"The pride and joy of not just Burbank, but the entire Valley, Porto’s Bakery is a straight-up classic. The family-run Cuban bakery has been serving guava pastries, potato balls, and everything else under the Valley sun for decades, and built a rabid following in the process. Come here at noon on a Tuesday and be greeted by 100 other people who had the same idea as you. But not to worry, Porto’s is a well-oiled machine and will have you in, out, and eating strudel for lunch in no time." - brant cox, sylvio martins

"For anyone who’s ever stepped foot in Southern California, Porto’s should need no introduction. But just in case you need a quick refresher, the family-run Cuban bakery has been serving guava pastries, potato balls, and every other baked treat under the Valley sun for the last 55 years. They’re the pride and joy of Burbank, and you should go here (or to any of their other locations) to join the lines of people waiting to stock up on their trademarked papa rellenas, which are deep-fried and filled with more meat than an Arby’s tagline. And since Porto’s is a streamlined operation, they’ll have you in, out, and eating pastries for lunch alone in your car in 10-15 minutes. " - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore

"Cuban bakery Porto’s, which has locations in Glendale, Burbank, Buena Park, and Downey, will now ship some of their pastries around the country, reports CBS LA. Right now, they’ll only ship meat pies, guava and cheese, cheese rolls, and guava studels in boxes of 12, plus dulce de leche besitos in boxes of 15, shipped frozen in dry ice. Customers can then bake the pastries fresh in their own home. It’s a good chance for any Porto’s fans to get their most popular pastries anywhere in the country. Boxes cost $16.99 and come with a minimum two box order, plus a nearly $25 shipping charge." - Matthew Kang

Oh what an experience! I wish they had more of these types of eateries everywhere! Beware, you will love it but it will be busy! There's plenty of dining area, just order and sit and enjoy. No reservations, just be prepared to stand in line for a bit, order a fancy coffee drink, some food, and then just wait for your food and sit with some friends and enjoy the ambience. My sister got a free fruit tart because we all met there for her graduation lunch. I recommend you try everything there, there's something for everyone. I've tried the ropa vieja sandwich (eat it right away bec the bread will be soggy, it's so tender and great!) The chicken milanesa is such a delicious and healthier alternative (love the plate lunch) For my vegetarians, try the soups and the feta sandwich Pastries: please try the famous cream cheese danishes, they are simply the best The besitos are little cookies with caramel filling (I feel like they can be shared bec they are super rich) The chocolate danish pastries are great for my chocoholics looking for something light. The Churro croissant was so good that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it. We've ordered their milk and berries cake (tres leches) and it's not too heavy on the leches, very spongy, very good! I ordered their cheesecake with fresh strawberries which was ok, nothing to write home about Their mango mousse cake was a hit for my mango lovers And if you want to make an impression for the next party, bring a box of their meat pie empanadas and a box of their cheese rolls (cream cheese pastries) I try to go every time I'm in the area! Chefs kiss all the way!

Okay, so if you're a tourist like me and near Buena Park, you absolutely have to stop at Porto's Cafe – seriously, it's incredible! The pastries are out of this world, super fresh and so many to choose from, plus the Cuban sandwiches are just as amazing. It gets busy, but the line moves fast and it's totally worth it for a delicious, authentic taste of something special.

Porto's is one of those rare places where the hype is actually justified. Their Berries and Cream and Parisian Chocolate Cake are absolutely divine — rich, balanced, and worthy of every single calorie. Easily a 5-star experience on the dessert front! Lunch is no slouch either — the sandwiches are fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The Chicken Cilantro plate was a pleasant surprise — light, tasty, and comforting. Yes, the lines are long, but they move surprisingly fast thanks to a well-oiled system. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle, but with a little patience (and maybe a couple laps around the parking area), you’ll find a spot. It’s a bustling, vibrant place perfect for a snack, a quick lunch, or picking up an epic cake for any celebration.

