Wow! What a treat to discover a truly unique restaurant nestled within a beautiful 100+ year old Cleveland home. From the moment my friends and I arrived, we knew we were in for a special experience. We started our evening at the outdoor bar, where the bartender graciously took the time to explain and recommend various gin selections when I inquired. His knowledge and helpfulness set a welcoming tone for the evening. Before being seated, I took a stroll through the outdoor garden, and it was simply amazing. The variety of plants, from strawberries to even a lemon tree and stunning tall purple allium, truly impressed me. The menu was small, which I actually appreciated as it made deciding much easier for someone as indecisive as me! For an appetizer, we shared the biscuits with lavender honey butter, which were absolutely delicious. For our main courses, I opted for the Poppy burger, my husband enjoyed the fire-roasted zucchini, and our friends raved about the cobia (fish). Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with incredible flavors. To cap off the meal, we indulged in several dessert options, with the strawberry pretzel salad being the undeniable highlight - a must-try! While the entree sizes were a bit smaller than I'd hoped and drink prices were a tad higher than what I'm used to, these minor points certainly weren't deal-breakers. The overall experience was fantastic. The true highlight of the evening, however, was when Jessica, the owner, stopped by our table to chat. She was an absolute delight, and her warmth made the evening even more memorable. We will definitely be back to this Cleveland gem!

We had a great meal, friendly-attentive service and the outdoor seating was nice. After a nice glass of wine and a cocktail We started with wood fired focaccia and strawberries appetizer that included burrata to spread. It was very fresh. I had pan seared duck breast with jasmine rice and orange/rhubarb sauce. Very flavorful. My wife had grilled Cobia, which she enjoyed because it was a mild fish and flaky. While we had plans for dessert, we almost changed them because the dessert menu looked so good….dark chocolate crème brulee, key lime napoleon, Poppy’s banana cake, and fresh strawberry dish. We look to go back. Plenty of on street parking, an outdoor bar and plenty of seating inside and out

Every plate was absolutely delicious, staff was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. They definitely craft the perfect bite here. We had the sausage appetizer, duck breast main, and a chocolate pudding-like dessert that was amazing. Cocktails were very well balanced. Tons of free parking was available on the street.

Google
We went here for a celebration and really enjoyed our time. The food and drinks were great. We had some cocktails and decided to split some small plates and share the halibut for our main. Probably didn’t need to order the sweet potato casserole for dessert but it was delicious.

Poppy’s is an absolute must in Cleveland! We started with the Calamari, and it did not disappoint. The blend of calamari with the sumac raita works!! For mains, we had the flat iron steak and the lamb shank. Both were absolutely cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The star of the night was the sweet potato casserole. THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. The staff are amazing and attentive. The ambience is inclusive yet private. This is a must visit restaurant and I’ll be back.

Layers. Of. Flavor. And. Texture. I went here with someone from town, and it’s the most memorable restaurant I’ve been anywhere in a while. I’m from LA. What was amazing: - lemon lavender butter + biscuits - Brussels sprouts - duck - steak - banana cake (what was so cool about it was that none of the elements are that good on their own…banana chips, icing, plan banana cake…but together they’re unforgettable!) The ambiance is incredible too! So homey and well decorated with stained glass everywhere. The only thing I’d steer clear of was the salad, which had mixed greens, bread crumbs, mandolin radishes/carrots, and ginger dressing. It was basic and bland. The dressing felt like an afterthought, like you’re trying hard to make a salad with what’s left in your fridge. Everything else we ordered was amazing.

We were in Cleveland to celebrate our anniversary. Intrigued by Poppy’s imaginative, plant-friendly menu, we went there and our high expectations were exceeded. The food was delicious, creatively presented, and easy to share. We had cider-braised root vegetables served with a tahini cream, wedge salad with Parmesan and pancetta crisps, and an out-of-this-world risotto with charred snap peas. Amber, our server, was friendly and helpful even as the evening crowd grew around us. The rest of the staff was equally friendly. My cocktail was subtle and delightful, and the “Spring Sundae” for dessert with homemade lemon raspberry sorbet was the perfect finale for a lovely evening. We can’t wait to go back to taste Poppy’s summer menu!

