Solid diner! You get exactly what you expect and decent prices. Server obviously knew the menu and was helpful when I wanted a smaller breakfast. Food came out in about 10 minutes, quick. Hashbrowns were especially great and crispy.

Our first time visiting this tiny, quirky diner & we were pretty stoked on everything. Our timing was perfect because we didn’t have to wait. Our waitress was fantastic, as was the food. My husband had the scrambled eggs Benny with asparagus & avocado and even though he’s a weirdo who doesn’t like avocado he still loved this dish! I had the poached eggs over avocado on an English muffin (minus the tomato & salsa, thank you) & it was truly perfect. We will definitely eat here again the next time we’re in SF.

Great little place to stop and eat. We had breakfast and the waffle was just what I wanted. Atmosphere was pretty cool, I would definitely go back.

I love this place. You can indulge in homestyle comfort food like grandma made or choose lighter healthy veggie options. The sausage gravy is a little too much though. I could only eat 1/3 of it.

Very quick and efficient service when I dined at the counter. French Toast Piggy Special for my FT lovers. Add in some hash browns as a side and you have yourself a very hearty meal. Definitely earned a 2nd (& more) visit.

I have been to this establishment before many times but this is the first time I felt to leave a review. The server that took my order was lovely. I am assuming she is the child of immigrants based on her cut off sweatshirt. She was lovely. The reason for a 4 star review and overall 3 for the food was that my pork chops were not that amazing. They have never been and that is why I have taken so long to write this review. As a tip go early. There are less people.

Service was fantastic, they offered us coffee while we were waiting in line outside. They don't have reservations but we waited less than 10 minutes for a table. Service inside was just as good, our food arrived quickly. The spicy pork sausage was some of the best breakfast sausage we've ever had but it does make for some gnarly burps down the line.

We grabbed breakfast here while on our visit to San Francisco. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I got the eggs Benedict with Chile piquin sausage it was super flavorful and spicy. The hashbrowns are cooked to perfection. I also liked the fact that I was offered a to-go box to donate the food I did not touch to the homeless if I wanted to as I was not bringing it with me. Overall great experience here and the staff was super attentive and helpful. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Good and cute little diner in the Haight. The food is your typical breakfast fare and I enjoyed it a lot. The service is average nothing to complain about. If you're in the area and craving American diner food I'd recommend trying it out.

Great cheap eats! Big portion too. Get ready to eat when you're there. Friendly and fast service. They have this old timmy dinner vibe which I love. I will definitely look for this place next time I'm in SF again.

Okay I read the reviews about the service being authentic and awesome and was skeptical. No. It's all true. While my kids shopped on the Haight, I had the breakfast of my dreams - Sausage gravy over Biscuits, Bacon/Egg/Biscuit sandwich, rock solid grits (definitely not instant) and hashbrowns cooked to crunchy perfection. Biscuits were perfect. Bacon was thick cut and crispy. I'm so glad I don't live next door or I swear I would go every day. Sorry for the midmeal picture...It looks like a bear tore into my plate (it did).

Came here because I ended up scheduling a rental tour with a landlord who was also the owner. It seems to be a local breakfast staple. The place was packed and I sat elbow to elbow with other patrons at the counter. I ordered a mickey pancake which came with a cute design. The pancake was nice and fluffy. I also ordered a corned beef hash special with sourdough toast. The store lives up to its name and a lot of this entree was too greasy for my taste. I suspect they even cook the hash browns with healthy dose of lard. It was yummy but I think my stomach will hurt later.

Went around 1pm on a Saturday with a group of 5, and got seated within 10 minutes. It's a small diner, better for smaller groups- the tables are cramped when all the food comes out as their plates are pretty big. Service was friendly and they often refill water and coffee, though the food takes a bit of time to come out. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. Standard sized burrito, though the ratio of pico de gallo and sour creme only covers about half of the burrito. Think it misses the mark as the bacon and hash browns were pretty oily and lost their crisp, so the burrito was soft. Good service, reasonable prices, tasty good, and large portions. Gives you what you would expect from a classic diner.

Nothing like a hefty serving of biscuits and gravy on a dreary SF day. Came in on a rainy Saturday morning and snagged the last couple of seats at the counter. We ordered the southwest scramble, breakfast burrito, and a side of gravy to go with the biscuits that came with the scramble - a recommendation from our amazing server to save us some money and stomach room. The winners were the breakfast burrito and biscuit and gravy. The southwest scramble was also pretty good, but the other two overshadowed it for me. Positives about the scramble were that it was LOADED up with meat and that it came with hashbrowns. All food portions were super hefty though. Half of the burrito came home and sadly a bit of biscuit went uneaten. Back to our server - wow what a rad person! She was running the show, taking the time to connect with customers, keeping things moving, dealing with the homeless man that kept coming in, and doing so with a big smile and a positive attitude. Talk about stellar customer service! Overall consensus, great place to come if you want traditional and old school diner food at a reasonable price in the city. If you are coming here - come hungry!

