"A little over a year after Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Mania hit America, the New Orleans-born fried chicken chain has quietly debuted chocolate-stuffed beignets, reports Foodbeast. While the new item is currently available in just a few locations, Popeyes says it will 'eventually' be added to menus nationwide. The New Orleans staple is a dessert of deep-fried pastry dough, doused in powdered sugar and served warm, sometimes stuffed with fillings or made with savory ingredients. Popeyes told Foodbeast the addition is a nod to its hometown, saying that 'As a brand from New Orleans we are always looking to bring new dishes' from the city to its menu. Where they are reportedly on the menu, at restaurants in and around Boston, Massachusetts, the fried-to-order beignets come in three-, six-, and 12-piece options for $1.99, $3.99, and $7.49, respectively (though prices may be different when they are added elsewhere)." - Clair Lorell

Eunice wasn't feeling so well so I asked her if she wanted pasta chicken or steak and she said you know I like chicken so I Googled Chicken close to me and Popeyes popped up so I went ordered and received good service and these are my photos

I usually go to this location and don't have many issues. But I finally decided to try the shrimp tackle box and I was so disappointed with what I was given. These didn't even look like shrimp, they didn't taste like shrimp. I even got a few where it was just the shell of the tail that was fried. Highly disappointed.

Pretty impressed with the service. Food came out within 5 minutes. Chicken and Cajun fries were hot and crispy! Came in pretty late and usually everything is soggy but to my surprise it wasn’t. Overall great experience!

The short Latina lady working now, black hair— may be the manger is rude, and unprofessional. You gave me someone else’s food that was in front of me. I came back to return the food and you gave me a nasty attitude, Unprofessional, disrespectful attitude. I kept telling you, the older gentleman, black gentleman, and his wife were in front of me and you gave me their food. You just ignored everything that I was saying, turned your back, slamming the food down on the damn table. Then you went right on helping the other customer, and even the other customer said she was disrespectful by ignoring me. I did the right thing in returning the food back to you guys to give to the right person. So, thank you to the other Latina lady, who looks like she was new there, for being professional and respectful. Then when I got to the car, the food that you gave me was old and uncooked. So I recommend nobody comes and eat here. This is my fault for not following the reviews that were left here, that explain how you wait forever, which is fine, but the food is not good. This lady needs to find a new job.

You usually only goes to Popeye Chicken for the food and expect bad service. But on the day I visit the 1630 VFW Pkwy, West Roxbury location, the regional manager was working and for a quick minute I thought I was at Del Frisco’s. Great customer service and well cook delicious chicken 😋 made this my best experience at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.

I found a HAIR in my popeyes biscuit and it most definitely isn’t mine I don’t have that kind of hair.. I usually have no problems but my fries came in cold too!! I wonder what’s going on in the kitchen!!

Google
Absolutely disgusting. Hair in the chicken and the amount of fries for a large looks like a small. The Cajun rice had no flavor whatsoever. Ridiculous for what we are paying for. Do not recommend the Popeyes here.

I think I would die if I try anything here. Just by looking at their fried food I feel nausea. I came here to pick up order for Grubhub. The staff attitude just like anywhere else you will find in fast food establishment. Service a bit slow as well.

Yelp
Oh, Popeyes Chicken in West Roxbury, you've got my taste buds doing a little dance with that spicy chicken sandwich! Let's dive into the love and the "almost there" for this spot. Now, that spicy chicken sandwich? It's the real deal, folks! The flavor, the crunch, and that spicy kick - it's like a symphony of deliciousness in each bite. It's safe to say that Popeyes has created one of the best chicken sandwiches out there. The juicy, tender chicken patty, paired with the creamy mayo and tangy pickles, is a taste sensation that's hard to beat. But (and here's the "almost there" part), the bread, my friends. The bread isn't toasted, and it can get a bit moist, which can be a letdown. A good, toasted bun would elevate this sandwich to a whole new level. It's a shame because it's the only thing holding it back. Speaking of soggy, the cajun fries share a similar fate. The flavor is on point, with that signature cajun spice, but the texture is often disappointingly soggy. However, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater! The rest of the menu at Popeyes is a flavor fiesta. The perfectly seasoned chicken, the buttery biscuits, and the zesty sauces - they've nailed it. It's just those minor details that could use some love and attention. In summary, Popeyes Chicken in West Roxbury is a must-visit for that phenomenal spicy chicken sandwich alone. It's a flavor explosion that's hard to resist. Just keep in mind the bread and the fries can be a bit underwhelming, but the rest of the menu makes up for it. So, go ahead and treat yourself to that chicken sandwich - you won't regret it!