Google
Very cute hole in a wall kind of vibe. Note if you sit outside in the back corner area, bring bug spray because it seems to be a mosquito hangout area. Food wise the quality seems to be consistent with the previous restaurant, however, food portions have drastically decreased. I suggest ordering appetizers and desserts because meal portions are small. In addition the menu rotates so rely heavily on the suggestions from the staff. The cocktails were the same as before, very refreshing and curated well.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 5PM and we got seated quickly! My friend and I ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious! We got the biscuit with coconut chili butter which was absolutely amazing. The calamari had a nice crunch from a light batter with this tzatziki sauce that balanced it well. We got the squash and kale salad making it the perfect fall veggie mix and ordered the branzino with rice cake which was seasoned so well! We also ordered cocktails which were delicious and finished off the night with a cherry pie! Love how they turned an old house into a restaurant which gave it such a cozy vibe! Service was amazing and I can't wait to come back when they change their menu!

Yelp
Wife and I came here in the Fall for our anniversary dinner. It was a lovely evening, so we opted to sit out on their back patio area which turned out to be a great decision. The serving team asked us if we were celebrating anything special (which we were) and returned with a complimentary champagne toast for our anniversary...what a nice touch! We decided to split a baby romaine Caesar salad and then we each ordered a main dish. My wife loved her halibut with a smoked pepper glaze atop a sweet corn puree and a side of grilled asparagus. Seeing the open-air grill when we entered their outdoor patio area, I opted for the char-grilled flank steak served with potatoes and asparagus. It was smokey and cooked to a perfect mid-rare degree. The atmosphere and air of celebration made for a wonderful dining experience, anxious to come back and sample other items from their menu!

Yelp
We tried poppy finally, after driving by weekly we booked for my wife's birthday. We arrived and were greeted by the staff and they were very kind and sat us right away. We did make reservations. The whole restaurant was warm and inviting. The converted home is very quaint. The server was awesome and made the experience even better. The food from the appetizer to the desert was exceptional. I highly recommend Poppy!

Yelp
We finally made it to Poppy and were not disappointed. We went for their holiday bar pop-up, which is hosted in the cute back barn area they have, which is a bit chilly but is being warmed by some extra heaters in the space. The charm of the ambiance more than makes up for a few chills. The drink menu for the holiday season is excellent. I went with the coquito, a sort of Puerto Rican egg nog-type deal but that gets all of its creaminess from coconut cream. It was boozy and delicious. My husband got a drink off of the regular menu called put 'em up, put 'em up and was impressed (yes, I am here for the Wizard of Oz themed drink names). We also ordered two small dishes - a salad with currants and butternut squash that was knock-out and a smoked trout dip - very yummy. We didn't make any reservations to go to the pop-up bar and we were seated quickly and served efficiently. The pop-up is first come first served, but if you're going to sit in the main restaurant its fairly clear you'll need a reservation or very good luck. Can't wait to go back to try a full sit down experience.

Mark R.

Yelp
First time here and top notch experience. I thought the cocktails especially were really refined and thoughtful - they're also Oz-themed :-) My favorite was a dill infused vodka martini with celery bitters and Dolin blanc for the vermouth. The balance of the sours and the vermouth (the blanc - mind you not the "dry" / white or "sweet" / red vermouth) has a sweet taste profile and was excellent. Food was excellent as well - both the lamb burger and the beef cheeks hash were top notch. Service was personable, attentive, and helpful. Patio is great - massive wood fired oven. Needless to say, we are coming back for dinner (already booked). Can't wait!

Yelp
Signage was poor for this place and I had to really look in the courtyard area to know this was Poppy. No parking lot but there was plenty of street parking. It's in a little house with creaky floorboards but very Tremont/Coventry-esque. The staff is pretty friendly and attentive. Menu was attractive and pricey but not crazily so. Like Salt, they do small plates but I found that the variety was better. The flavors, quality of the food, cut of the protein were quite excellent. While the portions weren't huge, they were realistic. My bill for myself came up to almost $60 for 1 app + 1 entree but I left full and satisfied. I ordered the octopus small plate and the duck entree. Both were delicious.

