Popi’s Restaurant - Review - South Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Popi’s looks like one of those big event spaces you see on the side of the highway in New Jersey - the ones that people rent out for a retirement party or a tacky prom. But that’s exactly why we like it. It’ has two floors of tables with white tablecloths and carpeting that was installed in the ’80s, and the food is classic, red sauce Italian. It will definitely do the trick after a Sixers game where your only options were cotton candy and microwave pizza." - Sydney McElwee

"Popi’s is a favorite among the South Philly set for its old school Italian pastas, veal dishes, and seafood. No need to BYO here: The spacious restaurant has a full bar and wine list. Keep an eye out for nights when there’s live entertainment." - Sarah Maiellano

An excellent Italian restaurant. The olive oil served with the bread is outstanding, and the eggplant dish is both creative and delicious.

Food was excellent and great wine menu. I loved that they had parking and it’s beautiful indoors. I got the chicken saltimbocca it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back.

Had a great dinner with family at this restaurant. When we first walked in we were worried we were dressed too casually, coming straight from the airport. But many there were dressed to go to the baseball game at the stadium nearby. The portions were good sizes and they brought us tasty bread and olive oil when we asked. Would go here again when in town.

Great food. Went with the family and we all enjoyed. Portions were of good size and atmosphere was great.

My family and I had Easter brunch here and the staff was so accommodating. I have celiac disease and I am so anxious when attending any events at restaurants. The host/manager (I’m unsure of who I spoke to on the phone , sorry!) was so considerate and kind to me . The food was amazing! I felt fine after dining here and the service was exceptional. We had a wonderful time! We are looking forward to coming again. Thank you for making our Easter so great!

Google
Just discovered this place after all these years. It was recommended by people from the Phillies organization. Had a great lunch, great service and free parking! Appetizers were delicious, mussels, fried calamari, and shrimp. Main course was grilled chicken and shrimp. Will try the blackened version next time will also plan for dinner. I recommend this place.

Google
Service wasn’t bad so no issues there. Food was terrible. Pasta was under cooked, my fiance is actually throwing up because something didn’t agree with her stomach, dad’s meal he couldn’t even stomach. I am not sure if it is because of the holiday and they just couldn’t handle the volume or if it’s this bad every time. I will never go there again.

I booked a table for Mother's day brunch and didn't have the greatest experience. I was told at the time of booking that they would take a 50.00 deposit and we would be given a gift card back for 50.00. No problem. We get there and are seated. We get up and go to the buffet and a whole other family was seated at our table.🤣 The lady even drank my mom's water! The staff moved the family and apologized....fine. The first thing my father went for was the chicken parm. He lifted the lid to find one lonely dry chicken cutlet. The staff apologized and immediately replenished the hotel pan. The rest of the food was very mediocre honestly. Not terrible but just underwhelming. My daughter and I ordered expresso martinis and they were very bitter. Heavy on the expresso not enough sweetness and it was honestly hard to finish. The stuff pork loin was dry, like it had been sitting for a while. I'm only leaving a review because we went to a five star restaurant on Friday and the bill was less expensive than our dinner at this establishment. We had a table of five and the bill was 420.00 for a buffet with gratuity included. We were also charged an additional 12.00 surcharge which we were confused about. They ended up not taking the 50.00 deposit and there was no gift card so that was confusing at the end also. We are not cheap people. We enjoy spending money in the neighborhood establishments, that's not the issue here. The price was very high for a very mediocre experience. I have been here many times in the past.I even had my wedding dinner here, but we definitely won't be returning. The staff were accommodating and the atmosphere is pretty, but the food definitely needs more creativity. You can always tell when there is love added into a dish. This was not it.

