menu has lots of items but they have images for you to know what you're ordering. Que Rico!

If you're a fan of Spanish food/Latin food then you'll love this Colombian spot. I'm a regular here and it has the most consistent Latin food you can find in Astoria. The food is always fresh, the service is okay, there's usually more customers than a server can handle, but when the food is that tasty I'm okay with it. I recently has the "Bandeja Paisa" which is a staple Colombian dish consisting of, white rice, beans, beef steak, fried pork belly (chicharon) a small arepa and a healthy slice of avocados, yes enough to feed a small family... all for $16.50 (at this review). If you're ever undecided on where to eat and you're in Astoria, and you're kind of hungry, then you might want to head on over to this spot. The food is delicious the portions are awesome and there's always parking in the area.

I'm so disappointed in the service at this restaurant. I used to enjoy eating here but the attitude,hostility and service I received from the waiters here made sure I would never come back here again. The last visit I made here I was with my kid and the way I was treated made me feel humiliated and frustrated, I would never like to be treated in such way around anyone but especially not my kids. I ordered an extra plate of food so I could take with me and they threw it out. I received a lot of dirty looks from one of the female waiters and the waiter that was tending to my table rushed me and had a very bad attitude with me the whole time. If you are looking for a good dining experience this is definitely not where you would like to go.

The food here was really delicious! Customer service was on point. No long wait at all. I recommend anyone who loves Hispanic foods must come here of any other Pollos A La Brasa Mario Restaurants. Oh, I can I forget the Pina Colada, it was really great as well. I got the Pina Colada with liquor.

The food is amazing, the pricing is amazing! how are you giving 3 stars? it's a local, small place not a ciprani! if you want amazing service you will also have to pay 120$ for a roasted chicken plate, so let relax here. Delicious! Omg! The food is plenty and very delicious! My sister and I shared a 2 Entrees and was able to take food home! We were stuffed!! The pork belly is crispy and sinfully delicious! The their steak is seasoned to perfection and their chicken is oh so flavorful and oh so so good! I don't quite know the name of the seafood dish we shared but it's a must when I go back!!

I was craving a roasted chicken, and chose Pollos Mario since they offered free delivery. Got the rotisserie chicken platter, which includes a salad, consommé soup, abundant rice, and fries, for just $13.50! The chicken was amazing - seasoning was perfect, meat was so soft. Soup was delicious too, though note that it includes liver which isn't for everyone and I had to set them aside. Quick delivery - it arrived in 30 minute since ordering online.

If you know Steinway, you know there are so many small shops and exciting eateries all along the way, and this spot is no different! One of my wife's family go to's, she decides to introduce me, however there was one big difference.. she usually goes to Jackson Heights. This location still prevails, and is just as good, if not BETTER than the other not so far away location. The decor itself is like walking into a restaurant in a latin country. The colors, bright, the furniture, down to the staff dressed in all white. What throws it off if anything are the huge tvs. My only advice is, put the tvs away and let people engage eachother, also have the staff engage people more, maybe even with some Colombian history. We started with pacha(passion fruit juice) and a Colombiana soda(tastes like kola champagne, i was pleasantly surprised, if you dont know kola champagne either- get out more. Think sweetened lighter coke). The passion fruit is a big one for me in a lot of places, here it wasnt top, but it was pretty good. Now the food. The portion sizes are out of this world. My wife got a huge steak on a sizzling platter, it was ok, but I am never a fan of sizzling dishes. What I am a fan of is the Bandeja Tipica aka the typical plate aka the kitchen sink because its damn near the whole menu on a plate. Chiccharron, steak, fried egg, plantains, rice and beans, an arepa, who is supposed to finish that?? I absolutely did, with two plates to separate things. Great flavor, somehow even with all this, some egg yolk brings it together. My only qualms with this dish at all was the arepa was pretty dry and the rice was on the flavorless end, even tho I swapped white for yellow. I feel like it is not authentic yellow rice and they should dig a tad deeper for seasoning. We ended off with a Flan, and this was not my choice because its not really my thing, but in merely trying it I felt sick. Everything was great, but the Flan I will never touch again, maybe not anywhere. Thank you, we will return again in the future.

