Porkchop Edgewater

The service was good. They made sure we didn't need anything. The place was pretty empty, though. The food was just ok. I would not consider this a BBQ Joint, though. The tips seemed boiled and then added hickory or smoke to it. Love tips but this wasn't it for me. The brisket was dry and even with the very tasty sauce, it was still dry. The fries were good. The cole slaw was OK. They did have other stuff going on there so that might be a better reason to come! My Backyard Iced Tea was good. The lemon drop drink was another ok. The owner/manager came by and very nice and welcoming!

After years of being nothing, I was so happy to finally see the empty storefront turn into a restaurant with an awesome (and very large) bar! Porkchop is still working through some kinks (the service was slow), but this should be expected with a brand new restaurant. I am fully confident this will get figured out, and most importantly, the food was fantastic! The brisket was especially excellent, and I highly recommend the nachos! Can't wait to check out all of the weekly specials!

The atmosphere of this place and the music venue is awesome! The food is definitely some of the worst I’ve eaten. This “5 cheese” Mac and cheese was 15 dollars. It used barilla pasta and that crummy amount of meat was 5 of the 15 dollars spent. The sauce was so watery and bland. To be fair, the barilla was cooked well.

Ordered from this restaurant on Uber Eats and was sorely disappointed. Both the Rib Tips and Pulled Pork were listed as being 1/2lb portions, and when they arrived, neither were the weight promised- I have a kitchen scale, I weighed the portions that were received and my meal was 6.1 oz. A pound is 16oz. On top of that, both meats were burned beyond being eddible, and more fat and bone than meat. Even my cat who eats EVERYTHING sniffed a piece of meat and wouldn’t eat it! The only reason I am not giving this place a one star review is because the fries are good. I ordered mashed potatoes and what I got was Mac n cheese sauce with potato wedges in it. I am disappointed and will never be ordering from or eating here again.

Good food & nice atmosphere. Some of the best fried pickles we've had in a while. The brisket and waffles were tasty as well.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and they were out of brisket, burnt ends and ribs. Our server told us they were in process of defrosting meat, @ 3pm on a Sunday. 🤯 Had rib tips, pulled pork and sausage. None of them were impressive. The tips were dry and the pork was flavorless. You can tell the meat wasn't smoked. And the sausage was standard Hillshire Farms that you can get from the grocery store. Also had the beans, greens and cornbread. Beans were okay, they tasted like pork-n-beans with meat in them. The greens were dry. As in no liquid. I think they were sautéed. Strange, but their flavor was okay. The cornbread was still cold from being in the refrigerator. I don't think this location actually cooks food on-site. Extremely disappointing. I don't think they will make it through the summer if the quality stays this way.

Had a good experience here! Coleslaw wasn’t my favorite and the ribs weren’t super tender. Their sauce/seasoning had great flavor, pickles were awesome and crisp, cornbread was a good portion and yummy/not too sweet! Old fashion was delicious. Nice area all around inside. Would definitely come back for some drinks and to try other menu items!

Do not order from this place on Uber eats. I was excited to order but when the food arrived what a disappointment. After spending over $100.00 and seeing the portion sizes it is definitely not worth it. I ordered elotes and what i received was one ear of corn cut into 4 small pieces and I was charges $9.00 do t order the 3 meat platter the the chicken and pulled pork are decent but the brisket is super tough. Hushpuppies are small but tasty and the corn bread is dry, also the mashed potatoes are kinda vinegary. Also ordered the catfish and the nuggets were no bigger than a chicken nugget. Needless to say that we tried the food but I do not recommend since most of the food went in the trash. When i called the restaurant the bartender was a jerk and not helpful at all. 😞

Pretty good place for a big group on a Friday. Food is pretty good! To be fair we ordered a ton of appetizers for our office group and they did a great job with ticket times too! We had hush puppies, fried pickles, fried ribs, brisket nachos, and catfish nuggets. Almost everything was good! My only feedback is that the chips used for the brisket nachos seemed store bought, but the brisket and other things on it was really good! The drinks were great though! Ordered myself two double shots neat and a few shots with the coworkers. And the bartender was hella cool too. Wouldn't mind coming back! Hope to try the actual menu soon!

