Popup Bagels Williamsburg - Review - Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"New-school bagel shop Popup Bagels sixth outpost is in Williamsburg. You can get the same baked-fresh bagels, and a tub of weekly-rotating schmear there. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

A different type of bagel place! This is not your usual bagel spot in that the bagels are really light and designed to dip into the cream cheese or butter. A friend of ours turned us onto this place and we are glad we popped in before leaving town. These bagels are so easy to eat that it’s dangerous. Sometimes you forget that you’re eating a bagel and that you don’t need to just 6 in one go. We got the everything, plane, salt and poppy seed bagel with the Scallion cream cheese and the Maple butter as our spreads. You probably only need one schmear per about 6 bagels but we wanted some options today. Our favorites were Salt > Plain > Poppy > Everything. The salt almost tasted like a pretzel! The everything was good, but maybe just a little too much everything. But honestly they are all fantastic. If you are in the area and haven’t tried them they have multiple locations. I highly recommend

Google
I love their bagels. The salted bagel is my fave, but I also like the sesame and poppy bagels. I like the packages where you can get 3 or 6 bagels with 1 schmear or a dozen with 2 schmears. The scallion schmear is tasty and fresh. They also have special, limited time flavors of schmear or butter. I tried the lemon poppy butter and it's pretty good. Not many places to sit but they have a couple tall tables with chairs..more of a take out bagel place. I've gone twice so far and plan to make this my go to bagel place for now.

If you want to try different flavors every week pop up is the best bagel in NYC! The bagels are always so hot & fresh and it’s always a fun experience ripping the bagel apart and dipping it in cream cheese! Highly recommend this place

Google
The bagels are amazing! Very fluffy and great taste! Multiple schmear flavors ranging from plain to some unique seasonal flavors. We order a package of 3-bagels and scallion cream cheese for a good price, quantity, and quality!!! You must try them!!!

Google
So freaking good!!! The best bagel in my opinion. I dont need any cream cheese actually to enjoy the bagel! (They sell the bagel and cream cheese separately, not put in the inside of the bagel)

Google
Hands down best bagels I've had after living here for 3 years. It's not your typical bagel sandwiches (which I don't love), but hot and fresh bagels that you tear and dip into the cream cheese. The texture is amazing and has ruined all other bagels for me.

Google
PopUp Bagels has the most delicious bagels of all time. Great customer service and the new limited edition Grillo cream cheese is the best one.

Google
The bagels here are AMAZING - super fluffy and fresh! The scallion cream cheese is also a 10/10!! Chelsea was super kind and helpful as well, staff is wonderful! I will be back!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning and surprised to find no line. We got the 3 piece with the scallion cream cheese costing $13. When I saw the everything bagel, this is TRULY an EVERYTHING and everywhere bagel. I don't think I've had an everything bagel where it's covered completely. The bagel was warm with a nice firm outside and soft fluffy inside. Paired with the scallion cream cheese, it's perfect. They also give a lot of cream cheese too.

Yelp
Let's talk about pop up bagels. I mean I can't talk about the actual bagels because yet again...they failed to deliver actual bagels! We had pre ordered for pick up on June 1st in midland park nj on may 25th. On June 1st after the pick up window begun we were notified of a refund...en route to pick up our bagels. Picture it, the whole family ready for brunch...and now we have all the bagel fixings and no bagels. In August an email was sent stating they'd be rescheduling for 9/13. Great. Not ideal but honestly we were blown away by them actually stating they'd be having a dozen hot bagels for us on them. Again...bagel spread...busy Saturday as I too own a small business and Saturdays are hectic but we were all so excited to get the chance to actually enjoy them. My husband arrived during the pick up window to be informed that there were no more bagels. When someone says they have bagels and to give your name and email that signifies they are your bagels and being held. I spoke to Meghan via text the evening before to confirm all of this. She "understands our frustration" but she obviously doesn't understand that clearly they sold said bagels and that making that money on one order must have mattered more than having customers. We were not the only ones either there were numerous folks in the exact same situation some having driven an hour to pick them up. To say we are disappointed is saying it lightly. Two separate days two separate spreads two separate pissed off groups of people and two separate wastes of 50.00 on the rest of the spread.

Yelp
I was influenced. I'm a lifelong New Yorker. I love and appreciate a good bagel. I've seen so many posts on IG and TT about Pop-up Bagels. The bagels are served warm with a side of cream cheese. To eat you rip and dip. The bagels at this location come in 3 flavors: poppy, sesame, and everything. We chose 1 of each and the scallion cream cheese. One thing is for certain, these bagels are piping hot. We ate immediately and we started with sesame, poppy, then everything. The everything was superior among the 3. These were just OK. I think they are a novelty and very trendy but not the best bagel I've ever had. The establishment is small and not meant for dining in. They serve coffee and have smoked salmon/whitefish spreads. The staff were kind and provided speedy service. Overall, I was influenced. I tried. I enjoyed but it was just OK for me.

Yelp
Walking to the office, I randomly passed by Popup Bagels in Williamsburg. I've heard the hype for years but never tried it. Went in and was surprised there's a 3-bagel minimum with a spread. My first thought: what am I going to do with 3 bagels? Glad I did though -- they're smaller than your typical bagel, so it's not overwhelming. I got an everything, a sesame, and a salt bagel with scallion spread. The bagels were soft and fluffy, with the perfect chew, and the scallion spread was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Maybe I just got lucky, but on a Wednesday morning there was no line at all. Definitely recommend, especially if you want a lighter, more snackable bagel experience without sacrificing flavor.