Well known establishment, plenty of seating, cuban music lightly playing in the background. As usual, place is packed, but not without reason, this place offers highend baked goods. I ordered the Torrejas French Toast which was sweet, with guava syrup and fruits to balance it out. Loved the combined flavors. And I orderd the Nutella Leche Latte, which felt like it was straight from Starbucks. I ordered my food for dine in and it was different to have a fancy looking interior/exterior cafe, but then have a paper plate, with plastic utensils. Also, my drink was in a to go paper cup. Not that this is a big deal, but the restaurant is designed (the look and feel) in a way that the plates and utensils should match (high end cafe), meaning I expected to have real plates, utensils, and cups. Because I did not have it, the experience was off. Even if I had Denny’s quality plates and utensils, the experience would’ve been better. But since I got paper plates and plastic utensils, I felt like I was at McDonalds. I feel that this establisment could spend a little extra on those improvements and add a dishwasher. All that to say, the food was good, and the baked goods are still premium.

Compared to Hawaii, the prices here felt downright lovely! Super fresh salad greens, clam chowder overflowing with clams, and everything tasted amazing. The only catch? It’s always busy—expect a 20–30 minute wait and a packed parking lot. And with so many delicious bakeries, choosing is the hardest part! I went three times in three days and was happy every time. You’ll need at least ten visits to try everything!

We had such a wonderful experience at Porto’s Bakery and Cafe! 🌟 The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was fast and friendly, even with the long lines, and the staff were super helpful with recommendations. The atmosphere is lively, family-friendly, and very welcoming. 🥐🍰 It’s definitely worth the hype — we spent about $50–$100 per person because we tried a variety of items to share. Highly recommend the cheese rolls, potato balls, and their iced coffees! Can’t wait to come back again.

It was quite a while I wanted to try the Porto’s pastries for a while and today was the first time. We went to the Buena Park location it was around 9amish and parking lot was crowded. You need to review the online so you can get an idea of what you would like to order. Counter peeps are super friendly and have good recommendations kinda a “secret menu” We ordered some breakfast sandwiches and a wrap to eat before we hit the road and everything was delicious! Of course we brought some goodies to try them at home and share them with our Family.

OMG where do I begin? It was my first time trying this bakery but always heard amazing things about it. I was not disappointed when I ordered. The chocolate croissants were huge and delicious. Everything was scrumptious. I wish there were more of these bakeries around. Can't wait to try rest of the pastries from the here! Definitely give it a try. You will be addicted!

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Porto's recently, thanks to one of their workers who went above and beyond to help me out. I had a small issue with my order, and Cristopher was incredibly professional and attentive in handling the situation. It's clear they take pride in their work and care about their customers' experience. The food at Porto's, of course, was fantastic as always, but it's this kind of service that truly makes me a loyal customer.

Andres M.

Yelp
Food was amazing, don't get me wrong. It tasted amazing and wasn't salty or bland. Only issues I have with the place is how you cannot modify an order. I asked for Cuban bread with my sandwich, guy at the front said they can change it and I just got lied too. I got a croissant instead of Cuban bread. Which is ridiculous. For a Cuban restaurant, you'd think they would be happy to do it. Had an issue trying to even modify my order before the guy at the front said he can do it too. Then I go into the restroom and it is the most disgusting place possible. The smell was horrific and the bathroom was dirtier than a park bathroom. I will never come here again.