Wait staff was incredibly kind, quick, and gave off great vibes. The reason it only gets 3 stars is the actual BBQ itself. Brisket was rather tough and felt like it had been warmed up in a flat top or microwave and lacked seasoning. Pulled pork was the same script. Rubbery and poorly seasoned. Thank you staff for your hospitality!

22-May-2024 Stopped in for the Cloud 9 show. The bar staff was inexperienced making rookie mistakes such as serving wine in a rocks glass, not knowing how much things cost or what was available. A pint of Lagunitas was $10. They didn't know how to work the credit card machine, wait on drinks were forever because of this. They couldn't keep track if you had a tab open or not. It was a horrible experience had by me and my 10 friends I had with me, all had similar complaints and their own micro stories to tell about how bad it was. ATM was out and paying to see the band was an ordeal as well, (not their fault) Simply horrible. Band was good though.

I never expected to start a review raving about the Cole slaw, but here we are. Guys, I love this Cole slaw. And this is no thimble-full the way a lot of places serve Cole slaw. This was a big, hearty serving of cabbage and carrots and onions and peppers with a real Cole slaw dressing! Not too sweet, not too bland. We picked up an order of the 3 meat combo-- pulled pork, brisket, and hot links. 2 sides (both Cole slaw!) For $26.99, it was a great deal, making four meals for us. None of the meats amounted to the best barbecue I ever had, but it was very good, and I would get it again. The meats were all smokey and came with a solid Kansas City style (I think?) sauce. A little sweet and spicy, with a touch of vinegar. I notice some bad reviews focused on the brunch service/menu. Whatever. Brunch is for suckers. Anyone who has ever worked in food service can tell you that brunch was invented to get rid of whatever garbage remains at the end of the week. We plan to go back and eat there, and if my impression changes, I'll let you know. But we couldn't help but notice a massive bar. Which always makes the food taste better, right?

We ordered takeout from here. The menu says that the barbecue is served with a pickle, slaw garnish, and a slice of bread. When we opened the container it just had the meat. When we called about back about it, the person on the phone said, "It doesn't come with anything." When we said we were staring at the menu, they responded with, "The menu's wrong." So they expect you to pay $17.99 for 1/2 of meat, pickle, slaw garnish, and bread, but they only give you the meat. Total ripoff and horrible customer service.

The sloooowest service, tiny portions, inadequate bar (you have a full bar but can't make a bloody mary on a Sunday afternoon?), entrees come out before apps, "new chef" made completely wrong item, etc. Guess there's a reason this place is practically empty when you go in.

Food was pretty good, but it a bit expensive for the Edgewater area, in my opinion. My husband and I shared the meat platter and wanted to add one piece of sausage to try on the side, but was given two for $11. Pricey, but it is what it is, I guess. Server was nice, but seemed a bit new to serving. Hopefully when it gets warmer out and busier at restaurants, she will fill mor comfortable. My biggest suggestion is that they rework the online menu. It is extremely confusing, they do not have any drinks on there besides cocktails and the drop down menu barely worked. I'll come back to see how the specials are and if that would win me over for another meal.

Porkchop has been open in this area for roughly a week and it has a lot of potential. Like most people in the area we have seen Porkchop being built. I was excited when they finally turned on the open signs and quickly planned my visit. The inside of the restaurant is large. The restaurant is split into two sides, one is near the bar area and the other side is a little quieter and gives your group a little more privacy. They offer high top seating at the bar which has a ton of seats. The waitresses when I visited all seemed to be Loyola students which I really appreciated. Our waitress was very friendly albeit a little nervous but she did a great job. Porkchop seems to be a seat yourself setup, not sure if it'll change as they mature. Since Porkchop just opened I wanted to try a few of the smoked meats and ended up ordering the three meat sampler. I picked out the brisket, pulled pork, and rib tips but they substituted them for ribs for the same price. I wanted to try the ribs originally so it worked out for me. I was surprised by the portion sizes of the sides. In all seriousness the food took over the majority four top table my party sat at and it was only two of us. The macaroni and cheese was massive, I was expecting a small cup but they used a mini casserole dish. The collard greens came in a nice sized bowl as well. The meat portions for the sampler were also a nice size. I ended up getting three solid meals from my dish and that was after giving my entire macaroni and cheese size to my husband. I do have to echo the previous review about the food being cold. I was disappointed that everything except the collard greens were cold but I took it as them trying to adjust to making enough food to suit the crowd size. I will say that the food was still very good. The collard greens were surprisingly tasty and they had a little bit of a kick. I was initially nervous about ordering it but I would've kicked myself if I hadn't after trying them. The macaroni and cheese was not my favorite. I am picky about my macaroni and cheese so I don't see myself trying it again but it got good reviews from the other person from my table. I throughly enjoyed the ribs during my visit. I enjoyed the ribs and the rest of the meats after warming them up at home the next day even more. Outside of food I ordered the peach smash and was able to try some of the Old Fashioned. Both drinks were tasty. I could easily see myself ordering the Old Fashioned the next time I visit. The last thing that I absolutely must highlight about Porkchop is that they play country music. I love country music so I was an instant fan! I am looking forward to visiting Porkchop after they have an time to mature a little more. I hope it has a long successful future in the area because I need more country music and good BBQ in my life!