Yelp
Very nice evening at Poppy's. We stopped at their winter bar behind the back of the restaurant for a quick drink. They have fun winter drinks that you can't get on the regular restaurant menu. I got the lamb burger and cauliflower starter for my dishes. We also ordered two slices of sourdough bread for ($1 each) to wipe up the extra cauliflower sauce. It was really tasty! Also the lamb burger was really flavorful with sweet potatoes fries. The feta cheese on the burger was really good too! Would love to come back and try other dishes. Lastly, parking is only street parking or parallel parking. So be weary of that!

Yelp
Spring is finally here and Poppy has bloomed on Larchmere! While the outside is the same residential building from Felice days, the inside is newly polished but still vintage cozy. Plants are being nurtured in every corner (yes, even in the restroom) and thrive in the covered porch area where you could almost convince yourself you're just sitting at your neighbor's. We came for the first lunch service and everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Chef Parkison herself was part of the welcome party as diners arrived. Inside, the atmosphere is classy and casual, certainly dressed down from Salt+, but the service and food are enough to impress. Classic rock was the soundtrack while we perused the simple but enticing menu, which our server Samantha explained was all made from scratch in the kitchen (except from the bread sourced from On the Rise). We snagged a window seat with huge pillows and were immediately offered filtered water. The menu is in the flavor of Salt+ with a mix of vegetable, seafood, and land meats, including some cocktails imported directly from the old menu, but there's also more entree style dishes near the bottom of each list. A variety of seating exists for intimate tables for two or larger groups. Selecting our food was no easy feat as Samantha genuinely loves food and waxed poetic about everything, but we didn't feel pressured to order. Everything we ordered was fantastic, with perfect consistency and cook - the Potato Leek Fritters set the stage, the Scallops were plump and delicate, and Lamb Burger perfectly juicy. With the housing refresh, you can peek into the kitchen where food was efficiently prepped and whisked to each table - you can't help but get food envy while watching plates pass. We even gushed about how warm and toasty the bathroom was (a pleasant experience in the winter), and I was pleased to see the vintage bookcase in the bathroom was not only delicately adorned with paintings of poppies, but stocked with feminine hygiene products. Poppy's not done growing yet either - when warmer months arrive, supposedly the outdoor patio area will transform into a speakeasy style bar, Etta, for over 100. And will remain open year-round for your east-side cocktail fix.

Yelp
We so enjoyed the wine dinner last night! Thanks to Jess, Quintin, Jonathan, the kitchen, and Sue Shay for a lovely evening!

Yelp
Went to Poppy`s after reading several great reviews. We were not disappointed. Went this past sat night for anniversary dinner ( 50 ) . The front door was not being used to get in , so we did have to use the stairs to get to our table. I will say the food and service was excellent. Anxious to go back. The flatbreads were not being sold, something to do with the season . ( Seemed weird.

Yelp
I loved this restaurant before the ownership change, the food Service and Ambiance was fantastic and a my go to restaurant when I wanted to have a great dinning experience. So I visited Poppy for the first, and it was an elegant and elevated dinning experience! Food execution was spot on, flavors were unique and left me trying to understand the taste was coming from. Cocktails perfectly balanced, great service, recommendation for wine and dishes were spot on for picky eaters. I have to try Salt+ in Lakewood.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a weeknight. We did make reservations in advance but there were plenty of empty tables so I'm sure walk ins are welcome. Street parking was easy. The patio is really cute and has a nice atmosphere. However, there were a lot of bugs flying around so wear bug spray! The server was very attentive and explained the menu in detail. We ordered the summer roasted veggies with the bean purée and the shrimp off of the patio menu. We also ordered the beet risotto off of the main menu. The summer roasted veggies with the bean purée was delicious. The risotto was nice, but I found it to be a bit sweet and would try something different next time. Overall a great experience with plenty of vegetarian options (their menu does seem to change).