Yelp
If there's something I have learned is my under-desiring love for Porto's. Seriously, I'll join a "I love Porto's" fan club if there's one out there. Compared to my last visit at Burbank, I didn't grab any big items since I was going to do some rides at Knots Berry Farm (Right down the street). I grabbed the famous potato ball, a guava and cheese pastry, and an oatmeal cookie. There was another cream cheese pastry in the box but I didn't eat that one. I wished though. All were delicious. I also ordered an horchata cold brew. This location does make it overly sweet and a little heavy on the ice so next time, I'll do a hot latte or something. Service was quick. I sat outside and the server was able to easily find me in the crowd. But yeah... at this point if you haven't had Porto's, you ain't living.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
The store has a parking lot in the back. It didn't look very small but the line getting into the parking lot is a bit horrendous. Oddly once you park there isn't really a long line of people inside and the lines move so quickly. So if you can find parking rest is a breeze. Tried the pork tamale, churro croissant, hazelnut besito cookie, spinach feta empanada. The pork tamale came out piping hot and so fresh. Wish it didn't have corn inside but nevertheless surprisingly tasty. The churro croissant however was a bit disappointing....not sure why the cinnamon sugar made the croissant less flaky. I usually Looove their regular croissant. Spinach empanada was very good and flaky. The walnut raisin batard also very good. Soft inside. Staff was very nice.

Yelp
First off this Porto's is huge compared to the other ones I've been too and I came here to do a pickup order for a wedding I was headed too. But I had to stop at the coffee bar real quick to grab myself a strawberry matcha and I grabbed my dad a bakery item in that line as well. It didn't take long before my drink was ready. Once there I had to ask where pickup orders were at, it's right where it says CAKES next to the bakery line. I walked over and got my order brought out right away, except I needed some assistance cause my niece over bought (4 cheesecakes and 9 dozen cheese puffs) 2 bags and 4 boxes I'm glad I got helped out to the car. Service was great, quick and easy but I will say to avoid coming here at 1030am on a Friday, the parking lot was packed! And I mean I had to circle it a few times till I found a spot and these spots are tiny and people can't seem to park between the lines here. This is their own private parking lot as well. Handicap is in the front and on the side if needed.

Yelp
I have always been a fan of Porto's. I am still a fan despite the negative changes over the years . Some of the negatives changes were the removal of many dessert and other items that they used to have. Another negative change, but I can't blame them on this one is the price increase. Porto's has been trying to keep it fresh and fun by adding new or seasonal items here and there. They make everything so well. I love the taste of their food and drinks. I have noticed since the beginning of 2024 that their pastries such as the guava strudel and cheese rolls have decreased in size. There were a handful of times where the size was what it used to be, but for the most part, they are much smaller compared to the past. Now, I don't visit super often, so it could just be the times I've gone and was dealt smaller pieces... but this last time when I went on 1/8/2025, they were smaller. Other than the smaller sizes of the pastries, everything is still good. I like their new Breakfast Empanada. The new Honey Vanilla Latte is a bit too sweet for my liking. The parking here is such a pain. There is just not enough parking spaces when it gets busy here.

Divine G.

Yelp
Talk about bread! They have too many options of breads that you can think off! They got cakes, cold drinks and hot drinks too! As we go along the long line, you are being accommodate by one server which is cool! What i like about this place, they try to limit the people going inside the bakery/restaurant. Which is good!

Tina L.

Yelp
I love their pastries and bread. Parking is a bit difficult on busy weekends but still manageable. Note their hot entrees aren't available unless you order in line. TIP skip the line by ordering online for pickup. Great sit down place though because they have plenty of seating. Almond croissant this time around wasn't as crispy as expected but decent sweet usual filling. Strawberry matcha latte with oat milk is great for those who have a sweet tooth and enjoy strawberry ice cream but the matcha flavor is not really there.

Gabriela B.

Yelp
This is a little late but if you have not ordered their bake at home products run don't walk to get order in online. Products arrive in a styrofoam ice chest. All items have parchment paper along with baking instructions. All boxes have QR codes in case you lose the instructions. The star of the show are the seasonal cookie kits. For Halloween they had cute sugar cookies they were sold out when we attempted to order and the holidays they had gingerbread men. Kit included icing, sprinkles and of course cookies. These were the best gingerbread cookies I ever tasted. I don't buy the store kits because I think they taste gross and will get thrown out. My daughter had a great time decorating and eating the cookies. Don't sleep on this seasonal treat! Pro tip: if you sign up they send you a $10 off purchase. Every so often they more products. We recently ordered the besito cookies dulce de leche flavor.