Yelp
When you're looking for something quick, and that includes a fried chicken sandwich, I'd say Popeye's is one of the best around. We ordered via their app and picked up in store. Took about 15 mins for the meal to be ready, t'was a quick pick up, and we were on our way. Ordered the Classic Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Combo (3 Pcs), Red Beans and Rice, Homestyle Mac & Cheese. The chicken sandwich was just right. Crispy, tasty, and not too greasy especially for a fast food chain. Got the fries and biscuit with the chicken tenders and they were good but maybe it's just me, I always find the biscuit to be on the drier side. The Mac and cheese was underwhelming, would definitely not order again (maybe replace it with the slaw?). The rice and beans was a pleasant surprise, enjoyed it as a side. Otherwise the entire meal can be a little dry. The reason for one star less is look at the size of those sides. SO TINY. Very misleading. And it's not like a buck a side. Popeye's, you can do better.

Yelp
Waited approximately 20 minutes for a pick up order that was ready when I arrived. Ignored for 10 minutes, after which an employee finally acknowledges me, and I tell her I have a pick up. She points to the register and walks away. Me, not thinking it's ready yet, waited for another 10 minutes. I then slowly tell her the same thing again, after which she retrieves my order and apologizes. Wings had sauce on just one side. One of the three tenders was disgustingly undercooked.

Yelp
We ordered online for pickup and took advantage of some of their deals including a 5-piece signature chicken for 2 for 10.99. This comes with biscuits and fries. We also got chicken tenders, nuggets, and a chicken sandwich with sides of mashed potatoes and cole slaw. My order was missing a biscuit, but thankfully I checked before leaving and was able to get them. The fried chicken was crispy and the biscuits were soft and buttery. I would recommend getting the nuggets over the tenders because they seemed to be crispier while the tenders were on the softer side. The sauces weren't that great since they were overly sweet with all the high fructose corn syrup in them. The fries lost their crispness but still had some flavor to them. The mashed potatoes were smooth and had plenty of gravy that went along with each bite. Overall, if you decide to come here remember to check your order if you're picking up and stick to the fried chicken.

Yelp
Worst meal I've had in my life , haven't been to Popeyes in a while and I won't ever go again , garbage really , really bad .!

Leith S.

Yelp
I have to admit it. This is the only fast food business I patronize and I love their food. Spicy fried chicken and dirty rice rule. Also I probably could devour a bakers dozen of their biscuits , but have disciplined myself to only eat one.

Amanda C.

Yelp
Better than the Popeyes chicken I remember. Haven't had this in several years. The chicken tenders were huge and piping hot - very fresh tasting as it is also just after opening time too! Gentleman at Drive thru was very pleasant and nice.

Yelp
Was deciding on KFC or Popeyes... chose a Popeyes as closer to here I was going. Well hot day , figured eat inside ... doors locked , only drive thru open... ordered 4 piece combo and asked for some dipping sauce Well... here we go... cost was 14.35 The chicken tasteless, greasy. The wing looked like a canary or pigeon wing or a poor infant chicken that was killed after a week... so small ... why bother giving to customer...other chicken dark low grade quality... chicken must have been on diet pills or slim fast as the breast was minimal meat... now the biscuit was dry overcooked.... Could use as a door stop or hockey puck...side drink was coke... watery taste... mashed potatoes ok . Entire meal needed salt or pepper and no packets in the take out fork packet... the dipping sauce at the window she refused to give as additional charge... awful .... Never to return... KFC next time ... I hope Popeyes are not murdering chicken infants to supply these servings... do we abortion rules for chickens?