Yelp
I came back to Poppy last weekend with a friend to experience their patio. We were excited to sit outdoors and sip on our favorite Poppy cocktails and try their patio menu. The patio is first come first served, but also you apparently can make a reservation for the patio? Conflicting messages but it didn't matter for us because the patio is VERY large and there is plenty of space, especially if you show up earlier. You're able to order from both the regular menu and patio menu. We decided on tuna carpaccio, fire roasted summer vegetables with white bean purée, and the artichoke, asparagus, pickled tomatoes + roasted garlic flatbread. This meal was ... definitely not as good as the first time I came to Poppy. Perhaps this was our mistake, but my friend and I thought the fire roasted summer vegetables with white bean purée was going to be like the regular menu's dip - it ended up basically being a bowl of vegetables lined with white bean purée with no accompanying bread. The vegetables also ended up being basically the same as the ones on our flatbread. So basically we ate two big plates of the same roasted vegetables for dinner? They tasted fine but it was a little disappointing, and by the end of our meal we were sick of chewing on vegetables. The tuna carpaccio was also fine - it was a small plate so not a big portion which we expected, but also I don't have much to say about it. It was exactly as advertised and didn't blow my mind. For drinks we got the Evelyn's Gin + Tonic (my favorite) and the Ruby Slippers (came with edible glitter!) which were great - but we were disappointed that the drinks were the only great thing that we consumed this evening (especially when our $99 bill rolled around). Overall, we enjoyed Poppy last time we came but thought it could do more for us. This time we tried it and left disappointed. After extensive deliberation, we think Poppy's concept is not as strong as Salt's. While Salt strongly gives me small plate-fusion restaurant, Poppy is more confused with some small plates, plates that increase in size as you go down the menu but not always a large plate by the end of the menu, and less special flavor combinations (as demonstrated by our roasted vegetables from the patio). Now that my friend and I have tried both the regular Poppy menu and the patio menu, we have our sights set on the brunch menu. We are excited to give it a go, and hoping it redeems Poppy for us!

Sneha P.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place and tried a few things. We started with the smoked trout appetizers which was a hearty small plate. Pretty good and I liked the horseradish and capers with. For my main course, I never met a black cod I didn't like so that is what I ordered, however, this one seemed lacking in flavor and it was served atop a slaw that just tasted like the main component and overwhelming flavor was just mayo. I just wanted some hot sauce to help with the cod but there wasn't any. The server we had was incredibly sweet and swapped my meal for a lamb burger which was pretty good!!! Everything they serve is scratch made so that is always appreciated. We were there celebrating our 8 year anniversary and then saw a table next to us get served champagne because the waitress overheard it was their anniversary. I guess it pays to be loud about what you're celebrating! Lastly, for dessert, I had the blood orange and chocolate tart which had excellent flavor. IMO, you can never go wrong with that combination. The crust was a bit dry and lacking but I enjoyed the inside and loved the touch of the gold flakes. I would go back for the drinks and possibly try some other foods. I did feel the price point was high for the lack of flavor though.

Deb O.

Yelp
The food was awesome! Tried it once and will be planning on going back. Quant building and wonderful staff.

Tatiana D.

Yelp
So although I generally love this place tonight was a deep disappointment. We ordered appetizers and a salad and two mains. All was going well until only one main arrives and we wait and wait and wait and so I finally ask and she says oh I'll check on it. When someone finally comes with the entree I have raw scallops which no thank you why would I eat that. Sooooo when she asks if oler want desert I say no and she lets me know she covered my drink. Um ok but I would gladly pay for my drink but that unacceptable entree why would you not eat that cost since I didn't eat it and it showed up 20 minutes after my husband's. Bummer birthday and didn't feel like a remotely good make good.

Eunice D.