Sarah C.

Yelp
5/5 because pricing, taste, ambiance and service were all spectacular. We had an assortment of the savory and sweet pastries but some that were noteworthy - Cuban sandwich - noticed that the usual garlic sauce didn't come with it but when I bit into it, I understood why. The flavor was all there and additional sauces were not needed. Ever meat slice was juicy and the cheese, pickle and mustard in the sandwich was 10/10. The bread, despite eating it hours later, was not soggy and tasted as if I just picked it up Dulce de leche cookies - the usual and chocolate one. Ask them to warm it up. Don't question it and just get it Chicken potato ball - the inside had a bechamel sauce that made it unique. Don't question and just get it Chicken empanada - pastry was a different consistency. Cross section between cakey/flakey? Meat pie - a bit bland compared to other other pastries so start by eating this then go to the others Gauva and cheese strudel - perfection Potato croquette - because everything else was especially delicious, didn't stand out to me. This stood at the same level as the meat pie for me I can go on and on.. as a new yorker living in queens, I was blown away. The price points were also impressive. 2 boxes of an assortment of pastries plus a full sandwich for $50-60? YES PLZ Went to Laguna beach with the pastries to watch the sunset. It was amazing...!

Yelp
Always love stopping by Porto's! I ordered quite a bit to share with folks. My receipt said Janell (but not sure if this was the cashier)...but shoutout to the person who boxed my specific order with boxing requests!! I was a bit annoying, requesting 6 separate boxes so I could drop off easier to folks, but staff was very friendly and didn't mind: -guava cheese $1.35/ea -besito deulce deleche $0.90/ea -guava strudel $1.25/ea -croissant almond $2.65 -cheese roll $1.19 -blueberry muffin $2.65 -potato ball $1.45 -ham croquette $1.45 -chicken croquette $1.45 -cheese peppers $1.65 My personal favorite are the guava strudel and potato ball! Almond croissant was average to me. Parking lot in the back. Lots of seating inside. Staff is efficient and churns through lines quickly.

Michelle N.

Yelp
A rep brought Porto's to my work and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. The drive always made me second guess it, but a potluck gave me an excuse to make that drive LOL I got 3 Dozen Cheese Rolls and they were more than enough! My boyfriend and I ended up taking a box home each and now we have enough for a whole week with our family. I love how airfrying it doesn't change how it tastes. The sweet, slight saltiness to the cheesy cream center paired with the crispiness of the crust is addicting! Order online and avoid possible lines. Picking up was super easy and on time!

Lynette H.

Yelp
This location is HUGE!! I like that there's a separate coffee bar, if you only want a drink. And a cake pick up area. There's lots of parking but I can imagine on weekends and holidays their parking lot can fill up. I, of course, love their cheese rolls and croquettes. I want to try their Cuban sandwich next time.

Jessica G.

Yelp
If you're not stopping by Porto's on your road trip from LA to the Bay, what are you even doing?! ...is what my family would say if I came home without those signature yellow boxes. Now, Porto's is Porto's and if you haven't tried their pastries, they're pretty good (take it from the folks who are waiting in lines that wrap around outside). If you need a place to start, my faves are their cheese rolls and dulce de leche kisses. This location of Porto's is impressive. First, it's pretty big. The bright building has huge windows and 4 (maybe more?) stations for you to enjoy different offerings. They've got a station just for drinks. One (maybe two?) for pastries. Another for cafe orders. And one for online orders. On weekdays, this place is packed. On weekends, this place is PACKED. The protip is to order online for pick up. Then you can skip the long lines of people waiting to order, and fast pass it to the barely-there online pick up line. Worth the no-wait. Parking here can be tight. They do have a decent sized parking lot, but like I said, the place gets packed and so does the parking lot. But people are always leaving so if you circle around a bit, you'll prob catch someone as they're on their way out. Overall, prob my fave Porto's location. Pastries are delicious. Coffee is okay (but maybe I just haven't found a drink to love). Either way, this non-local will always be a (kinda) regular.