This local cafe is the best breakfast place on Haight. Great menu, very vegetarian/vegan friendly. The biscuits and gravy is something you've got to try/share. Everything I've ever had here is spot on. Don't make too many special requests, as it's busy. The place is right on Haight. So it might be a little busy. But tables turn over quickly. So wait... The window seats are good for people watching. But sitting at the bar is an even better show, for people who like watching good food being made fast. Did I say the service is awesome? Cause it is.

I struggled with this review. For what it is, this is a five star place. Overall, maybe four? It's a 'greasy spoon'. The gate is heavy, meaty, greasy, and indulgent. We weren't wowed, but we have been on a health kick, so it was a bit much. So, if you want refinement and delicate flavor symphonies...this is not the place. If you want buttery, heavy, 'I can barely walk out of here', nailed it. I had the biscuits and gravy. Flavorful. Great biscuits. Gravy was a bit butter heavy for my taste. My wife had the corned beef and hash browns. Hash browns are potato perfection. The corned beef was a tad burned and Smokey. Pancakes were straight up divine, even if I couldn't finish them. No reservations. No list. You line up. You will NOT be seated without your whole party. Period. Nope. They will sometimes bring you coffee while you wait in line, so customer service points there.

A classic diner style breakfast with great service and tasty food! When we arrived we had a small wait but the waitress came out with coffee mugs and offered us coffee while we stood outside - something small that we really appreciated. Once seated it was an easy decision to go with the Pork Store special with hash browns and biscuits and my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak. I think I licked my plate clean! The pork chops could've been a tad jucier but overall it was a quality breakfast for a bangin' price! The hash browns where amazing and the biscuits were fresh and tasty. The chicken fried steak was awesome! The sauce came with it was outstanding and I kept leaning over to dip my biscuits in it. The staff were all super attentive and I don't think my coffee mug was ever empty. I can't wait to come back and enjoy another good old fashioned breakfast!

SO YUM. if you're craving a big hearty breakfast this diner is the place to go. Once I sat down, I took a look at the menu and couldn't decide, everything looked too good! We ended up getting the Eggs in a Tasty Nest (2 eggs, tomatoes, onions, peppers, cheese over hash browns) and the breakfast quesadilla. Both were fantastic. Our server was fabulous, super friendly and gave great recommendations. Loved this spot and would come back

The smog check for my Tacoma pick-up truck was due and I was in the neighborhood at Quality Tune-up on Fell St. Too bad their smog machine is broken and I went to the Pork Store because I knew they would be open early and I could sit down and find another smog check station. Although I wanted to try their other dishes, I often find myself ordering the same thing since everything taste better with country gravy. Biscuits and gravy it is. I mean, you wouldn't order biscuits and gravy and a cheeseburger?! That would be weird. In addition, their pork chops are just so darn good, it is hard to deviate. When I was taking photos of the beautiful biscuits and gravy, the young waitress recognized me from last time because of my Yelp photos. How funny. I've never had anyone recogize me before from my Yelp bisuits and gravy photos before. Regardless, the food was excellent. The chefs here know their brunch dishes. Better than their 16th St. location. Service was excellent. Good job everyone at the Pork Store.

We love the pork store on Valencia and the one on 16th. The pork store on Haight Street is nasty. The store itself is filthy and extremely cramped. There's nothing good about this location. Service was ok. Take the time to go to one of the other two locations.

I stopped here after work one day and had a lovely breakfast. The ambiance is great. The service was fantastic. I left satisfied. The food could of been better.

