Portillo's Addison

This location is one of the best locations to get Chicago Style Food. The customer service was good. I ordered the Chicago Style Hotdog and chocolate cake. The dog was made fresh, hot, and delicious. The chocolate cake was divine and melted in my mouth. I recommend this location. You have to eat here.

Well I was bowled over! The Italian beef was positively scrumptious. The fries were hot and perfect and the cheese sauce was perfect. I was excited to eat this meal. I also ate the half hotdog my grandson couldn't finish and it too was delicious. I LOVED IT

The food was delicious. The place was very dirty, the tables especially. We asked to please clean our table and they said they would but they never did. I ended up cleaning our tables. No one wants to eat at a dirty table they should make sure their keeping up with the cleaning.

All employees here are great. But special credit goes to Matt who was working outside taking orders in uncomfortable heat but manages to still be kind. Outstanding attitude and a great example of what service used to be.

Portillo's hardly if ever disappoints. Food is legendary. Italian beef sandwich is a known quality. This one was not packed and we did not have to wait in line. Chees fries and onion rings ideally complement the beef sandwich. Overall great experience.

Nobody eat at this nasty place. Serving old re-heated food. Called and talked to someone and as usually nothing was done about it. Next time hire someone who doesn’t check a box and hire most qualified.

I love that vegan options were available! Delicious!

I’ve been going to Portillo’s since I was a kid and visit both the Addison and Villa Park locations several times a month. Unfortunately, the Addison location has gone downhill lately. The woman at the counter has been very crabby the past few visits—rude and short with customers. On my most recent visit, the ketchup dispensers weren’t even filled. I pushed down and it squirted all over my shirt. I told the staff, and they could clearly see it—but no one offered a napkin, tissue, or even said sorry. Then my order came out wrong. I ordered a large Italian beef and sausage combo with cheese, sweet peppers on top, and hot peppers on the side. Instead, I got it in a plastic bowl with no bread, no cheese, and all the peppers thrown in. When I asked for it to be fixed, they just dumped the bowl onto bread, still wrong, and acted annoyed. No dipping, no care. When I asked again, the cashier said, “What do you want me to do? This is the second time you’re complaining.” No manager on duty either. Very disappointing experience. I’ve always loved Portillo’s, but this location really needs better service and attention to detail. When I went to write a new review for Portillo’s Hot Dogs, I noticed I had already left one before. I’m posting that original review again below, along with the photos. Just look at how they responded to my message from before—take a look for yourself.

We can't visit Chicago and not go at least once when in town. Always a combo and hot dog. Nothing like it back in Atlanta. They just opened one in Kennesaw near Atlanta and will be making the trip soon.

I loved Portillos until yesterday. I ordered a double cheeseburger well done and a bottle of water. The burgers were so burnt and black I couldn't believe it. I took a couple of bites and threw it away. It was inedible..The cook needs further lessons. Well done doesn't mean burnt. It was so dry and had no flavor. So disgusting. I will not order from there again. Culvers is the new place where I will be going.

Truly a legend in the hotdog and Italian beef world! An icon in the Chicago area Portillo's is a must go to any time you are in the vicinity on one. I could eat here all day... breakfast lunch and dinner! We need a few of these in Atlanta! Truly I would go there 5 days a week!

Came in for lunch to grab something on the quick. The lady at the register was nice and grabbed my order correctly. Waiting took a very long time. The line outside wasn't even that bad and there was no one else in line inside. Waited about 20/25 minutes for chicken tenders and fries. They tasted fine but didn't like how no was was really paying attention to the orders for dine in or take out. More so for drive through. Man in the photo had a meltdown for waiting for his food too long and asked for a refund. Totally caused chaos in there for no reason

Typical portillos. Solid options and taste. Central location and efficient staff. Limited parking.

Came here after a long day at the warehouse and really enjoyed the food here. I ordered a Chicago dog, cheese fries and a beef sandwich. It's probably on me as I ordered online but I thought the beef sandwich came with toppings but it didn't - to me it was kinda bland as-is and I think the peppers would have helped. The Chicago dog was excellent as were the cheese fries. They had a great saltiness to them and I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area! I ordered and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The service was excellent and the space has a cool old time feel. I will definitely be back when I come back to Chicago!

I've never , ever , written anything about anywhere, but this place has a drive thru wait time of over 10 minutes, 14 to be exact , I get a chili. It takes me 3 minutes to get there , by the time I'm back to work, I have a whopping 7 minutes to eat my Hot az chili. At least it's fresh.