Ron P.

Yelp
Alazing building, amazing service, amazing price, amazing pastries what more can you ask for!! I came around 7pm on a Sunday night and there was close to no line. Love it!

Brianna L.

Yelp
porto's is always such a treat. love that it's so affordable while also being very delicious. some of our favorites are the guava strudel and the cheese rolls but honestly all of them are so good. this porto's has 2 places to order from and a separate drink counter. though the line might be long they are super efficient so the line moves pretty fast. before you have your order all decided you're at the front of the line. there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your treats.

Dana A.

Yelp
All day, every day!!!! This is the spot, we enjoyed the Cuban French toast, breakfast croissants, cafe con leche, dulche de leche latte, and then bags of guava pastalitos, meat pies and dulche de leche cookies. We could eat breakfast, Lunch, and dinner here every day and be happy as clams!!!! Gracias

Eric K.

Yelp
The largest and most delicious bakery in the western United States. No matter which bread or cake you eat, you will be 100% satisfied. It's always very clean and tidy, and thanks to the bright smiles of all the employees who greet customers, I always feel good when I buy and eat there. There are big and small bakeries around here, but they are ridiculously expensive and cannot compare to this place in any way. If I go to buy a loaf of bread and come back feeling happy and satisfied, I will always be willing to return to this place as long as my wallet is not empty.

Cecille C.

Yelp
Love this Porto's location! It's like the Disneyland of Porto's! Probably the best location. It is grand, but still expect long lines. But as always they have 2 separate lines and will go rather fast. I am a fan of the grilled chicken sandwich and also the Caesar Cilantro salad with grilled chicken! So delicious and tasty! I would like to thank the Porto's family for doing something special for Veterans and gifting a small pastry box filled with a variety of goodies! This is something special and thoughtful that not many places provide. Peep the red, white, and blue sugar cookie! There is plenty of seating inside and outside and a great place to stop by for lunch! :))

Anna C.

Yelp
This was my first time at Porto's and I was so surprised at how big the store was. There were four separate areas for each category: cake, pastries, lunch food and drinks. The first thing we got were pastries. The line looks long but moves fast. MAKE SURE TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT to order as there's multiple people ordering at the same time and the desserts are not written on a board, you instead just have to look at the options through their display. It was a bit overwhelming at first. We ended up getting: - Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte (less ice) - Guava Strudel ($1.25) - Coconut Strudel ($1.75) - Chocolate Twist ($2.75) - Potato Ball ($1.45) - Meat pie ($1.40) - Parisian Chocolate Cake Slice ($3.99) STRAWBERRY MATCHA I REALLY liked this matcha. The strawberry jam is a bit grainy which I think might be pulp- it was so good. The sweetness level was just right and I would definitely get this again!! GUAVA STRUDEL ‍ I liked how it wasn't packed full with guava jam, because otherwise the guava paste is super sweet. The pastry itself is fluffy, light and crispy. CHOCOLATE TWIST I really like the sugar sprinkles on top, it added nice texture. There wasn't a lot of chocolate so it wasn't super sweet. It was good but not anything special. COCONUT STRUDEL This is coated with sugar sprinkles all over the outside which adds a nice texture but it can be a bit sweet. Their coconut paste is also very sweet. Compared to the guava strudel, the filling of this one is also more chunky than smooth. POTATO BALL I got this heated up there. It was very crispy and had lots of filling, with a good amount of meat. The first layer was the crispy part, then potato, then meat in the inside. MEAT PIE I also got this headed up there. The dough was light and crispy, especially the edges. I liked the top, which seemed to be glazed with something sweet. There was however minimal meat on the inside. PARISIAN CHOCOLATE CAKE SLICE This was fluffy and light, and the right amount of moistness. The cream isn't too heavy either. Reminds me of cake from Asian bakeries.