The food is AMAZING!!! I never got drinks here but this time I did and omg they were so worth it. Decent price, strong good drinks paired with amazing Colombian food it's a must. Definitely a family type of place but also for anything else. The waiters were attentive and friendly, I have been here now a total of 3 times and will continue coming.

After a big day of we eating, drinking and singing a big group of hungry yelper decides to eat in this restaurant because we were passing by and we saw the name and then we knew that they had some latino food over here. Is very hard for me being from the Latino population to give a Latin American restaurant more than 3 stars, because I always expect a great meal and excellent homemade food. My party was around 10 people, there were not a table big enough for all us, so we sat in two different tables, but there were next to each other. In my table we decided to have a small family style meal, so we did share a few platters. Bandeja Tipica: The platter contains a tiny arena, over medium egg, chicharron, steak, white rice, avocado, and platano maduro. The chicharon was very crispy, the white rice was very good and steak had a juice taste, everything else was good too. Yuca frita with chicken: a great additional for those who like yuca, very crispy and delicious, the chicken was very good. The servers are very fast and helpful. The prices are very good too, and the portion is very big.

I've been coming here for years, and food always tastes the same. That's one of the advantages of coming back. There will be no surprises. The decor is very traditionally Colombian using the facade of what the fincas look like. Place is always crowded, but rarely have I waited for a seat more than five minutes. Staff is very friendly and they make sure they bring your food promptly.

Never mind that the food has absolutely no taste. The over the hill gay waiter had more attitude than you would expect from a hole in the wall such as this restaurant. I almost had to remind the waiter that I was there to eat not to pick up overweight and old gay men. I mean this dude brought the food over and never came back. I wanted hot sauce, Limes and more water, but never had a chance to ask because i must have offended they waiter sensitivities. A couple of chubby waitresses walked by, we asked and they nodded yes but didn't bring the water. Look if i had the time and inclination i could pick up chicken cutlets and breaded it better than theses guys. To call this a restaurant tickles me. Now you know when you visit this place, sharpen your flirting skills if you expect service

This is what Blend thinks it can be, but then remembers it sucks at making Spanish food. Look, this place isn't the best, but when it's good it's good. And when it's meh, it's still worth it because you can get a huge plate for $13. Remember, if you're going to eat Spanish food, go actually eat Spanish food. I highly recommend the platters since you get to try so much on one plate for an an amazing price. And don't get a coke, get a Manzana and complete your meal.

Although this place has been considered an Astorian institution for the several years that I've called this part of town my "home"... I hadn't made the effort to visit the place until just this past weekend (at an attempt to entertain a cadre of guests who wanted to sample the local fare). I must say, this place was the perfect selection... large portions, easy seating for a sizable group (six of us were able to fit comfortably in a booth), and (most importantly) some extremely tasty food being dished out by a quick and friendly service staff. We walked in around lunch time, no reservations (don't even think they'd take any here), and was able to have the six of us seated straight away. Considering that the place bears "pollo" on its namesake, what better measure of this place's quality than to sample some of the goods that it proudly bears on its moniker. As such, the roast chicken (whole) was the first thing we ordered; additionally we ordered a seafood rice dish. I was very impressed with the serving sizes of both dishes; though we had some light bites some time prior to coming in to this place, we all still had decent appetites; luckily, the amount of food we ordered was perfect... though we cleaned off the plates, we were all still very satisfied by meal's end. The chicken had a nice lemon-y punch to it and came with a tasty red sauce (not too spicy, but added a nice kick). The seafood rice (very reminiscent of a paella, sans the sausage and the paella pan) was also presented in very attractive fashion. Luckily, it tasted as good as it looked; it had a very generous dose of crab, shrimp, clams, and other various shellfish mixed in (and had a bit of a coconut pang... not bad at all). It was my loss for making it so late to the game... but know that I know the folly of my past behavior, perhaps I can go about rectifying it with some extra visits in the near future.