Yelp
Went for lunch today for my daughters graduation. Party of seven. And I got to say that the food and service were outstanding. Prices were reasonable. Pasta was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Before going to the 76ers, we decided to have dinner at Popi's. We made reservations since it was a Friday night. We were greeted by two friendly hostesses who sat us immediately. Our server was friendly and accommodating. We ordered a few cocktails followed by a Mediterranean salad, Chicken Alexander and veal picante. We shared the Mediterranean salad and it was a protein packed delight. Atop the fresh romaine was albacore tuna, shrimp, grape tomatoes, roasted peppers and hard boiled eggs, yummy. My entree was the Chicken Alexander which was chicken, artichoke, mushrooms and broccoli in a white wine sauce. I ordered my pasta on the side. The entree was good but not memorable. My husband's veal picante was quite the same good for the moment but easily forgotten. Overall, our dining experience was pleasant and comfortable.

Yelp
Wow! How can a restaurant screw up so badly in one setting? Tried this place for first and last time. Ambiance was awesome so I thought ok good deal! Bread came out of cold fridge so we asked for it to be warmed. Calamari appetizer was good but sauce was mediocre. The chicken Alexander was the only highlight of the meal. The chicken parm was ok but the sauce was lacking. The spaghetti was on dry side and sauce needed CPR. The kids grilled chicken had both overcooked and undercooked pieces. They had to go back. The side of Brussels sprouts tasted like they cleaned the grill with them. Other than the good company the meal was a total washout. Go for drinks and appetizers ONLY! That way you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great dinner & drinks, highly recommend. Arrived about 7:00, sat at the bar for a round of drinks, then headed to hostess table at 7:25 (reservation was for 7:30), was immediately seated. Our server was Elisa, took very good care of us from start to finish, never and empty glass. Wife had the Filet special, 3 x 3oz filet piece's served different ways, all cooked perfect (Med) and full of flavor. I had the homemade Gnocchi's, but instead of the usual sauce, I asked for the vodka blush, it did not disappoint. I had to take 1/2 home, because it was so filling, lunch for tomorrow. Would recommend, good food, clean, good atmosphere, pricing was good as well. Enjoy!

Tony S.

Yelp
Went for a family event and the bread was stale my steak was very over done and it was supposed to be medium ( how does that happen) now the bar ... was told that there was only 2 ultras couldn't get a mix drink because they didn't have what I wanted but n the back room , when there is a bar up front !!! I wouldn't go back nor refer anyone

Yelp
The ambiance is great. The staff & service was the best! Now let's get into the food. I had a French martini..shaken not stirred and it was delicious. I was tempted to order a 2nd one. The crab cakes were filled with jumbo lumps of crab meat and seasoned perfectly. The roasted pepper mashed potatoes were surprisingly tasty and again, seasoned perfectly. I definitely recommend Popi's!!

Yelp
Overall, Popi's lived up to the expectations I had for a classic Italian-American dining experience. The service--attentive. The food--above average. The atmosphere--well, dated, if I'm being honest, and not in a way that would give the place an old-world charm. Popi's isn't my first choice for Italian in South Philly, but its location for a post-game meal makes it a solid contender.

Yelp
I like the atmosphere, quite nice environment, friendly staff and the food was great. We all went home happy tummy. Thank you!

Yelp
This place is truly the quintessential neighborhood Italian treasure. The food is great. The prices are fair (fare)! The menu is filled with every Italian dish you could imagine. If it's not on the menu, ask your waiter or waitress, and I'm sure they'll come up with something that you will love! Our waitress was new, I think her name was Gloria. She did a terrific job, with a very difficult table. Everyone wanted everything their way, and with a smile, she did everything she could to accommodate. They also have their own entertainment. I kid you not, the guy's name was Vic Rubino and I only know this because right behind him was a neon sign that said his name was Vic Rubino! He had a sparkly jacket and a microphone that looked like Elvis used it. I swear if you closed your eyes, you'd think Jerry Vale is singing and you could hear Ray Liotta narrating the entire night! Joe Pesci would be afraid to walk in here because, "God Forbid something should go wrong!" JOKING! I'm joking! This is a wonderful place. Very crowded for all the right reasons. Get reservations and bring lots of friends!