Let's start with 18% added on the bill for gratuity for a table of 5. Wtf. Do you do that to all tables? I give 1 star for the man who I think was the owner or manager, who clearly saw how pissed of the server made me so he did everything he could to rectify the situation. My friends and I arrived with no line and asked for a table for 5. They asked us to wait and once a table was ready they'd let us know. After about 25 minutes and tons of people sat before us, we asked what was going on and were told they only had 2 tables that could accommodate a party of 5. So 3 friends walked across the street to check out a store while my husband and I waited. Immediately after, the server came out to tell us she had a table but when seeing our whole party wasn't there she said you all have to be present to be sat.. "I'll hold the table for 2 minutes but then I'm sitting someone else." So when she came back out and our friends still weren't there I told her it's fine just sit my husband and I, were ready to eat. She then started arguing with me!! Saying she wasn't going to seat the 2 of us because we were actually a party of 5. Like suddenly I'm not allowed to go in the restaurant to eat. Rolling her eyes and insisting we couldn't now be a party of 2. She was so bi*chy and extremely rude after we just waited in line for 30 minutes! Another server came out and took over, I told them my husband and I just wanted a table at this point so he sat us. As soon as we walked to the table in the back (that could comfortably accommodate 4) our friends walked in and having no idea what was going on joined us at the table. The manager at that point (who I'm sure heard the arguing with the server) told the other server to get us another chair so we could all sit at the table. Mind you bi*ch brains turned around and sat a party of 2 immediately after us at the table for 5. So she had to spend the next hour squeezing her way through the space that was now occupied by the extra seat placed at our small table. Talk about no logic. Furthermore the food wasn't great. I ordered a spicy sausage plate which was extremely spicy, but disgustingly greasy. I didn't even bother taking a photo because the food looked less then appealing. I'd suggest one of the thousand other brunch spots in SF to spend your money.

This was a great experience. I heard about this place for years, but never made it. There was a line as early as 10 in the morning so gird your loins kids. We were seated right in front of the grill so it was cool seeing how the "sausage gets made" see what I did there?!? I got the Scralifornia with a side of the spicy pork sausage(because how can I come to the PORK store and not try pork). Watching the food get made had me regretting not adding hash browns. It was a really great experience. I love coming places that have regulars. The stained glass is beautiful & the line(if you find yourself in one) is worth it.

TLDR: rating is based on a bad experience, food is good. Came here for brunch on Sunday morning and it was PACKED! We were a group of 5 & waited for about 20-30mins for seating. Didn't mind the wait too much, since it's a small brunch spot & busy -- very understandable. I really liked that there were a lot of different meat and vegetarian options. The food was super filling and absolutely delicious. However, we felt the service was a bit lacking as we were rarely checked in with & ignored for most of our time there. When the check came it was $52 for 3 girls who had ordered $12/13 meals each. At first, we didn't question it because we thought maybe they had included the bill of the other 2 (who were seated by the bar due to limited space). But when we checked in with them, they said they had already paid. We called over a server, who just said she would check it for us. We see her talk to the person who took our order and things being crossed out on the order paper? When we get our receipt back, they just say "this should be the correct one now" and just don't acknowledge that they messed up or anything? Our bill ended up being $42. We were annoyed at the lack of service AND now the lack of respect. Willing to give this another chance because of the food and hoping this was just a one time thing.

My boyfriend and I went to have breakfast this morning, I have got to tell you it doesn't deserve a 1 star !!! Horrible experience! We used to live in the Haight for many years and we've been there so many times in the past and it was always been a great spot to eat, until today! Our bill came to $36 and we shouldn't have paid a penny. Bring back the old cooks please! We won't be going back here again, very disappointed

Love this place! It's my new go-to breakfast spot. Old school diner vibe with bar stools and tiny tables, amazing food not just for meat eaters but for vegetarians as well, that serves strong coffee. Shout out to the waitress ( I think her name is Lynn? - from Luxembourg) who runs the joint smooth. I have never seen someone carry 3 plates on 1 arm, then another plate on the other arm while taking orders via a phone squeezed between her shoulder and chin, walking and serving the food. And someone on top of all of this she manages to keep the hot coffee filled to the very top of every customer's mug all the time. What we ate: - French Toast with fruit (amazing) - Chile pequin sausage breakfast (super spicy, order it only if you want a nice burn and enjoy jalapeños on the regular). If you sit at the bar you can see the grill masters. Street parking can be tough but it's worth the pain. The restaurant is tiny but you the turnaround and seating is fast.

Oh my gosh! Was on a morning run and wanted real corned beef and hash. I remembered my friend raved about the Pork Store and how I lived close, so I swung by and was not disappointed. I got the house made corned beef with a biscuit and you could taste all the spices in the corned beef and the biscuit was buttery and flaky. I loved how you could watch the cooks cooking behind the bar. It was such an old school vibe but so, so, so good! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good old fashioned breakfast!

Update: I originally gave this place 2 stars bc of a bad service experience but I'm changing it to 4, because the owner contacted me and we texted back and forth about what happened. He seemed very concerned about the situation, he said he talked to the waitress, and was very apologetic about the whole thing. He really seems to care about the customer service, so I appreciated he contacting me, apologizing and explaining without making any excuses. So I'm just taking one star bc of the bad service. I don't want to hurt a family business for, what I hope was, a bad day of the waitress.