Nice looking establishment. Whatever you do do not play slots. If you put $20 in the machine and only play $5 you will not get your $15 back. The owner will play dumb if you confront him about it. Therefore I will not be returning. I don't spend my money with slicksters.

Food, staff, owner, management is the worst! When this place closed awhile back it should have stayed closed! The food is horrible.. I worked there for a couple days and behind the bar was the worst inhave ever seen.. it was sticky and nothing had been cleaned. Broken glass, so many fruit flies! All glasses were mix matched!! And there was a hole behind the bar where you could see the basement, only half the bar sinks worked! Kitchen was a mess, owner is a complete asshole and no one know what they are doing! Avoid this place ! Not worth the money for crap food or service that sucks.

Be careful, they have recently closed due to a failed health inspection. Along with firing multiple chefs and several cases of health concerns, these were additional compliance failures of theirs: Other violations found during the inspections: no fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in the speakeasy; two of three exits signs not in working order; a rear exit door blocked by a heavy curtain; open sewer drains; and operating an interior staircase without two hand railings. Furthermore, the owner has been sued, closed his previous LLC due to the court hearings, and recently assaulted his guests. Police were called on him and charges are waiting to be pressed.

As promised we tried Porkchop again and I hate to say it was worse this time around. First off we went because they advertised some March Madness specials. When we arrived the games weren't even on, the staff didn't even know about any of the specials and when they eventually got it turned to the right channel, there was no audio and the picture quality was terrible. If you don't want to be a sports bar that is totally fine, but don't advertise for a game that you don't even play on having on. The atmosphere is so depressing. They play soft folk rock and I'm not looking for club music but when you're located a block from a college campus and it's a Saturday night at 7pm, you're definitely not getting anyone in the door. Our drinks took 20 minutes to get to us and were overpriced. There were only 4 other people in the place. The hush puppies were very good, but the meats were nothing special, fries were soggy, and our entree took forever to get to us. We were in the restaurant for an hour and 45 minutes which is ridiculous for having one round of drinks, an appetizer, and one entree. We were so happy to leave and walk down the street to Bulldog. Unfortunately we're out of giving this place chances, even though it's a total shame because with better staffing, advertising, and environment, this place could be incredible.

So disappointed in this restaurant. I always hold places that call themselves southern to a high regard, but no. I ordered delivery and ordered 2 meats ( burnt ends and rib tips) with fries and red beans and rice. I also ordered their Porkchop on a stick. So first. The burnt ends and rib tips. No. The tips were basically inedible with gristle and fat. The burnt ends weren't burnt ends at all and just sliced peices it fatty gross brisket. NONE of the meat had any color that would tell us it was smoked or properly seasoned. The bbq sauce coating it was mid at best. I was super disappointed in opening this. My dog seemed to like it tho ‍ The fries were dry and old tasting, like the grease had been used hundreds of times. The rice was black beans first, instead of the red beans advertised. It also had a strong smell that reminded me of insecticide instead of foods. I did NOT eat that. Gross Only thing semi good was the Porkchop on a stick. You can't really mess up a fried Porkchop lol. It lacked seasoning but still had a decent flavor, that I would probably say was the older grease. This is the only thing I ate from a 44 dollar meal. Yeah probably will never hit this restaurant up again. But Goodluck if y'all do ‍