Yelp
PopUp Bagels is so good! My friend had it saved on her list and it was a block away from where we are currently staying in Williamsburg. We stopped by around 9 AM this past Monday morning to pick up some bagels. The staff was nice and friendly. 3-PACK BAGELS (PLAIN) - 13 + 12 for 4oz smoked salmon + plain schmear (a small tub of plain cream cheese, but scallion would have been a great option to be honest) I think we can get any bagel type but we went with plain. They were really nice and ended up giving us four bagels (yum). Everything came unassembled -- a paper bag to hold four bagels, a tub of plain cream cheese, and smoked salmon in its original packaging. It was nice to make our own smoked salmon bagel sandwich and use as much (or as little) cream cheese as we wanted. We used half of the smoked salmon per bagel, which was the perfect amount. The cream cheese was strong and nicely whipped (and not dense!), and the bagels were fresh and had a nice texture but also not too much dough. It was a very filling breakfast that we both enjoyed. We still had two bagels left over which my friend enjoyed the next couple mornings with the left over cream cheese (and there was a lot left!). Overall, fair price for the amount of bagels we got, and we made two smoked salmon bagels out of it!

Yelp
Super tasty bagels and awesome cream cheese flavors. Rip and dip style - dip bagel chunks into the cream cheese!

Yelp
Pretty legit. Tasty, chewy, and lots of cream cheese! Service was pretty quick. Shop was small, and I don't recall there were seats but I intended to take my order to go anyhow. No single bagel purchases, by three or six. Plain, everything, sesame, and salted were the options. Poppy wasn't ready when I arrived! As for the cream cheese, I got the scallion cream cheese. Super spreadable and delicious, I used it on other food items at home. I'm curious about the other funkier spreads - I saw a chili lime so will have to come back. This is ideal for 2-3 people. The bagels are on the smaller side so one alone wasn't enough for me.

Yelp
Tried Pop Up Bagels today and overall, it was a really solid experience. The flavor of the bagels was excellent super fresh with that classic NY taste. I especially loved the scallion cream cheese creamy, flavorful, and generously spread. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bagels weren't as soft and fluffy as I expected. They had more of a chewy texture, which some people might love, but I personally prefer a little more softness. Still, the quality and flavor are definitely there, and I'll be back to try more. Great grab-and-go spot, and perfect if you're picking up for a group.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try pop up bagels ever since they first opened up in manhattan but was too scared of the long lines. So when I saw they were gunna open up a location in williamsburg, my body was ready. Theyre finally open and wow, these bagels are one of a kind. Its hard to explain the texture. Note: There's a 3 bagel minimum so come with someone to share or be prepared to eat 3 bagels in one day. Also, whoever is in charge of the aux cable has good tastes. I was shazamming every song.

Yelp
Popup Bagels can be be found in several locations as pop-ups or permanent locations, having their most recent location 'pop-up' in Williamsburg! As their other locations, the bagels here were hot and fresh, with a slight crisp exterior with a fluffy chewy interior. We went with their Everything and Poppy bagels, with the Scallion Cream Cheese; they also feature specialty butter and schmear of the week. Don't let the long line deter you - the staff and service was pretty efficient and keeps the line moving! +hot bagels +friendly service

Yelp
The one star is not about the bagels. It is for the dumb system they have whereby you have to buy three bagels and they give you a container of cream cheese to go with that, so you've got to spend about 12 or 13 dollars. I wanted to try one of their bagels, a single bagel, and did not want three bagels and did not want any cream cheese. I have never seen a bagel joint where you can not buy a single bagel. This is the dumbest fucken thing I've ever heard of. I wanted to try their bagels for the first time, not get three and cream cheese and spend 13$. Fucken stupid.

Yelp
I got to experience the soft open of the PopUp Bagels location and it was a treat! The space has some indoor seating, decorated super well. The bagels are FRESH, and they do the "grip it, rip it, dip it" over here. I got an assortment of bagels with the scallion cream cheese and I was so happy! The salt bagel (I usually would get everything) was my favorite! I highly recommend eating these fresh/asap. The bagels have a nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. Sooo good! They have drip hot coffee and drinks in a fridge too. The cold brew was really good. You have to buy at least 3 bagels at a time, but I see it as a great way to try a couple or share with friends!

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. The peppercini schmear was out of this world! Bagels are pretty good too. Its a rip your bagel into pieces and dip kind of place which is a nice change of pace.

Yelp
i have been meaning to try this bagel spot since it became viral online and it did not disappoint. i shared the dozen bagels with two smears for $42. this week the specialty schmears were spinach artichoke cream cheese and tomato basil butter. both were absolutely delicious. the vibes inside of the shop are adorable. there is a few seats inside and everything is super branded and it's really cute. i also got a hat which was a little pink hat that said not famous but known, which is their logo and it was really really cute. so the bagels are served warm and they pair incredibly well with the flavored smears. i found the flavors to be such a great balance of present, but not overpowering. qnd when they're paired with the hot bagels, it's absolutely incredible. for the bagels, every single one was incredible and they had such a good seed to bagel ratio. they were served warm and they were super super soft inside. i definitely recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. I've had plenty of bagels in my life nothing even remotely close to these. Came in for a bagel sandwich realized very quickly that is not the way they do things. The staff was quick to welcome me in and very patient and knowledgeable in answering all of my questions. You have to purchase three bagels and it makes sense since they come with a half a pound of cream cheese. I can only eat one 1.5 but was super excited to share with my co-works when I got back to the office and they also loved it! Hot, fresh, whole bagels straight out of the oven rip and dip style every 6-7 minutes. Genius

Yelp
Really good and fresh bagels! I don't love that you have to buy in multiples of three, plus a cream cheese, but oh well. The woman working at the register was nice.