Disgusting little spot..so dirty and untidy..they forgot my greasy sausage...burnt fries and staff are nasty old ladies that i caught laughing at a customer..and they even billed me as i was eating...i hate that,.. the place is filthy..menus are filthy too...i wont be back..

We were so hungry and they took us in just before closing kindly, we knew what we wanted and it was so worth the wait. We had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns both so good!! The breakfast burritos are also good i had previous visit to the area. When we asked shop locals where to go for breakfast and they said pork store almost immediately. Understandable why. The staff was also so friendly. Definitely recommend and would return if back in town.

I've been coming here every Sunday for brunch with a group of friends. Pretty much everything on the menu for breakfast is exceptionally good. They're one of the few places around the city, where I can get biscuits and gravy as a side item as well as many other sides. Again pretty much every item I've had for breakfast across the menu has been fantastic. You order and pay as you walk in the door and they give you a number for your table. There's almost always space and there are a few outdoor tables in the back. If other people in your group arrive, and you have a number on the table, they just use the one that exists . It's a pretty smooth system when we have people trickling in slowly.

Sat at the bar after a long run and in much need of replenishment. The servers promptly took my order and were attentive and friendly throughout. I had the pork store special with biscuits and a side of gravy. It was the hearty meal I was after -- mixing the pork with a bit of egg yolk and some gravy made for a delicious bite. The place seemed to be steeped in history, having the feel of a classic American diner. I will be back to try more dishes on their menu.

Finally able to dine here again. Proof of vax is required for seating. One waitstaff on the day we came for breakfast working the tables and counter. You'll find regulars here on weekdays. Hubby got his usual Eggs Benedict. I ordered the chicken fried steak but forgot to ask for the gravy on the side. Had to scrape off the gravy. It was good but too much gravy. The steak was nicely battered and tasty. I asked for the hash browns to be extra crispy and it was sooo good that way. Sadly, the biscuits are smaller and didn't taste as good as in the past when it was flaky, buttery and soft. The biscuits tasted bland and drier than I remembered. Our waitstaff was nice but stretched a little thin. She offered a cup of coffee for hubby to take with him and he loved that. So glad we could return to dine in again.

Wow! I had a great experience sitting at the bar. We got to watch all the orders being cooked, which was super interesting. I would pay just to watch them cook! Service was excellent! Our waitress was funny, attentive, and impressed me with her management of the whole bar. She kept our coffees full and even sent us home with some. I loved our food. I got French Toast, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. Portions were quite large. Everything was cooked to perfection, especially the eggs and bacon! This felt like an old fashioned diner experience, would recommend for anyone seeking a pleasant and hearty breakfast!

We love Lynn!!! Pork Store Cafe is our favorite dining experience in San Francisco. The quality and consistency is always amazing, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Lynn's Benedict is my fav dish on the menu, I've never had a better egg-anything. My girlfriend is obsessed with the chocolate chip pancakes. And Lynn herself is amazing!! She's the main reason we've come back almost every weekend for a year now (and it's our fav breakfast food in the city!) She makes us feel at home The cafe itself is super warm and welcoming, the perfect environment for a lovely meal with friends. Thank you Pork Store Cafe!!!

If they could disable the door thingy that would be awesome. Still worthy of 5 stars though.. The one with black hair and a funny accent made for a warm welcome. Good service.. Good food.. Good times Def my new breakfast spot!

Cute little diner on Haight across from Piedmont. Tight fit, but clean and neat eccentric place. I tried the biscuits and gravy and got a big plate with enough for a meal. Was no flavor to the gravy unfortunately. My daughter had the Mickey pancake which came with a cute fruit face and chocolate chips. I tried the pancake and it was rubbery, but she liked it, so all good. My son had the grilled cheese and fries which were both very good! I'd definitely order that next time.

My brother took me here for breakfast on my last day in SF. He was so adamant about going so I figured it must be good. The best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Mine were served with hash browns, sourdough toast, and scrambled eggs topped with cheddar. Perfect way to end the trip. The service was fast and friendly. Our server was Lynn, such a sweetheart! Serious don't sleep on this place. I was full but didn't want to stop eating, it was that good.