Was in rogers park visiting some buddies a while back, bbq sounded good so we decided to check out porkchop. Although the reviews didn't look promising, we decided to still give it a chance anyway. BIG MISTAKE. I am usually not one to write reviews but this was hands down the worst dining experience I have had ever had. People working were a weird vibe, wasn't greeted by anyone upon our entrance, food wasn't good at all, yet we spent upwards of $200. Insane. Do not recommend to my worst enemy

This place is truly bonkers. I've been twice since this last review. Let me emphasize LAST review. I keep giving this place chances (despite the fact that the restaurant has never reached out and tried to make my bad previous experiences right). 1) I messaged on Instagram to see if they were offering WiFi at their restaurant. They said they'd give it to me. I went in and the restaurant seemed abandoned. After looking around I found a worker in the back. They did give me a WiFi code and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and beer. The sandwich was pretty decent. The service was fine. Okay, 2) Brunch, is my favorite meal, and this neighborhood has very few brunch places, so I decided to stop in for Sunday brunch. I walked in at 11:43 (they open at 11:00) and not a soul was at the bar or in the room. Music was thumping at a deafening level. I went exploring and found a single worker sitting at a back table on her phone. "Umm excuse me, are you open?" "What?" "Are you open for business?l "yes, but the bartender is... somewhere. Sorry." "Ummm...okay, I'll wait at the bar." I decided to wait for ten minutes. No check ins, offer of water, to see the menu? Etc. not sure what that one employees role is?? Just as I was getting ready to leave the bartender strolls in with a convenience store bag saying "sorry my man, *inaudible*. He ducks behind the bar, doesn't ask if I'm interested in food or a drink, slaps down the beer menu and points to what they have on draft. I asked if they were serving Sunday brunch still and he was like "huh?" I asked again and he said "no, just the regular menu" ...Okay, well I'm going to go find some eggs, my man. I really really wanted this place to work. The BBQ is pretty good and the space is massive. To be clear, I've not once gone in when there is a worker behind the bar or greeting people, and I think I've only seen two or three customers in here tops. And just to remind you - two of the last three times I've come in during business hours, there has not been an employee present on premise that was able to serve food/drink. How did they f this up so bad? Something has gone massively, egregiously wrong having a massive, empty restaurant, on a Sunday at noon, next to a college campus, when every other restaurant in the area is bursting at the seams. This was the last chance, Porkchop.

Don't waste your time or money here. Very mediocre food at a ridiculous price point for what you get. The server/bartender on Sunday night, while nice enough, seemed oblivious and uninterested. The overall experience made it clear why the restaurant is empty, and will probably stay that way.

Health inspector closed this place down . Said it was a nuisance and dangerous. The food was average to good but the service was usually pretty bad I was the only one in there and it took forever to get my food

Smells like smoked meat! We went just before 4 on a Friday and we were the only ones there! If you walk to the second room there is lower seating, if you hate high seating like me. We started with the bang bang shrimp ($13.99) it was good split between two. They serve the sauce on the side and the shrimp were nice and crispy. Served on a bed of spinach which I personally loved! I got the 3 meat combo, $26.99, so I could have left overs! It was definitely two meals. Pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends were all great! The sides we tried were also delicious, I think I liked the mashed potatoes best! Then the cornbread and mac and cheese. The red wine I choose was between $12-$10 a glass. My only complaint was their was a piece of bread on the tray as well, but it was under things so it got so soggy and I didn't even try to eat it, would prefer if it was on the side next time, so I would ask for that! All in all I think its very fair price for BBQ. Can't wait to go back!