Britt O.

Yelp
Ok, so this place is a fancier Panera on steroids. I was kinda bummed because I thought I was heading to a quaint coffee shop / cafe (didn't do much research) but that's not what Porto's is for..Porto's is built for high volume foot traffic due to its proximity to Knotts Berry Farms. Not what I had in mind but they handle volume customers well. I placed my order in under 5 minutes and food was brought to my table within 10-15 minutes. Servers were all so friendly. The Anaheim area must have the friendliest people on earth because that's been the case everywhere I've gone here. I ordered the chicken milanese. It was fine. Fresh ingredients. Not really memorable dish but for under $10 I can't really complain. I loved being able to watch the bakers hand pipe some of the pasties. I think this is a neat place overall, but not your spot if you're looking for a lovely, more intimate Saturday morning cafe experience.

Krishna C.

Yelp
Cuban Toast is the Mrs.'s favorite. Chicken Milanesa is Ian's favorite. I love their Ropa Vieja sandwich. We have been to this Portos a couple of hundred times since it opened a few years ago. We are still a sucker for their Cheese rolls, potato balls, meat pies, ham croquettes, etc. They originally used to have a lot of different varieties of cake slices. Their selection has since dwindled down, especially after the pandemic. That is the only knock I have. If their cake selections improves, I would be here even more instead of going to 85°C or Tour Les Jours. I am usually here at 6:25 AM. The managers always open the doors early compared to the Downey location. I always appreciate it. I order my sandwiches at the coffee register. I then pickup the pastries, and by the time staff rings my pastries up, my sandwich order is ready, and I am out of the place by 6:45 AM. Easy peasy. This is how you order to save on time.

Tony P.

Yelp
If you don't know about Porto's Bakery, you're seriously missing out! Everything here is absolutely amazing I haven't tried a single thing I didn't like. The coffee cake is so good, I take it home and enjoy it for days. And don't even get me started on the guava and cheese pastrys it's out of this world! Highly recommend this place. Get the dulce de leche latte

Elisa L.

Yelp
Porto's is always so good and worth hitting up everytime I'm up north! It was my first time at the Buena Park location and boy was I shocked at how big and bustling the place was. Lines were long but moved fairly quickly with how fast and efficient their workers are! There's a huge parking lot in the back but expect it to be busy. I love their cheese rolls and guava strudel. The cheese rolls are crispy yet light, and perfectly sweet and salty.

Mary V.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place. The service here is stellar, and no matter how long the lines are, you will get through this place super quick. The orange juice is fresh squeezed so always pick yourself up that treat. For a hearty breakfast, the Breakfast Wrap is still the best breakfast burrito you can ever get in your life. The seasonal item, Pumpkin Cheesecake is so good! It has a lovely dark chocolate crust and it's layered with a rich, smooth caramel. Definitely get the spicy potato bites. It's such a delight and although the outside is warm to touch, the inside is hot and full of cheesy goodness.

Bryan L.

Yelp
The line was extremely long to enter the store and parking was not as convenient but both are manageable if you are patient. I can't imagine how parking will be once the second restaurant in that plaza opens up. Place is always busy no matter what time of day or day of the week. That's just the nature of Porto's. I've only had their pastries but they're all delicious. From their croquette, to there guava pastries, and cookies, and potatoes balls, if I could. I would eat everything. I would recommend dropping by if you're visiting the area or showing guests what Anaheim has to offer.

Sadig A.

Yelp
Porto's Bakery in Buena Park exceeded all expectations during out recent visit. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The menu is impressively diverse but not overwhelming, offering everything from savory items and sandwiches to sweet treats, all at incredibly reasonable prices--especially considering the quality of the baked goods and pastries. The affordability makes it easy to indulge without breaking the bank. The huge layout of the bakery is also worth mentioning. With two separate sections for ordering, the process is efficient and helps keep things moving, even during peak hours. Parking, often a challenge at popular spots, is a breeze here with a vast lot in the rear, making the bakery easily accessible. Getting out of the parking lot during peak hours is another story and could be a bit challenging so please be careful. So whether you're picking up a quick snack or planning to enjoy a meal, Porto's in Buena Park delivers on both convenience and quality. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fresh, delicious food at a great value.