I can't speak for all locations but Addison location is always consistent with good fresh food. Hot dogs,fries, beef are always perfect. Staff is very fast and professional

I've never in my life felt inclined to leave a food review for an establishment until this experience. It was our first time in Chicago and at the recommendation by many we ordered from Portillo's on 9/14/24. Upon receiving our take out order we were shocked and DISGUSTED by the wad of hair on our cheeseburger. Do not recommend and would encourage some managerial intervention for quality control.

Decided to try the Addison location for delivery only to find out it's totally screwed up just like the others. The problem is that Portillo's got too big to give a damn. The Italian sausage was to be dipped and was bone dry. Onion rings ice cold. My salad dressing came with no salad. Same things happened when I was able to drive. Would check our order and pull up to wait to get it fixed while the correct food got cold. Done. Either the staff can't read English, or they are just sloppy and don't quality check anything. Management would rather give refunds than solve the problem.

WTF happened to Portillos? For the second time in a row the onion rings were so burnt they were not edible. The fries were cold and not salted. Got the fish sandwich and they burned the bun, which was also inedible. They made me pull off to the side and then 2 more cars after me. When they finally brought the food (6 minutes) they brought all 3 at the same time so you know it was just sitting there getting cold while they waited on the other two orders. So disappointing!

Portillo's name brand is the ultimate way that attracts people But unfortunately customer service and poor quality control plays a big role with a higher demand of continuity especially when rising prices and poor service comes hand in hand Example: missing items when you pay dearly but as a customer don't get any satisfactory from management on hand

Order is always wrong! Was here three times this week and wrong every time! The manager never knows what to do! I wanted a refund and they said no they would remake the whole order! Second order was wrong as well! Finally after 45 minutes waiting I got a refund but no food! Go somewhere else! If you ask for a fish sandwich and the receipt says fish but you get a hamburger twice something is definitely wrong!

This Portillo's is the worst when you go through the drive-through please check your order they are constantly forgetting things and when you call back after driving 25 minutes away they could care less about it no I'm sorry no we apologize no customer service whatsoever don't go here save yourself frustration and go someplace else.

Service amazing. Unfortunately food has been tasting horribly lately. The last meal i bought everything tasyed like cleaning supplies.

Closed early. Rude staff. I was in line at 10:25 and at the order board by 10:28. The guys in front of me ordered and were waiting. Instead of telling me they were closed, they shut the lights off on the restaurant and I still had to wait for the people in front of me to receive their food before I could escape the drive through. If you're closed, have the courtesy to tell the customer. Obviously they didn't do that because I would have argued with them closing two minutes early. Bad management is the source of bad service.

Portillo's Cozy restaurant, Lovely, fast Service, Lovely food. Lovely desserts. Lovely, friendly staff. Lovely Atmosphere! Clean. I recommend this LOVELY restaurant, Lovely Experience. KISSES Portillo's!

Food quality went down for sure. Don't doubt they bought lower quality meats. The service is horrible taking for ever. Management is horrible. Everything is outdated in there as well

Fantastic! Was in town purchasing a work vehicle and Portillos was recommended by a customer from Chicago. I expected nothing. Not only was the service excellent but the food was so good I planned my meals around this place. I am looking for an excuse to go back and I'm on the West Coast.

Portillo's Addison served me a raw burger. After waiting 20 minutes for my food at the drive thru window. Absolutely disgusting WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN

From out of town and this was one of the places with the line wrapped around the building...at all of the locations. Order the Chili Dog, Onion Ring and a milk shake.

I'm not sure what happened to this Portillos but I moved to Addison around 2 months ago and I when I first moved out here this was a great place to go/order from. But the last 2-3 weeks they've been terrible at best. From constantly forgetting to give me items, not putting bacon on items when extra bacon is ordered. Not giving you your beverage , when asked to park to wait for order. 2 days ago I went through the drive through ordered over $60 worth of food. They asked me to park, I wait an additional 10 minutes, added to the 15 minutes I already waited. Then a young man brings me my food, reads off the receipt and leaves. I'm thinking where's my soda, I thought maybe it was in the bag in a holder. Nope I get home and there was no soda, and forgot to give 2 other items. I had to drive all the way back and get my missing items, Then Today I went and orders a broiled chicken sandwich, and 2 other items. I get home, ready to eat lunch. Chicken is raw in the middle and crunchy of course. Had to throw it away bc I'm not eating my damn time again. So I think I'm done going to this particular Portillo's. And I get food from this location 4-5 times a week. So I'll take my business else where. Sal M

The location is convenient for me but I am almost always missing something from my drive thru order. Today, I ordered a salad, hot dog, and large fries. The fries came half EMPTY! I would (kind of) understand forgetting the fries all together but to only fill it half way and give it to your customer like that? It's embarrassing.