Yelp
Came in with a lot of hype for this restaurant for a special occasion. There were hints of Salt's dishes in the menu but they new dishes were excellent additions. The unanimous winner of the night was the crab cake! So flakey and buttery! It practically disappeared off the table as soon as it came. There is a lot to be excited about in this new menu and I would recommend anyone to come.

Emily R.

Yelp
We had a lovely meal here. Our party of 8 was seated and served well, which can be tricky in itself. There were other large tables and the volume was quite high, making it difficult to hear the waitress. That's the only negative I could say about the entire evening. The food was all well prepared and lovely. The fish was flaky, flavorful and fresh. The shellfish was scrumptious. Really knocked it out of the park. Special occasion? Perfect. Not a special occasion, make one up. Trust me, you'll love it

Isabel H.

Yelp
I visited poppy on the recommendation of some friends, who said this is one of the best meals that they had in Cleveland. We were able to make a reservation for a party of two on a Friday evening, and they were able to seat us promptly. Poppy is in a classic Cleveland home on Larchmere, so there's beautiful wood, intimate tables, and overall, great ambience. We started it off with cocktails: the Evelyn's, Spanish gin and tonic, as well as the come out, come out, wherever you are. The Evelyn's Spanish food and tonic is probably the best G&T I've ever had in my life, I could drink a whole pitcher of this. The come out come out wherever you are was also excellent, and taste like an upscale aperol spritz, but with less Prosecco. As far as the menu goes, the items are organized from smallest to largest for the different categories: vegetables, seafood, meat. Given that this is more of a small plate style, we ordered for dishes between the two of us. We started off with a potato and leek fritters, which were delicious, that we both wished that it were a bit crunchier, and didn't fall apart quite as easily. We had to smash cucumber salad on the recommendation of our server, and it was definitely a unique flavor that I haven't heard of before, but the more I eat it, the more I enjoyed it. The whipped feta paired with the fennel and cucumber is such a unique and refreshing combination. The lobster cake was incredible. Probably our favorite dish of the night. It definitely is on the smaller side, which is unfortunate given the price point, but it was so tender and perfectly seasoned, and the accompanying aïoli was also very delicious. The mussels came in a harissa sauce, which was so delicious. The toasted bread comes with an olive tapenade on top, but we definitely requested more bread afterwards to soak up some of the delicious broth (FYI it is an extra $1 per plate of bread). Overall, we really enjoyed all of the food that we had. Our servers are very attentive, and the food came out quickly. My only gripe is with the price point, but I would definitely love to come back for like a happy hour at the bar, and just drinking gin and tonics with bar snacks. Definitely a wonderful new addition to the Cleveland food scene!

Hallie M.

Yelp
We went for dinner here last night to celebrate my birthday, and we would go back but would order differently. We started with the ricotta dumplings and cucumber and feta salad -- both excellent. Then we had the buttermilk fried rabbit leg and wagyu skirt steak. Based on the price and description, these seem like entrees, but they aren't really. The other ingredients listed were more for plating than true sides. Then we had the chocolate pot du creme for dessert. Our server was okay. I thought he'd tell us more about the menu or provide some recommendations, but he only told us that the items are listed in order of size from small to large after I asked. I also ordered the I'm melting cocktail, and there was a whole presentation involved, but I found it to be so strong that it wasn't even enjoyable. Next time, we would skip the larger plates and order more small plates.

Melissa S.

Yelp
I first came here for lunch in March 2023 after they first opened and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, they no longer offer lunch service, but I highly recommend for a nice night out! Such a cute cozy place inside and I love that they've been doing themed pop up bars. I can't wait to try out their patio in the summer!

Saloni L.

Yelp
A lot of the houses on Larchmere have been turned into small restaurants. While it's a cute idea, it can quickly become loud and crowded. We came for the early brunch and got some duck confit, a lamb burger, and a side of smashed potatoes. All of the potato dishes were fantastic. I'm not a big fan of duck to begin with so that wasn't my favorite dish. The lamb burger was pretty good, but a bit heavy for a brunch. The dessert chai panna cotta was the star of the meal.

Roxanne S.