Lorraine G.

Yelp
A must-visit when in LA! This was my first time at this location, and it did not disappoint. We arrived at 8am and there was a short line, but it moved quickly. Jelena, my server, was friendly, accommodating, and very efficient. I requested my items to be split into multiple boxes, and she handled it without any issues. Everything is reasonably priced and there's a variety of pastries to choose from! My favorites are the guava strudel, chicken empanadas, and the seasonal blueberry cheese croissant. Also ordered the chorizo, egg, and cheese sandwich for the road. While the bread looked dry and tasteless, it was surprisingly soft. Took awhile for the sandwich to be ready so be prepared to wait. FYI, guava strudels, chicken empanadas, and meat pies freeze well, so I always buy extras and freeze them to enjoy later!

Yelp
This location still deserves 5 stars. Don't be discouraged when you see the long line. They are extremely organized and have been for years. The line moves quick!!! Just a tip- if you're a repeat customer like myself, have your order already ready by the time you get up front. I put my order on my notepad on the phone. I even split my order sometimes... some things I order to eat there, and some I take home. The employees are well trained and get it right each time. Job well done Porto's! Now let's talk about having a San Diego location shall we haha. Hey.. if Roscoes can do it... I don't see why Porto's can't IJS.

Yelp
I've been here since I was in Middle School and I got to say, the owners picked a great location as it's easy for my peers and family to come here for the food. The workers are amazing. Place can be crowded but just be patient. The place is nice and I would love to come here again someday.

Yelp
Porto's is always a 10/10! My first time at this location, it's very large, modern and spacious inside. The line was long Saturday afternoon but it moved quickly and orderly, we were out of the door within 15 mins. Ordered a dozen cheese rolls and two guava strudels for $15. What a steal! Staff are always great too. Plentiful parking in the back but it's busy!

Yelp
Porto's is a Cuban bakery that has a great selection of unique sweet and savory as well as fresh and ready-made pastries & hot and cold drinks. It's very versatile and a California foodie must visit! This location has parking in a lot, but it often gets crowded so prepared to wait for a bit. There's always a line here, but it moves relatively quickly. The menu is available if you scan a QR code, but the items are also written on signs around. There's also a few tables to stand at to eat once you've ordered as well. They decorate very cute during the holidays & have nice packaging for gifts too. The croquettes here are a must - the potato and cheese ones are the best! Also, the Dulce de Leche cake roll is one of my favorite desserts of all time. It has a thin crunchy shell and the cake is the perfect amount of sweet and moist. They don't sell by the slice though, so you have to buy the whole roll. The desserts are a bit pricy but definitely worth it! I've been here 3x and have tried something new that I love each time!

Yelp
As hectic as the parking and store can be, the food is well worth the wait! Be prepared to wait in line. There is a reason they sell out quickly! From the cheese balls to the breakfast sandwiches and cheese cakes, you cannot make a bad decision!

Yelp
We don't leave California without getting a few boxes of Porto's! I've been to this location multiple times but today was the busiest I've ever seen- the line was out the door to the parking lot but the whole operation from start to finish was seamless. I have SO much respect and appreciation for a fully staffed & well equipped company that prioritizes efficiency without compromising the customer experience. It was like they were trained by the military. I'm just so impressed! Pastries & savories 10/10 as per usual. Shout out to my favorites: ham croquette & cheese roll. PLEASE consider opening in Washington! Nothing else compares.