Everyone warned us not to go. It was worse than we imagined. Saturday evening 6 pm one bartender and one waitress who was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. We found a table after we walked in and no one said a word. 15 minutes later the waitress said she'd grab us some water and be by to take our order. Another 10 minutes she returns to take our order. Waters never arrived. At least another 15 minutes before we get our drinks. We're missing 1. It never comes. 45 minutes later half of our food comes out, cold and over cooked. The burnt ends on one plate looked like chopped paper bags (so gross). We had 2 kids with us who both ordered French fries. Those came out 10 minutes later. Over 2 hours, we had to get our 2nd round of drinks directly from the "bartender" who arrived about an hour after we got there. She used the same shot glass for all drinks so my vodka tasted like a mix of booze. The ladies restroom was so gross even the soap container was sticky on the outside. Honestly cannot think of a single good thing to say about this place. There used to be a Porkchop in Avondale that we loved. The food was always amazing. This is not the same place. This is sad. Do not waste your time or money.

Don't waste your time or money. We walked by this place earlier in the day and it smelled lovely. However when we chanced going back we were greeted with a young lady while seeming nice and sweet, also seemed as though she had very little formal training of the menu nor the drinks. Several times she had to check, what's on tap, what's in something, etc. Ok, fine, just takes time. We all ordered and were waiting when our brisket Mac and cheese came out it looked 'ok'. My husband and I dig and are met with a sour rotten taste. When I asked the server, she talked to 'chef' who says it's the Asiago cheese that is pungent. No, that was absolutely rotten cream sauce. Even after this, we were charged full price for food we took two bites each. I was honestly shocked that we didn't feel sick after the little we did eat. Please I urge you, do NOT spend your money here. Also warm beer and music that was V incredibly loud and while some may enjoy the grunge was not our style.

Stay away....stay far far away. Stopped in Saturday at 1230 and the place was deserted. We got a beer, a bloody, burnt ends, smoked wings and a side of fries. The fries weren't cooked, the chicken tasted rancid and the burnt ends were dry and inedible. There was one person working in the entire place and although he was wonderful, the rest was too much to overlook. Was really hoping for a great new spot in the neighborhood it's just a shame this isn't it ‍

The quality of the food was good. However, the portions wasn't worth the prices, the food lacked seasonings, and the bbq didn't have the same type of bbq sauce being served in the container versus on the bbq meat. It was very disappointing especially paying over $100 for two ppl who left unsatisfied. The shrimp fettuccine was served on a cold plate which caused our pasta to eventually become cold after 5-10 minutes of being served. For $21, you only get a small portion and it's not worth it. The fried pickles and bang bang shrimp was really good for the appetizers and seasoned really well. The ambiance was a nice vibe over all. I personally would go back for the appetizers and the drinks. If you decide to order meals, bring your own seasonings or hot sauce in your bag because it's not giving Southern cuisine. Maybe it was an off day for the cooks but our first experience left us unimpressed.

Came on a rainy weeknight the place was empty. Pulled pork sandwich was good and fried pickles pretty decent and draft beer. Single bartender/waiter for a large space can't imagine if one or two big groups came in. Didn't try the pork specialties like tips or brisket. I will give it another try.

I was excited to get takeout from this place since it opened recently close to me. Ordered the brisket and hotlink combo and got the toughest brisket I've ever had in my life. Think thinly sliced overcooked diner steak. The red beans and rice were gluey and had next to no seasoning, the hot links weren't hot, pretty disappointing meal.

Pricy but chill. And what place on Broadway isn't? I was in the mood for BBQ brisket, but the bartender turned me onto the southern options. Seems like a place for college students. Surprised with a full bar it's not open later. But I left before close to who knows. Food was good, service was good. And I enjoyed the ambience. Will definitely come back to try to the brisket. Update to my previous post. Came back a week later on a Friday night. Place was dead. I was told it was cause there was a new area in the back being opened and I could go check it out. But then some euro trash that appeared to be a manager blocked me and told me it was invite only. Ordered the BBQ brisket but it was bland and not good. Maybe their saving the best parts for those with an invite.

I was eager to try this new spot in our neighborhood but, man, what a disappointment. The beef brisket was dry and tough and practically unseasoned (and not served with sauce of any kind). Pale, cakey cornbread that didn't taste like much of anything, much less corn. The place couldn't even turn out a decent vinaigrette for the salad. Overall: Amateurish. Bland food. Watery, flavorless drinks. I'll try it again in a couple of months to see if they've ironed out the problems in the kitchen and with the service. If not, this joint will get a hard pass.