Yelp
Kitchen refuses to customize any food preparation for dietary restrictions--everything must be ordered from the menu as-is with no substitutions, and staff is brusque and dismissive if you ask. There's little concern for guest comfort or experience, and staff behaves like they're running an exclusive club and giving you the privilege of spending your money there. We expected the food to be outright incredible since they're so inflexible with preparation, but our dishes were average at best--definitely not even in our top ten favorite Cleveland restaurants. The side dishes they forced on us were less than average. Chef apparently has a James Beard nomination and let it go to their head--there's nothing special here to justify the self-aggrandizing. Go to Batuqui (great Brazilian restaurant a few blocks down) if you want better quality fine dining.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Poppy had a great atmosphere and ambience. We sat outside, which had a lively garden and cute, colorful chairs. I did enjoy the food here most of which were small plates. I ordered the eggplant with tofu, which was quite tasty, the lamb burger with sweet potato fries, the clams in bone broth, and grilled shrimp. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the clams. Overall, the service was the thing to write home about our server, Samantha, was very friendly and funny. I would say that the clam broth was on the salty side as were the shrimps, but I would definitely come here to eat again.

Olindi W.

Yelp
Went early as we have a toddler. Staff is very friendly and accommodative. They have high chairs and a lovely outdoor area that has a bar that's covered. Food was varied and delicious! We especially loved the calamari, the beets and the scallops. Loved the ambiance and music playing. The covered patio filled up by 6pm on a Saturday. Highly recommend!

Monica N.

Yelp
Tried poppy for the first time and the food was impressive! Lots of fresh ingredients and interesting dishes. We tried the white bean purée, charred eggplant, chilled asparagus, and calamari. The service was great and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and drink recommendations. The inside of the restaurant was nice, but hoping to go back again and eat on the patio which looks really cute. The only complaint is the drinks were mostly ice.

Renee R.

Yelp
Poppy is a new favorite place to get dinner on date night. I have never had a mediocre meal here. My husband and I enjoyed Salt couple of times, so we were quite excited when Poppy showed up on the east side. They change the menu seasonally and I have had an amazing and delicious dinner every, single time. You can't go wrong with their staple menu items, however definitely make sure you try their seasonal drinks and dishes. I recently had the swordfish (amazing) and my husband enjoyed the rack of lamb (very delicious) and we also ordered the blackened shrimp croquettes. Definitely get those if they are still there when you go! They have an amazing crunch and a really wonderful flavor. You also cannot go wrong with their calamari or their scallop dishes. All of their drinks are very balanced and tasty. Love their staples like Gigi's Manhattan and Evelyn's G and T - which is also just really beautiful. Recently, I tried the Bird Cage (very tasty) and my husband tried the Psychotic Horse which was a great take on a black manhattan. It is such a beautiful, cute space. Plus, they have the bar in the backyard in the patio area which they treat like a pop up speakeasy bar. It was very fun to go there for Valentine's Day! I cannot wait until the weather allows us to hang out on the patio. Not to mention the staff are wonderful. This restaurant has a great group of servers who take care of their diners. Really love coming here! I feel special and enjoy the food immensely every time.

Yelp
My friend and I went here before seeing a musical at Playhouse. We ordered the fennel salad and the tomato burrata small plates, the quail wings, and an artichoke and asparagus seasonal flatbread for dinner. We typically share. We were able to sit outside on the patio at 5:30 pm with reservations. It was quiet at that time, but the flowers and plants were in full bloom and business increased as it got closer to 6 pm. It had a bar cabana, an area for larger groups outside, and even an outdoor pizza oven. The music was a bit loud for a Wednesday, but during the weekends, I'm sure the volume is fine. I tried the Surrender Dorothy cocktail and my friend had a citrus mocktail. The cocktail was pretty strong, good thing it was in a small and dainty martini glass. The server was pleasant and easygoing. The burrata and tomato small plate was delicious. The flatbread was piping hot and light, a great summer dish. The fennel salad had a great citrus tang and was a good dish that was a bit more outside the box. I wasn't a huge fan of the quail wings (a bit gamey and expensive for my taste). The only downside I see is that my husband will most likely not be interested in ever going here. There's nothing simple enough for his taste. It's likely to be a female-centric eatery that caters to folks who are comfortable with a few staple dishes and a few new dishes for a meal. The good thing is, our server said they had just changed the menu in early June, so if they do that quarterly, then maybe we could find another iteration he would like better.

