Popular Chicago Chain Portillo’s Sets Its Sights on Vegas | Eater Vegas

"I learned that the massively popular Chicago-based restaurant Portillo’s is planning to expand to Las Vegas as part of a nationwide push to add more than 900 new restaurants; in a call with investors, president and CEO Michael Osanloo announced the growth while the chain currently operates 70 restaurants. The Midwest institution is famous for its Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, burgers, salads, and chocolate shakes that have a whole slice of decadent chocolate cake mixed in, though company representatives have not yet revealed whether the Vegas location(s) will be full-scale restaurants with dining areas or operate only as drive-thrus and pick-up locations." - Janna Karel