Service was great, however the food was very bad. The ribs were dry and cold, my fries were also stone cold. Probably the worst "bbq" I've ever had. I would stay far away unless you want to eat something when you're absolutely shit faced.

Wow. Don't worry, I got my party of four water, no one came to us so me and my 83 year old father went to the bar to gather them. Um. Good luck I think?

This newly opened BBQ spot is just a few days open and I think it will be a win once they get staffed up and iron out the flaws. You can taste all the potential in this food...Everything had a nice flavor but unfortunately all the food came out cold and yet still tasted very good...I could only imagine how amazing this BBQ would have been at least somewhat warm temps...The brisket had nice fat rendering and the burnt ends were sweet and savory but unfortunately being served cold took away...I was hoping that maybe the BBQ sauce in the squirt bottle would be warm and save these meats but no that was cold as well, as if it just came out of the refrigerator. Long story short I will be back after a few months to see if food is now served warm...If this BBQ along with Mac and cheese had been warm I would have given this place a perfect score.

Went for brunch, overall good time. Pros: food was delicious and great service. Cons: - Brunch is on a cheap piece of paper - The selection is very limited, they don't include a lot that is on the online menu but I was able to get this ribs and they were outstanding - it's very loud, because the music is so loud everyone else is trying to talk over it. I will definitely go back for dinner.

I came here for lunch on a weekday with my brother. I was frustrated that we had to use the QR code to view the menu, as the menu was really hard to navigate online with multiple dropdown menus. I say this as a relatively tech savvy person. It is also frustrating that the drinks menu (once you could navigate to it online) only consisted of booze. We asked about other options and there was a very small selection of sodas. We ordered the hush puppies to share, and I ordered pulled pork. My brother and I shared the mac and cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread. The hush puppies were tasty and hot out of the fryer. The pulled pork was good. I thought it was a little strange it didn't come with BBQ sauce, I had to ask for that. So remember to ask for sauce. The mac and cheese was good. The cole slaw was also fine. Note that if you get a BBQ plate, it comes with cole slaw, no need to get another side of it. My BBQ was supposed to come with sliced bread, but it was missing from the plate. I already felt like I had asked about the drinks, asked for sauce, asked for napkins and silverware...didn't really feel like asking for the missing item. The cornbread side was fine, a bit dry. It didn't come with butter or anything else. The prices are fine for the area and what I would expect to pay for BBQ.

Really good food and beer. Atmosphere was great for a Loyola basketball pre-game. Felt terrible for the waitress though...somehow only one person working tables on a the day of a Friday night game? Get that fixed and it bumps up to 4.5 or 5 stars.

Loved the cornbread, burnt ends, mac and cheese, and fried pickles! Came here with a large group and the service was diligent and fairly quick. Definitely could've been worse with a group of 30 people but the staff did an amazing job getting everyone their meals.

Found out about the speakeasy through my nail tech. Found the Instagram, which stated that you'll have to "find the red light in the alleyway". The light was not on last Friday when I went with a few friends. We eventually found the door and knocked for about five minutes. On Instagram, they said the speakeasy required a password. The password was not available and the staff member was not aware of any password. Super weird. I called prior to going to ask if food was allowed in the speakeasy. Spoke to Shane, who said yes. Got to the speakeasy and they said food was not permitted in the speakeasy. Had to eat in the restaurant and the burgers were burnt and very dry. Finally got into the speakeasy. Drinks were terrible. The bar is supposed to close at 2am. They called "last call" at 11:30... Overall, not a good experience.

Had a horrible takeout experience this past weekend. The bartender handed me my order (which had no receipt or name attached to the bag). I checked and the order was wrong. He went in back and proceeded to tell me it would be another 15 minutes. When I rightfully asked why I had received a text saying my order was ready, he told me he didn't "need my attitude" and then proceeded to rattle off excuse after excuse. Five minutes later, I was then told they had to cancel my order because they were out. I spoke with a manager who eventually admitted they had given my food to someone else. So in the time I was there, two orders went to the wrong people. And the manager tried to claim it really wasn't their fault. I calmly explained how was 100% their fault. And they lied to me about canceling my order. I had to get on chat with GrubHub to actually secure a refund. After sharing my story on social media, several friends recalled their own horror stories. Something really fishy is going on at this place.