Just horrible service and they don't except cash through the drive thru so made me park and go inside to get food which I was annoyed with already but go in to find out they deleted my order and had to reorder all my stuff again....that was almost 45 mins with waiting in line in drive Thru and then wait in line inside plus my food should of been waiting for me since I ordered it in drive thru but she was like oh I deleted order didn't think he was comin in!!!

Visiting from Dallas and this place was delicious. I have not one complaint. The place was busy so it's obvious that many like it. The hot dog.... great. The Italian beef sandwich... great. The peppers gave it a spicy taste that was perfect. Delicioso!!!! I recommend this place for sure!

Super consistent food. You always know what it's going to taste like. Prices continue to go up though.

Worst experience ever! I ordered hot dog, Italian sandwich, fries & onion ring inside. Waited 20 minutes. When I asked about my order, they said they we're waiting on the onion rings. Then they just put them in the fryer. Got my order 5 minutes later and went to car. Open bag and no hot dog. Back inside, showed ticket and made hot dog right away. Offered piece of cake for my troubles. 30 minutes of my life I will never get back.

Ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. Awesome burger as usual. Very juicy and great flavor. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that they don't melt the cheese or warm the bun. It's cold cheese and cold bun. Still good but it could have been wayyyyyy better. Still it's Portillos and it's an awesome place to go to if you visit Chicago!

Very frustrated... I placed an online order for pick up. When I arrived, there was no one in the drive thru line so I pulled in and asked the girl if I was able to get my order through drive thru. She rudely said no and that I can't pull in where there's a cone. I told her that I didn't see any other entrance to the drive thru (they need to mark the entrance better). I went inside and got my order (took a fry in the car and they were cold, not at all warm). Got back to the office and realized we were missing the salad so I called and asked them to deliver being that it was an office b-day celebration. They said they don't do delivery so one of the girls agreed to go pick it up. I made it very clear on the phone that I wanted to order to be ready (salad and onion rings) when she arrived so that she wasn't sitting and waiting. Not only was it not even started, but they said the oil was heating up so the onion rings would be about 10 min. Such bad service!!!

Great place for a quick late night nite for the family. I will say triple check your bag before you drive away. Down to opening the containers and checking for the ketchup and mustard. They are terrible for this! And make sure they give you the cheese with the cheese fries! Nothing like getting home to find no cheese !!! Kids are all crying , I'm screaming and dads running back before they close in 15 minutes! Always makes for good times! Happy family dinners! Always dad's fault!

Usually have nothing but positive reviews for all the Portillos i go to. At this location, i Ordered a BREADED CHICKEN CROISSANT. It was completely burnt. Disappointed.

Terrible service. Nobody in the restaurant and we still waited 20 mins for our food. Bathroom was dirty and staff did not seem to care about the restaurant or the customers.

2nd time going thru the drive thru and the attendant tried to short change me... order was 11.55 gave a $20 and gave me back 7.00...??? I don't get it!! are they deliberately try to rip people off??? or multiple employees at the drive thru don't know how to give change???? The quality off the food has also gone down! won't be going back here!

I'm a HUGE Portillo's fan but have to judge each location on its own merits, esp since they are now so pervasive. Everything and I mean everything, from the moment I stepped in, to the moment I ordered, to the moment I sat down, and to the moment I took my first bite, is a 5 star Portillos moment here. But I gotta say, when I bit into my Grilled Yellowfin Tuna - I know, you don't think of that at a Portillo's but is usually awesome....usually. Not this time. Not terrible but will most likely give it a pass next go around and just do the standard Beef/Dog/Burger/Chopped. Oh, and the fries w side of cheese sauce. Predictably consistent and delightful.