Yelp
Delicious food and very quick service. Crab cake special and vodka chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta.

Yelp
Had their crab cake, phenomenal!! I don't really eat them but I tried theirs and fell in love with them. Service was so pleasant and it was a beautiful restaurant

Yelp
if I could eval in the minus numbers I would. The young woman at the reception desk did not say one word to us but when we said we had a reservation just took two menus and started walking, NEVER said a word to us. led us to a table and walked away. I asked for bread and olive oil and it came to us in a basket wrapped in a cloth napkin. It was COLD, why serve bread like this? my chicken parm was VERY overcooked as were my friends food. It was hard as a rock and burned crust around the edges. no telling how long it was in the kitchen. ABSOLUTELY never go near this place, terrible food, awful service and not a nice atmosphere. Avoid this place like the plague.

Yelp
I dined here for the first time yesterday evening with two friends, we felt that the food, service, and ambiance was five star and would definitely return there again.

Yelp
I was concerned when I saw the low rating for this restaurant. But I was totally blown away by the service and food. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful and checked on us several times to make sure we are ok. My friend and I shared the fried calamari which has a light batter and very tender inside. It is served with marinara sauce. I had the white wine garlic clams and a side of sautéed spinach. Both were excellent. The clam sauce is super tasty. It has sliced kale and herbs. I soaked up the sauce with bread. Spinach was sautéed with oil and bacon. My friend had the special: crab cake. It came deep-fried. It looks good. However, I would prefer it to be grilled instead. I definitely want to go back to try vongole and other dishes.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Everything was perfect in our recent visit: the bread, the Popi's salad, the linguini with mussels, the gnocchi. Friendly and attentive service. The restaurant had its own parking lot (not a given in the city). Popi's has been here for 30 years but, for whatever reason, this was my first visit. It won't be the last!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always solid. The service is always friendly and meets expectations. The space is really nice. No one thing, at least in my experience, sticks out as especially great or especially bad.
google avatar

Yelp
Randomly discovered this place. Tried the extra specials on the menu. 3 filets in one meal with different toppings on them, I couldn't resist, and they came out in the right temperature. Potatoes were really good. Husband tried the Red Snapper. He liked it, but that's all I got. It was his first time trying that fish. Overall it was a decent place. Might go back to try the mussels, drinks were average. For the price, pretty sure I could get better food.

Bob J.

Yelp
Went here yesterday for Thanksgiving. It's a very large nice dining room. The food was very good and very friendly service.

Raymond D.

Yelp
We were excited to go because of the old school Italian reputation. Everyone was very friendly but the food was mediocre. My order was wrong but it was still something I'd eat so I didn't bother sending it back. Our server didn't have much experience and we waited longer for our check than for our food. I hate to give a bad review when the employees are nice but the overall experience wasn't what we expected.

Yelp
Outstanding Italian food. Great service and unique setting in Philadelphia. Such a pleasure to dine in a family run restaurant!

Yelp
I was a little worried with the 3.5 stars but it is clearly better . Our waiter , Anthony , was excellent . Nice guy. Great south Philly feel. The place is very clean and the menu is small but our food was very good. Chicken Siciliana was really well prepared and the side of pasta was perfect. Also loved the poppy's salad. My partner loved his pasta dish. No complaints . Maybe toast the bread would be my only comment .

Yelp
We had a luncheon here in one of the private banquet rooms for about 30 people. The food and service were bith excellent. Green salad, rolls and butter, a basic penne marinara pasta course followed by a choice of 2 entrees. Crab cake or Chicken Marsala. Both were delicious. Super creamy (was it homemade?) Vanilla ice cream fir dessert. Sounds like no big whoop, but it was soooooo rich tasting. I put some in my coffee. Very good coffee, too. Rob (server) and the young lady at the door were very kind. I would definitely come here for dinner or plan a special event here. Plus they have their own parking lot. Great!