I'll start with the good. won't take long. the hush puppies were good as were the Corona's. That was it. For my main meal I ordered the 1/2 pound of brisket. It tasted like it was frozen and microwaved. It was dry, tough and tasteless. We also ordered the fish and chips special. I too was tasteless. we told the waitress that the food was horrible, did nothing but walk aw and sit down. She should have gone straight to the manager and told him. Never happened. I should also add that we were the only table taken and one person at the bar so it wasn't like they were slammed. To add insult to injury, it cost almost $90 with tip that I shouldn't have given but she was new. I'd never step foot in this place again. don't let the pictures on their website fool you. the food looks nothing like the pictures.

Asked for a plain ice tea with lemon, and what was delivered had some kind of sparkle to it, and it was really dark and I sent it back. The waiter came back said he tried it, and he defended the fact that it was plain iced tea. I don't know what it was, but it was not good. I had the crab and shrimp burrito-strange concept but didn't really work. There was a hard fried egg inside the burrito which I don't really understand. I'm no prude, but the music that was playing Had the F word and the N-word in the middle of a Saturday they might be more careful with their selection in case of families. So disappointed I really wanted this place to succeed. I think they need to go back to the drawing board with some of their menu items. Maybe I will try the pulled pork someday but I'm a little bit scared right now lol.

I'll go with 3 stars since 2.5 isn't an option. Overall would say ok. Growing up in the south I have a higher standards for bbq and sides. The meats we had (pulled pork, hot link and fried ribs) were pretty good. However, the collard greens were the worst I've ever had in my life. I've had canned greens that were better. Taste like they were just boiled in water. No salt, no seasoning like pork or anything. Also the collards had so many tough veins they were hard to damn taste. Threw most of them away. Bland at best. Mac and cheese was also bad. Salt would have helped. Kraft boxed Mac n cheese has more flavor. Cole slaw was average but warm. Hush puppies were really nice. Texas toast was not good. I got the end piece and it was extremely greasy. The did not send the corn bread as ordered so can't say anything on that. Meh.

Cool neighborhood bar! We came for 5$ Margs and 2$ Tacos on Tuesday. Tacos were delicious and so were drinks. Will definitely visit again!

Don't plan on any events here!! Pre-purchased brunch tickets for 12 people. Showed up and the restaurant wasn't even open and no signs on the door. No notification about it being postponed to a week later at ALL. Couldn't find any other brunch reservations around for last minute on a Sunday. Absolutely ridiculous!

Ambience was cool but too much was going in the wrong direction. Very below average meal, that was too expensive and served half cold. The bartender was rude after I asked for a lemon wedge, being very dramatic about the request. Just not worth your time or money.

Great food. Pulled pork excellent. Good IPA. Loved the ambiance and the service. Near Loyola campus. Good hangout for the students

Good but not great. Service was a little slow but very friendly. The food did come out hot and fresh. We tried the hush puppies and catfish bites, both were very good. The pulled pork sandwich was dry but the flavor of the coleslaw, pickles and bbq sauce made up for it. The fire bird sandwich was delicious. Casual atmosphere good for a date night or dinner with friends. We'll definitely go back.

Food- the smoked chicken had good smoked flavor, yet was served barely warm. Fries were on soggier side. Coleslaw was excellent. I went Sunday night. When I arrived there were only 3 other parties. I was there for over 90 minutes as service was slow at best and no one realized my order needed to be taken for 20+minutes! Waiter knew nothing about available beer and I could find no list of offerings. So the waiter suggested I just have water. Missed opportunity. And kind of dumb response, right? I want to like this place but I'm not the least bit impressed. Have a hard time seeing how they can handle a full restaurant. I'll give them 1 more chance and maybe miraculously service will improve dramatically.

The food is decent, but they need to change their packaging for takeout and delivery; the Styrofoam turns anything fried into a soggy mess. We will try them again but we'll actually go to the resturant.

Not impressed. We tried a number of items on the menu. Started with the bang bang. Shrimp, the shrimp were so small and the number of them so little, definitely not worth the price Pulled Pork sliders were good. But the barbecue sauce you would want to put on was ice cold. They don't have enough wait staff, I asked for a soft drink and it took forever. Not worth $100 we spent.
