Absolutely horrid.
This place looks beautiful and exciting from the outside, but once you get in, it is a completely different story. There is no limit to the number of people who can play/be on the course, which is a huge implication. You will find yourself waiting in line to get ON the course, and once you start playing you still have to wait on the groups ahead of you to move up so you can progress. The sheer volume of people trying to putt ensures that your wait time is maximized, and your play time is minimized. Bottom line: Don't go on a weekend, it's PACKED, with long waits, and is practically a free-for-all.
Now, this place also doubles as a beer garden. PopStroke offers a full bar and food options as well. There are 3 bars: two downstairs, one upstairs and tables for the general dining surround the bars. Great concept, its outdoors, and shaded, very bright, open, and welcoming. However, my impression was soured quickly due to disorganization.
The wait time for the 1st floor dining area was long, so I went upstairs to see if the wait was shorter. It looked pretty empty, so I confirmed with a server to see if we could sit upstairs instead to which she insisted it was fine. I went back downstairs to let the hostess know, and she denied us because apparently there was an event going on... when it was empty. Little bit of a communication issue between the staff.
We stayed downstairs to wait for our table and ordered some drinks at the bar for the meantime. We spent 20 minutes at the bar before anyone acknowledged us. When we finally got the chance to order, we got 4 cocktails and 3 milkshakes. Once again, another waiting game. It took 40 minutes for 4 Tee Off's, and a whopping 1.5 hours before we got all of the milkshakes. Worst part of it all, nothing was worth the wait. The Tea Off was bland, lacking in overall flavor, and the milkshakes, although pretty, were nothing out of the ordinary.
Luckily, once we got sat at a table, service started to move a little faster. Starving, we ordered practically half the menu, and nothing really wow'ed us. Most of the food, mainly anything with cheese, was too salty. The wings and Ahi tuna nachos were probably the best things we ordered, but everything else was quite underwhelming.
I have mixed feelings about the service. There was a lack of communication between the upstairs and downstairs workers, the bartender took a while to acknowledge us or even look our way, I thought our food runner was curt with us as well. Thank goodness for our actual server though, she was slammed, but did such a good job being attentive and addressing our concerns.
Overall, my experience was a huge disappointment. While it has a lot of potential, there were too many issues with waiting, organization, and food to make it an enjoyable experience.