I like this place. If you are starving, this is certainly the place to go to. My usual is bandeja paisa I believe with a jugo de mora en leche. I only had one really bad experience here years ago - I got the oxtail soup and it came with rice and a chickpea salad. The chickpea salad had stones in it!! I almost lost a tooth!!! I've never ordered that again. Their consome is amazing. Service is solid - they've had steady staff there for a while, which I always believe says something about management. They are able to accommodate large and small parties.

I cameback to this place after a year but nothing has change the servers lazy as olways they don't come to you, you have to call them to take the food order same thing when you finish and need to pay. They deserve maybe 5% of tip just because they take the order

You better know exactly what your ordering. If there's any room for interpretation your not getting the right food. Foods good when they get it right tho. Good luck rolling the dice.

After having been to Tierras Colombianas multiple times, I thought I'd give Pollos A La Brasa Mario a try since it always stuck out because of its bright red/yellow design on the corner of 41st Street, plus they had good reviews on Yelp. I came here on a Saturday and it was relatively crowded, but there were still seats available. The restaurant is very spacious and there are booths everywhere. There was a good mix of couples and families inside, but I can see how families love coming here due to the large food portions. The menu was quite large with a number of entrees on there, but we went with the most popular dish - The Country Platter. The platter was a hodgepodge of foods - Steak, Fried Pork, Egg, Corn Cake, Rice, Beans, Avocado and Sweet Plantains. Just staring at the plate made me full, as it was MASSIVE, but that's what I came for so was ready for this challenge! The overall platter was 'OK' compared to what I've had at Tierras Colombianas. The Fried Pork was extremely difficult to cut and chew, which sort of made it a turn off to eat. The steak was decent, flavored and chewy. The least attractive item was the corn cake as it was devoid of flavor and the texture was not appealing. The rest of the ingredients were what they were, so no qualms there. As for the service, it was a little slow, but it's not like we were in any hurry. Overall, I can't say Pollos A La Brasa Mario is a winner, but it's not the worst option out there. It definitely had a local, family feel to it with fair prices so I can see why it attracts many locals.

Good place to eat for lunch. I like their specials and they give you a lot with your order. We went on a Wednesday so we got the lentil soup of the day and fish filet special. The soup came with ribs, rice, and salad while the fish came with rice and potatoes. I subbed the potatoes for plantain tho. My only criticisms are their hot sauce is not hot and sometimes it takes a long time to get the waiter's attention for the bill.

Yall fell off hardddddd!!!!!!!.....came here a few weeks ago. We use to eat here alot! So we were in the mood for Pollos Mario's after not having it for at least a year and damnnn.....chicken was blah, rice was blah, french fries were so oily and looked like they had been stepped on and put through a blender. The rotisserie chicken cooking case/things GONE! We went in on a Saturday at 230 am.....now if ur familiar with pollos in Astoria, it's open 24/7 on the weekends and it use to be PACKED from midnight till 430 am (partiers after partying grub spot) ...well not anymore....there was not 1 table in here. We were shocked. Its usually like a party in there at 230 am on a Saturday!!!! I guess they just dont care anymore.....tu casa on steinway is way better, little more pricier and not open late like pollos Mario's but wayyy better. Pollos a la Brasa Marios you have fallen off ma man!

Used to really like this place. Haven't been in years. Stopped in on a Tues night. Ordered roast chicken, white rice. Flavor was off rice fresh (salty), chicken was not. Unfortunately, not a fan anymore.

This small unassuming Colombian diner was an awesome first food stop on our NY trip. Considering I never had Colombian food before, I was blown away to find that 1. It's really good and 2. There's a familiar home-cooked vibe about all the dishes. There are a lot of similar flavors you'll recognize from other cuisines and you won't be alienated by something that's too different for your palate. If you want a hearty home-style breakfast or lunch at a good value, this is the place to be. I think this was the most comforting comfort food I've ever had and yet the cuisine was new to me. Now that's talent. For starters, the decor and interior or the restaurant is very cute and it was clean as far as we could tell. The service was nice, at least to us and my aunty who spoke all our orders in spanish. The breakfast menu is not in the Yelp photos so I can't remember the exact dishes we got but all four of them were awesome. My aunty got a pork dish, I got steak eggs and some kind potato side, my bestie got a potato and egg scramble with beans and rice and my uncle had steak as well but prepared differently than mine. It was all so good. I want to go back right now. Hopefully I'll find something similar in Hawaii to satiate my taste for it but until then, this holds the Colombian comfort food crown for me.