Adam M.

Yelp
I'd give this 5 stars if not for one thing. The prices. I have no issue paying for great food. The ambiance is fantastic. The staff is excellent. The food tastes amazing. BUT what we ordered couldn't have been more than $15-20 to prepare (bread, noodles, veggies) and our bill was over $100. Like I said, it tasted great but if I leave a restaurant hungry after spending that much, I'm not thrilled. You can get a meal that is equally as great at Zhug for much less and leave with a box. I miss Felice

Yelp
I've got a real fondness for Felice so I was happy to check out the new restaurant in the old spot. We were able to get a same-day reservation, and sat in the porch, which allowed for good people watching on the sidewalk. They have a fun cocktail menu. The food menu is a mix of smaller and larger plates. Two of us shared one vege + one fish + one meat (all from the middle of the list down), which was all quite tasty, but we likely needed one more plate to have left fully satisfied.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday with my hubby. Our server, Shannon, was delightful and attentive. Excellent cocktails. For appetizers, we had the potato leek fritters and lamb meatballs. Highly recommend both! The entrees, were very good. My hubby had the branzino. They deboned it at the table, but he spent a lot of time dealing with additional bones. He said it was delicious, but he had to work for it. My short rib was tender. Dessert: oat milk and cookies was a cute idea. The inside had a great vibe and is very cozy. We were on the second floor, which got pretty noisy when it was full. Happy to have them on the east side. Will definitely go back during patio season.

Yelp
Everything about my meal was exceptional -- the service, the cocktail, the meal, the dessert. I loved the intimate, cozy setting. A perfect evening!

Yelp
Yes, this was a great last minute find for us and I must than Yelp, once again, for helping us find a spot. The venue was a beautiful old period home that harkened back to the halcyon days of Cleveland's industrial past. Our server and everyone there was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The menu has a great selection and everything was spot on. We had the white bean spread, whole Bronzino and buttermilk fried leg of rabbit. Bronzino is a nice dish but it usually has a lot of small bones in it which must be picked through. I think the next time we go we may focus more on the vegetable dishes over the meat dishes. We look forward to returning in the summer when they open the patio.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Great service and the food was sooo good. Shared calamari, white bean dip, wedge salad and lobster cake. Everything was top notch quality and so delicious. Simple preparations with the freshest ingredients. Need to go back to try cocktails and entrees. It's inside a 1910 era house and so cozy. Make sure you check it out.

Yelp
Everything was great. Staff was awesome. But just a heads up there's no potatoes and no espresso. I really dont understand why so many fine dining restaurants will purée celery before they dare serve you any type of potato. Also a bummer when you can't get an espresso after a nice dinner. But hey I guess I'm just old fashioned.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised even after the climb to the second floor. The prior restaurant occupant and parking options never knocked me out. Then came the cocktail menu, the cocktail names were so welcoming, Familiar too (Salt). We deliberated over the small plates and with a little direction by our server... the kitchen delivered. The veggie plates were great, lobster cake will assure a return, the scallops wrapped up the dishes nicely. Looking forward to trying the lamb burger and long bone short rib on future visits, Congrats to the kitchen.

Yelp
Definitely, this place is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. We went for dinner and everything was phenomenal!!! Service was impeccable. We will definitely be back very soon!!!