George S.

Yelp
Six of us had dinner here. The spaghetti with mussels was filling. The chicken parmigiana was huge with pasta on the side. The shrimp with pasta was very tasty. Two people had the ravioli which was excellent. The service was great excellent and the food came timely. Close to the stadiums.

Yelp
I have never been or ever heard of it until my friend took me here got lunch it was outstanding the food was so good and the restaurant itself was really very nice in fact we were going to eat there yesterday and it was closed for vacation so disappointed

Yelp
Great little stop! Was recommended to us by family before we flew out of town. We orders the arugula salad, mussels in linguini, filet, chicken Alfredo, and shrimp fra diavlo. Our server was timely and very nice. The food was delicious with sizable portions. The atmosphere was welcoming on multiple levels from a date night to our family dinner. There was live entertainment in the bar area which was a plus. Great Chianti selection!

Yelp
Forgot how great the restaurant is as to food and bonus .. the location (big parking lot guys for those hate tight south philly) we did easter brunch & it was exceptional a bit pricy as im not huge big eater in one sitting but such tasty abundance of food !! & even more the place has a nice touch of class to the venue!! I noticed they have a happy hour weekdays & even music on occasion... again was a fav for years esp famous for their crab cakes i drifted away but this is up st top of my list esp to bring friends along!

Yelp
I recently picked up some family style platters of gnocchi and chicken picante and they were both received with repeated praise. I called last minute, due to a death in the family and they could not have been more accommodating if they tried. The food was delicious, the woman that answered the phone was a sweetheart, and everything was ready and waiting at my agreed upon arrival time, which was within the hour! I have had takeout from here previously during Covid and everything has been excellent. Go here, you won't be disappointed.

Michael G.

Yelp
Great place , we had a large group for a work lunch, good was quick and very good. I would highly recommend Popi's due to its location and off street parking. A real south Philly Italian restaurant with great atmosphere.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
After going to a Phillies game, we checked this place out for a meal after the game. It's close to the stadium. They have a huge parking lot, which is a huge plus as street parking was nonexistent. For a party of 5 on a Saturday night at 7pm, there was a short wait but not bad. Ambiance is old school Italian with linen table clothes/napkins, cloth bound menus, large fountains, and ornate furnishings. I will admit in my Phillies shorts, shirts, and sneakers, I felt a bit under dressed for such a formal place. There was also only 1 bathroom (stall) which led to a long bathroom wait, which is odd considering how large the place was. Service was good though not great. Our waitress was quick to take our orders and bring out the appetizers but then sort of disappeared. Menu has the standard Italian classics from penne a la vodka, chicken parm, and veal marsala. Prices range from $15-30. Full bar, specialty cocktails, and large wine list also avail. Good size portions as well. I split an arugula salad ($9) w/shaved Parmesan to start. Good salad with a nice lemon vinaigrette dressing. We split the zucchini pasta w/mozzarella and tomatoes ($19) which was one of the summer specials. Dish had good seasoning though felt like it was too much tomato and not must zucchini pasta. Some of others had more issue w/their food as the gluten pasta wasn't cooked enough and had to be sent back. The lamp chops looked good so Popi's might do a better job on the meats. All in all - it was a solid after game meal!
google avatar

Gavin S.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the bolognese sauce was very good, but not excellent like I was expecting. Would have been much better if the paste was homemade. The service was pretty slow, which was shocking considering that only half the restaurant was open. Staff was very nice and accommodating, but not worth the trip from center city.
google avatar

Lorence C.

