Cute coffee shop in Brooklyn Heights! I got the turmeric latte & the cardamom pecan coffee cake. Although I did like the cardamom on twist on the coffee cake, I did find it kind of dry. The latte was good, although I would go for something different if I were to go here again. Setting is cute, very small, but cozy and perfect for a small coffee chat.

I had a coffee with some Almond loaf, so my review is not about food and stuff. Coffee was good, by New York standards – pretty good! Pastry is so good, great! Service was just average.

Cute breakfast place in Brooklyn Heights, with many vegan and dairy free options. The banana bread was really good.

Such a cute neighborhood spot!! We tried the morning buns, cookies, and coffee cake, all of which were delicious. Will have to try the coffee next time. There isn’t really indoor seating but they have a nice outdoor patio by the sidewalk (weather permitting). They also have a very cute curated selection of food, gifts and swag (Brightland olive oil, pasta, …)

Poppy’s has delicious coffee and snacks! I have tried their sandwiches and frittatas and I am always happy to try their new seasonal snacks! They have a nice curated “grocery” style section. However, the pricing seems over the top for these items which are easily accessible online.

Walked by and was super excited to try. Ordered the egg breakfast sandwich and was recommended to upgrade to the biscuit. Disappointed to find the hot eggs sandwiched between two halves of a cold stale biscuit. The eggs/jam/pickled veg were tasty, but it was completely ruined by the biscuit which tasted like it came out of the fridge.

I loved to see bone broth on the hot beverages menu, it was good! The price was above expected ($10 per cup) which was not listed on the wall - so I was expecting something in the other drinks range like $5-7. No seating inside, just outside tables. The long line took a while.

We visited on Friday 8.11.2024 during a week long trip to NYC from the UK, as my partner wanted to look around the traditional Brooklyn streets. Super friendly (especially the customer with the Austradoodle), excellent food and coffee followed by a walk along the waterfront. We’d use Poppy’s again in a heartbeat…😊

I've been here several times! Overall I like the drinks but they're overpriced (matcha strawberry was amazing but $10 pre tax is a bit steep). The sandwiches get the job done but aren't super memorable. The pastries are hit or miss. The fig morning bun was by far the best pastry I've had from here. The loaf cakes haven't been particularly memorable and the brownie and glazed flavored sweet bun were both too sweet/intense. So realistically 4 stars for food and drink, 2 stars for outrageous pricing.

Soft opening of Poppy's! I was really excited to see Poppy's open in the Cranberry Cafe space. They were quick to turn this cafe around and did a great job with the buildout inside. It's still their soft opening, but their official opening is Tuesday November 7. I tried their lemon poppyseed cake and a piece of their persimmon focaccia. The focaccia was really delicious and almost had a slight sweetness to it. I could see myself grabbing a slice of this for a light lunch. Admittedly, the poppyseed cake was not very good - but it's still their soft opening and not a fair assessment. Prices seem a little steep ($16 for a salami and tapenade sandwich) but I'm excited and curious to try more things. There's no seating inside, but it looks like a few tables were added in the outdoor dining space. Will be back many times!

I really love the grocery selection at Poppy's. Everything is local, interesting, and feels intentional. The cafe space is not very big and mainly designed for grab-and-go. There are ready to eat and ready to cook meals in the fridge and tons of pastries out on the counter. I absolutely love their buttermilk biscuit ($6) and their many salads ($10-14). However, like many Yelpers have noted, the price range is on the higher side and sometimes the quality of the food simply does not justify the price tag. For example, the 8-piece falafel ($20) was large and came decorated with a sprig of rosemary, but it lacked flavor and texture. I would much rather grab a $5 falafel sandwich made fresh up the street at Heights Falafel. In my opinion, I would recommend mainly the prepared salads as they can stay in the fridge for a good week or so and the pastries.

The best way I can describe the experience: airport food. Do you like mediocre food at high prices? This may be your go to spot. I've been here twice now because I want to give a new business in the neighborhood a chance but for a second time was disappointed. The breakfast sandwiches were a room temperature joke and frankly I feel like an idiot for paying $12 for each of these, before the tip. They have no redeeming qualities. I believe the picture illustrates my point. I'm giving three stars because I do feel their bakery items, like the corn muffin, and the $16 half chicken cutlet sandwich are tasty and the aesthetics are beautiful. Unfortunately, that's not enough for me to come back.

A year after opening and I would still not recommend this place. Food quality/portion sizes do not meet the price point. I feel like you're paying for the interior design and millennial color pallet. Service is great and they understand when I complain about food quality but nothing has changed in 11 months. Stick with Joe Coffee and Vineapple cafe

The food is generally good and the staff is friendly. The space is small but clean. As others have said, nothing they prepare or sell justifies the price point. Places like this create an unfortunate class system among shoppers. There are many other just-as-good small businesses in this area that do not take financial advantage of the locals. The food is three and half stars. The concept gets one star.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! The corn muffin was one of the best I've ever had and the cold brew was excellent as well.

I bought a whole roasted chicken that was super moist and delicious, however it cost me $34! I still have not tried the $16 small soup container or the $22 salad. If they are as good as the chicken I might go back to Poppy's again but not often . Prices are too high for daily visits. I tried their oatmeal walnut cookie that was yummy. They need more sandwich choices and at more reasonable prices.

I was excited for a Poppy's location a half a block away after visiting their other location but unfortunately was left disappointed. While I don't mind paying a higher price for a sandwich, I was disturbed to find one singular piece of salami in a sandwich called "salami sandwich". The overall taste was pretty poor (I ended up removing the majority filling of artichoke spread) and the other sandwich ordered, chicken cutlet, was tepid. Cranberry's is a tough act to follow, but I was hopeful Poppy's could pull it off. Brooklyn Heights doesn't need another $16 for half a sandwich spot (Re: Vineapple) we need a reliable place with good tasting food.

Good breakfast egg sandwich. However, still scratching my head as to why it cost about x3 times what i would expect. It was good but not magical to justify the $15 price tag. I wasn't a sit down with table service and a side salad.

I'm so happy to have Poppy's in my neighborhood! I've visited every weekend since they opened and it's always feels like a treat to grab a coffee and delicious scone or slice of cake there. It's not inexpensive but you can tell that everything is made using high quality ingredients and it's a beautiful shop with friendly staff. It's a great addition to Brooklyn Heights!
