"Though its taproom is the newest addition to Somerville, the people behind this brewery have been in the craft beer industry for a long time as contract brewers, who make beer or alcoholic beverages for other brands. The location is a bit tucked away behind a chocolate factory, but the space is open and airy, making it great for a group of friends and some board games. Their German-style pilsner is light, crispy, and adeptly hopped, and you can't go wrong with any Belgian blondes like the Fuzzy Logic. You can also get top-notch birria tacos and nachos from Taqueria El Barrio, which has taken up residence in the brewery. " - valerie li stack

"Cambridge-based brewery Portico Brewing Company is planning to establish its own brewery and taproom in Boynton Yards, Somerville. The company has been contract-brewing since 2012 and is now seeking crowdfunding to raise funds for this new space. The Boynton Yards location will serve as a research and development space while continuing its contract brewing with Ipswich Ale Brewery." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

I liked it! Not a beer person, but the strawberry rhubarb vodka seltzer was amazing. Was there for a party and the Mexican food was flavorful and I'd recommend it. Torts and grilled chicken, roasted vegetables with tortillas.

I've been a big fan of Portico since they opened their brewery/tasting room! I'm a regular there on Fridays after a long week of work. Shout outs in particular to their Scotch Ale which is incredible when they brew it, and their Dayglow hard seltzer which features rotating/experimental flavors. The Chroma amber ale is my favorite that they regularly can for purchase. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming, too. I'm really rooting for these guys to succeed.

Had a great few hours here on a beautiful day with the open air/bay doors open. Tried a bunch of beers and they were all good. Fuzzy Logic Belgian Ale was my fave… Also tried some food items and was excited to see Pickles as a stand alone menu item 😂🤣. Wings and garlic knots were excellent as well. Great relaxed environment with friendly and helpful staff… will definitely be making this a regular spot.

Overall a solid space that still feels like it’s finding its legs. Ambience: There’s a nice outdoor seating area and the interior gets a lot of light, which is nice. There was a live band that was unfortunately too loud for the relatively small space. (Many people were having to yell their orders to the bartenders.) We ended up eating outside so we could hear one another. The ceiling was also dripping water from the humidity which was a little unpleasant. Beer: Selection and quality was fine. I prefer fruity beers and there weren’t any choices for that. My partner got the stout which he said was average for a stout. Food: We ordered the garlic knots, an arugula salad, and pulled chicken sandwich. Everything tasted good (special shout-out to the sandwich!) and the portions were much larger than I anticipated. Service: Everyone was very nice and food was ready surprisingly quickly! The experience wasn’t a slam dunk, especially with local competition, but I wouldn’t rule it out. It’s great to have another local brewery option. I’d return in a few months to see how it evolves.

I visited Portico for the first time on a Friday night with my wife. They have a really great space and it seems like an enjoyable place to hang out for a while, but the area is in a more hidden and tucked away part of Somerville. They are located in the first level of a larger new building in that neighborhood, so it's brand new and is super nice. I had a flight which included - Fuzzy Logic (Belgian Ale), New Doors (New England IPA), Greenwash (New England IPA), and Chroma (Amber Ale). I personally like beers on the lighter and fruitier side, rather than a heavy and bitter type of beer. The Fuzzy Logic was excellent - it may have been one of the best Belgian Ales that I've had. I really likes New Doors too because it was a lighter and sweeter IPA, Bur Greenwash was a bit too heavy/bitter for my liking but it wasn't bad I still drank it. Chroma was certainly quite bitter and was not meant for me.

Don’t be fooled by the new modern exterior! This place has soul & pride. Sit at the bar and indulge in the baskets of therapeutic legos. Alex (one of the owners) was tending & we felt like we were old friends quick. Highly recommend ❤️

Yelp
This brewery seems to be semi new. The space is huge and very clean. They have like bowls of legos that you can build with at the bar. Staff is friendly. They have bar seats, long tables with chairs and sitting area with couches i believe and more tables. They also have a great outdoor space where you could play cornhole or just enjoy your food and drinks. Highly recommend checking it out. Though it is kind of hidden but once you see it you cant miss it.

Yelp
We came for the opening party on April 15th! It was a fun time and there were tons of people. We were able to get a table and hang out for a few hours. The staff were super friendly and definitely a little overwhelmed. Cute place & loved the fuzzy logic (pretty sure that was what we were drinking). There was a kink in the tap line for the Belgian beer we were drinking which caused a delay in orders for a bit. Overall, it was a great party and we will definitely be back. We didn't have food but there was pizza and wings available.

Yelp
This place is a great addition to the neighborhood and the beers are excellent. Everyone's real friendly and it's a great space and looking forward to making this a regular stop.

Yelp
Came here on an early Saturday evening to meet up with a few friends. The brewery is part of a new development in Somerville. They have a large outdoor patio area in front facing the street but the actual entrance is around the corner. The inside was very clean and modern looking. It was busy but not too crowded and we were able to grab a table outside after a few minutes. We all got a beer flight. Everyone's favorite was their Belgian ale, Fuzzy Logic, which unfortunately was not available at the time for to go. All the beers were good and ordering food online on their website was very easy. The food was alright. The square slice of pizza was really a big hunk of bread. A fun spot to hang out with friends and have some beer.

Yelp
Met a friend here for a Friday early evening drink before dinner, and had a great experience. The bartender was incredibly nice, the space is enormous and the ambience was nice. I tried both the 'Fuzzy Logic' and the 'Luzzy Fogic' which were tasty and well balanced. I ended up getting dinner at Pomodoro inside, and tried a slice of the traditional pizza and a half chicken salad sandwich, which both were really solid. Fantastic outdoor space to boot.