I am here on vacation and found that this restaurant is reasonably priced compared to the other restaurants in the city. The food quality is absolutely better than food I've paid more than double for. We were going to order more and found out that the portions are very plentiful. I got thr porky special with hash brown added for $2. The two slices of Texas toast and 2 scramble eggs (cooked well and seemed like extra large eggs) and hash browns Fried. Perfection! The nested eggs in hash browns was HUGE! All items were around $9-13. Go here! Go support! The quality is superb. The space is small so don't take a huge group. No more than 4.

We popped in here early Monday morning and found seats right at the counter. I always love sitting right at the counter so I'm close to the flattop grill action. Right away, I love the pig decor and old diner vibes. The menu is plenty big but we're here for breakfast - I order huevos rancheros with home fries and it came out pretty quickly. The homemade salsa and chorizo was a little spicy but I like it that way, the portion was big and it was just so tasty. We had probably half a plate worth of food leftover and were encouraged to take it to go and leave it out from the store for the homeless. Nobody was really lingering out there but we were told that they know the drill, come walk by and grab the hot leftovers. This is not something I'm used to back home so I thought it was really a nice thing to do. Definitely go check out Pork Store for some breakfast and some good karma!

Ordered the corn beef hash which came with eggs, biscuits, and hash browns. The biscuits were warm, fresh, and amazing. The food was phenomenal. And the service was great. They have a cute little bar area that appeared to have good looking blood mary's if you're into them. And different beers to choose from.

We have been wanting to try the Pork Store but it's always so busy but yesterday we braved the line to get some greasy food to help our hangovers, lol. Once we got seated and got menus we realized why there was a constant line on weekends. The food is so cheap and the waitress was awesome, kept our coffee refilled until we had to say no more please. We both got the bacon breakfast burrito with all the sides and the tab was about 30 bucks. Bargain in this town! Can't wait to go back!

HOLY MOLY! So glad we bumped into this place and it wasn't too crowded. We were seated as soon as we walked in, ordered and our food was served within 5 minutes. The decor is comfy and cute. Condiments all over the table so there was nothing we needed to ask for. My friend asked for ranch and they served a whole bottle! Where else can you say they do that at?! I ordered the Tasty Nest w/ a biscuit and a side of canned corned beef (I prefer canned over homemade, don't judge). My friend ordered the turkey sando and egg white omelette with toast. Everyone loved their dishes and their biscuit was super soft! Reasonable prices and huge portions. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would definitely be back.

I was brought to Pork Store Cafe with a friend and I have to admit, at first I was not sure what type of place we were going to based off the name. But it ended up being good! I really liked the linguisa link, with hash browns, and eggs!! The restaurant itself is pretty small, it has that small country diner feel to it. Good for small groups. I didn't see mimosas on the menu which I think would be a nice thing to offer for breakfast.

Their menu is all I want in brunch and more! So much to choose from, but my boyfriend and I settled on the eggs in a nest (with biscuits) and the french toast with fruit. Bless his heart for sharing savory and sweet things with me. Our waitress was super sweet and split our eggs in a nest on two plates without us asking. We each enjoyed a nice pile of hash browns, bacon cooked to perfection, and sauteed peppers and onion topped with a fried egg. We also each had a biscuit- they are homemade and yummy. I slathered mine with blackberry preserves and he used butter and honey (all at the table). Once we finished our savory meal we moved on to the french toast. Two thick pieces of bread topped with a very healthy serving of banana slices, blueberries, strawberries, and homemade whipped cream. I loved the abundance of fresh fruit, and it was a perfect end to the meal. Overall, I was very satisfied with our choices and would be curious to see if other meals stack up! The only reason I do not give this place 5 stars is for the wait system. There really is none (that I know of). I've heard this place gets pretty busy, and you basically just have to wait outside. I didn't even see a sign-up sheet. Luckily, we only had 2 couples in front of us and we were able to sit down in 5 minutes, but I would hesitate to drop by with a larger group on weekends.

Our favorite plate was the chicken fried steak. The gravy was amazing. However, we didn't care for the corned beef hash. The waitresses were awesome and kept making sure our coffee was topped off which was nice. There are a variety of hot sauces at table.

This is my wife and I go to spot for breakfast... we love the food. We've brought friends and family from everywhere and they all say the same thing. Giant portions and my person favorite biscuits and gravy!

This is one of the best southern style dinners in the city. Bacon is fantastic. They serve grits (californium's google it). The the pigs in a tasty nest is a awesome as well. I recommend everything here. The service is wonderful as well.

i eat here at least once a month! my partner and i have tried all the breakfast places on haight- this is the best! HUGE portions! fun atmosphere! great food! timely service. plus i love that they give you coffee in line :)