Yelp
Popis restaurant was the perfect stop for my Wife and I. We were looking for some real nice Italian food and we definitely found it at Popis. The restaurant is immaculate and the decor is stunning. The staff was just unbelievable from the hostess to the waitress and obviously the Chef. The food was just Dynamic. We were greeted immediately and seated immediately as well. Our waitress came for drink orders in a very reasonable time and promptly returned with our drink order and took our appatizer order. We didnt wait long for the apps to arrive and they were simply Amazing. We had Crab cakes which were out of this world. We had several other apps which were equally delicious. I had the Filet Trio for a main course and I can not remember a time where I enjoyed a Filet as much as I did. My Wife raved about her dinner as well. I would most definitely recommend this established restaurant to any of my friends and family. We will definitely be returning as it may be our new Favorite restaurant in the city. Thank you guys for an Amazing evening.

Yelp
Popi's is pretty much your quintessential South Philly Italian establishment. Top words that come to mind include traditional and homestyle. I dined there recently with a group of about 10 people. Now I'm not Italian, but I felt like I was getting in on that "Sunday dinner" concept. It was a great place for a group meal! Now our reservation was pretty early in the evening, but we ended up with a large table and a "private" room. Had it been more crowded, and later, we probably wouldn't have dined privately, but it was a pretty nice set up. Our server was very friendly but a little quirky. She made a few harmless comments that were a little odd. She meant well and had an Italian charm so I can totally look past that. So apparently, I ate at Popi's years ago and then managed to order the same thing last night. What can I tell ya? If there's lamb chops on the menu and a veal dish with eggplant, I just have to have it. The lamp chops were prepared medium and came out on a nice bed of arugula. The sauces dripped over the arugula acting as a very savory and delicious dressing. I split the chops with my husband. If you are really hungry, don't split the chips since there are only four and they aren't super huge. The Veal Cecilia was another good call. The dish was sautéed veal medallions topped with slices of eggplant, tomato, mozzarella cheese served in a white wine basil and garlic sauce. It's nice to have veal dish that combines both eggplant and a white wine sauce. I feel eggplant usually gets prepared in a red sauce. I opted for penne as my side. We split a few bottles of wine for the table, which were pretty reasonably priced around $30. I had a solid, traditional Italian meal in a relaxing and welcoming setting great for a group. I'm a fan, Popi's.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Nice ambience, excellent food in a easily accessible location plenty of parking which is unusual for South Philly.

Yelp
We (my wife and another couple were heading to a concert at Wells Fargo the other night and we had no idea where to eat. I randomly selected Popi's based on reviews and proximity to the Wells Fargo Center. A. All staff were very friendly and polite. B. We were seated immediately. C. The food was fantastic, with one exception. D. The desserts were amazing and the coffee and espresso strong and delicious. The food: eggplant parm, frutte del mare, chicken parm, rigatoni bolognese, Italian hot peppers and fried calamare. Everything was fantastic except for the bolognese which was a little bland and we think it was just beef and not the mix of meats (beef, veal, pork) that we are used to. Overall though, everything was hot, delicious, served in a timely manner and we all enjoyed. Then, after we left, my phone rings and its the restaurant..."You left your credit card here." We were literally two blocks away! Quick turn around, reteieved my credit card and off to the show. What restaurant is THAT diligent?! Anyway, now we all love this restaurant and will be making it our regular spot when we go to Philly!

Eric S.

Yelp
Yelp ratings were a little lower than I'd typically go for, but I was staying near the airport and didn't want to go downtown. Nice atmosphere and a lounge singer was performing on a Saturday night. Service was pretty good, not great. I got the filet with a side of broccoli rabe. Filet was cooked well and the fried (basically burnt) onions with it were a good balance. Steak could've used more seasoning. Had never had broccoli rabe but another reviewer said it was great. It's more like Turnip greens. It was pretty good but not my favorite thing ever. $10 seems kinda steep for a side. Mashed potatoes were also good, not great. Mixed veggies were really good. Lemon marscapone cake was pretty good but kind of a small portion.

Ricki J.