If I could give them negative stars I would ! I have no words for the carelessness that's happening at this establishment. Now more than EVER should all restaurants be extra careful. I found this gross Insect as I started eating. I called and spoke to the manager, he offered me a refund and sounded as if this happens often. I have been eating from this place for so long and just to think about what else is going on in their kitchen, it makes me sick! I definitely do not recommend eating here at all. Most amazing Columbian food. We missed this place since we moved from Queens to Brooklyn. So, I decided to pay a visit to our favorite spot after 5 years. It's still the same with same charm and amazingly delicious food. The owner heard me tell the waitress how I couldn't find Columbiana anywhere in Brooklyn so he gave me a full bottle as a gift. I have and will continue to rave about this awesome restaurant. Come and experience amazing Columbian culture and food here.

Delicious food, LARGE portions and great prices. This place is a true hidden gem. Service is always so great. Get the whole chicken and a bunch of sides. Chicken is always juicy and delicious. Rice and beans are always well seasoned. You will be able to perfectly stuff four people - and probably have leftovers. All for under $20 a per person, which is a miracle in this city. Definitely recommend the Bandeja Tipica. SO MUCH FOOD. SO MUCH MEAT. All their steak entrees look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. This place can really be protein galore. Wash everything down with a pitcher of sangria. You won't regret it.

So I'm giving this places 1 star because I am a Colombian black male and every time I go there, is a blonde old lady always rude with me every time she sees me is like she won't me to go eat there.. at some point Im feeling some racism in this places because the servers will act differently when it's withe Colombian ppl going to eat there, and it's sucks coming from the same ppl from your country... I was there on Monday night and the same old lady was harassing me walking by and saying things in Spanish looking at me all the time and that's the reason of this review, also they took about 10 minutes just to pick up my plate and another 10 minutes just to give me the bill, it's really unacceptable this type of services. Pls train better your staff or next time I go there I will film everything and send it to the office of food protection to make sure they see what's been happening there with the servers and they way they act when there's no manager around... very sad that it has to be in a Colombian restaurant SMHH

I love to write about solid neighborhood restaurants. They are the backbone of the community. Great price. Good food. Very convenient. Pollos A La Brasa Mario fits this model in Astoria. Serving delicious rotisserie chicken. I have been to Pollos A La Brasa Mario a few times for eating in as well as take out. I have always had the same meal, their 1/4 chicken combo with rice, salad, french fries and consomme. Their rotisserie chicken is hands down delicious. Moist. Well season. Very flavorful. I have other chicken places that I love, but Pollos A La Brasa Mario does a consistent job with their cooking procedure for their chicken. Rice, salad and french fries are very standard sides. Standard white rice. Standard frozen fries. Standard romaine with shredded carrots. Actually very boring. Consomme, this is a HOME RUN. Outstanding to very outstanding. This was one delicious soup. Now, Mario's consomme is not your traditional clear broth consomme. This was one hardy soup. Packed with potatoes, hearts, chicken gizzards, white meat in a richly flavored broth. It was as good a soup as I ever had. Top 3 ever. Delicious. Overall, Pollos A La Brasa Mario is a go to place for some good chicken. It is very affordable meal for a 1/4 chicken combo: $6.95 for lunch and $9.50 for dinner. Chicken is always flavorful and moist. Yum.

I came here for the first time with my boyfriend and my boyfriend's Columbian friend. I am so glad we came here and I will defiantly want to come back frequently. I ordered the rice and shrimp platter. My boyfriend ordered a platter with ground beef, rice, beans, plantains, fried pork, avocado and french fries. The portions are huge!!!! I had to take more than half my plate home. The setting of the restaurant is well decorated and the music is very entertaining. The price is great for the huge portions. I will defiantly recommend and i will be back soon!