I have to say I love Portillo's Hot Dogs restaurants. Yes it's a chain restaurant but it is a good chain restaurant. We stopped in for a quick bite before heading to bowl with the guys. This establishment is one of the older ones. It has the retro sitting area as well as the jukebox. Which it gives it the nice touch. The parking lot was quite full, there was a concert nearby so we thought the restaurant wouldn't be so busy. We were wrong it was jammed packed with older folks. It's always good to see older folks in a restaurant because it gives you the sense that this location has been doing things right. As soon as we walked in there's an older man greeting people and directing towards the front of the counter where we would order. Even with the huge signs that say "order here" and "pick up here". The man still stands there making sure to greet you with a big smile. It's nice to feel welcomed in that way. We made our way to the counter. We both ordered a big beef. I had mine with spicy giardenera and my roommate ordered his with sweet peppers. Both order a side of fries and a cup of water. The taste was on point. It was juicy and delicious. The fries were hot and crispy. Very good food from here we must say. I only gave it a four star because of the guy at the counter. He didn't seemed to happy calling out orders. If I didn't ask for my order I think it would've sat on the counter for long period of time. It looked like he was having a bad day. I get it with it being a busy day but still it shouldn't be that way. Other than that it was a great visit. So if you're in the area for some good tasty food be sure to stop by and say hi to the older man at the door. It'll make your day even better.

I ordered $31.28 worth of food today at portillos 2 Orders of large cheese fries , 1 bacon cheese burger , and 4 piece chicken tenders , and a cake shake, went home and saw only the burger and 1 order of cheese fries. Missing chicken tenders and 1 order of cheese fries , come on.

What happened?? A surprise gift of Portillo's Italian beef was ruined by your delivery system. I ordered for delivery on Friday, and Friday evening I received a message it would not be delivered until Monday! So much for planning ahead. I think it is arrogant of Portillo's to think my gift does not matter. I loved Portillo's , but now I do not. If you're reading this, I want to know what happened.

It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming. Amazing food and fast service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.

My fiancé is from Chicago... We live in Hawaii so every birthday I have the Best Portillo's Italian Beef Sandwiches shipped to us... It is 8 sandwiches and well worth the cost and shipping!!! Always arrives on time and I love to see the Smile on my Loves face!!! If there was a Portillo's in Kapolei, Hawaii it would bring a whole new craving to our islands!!! Went in drive thru, wasn't that busy cashier asked me if I wanted the coin back in my change? YES I want my full change back for my order! If you want to round it off do it in customer favor. Food wasn't as good as it used to be.

i have to say i generally let things fly,, however this visit today tuesday, i'm patient as heck but 10 minutes for a hotdog ,frie and a supposed mint shake.. 3rd and final visit in last yr, simple order , mustard ,onion on dog,what they put relish and peppers, fries must have been out 20 min b4 i got them, i open the top of shake plain vanilla ,no mint ,my god i'm not going back ,lousy experience at best... Portillo's has really gone down hill since the Hedge fund took over. Dick would be pissed . i'm done. i dislike leaving reviews like this..

Ever since the sale of Portillo's the food and service is terrible. They have incompetent people taking orders and when you do not receive your order correctly and go to manager... they state you didn't pay for it and chose to reprimand their employee instead of solving my situation. I would have paid for it but did not want to stand in the long line again.. they could have offered the chicken breast that they did not add to my order. This is not the first time my Portillo's order was incorrect... but it will be MY LAST time... I will no longer support Portillo's i would really rather starve.

Don't not cater from this place, a simple garden salad was not ready at 3:45 when the pick up was suppose to be at 3

What has happened to Portillo's it just is not that good anymore and they don't reflect the quality in the price it is still super expensive for fast food there is still always a massive line around the building for the drive-through, The hamburgers do not taste as fresh as they used to same with their hotdogs, ever since they were bought out by another buyer from Dick Portillo quality has literally gone downhill. One item is still good thank God which is the cheese fries deafly go and try those whenever you have the chance to go to Portillo's, there are hundreds of better places for Italian beef's, and their hotdogs are just OK.. One of their great promotions they do in the summer time is the Rib deal ...you can get a full slab of ribs with a baked potato and coleslaw for a really reasonable price. But that's just my opinion go check it out for yourself

Either their very understaffed or need new management. Waited in line for 45 minutes. When I finally brought the food back to my office. They forgot my burger and didn't get some of sides correct. If your going to charge what you do for a meal then make sure you have someone checking the receipt before the order is handed over to the customer. After discovering this, it was already 1:30 and I had to get back to my workload. No, I don't want your "free meal on us" card. Get it together.

First time coming here on my way to St. Charles. I'm surprised some of these retro Portillo's establishments are still around. Place is beautiful. Surprised this place wasn't packed, drive thru too. Service was quick and swift. We dealt with absolutely no lines. Food as phenomenal as always. There's tons of parking as well which is great. Definitely would come back here.

If you want to waste half of your day and all your gas come through the drive thru..leave with cold food

It took nearly a half an hour to get a double cheeseburger??? The guy at the window told me they're understaffed. Not my problem. Fix it......