Yelp
I attended a private affair there. The food was fabulous. They started with very tasty antipasto with a big variety of tasty treats. This was followed by a Caesar salad which was very crispy and a pasta dish. The main course was either filet mignon or chicken parmesan with perfect mashed potatoes and an assortment of vegetables and some garlic spinach. I had the filet mignon and it was done perfectly. We ended with coffee and a cannoli that was so good. Besides the wonderful food I was especially impressed with the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating and also very efficient. And all of my requests were done quickly. The staff added to the enjoyment of the evening.

Yelp
I grew up near by and have many people addicted to Popi's. I take all sorts of business travelers there, or I send them when I can't go. My family and I know Italian food, and between the food, atmosphere and actual ease of parking, it's as good as it gets. My go-to meal is always veal, but some co-workers are addicted to the pasta. Crowning achievement is taking travelers from Italy to Popi's. They are blown away that the food is legit, as they are typically critical of anything in the USA we call food. They really enjoy Popi's.

Chris C.

Yelp
Today was my daughter's college graduation, we initially had reservations for 10 at 1:45pm, next thing you know we have a party of 21 and the graduation was over at 11:30am. I call Popi's to see if they could accommodate 21 and if we could show up an hour early. After a brief hold I was told that wouldn't be a problem. We show up right around 12:15, our tables were set and ready to go. Our waiter and waitress were absolutely phenomenal. Our meals all came of extremely quick (for a party of 21) everything was hot and beyond delicious!!!!! Thank you guys for having us and making this experience a memorable one.

Yelp
OMG! I made a reservation because I heard that this place rocked! We ordered Veal Scaloppine and the chicken Cecilia. The appetizers were lamb chops and the eggplant stack. Wonderful choices. We heard about this young man from someone very close to me so I decided to check him out. I made sure he was working and we asked for him specifically. Well, we were not disappointed because from the moment we sat down he had our attention as he slowly and eloquently told us about the specials. The food was delicious but the service was magnificent! I wholeheartedly recommend Popi's. Who is this guy VINCENZO?
google avatar

Iris S.

Yelp
Close to the airport, I have stopped by here for dinner during a quick lay over to see my philly bestie. This place reminds me of my home town I. Jersey. The architecture is grand and old achool Italian. The lawn that lines the parking lot has that mulch smell. Food wise, their house salad is fresh. Their eggplant rollitini is perfect. The sauce is not too sweet or salty. The chicken parmigiana is perfectly thinly pounded and lightly breaded. The only thing that could make this meal better would be fresh pasta. Portions are heavy so we weren't able to get dessert but will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Pope's restaurant is still serving excellent food on their take out menu with free delivery and lowered discount prices during COVID-19. What a great thing to have one of our finer restaurants in South Philly serving their community with great food and great prices. Thank you Popi's and their staff for good food as always. Curb side pick up or free delivery! Awesome

Yelp
Pass. To start with the positives, this place is located in a prime spot with ample parking throughout. It's very close to all the sports complexes, making it highly accessible for a pre and/or post game rendezvous. It's a new-ish building and the aesthetics are pleasing and clean. There's a casual/upscale vibe with an all around traditional Italian motif. There are two entrances, either the main "restaurant entrance" or the through the "banquet entrance" each opening up to a parlor type area before splitting to their respective style seating. We were seated in the large banquet hall in the back. The area was clean and well lit, with plenty of space for everyone. As far as the food was concerned - not much accommodation was made for vegetarians. The kitchen seemed to be sticking to established recipes and not delineating - I found this to be the biggest sticking point. I think some modifications could've been made so everyone could enjoy their dinner. I ended up with a plate of grilled vegetables for my "entree" - umm....thanks. The vegetables were palatable but nothing spectacular. I think the restaurant could've at least made some modifications to their panchetta infused pasta in order to make it veggie friendly - would've appreciated this moreso than a "entree" of sides. I did find one server that was very helpful. During dessert, instead of the tiramisu (which had eggs), he was able to come out with an ice cream sundae - hit the spot nicely! I wish he took care of my order from the beginning, could've been a better dining experience. Overall - I would probably pass on this place given the experience. It's a shame since there is a ton of potential!