Yelp
Poppy takes the place of Feliz in the quaint Larchmere area. The old house gives a very warm atmosphere and the patio promises to be excellent once the snow leaves. Do note that there is pretty much only street parking but it is way easier to find a spot than Lakewood, Treemont, or Little Italy. As far as the food, really only one complaint across 8 dishes; otherwise it was fantastic. Appetizers we tried were the white bean puree, not a wow but also exactly as you would expect, hearty and good. The smoked trout was fantastic, just needed more crackers, and the Calamari was outstanding. For entree the duck was spot on, Sturgeon was fantastic, and the artichokes with the filet were amazing. The only complaint we had was the filet itself which was so charred on the outside we had to trim off the exterior or else taste charcoal in every bite. For desert we did the chocolate tart which was decent and the Chai crème pot which was delicious! Drinks and service were also top notch. Add this to your must try list for sure!!!

Yelp
I like the attentive staff, the inventive menu choices and the quality of the preparation and of course wonderful flavors. The beet risotto was a standout to me. Only complaint was the upstairs space lacks any sort of acoustic quieting properties. Every surface is either bare wood, tile, glass or plaster. No acoustic baffling, curtains, carpeting, Just beyond loud when full.

Yelp
The menu was limited. If you have pedestrian taste this is not the place for you. I did like my salad and my friend enjoyed her appetizer but it is definitely for a crowd that has refined taste. Ambiance and service were good!

Yelp
Poppy is so cute and really good food to pair! Passionate servers and bartenders, can't wait to go again

Yelp
Very disappointing brunch. Overpriced and even charged for ketchup. Not extra ketchup just ketchup with my fries. The menu should specify that there are no substitutions to meals as well.

Yelp
what an adorable patio! the pizza oven is such a highlight of their outdoor space which is decorated in such a cozy and pretty way. Service was excellent- our server knew the whole menu really well and was able to make excellent recommendations. The stuffed peppers were so delicious as well as the flatbread. For cocktails- the dill martini was a nice twist, would definitely get again. The G and T was also very refreshing. We just loved the vibes here and can't wait to dine inside next time

Yelp
If you want a special experience and a fantastic meal, Poppy is the place for you. The flavors are spectacular. The best way to experience this restaurant is to order a wide array of appetizers and then share all of your main courses in Tapas style. In doing so you will experience all of the different flavors and the true originality with how they prepare their food. We have eaten all around Cleveland and I must say these folks deliver true flavor. Taste for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Excellent service and food preparation. Quaint ambiance. Would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Yelp
I stopped by for Happy Hour but was told they don't have Happy Hour. The Gin and Tonic was so good, I love the glass it was served in. I ordered the Flatbread with speck from the Patio menu but would choose something different the next time.

Yelp
Went to Poppy for the first time last week. Setting on the patio was great (although the chairs are pretty uncomfortable for a bony bum), service was very attentive and Uber friendly. However, food - not so much. Calamari was pretty greasy and boring, save for the little sauce underneath, and a little skimpy for the money. My husband ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and I had the flank steak with roasted red skin potatoes. Both of our potato sides were raw and some of my redskins were also black inside. We informed our server and she was super apologetic and offered to replace both with "perfectly done" ones. Sweet potato fries were delivered a little before my husband was done with his burger, so we shared them. My potatoes arrived after I was done with my steak, so the server was happy to suggest that I have those for breakfast the next day. Our bill arrived and all that we ordered was billed, not a discount, not an offer to give us a desert or a drink on the house. Extremely disappointing. Oh, and the potatoes that I was given to go were still as bad as the first ones - went straight into the garbage. I understand that food can come out not up to par, but when it does, instruct your servers to try to appease the customers, so they are inclined to give your restaurant another chance. Not in our case We miss Felice already!

Yelp
Finally went to Poppy. Not a big fan of Salt but friends wanted to check out. Had a roasted summer squash dish that was bland. Also a smoked lamb loin and sweet potato souffle. I was told the lamb would come out "medium". A very rare lamb atop some mushed up sweet potato appeared that was sent back.the meat was cooked a bit more and returned on cold potatoes. The $38 entree was handkerchief sized and horrible. Two cocktails,2 glasses of wine, the squash, my husband's entree and a tiny dessert ended up costing $140 with a tip. When will I learn to ignore the hype? Lesson learned tonight for sure!