Yelp
We moved to the Boston area from Houston recently and were super excited to find Popeyes here. We placed an online order and made a mistake, and the manager was so friendly and helpful and made it right, even though it was our mistake. The chicken was just like we remember back home, juicy crispy and spicy. Definitely coming back!!

Lisa G.

Yelp
Just had dinner here and the chicken was spoiled! I tasted the spoiled taste immediately and brought it right back to the counter. They insisted that it was fine and offered to get me mild instead of the spicy. The thought of eating the chicken made me ill. I asked for a chicken sandwich instead. The sandwich was mostly breading. Totally gross! I ate two bites and tossed it. My kids also said that their food was terrible. As soon as I got home, I was violently ill. I will never return and I caution anyone who goes there. If it tastes spoiled, do not eat it! Management did not care and certainly did not remove the spoiled chicken. They simply kept serving it up! Literally sick while writing this!

Yelp
Have been to many Popeye's but this is the most disorganized place I have ever been. They're always out of sides. They have literally misplaced people orders while I was waiting in line for my orders.

Yelp
The food here is disgusting Even the pies the chicken is medium rare and half of its is cold and other isn't and the biscuits are the only thing that is acceptable. The service is horrible because they gat every order wrong and I wish I could give this 0 stars. The ambiance is horrible that I can describe every part chairs have chicken and pie crumbs all over it even the tables it is so disgusting even the bathroom the door feels loose but it looks kind of clean but still dirty. The summary I think this place is the worst and I think they need to be fired or retrained because of the service and I can't deal whit the lack of training, responsibility, respect, cleanliness and that equals 0/10 wish that this place can just be illegal

Yelp
This has got to be the absolute worst popeyes that I have ever been in; I have been there twice, and both times the service was absolute garbage. The first Time I went inside, since the drive thru line was so long. the manager was standing there screaming and cusssing out the staff (in spanish) and could have cared lest that customers were watching her. The second time I thought I would give them another try and it was even worse; I waited a hour to get my food and they got the order wrong, and to top it off the only person that spoke english was the manager. This store needs to be closed down and everyone retrained...... stay away. for corporate reference; Popeyes # 13126 ( 4-27-21 / 12:31pm / T=00L / I=3 / C=300 )

Yelp
Can't explain the 3 poor reviews ahead of mine but I hope those folks never come to this location again, that way the drive through line will move faster for me and others who appreciate: fast and accurate order taking, damn near instant order fulfillment, good quality food at a more than fair price. Cheap shots at Spanish speaking staff are more a reflection on racist customers than on the quality service that is provided. How do I know? I've sold real estate in West Roxbury (closest neighborhood) for over 10 years, I know all the code words. The only fair criticism is that signage could be better.

Carol J.

Yelp
Service in the drive thru was awful. No greeting on the intercom just "Popeyes ". Yes I know I am at Popeyes . Ordered food from someone who acted like I was annoying her. Got to the window where I presented her with a coupon code that would have taking some money off of my 10 piece bucket she told me the code would not decrease the order and it would be the same. Why I believed her I don't know. Figured they knew more than I do. I was wrong after I checked my receipt and was paying full price. Figured out that she just didn't want to have to do the bill over. Awful service. Probably will not go back. Chickens not as good as Chick fil a.

David D.

Yelp
This location has been a drive-thru only since it opened during Covid. Though the chicken sandwich is the best around, the drive-thru is SLOW. If the car line extends into the street, it will take about 45 minutes to get food as they're clocking in at around five minutes per car on a good day. If you get hangry, good luck with your road rage management exercises. I hope the deep-breathing techniques are working for you. Just keep telling yourself that because of the pandemic, businesses had a hard time staffing, so the wait is just the consequence of two years of strain. I will admit it is fun to watch the world burn as, inevitably, you are sitting in the drive-thru line and other people park thinking they're being SO smart by just going inside to order only to find the door locked. The dejection on their faces is priceless as they have to take that walk-of-shame back to their cars realizing three or four more cars have settled into the line while they were being clever. Now what will you do--stay or go? Anyway, as I've been writing this, I've moved up two car lengths! (in 10 minutes)...