Yelp
We went to popi for our anniversary tonight and where not disappointed as usually. We had crab cake as and appetizer still the best around. and then veal Di Marie and Gnocchi both outstanding !!! Only thin I was a little upset at was no more tiramisu this tells you how good it is here when you run out of something. I had Creme Brûlée instead still outstanding on its own. Also I must say the Dip for bread olive oil combo was outstanding this was 1st time we had this here wow just wow my wife ate more bread tonight then the whole 9 years of marriage. Lol. Thank yo again poppi for a great experience and will be back again.

Yelp
I took my boyfriend here for his 30th birthday last night, and it was a wonderful evening. They decorated for the holidays, and we were seated by a gorgeous, lit up Christmas tree. (I appreciated the irony since he and I are both Jewish)lolz! The Pinot noir I ordered was smooth and flavorful. We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer which was tasty. The normal bread basket they put out before hand came with this amazing dip made of high quality olive oil, onions, and a few other herbs and vegetables. For my entree I ordered the chicken Nicole. The prosciutto and mozzarella along with the blush sauce penne took me straight to Flavor Town (to quote Guy Fieri). My boyfriend ordered veal Marsala. The sauce had a rich slightly sweet component to it. Very good! The servers were wonderful as well. They came around often enough to make sure we were taken care of, but didn't hover around too much . Perfect balance . And they were super friendly! At the end of our meal, one server came by and offered to take our picture by the Xmas tree. Very sweet, and a great way to cap off our wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Popi's for special occasions, or for whenever you want to treat yourself to authentic Italian cuisine in a classy and welcoming establishment.

Yelp
First of all, the food is delicious. I don't know where the other guy ate the crab cakes, but at Popi's there is no filler, just all crab meat. Everything was great. I do have 3 complaints though. 1) the server refused to tell us the prices of the specials and asked "which one"? That is not a good trait for a server. 2) The server hit me in the back of the head with one of the plates while behind me, and 3) the charge of $1.50 to cut the Birthday cake that we brought in ourselves. We had a server and could have cut it ourselves. We even brought our own plates and forks. That nickel and dime stuff isn't necessary since you are charging high prices for dinner. That is just not good customer service!!

Yelp
Excellent food and service, very relaxing atmosphere. The stuffed rigatoni was delicious, as was the salmon and chicken marsala.

Yelp
Came here after a show and the environment was great and our waiter Vincenzo was awesome and fun! We got so many apps ( long hots, spinach Waldorf salad, bruschetta, and eggplant rollotini,)all of them were pretty good we finished it all lol. The complimentary read could have better. For entrees, I got the salmon topped with crab special it was good but not out of this world salmon was bland but the crab saved the dish. I got a side of asparagus with balsamic and that was delicious! My mom and aunt split the filet trio special and they loved it. Cousin got a Caesar salad and she was not a fan. For dessert I got the chocolate mousse cake and it was amazing and my aunt got creme brûlée and was tasty!

Yelp
This place isn't good at all. The pasta sauce is always gross in taste it tastes bitter to me. Not that good at all the the chicken parmesan is so soggy it just was not good at all.

Yelp
We enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight at Popi's. Our server was wonderful! She had a great knowledge of the menu and made excellent recommendations. We started with the eggplant rollantini. Two generous slices of eggplant stuffed (and I mean stuffed) with ricotta and spinach and topped with the best marinara I've ever tried. Delicious! The salad was very unique. Roasted carrot salad with radicchio and romaine, topped with pine nuts and drizzled with oil and balsamic vinegar. Fabulous! And a very generous portion. My husband ordered the fruite di mare. Heat of the dish was perfect. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. My dish was salmon wrapped in parchment paper and topped with fresh steamed veggies. So good! Creme brûlée was wonderful and the homemade peach shortcake was probably the best dessert I've ever enjoyed in a restaurant. Wonderful experience. We look forward to returning!