Yelp
Easy Online Pick-Up and Yummy Cake!!! I made an online pick-up order of the Milk N' Berries Cake Round with the Happy Birthday Plaque and 5 Potato Balls. The Milk N' Berries Cake Round is a round tres-leches cake with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries on top and in between the cake layers. The cake was delicious, and there was enough milk to keep the cake soaked. The Happy Birthday Plaque was free to add, and it's very pretty. It's not the best tasting, but it's just a simple chocolate plaque. The Potato Balls are super popular for good reason. There's nothing like them; they're delicious, they're filling, and the ground beef filling is seasoned to perfection. The employees are patient and very helpful! I asked the employee working at the pick-up area if I could pick up my order 30 minutes early, and she gave me a number card as I waited. You do need to show them the card you used to pay and your ID that matches the name of the Pick-Up Person. You're able to wait at the standing waiting area near the pick-up counter, or you can roam around the bakery. I decided to roam around and bought a couple more things at a different counter. I came back to pick up my cake, and the employee told me that if I ever want to add anything to my pick-up order, please inform them because it will be faster and easier. I thought that was very kind! The bakery is nicely decorated, and it's always super clean. I can't recall a time the bakery was ever slightly dirty. Parking may be difficult to find during peak hours, but I usually think parking isn't that bad. There's always tons of fun pastries at Porto's! I know I will definitely try something new the next time I go there!!

Yelp
Love it! This is a must-stop for us. Hubby & I are huge fans of this bakery. Our son loves the chocolate chip muffin. For breakfast I tried the ham croissant. Mmm. Good size. Very filling. Lots of flaky layers. The next day hubby and the boy tried it. I got the all day breakfast empanada. Mmm. Small but very tasty. Yes, get it! We also like the potato ball, the turkey & gravy ball, the ham croquette & the chicken ball. Three is my limit. Mmm. Our son only likes one of them though. So, we go a few times. On our travel day, we take an order to-go, for dinner later. I love the guava pastry. Hubby loves the House Cold Brew. All around, easily, one of our favorites in SoCal. The busy parking lot is evidence that there are a lot of fans here too. Looks like it is top-rated on Yelp. We went here twice, this week, spent $42. Very happy with the pricing.

Yelp
Amazing! I've been here once before and was overwhelmed with the huge building! This time was better. It was still hard to choose what to get but it was all amazing!! We had a chocolate croissant and a blueberry muffin and an egg and cheese on a croissant. I didn't get all the pictures because we ate it too fast!

Yelp
We got the plato de pollo ($12.49), chicken milanesa sandwich ($9.59), and medianoche (midnight sandwich) ($8.29). The plato de pollo had grilled citrus chicken breast, jasmine rice, black beans, fried plantain, salsa verde, and plantain chips. I liked the crispy texture of the grilled chicken skin and its citrusy seasoning. Eaten with the hot jasmine rice, the meal felt like comfort food. It would've been even better if there was more rice to go with the plate. The black beans made the meal filling and blended well with the salsa. I liked the plantain chips more than the fried plantain because of its savory taste and crispy texture. The chips made for a satisfying mix of slightly salty and sweet flavors. The platos made us full, so we took the sandwiches to go. The chicken milanesa comes with smashed avocado, a mild jalapeño spread, and breaded chicken breast on a pressed medianoche roll. This was my favorite meal, and I came back here after several years because I remember how great this sandwich tasted. I'd rank this my favorite chicken sandwich, and it comes at an affordable price for the quality you get. The sandwich isn't spicy, and the jalapeño spread tastes very mild. I also had a bite of the midnight sandwich, which roasted pork, ham, and Cuban dressing. I felt like that was their standard sandwich, but the chicken milanesa appeals much more to my tastebuds. We got here around 7 pm on a Thursday evening and had to park toward the back. We waited in line for about five minutes and found a seat easily despite a good amount of people already eating here. The restaurant is big and has two lines and ordering counters on adjacent sides. The customer service here was excellent as the cashiers got our order, communicated to us, and provided our food to us at our table. Eating here made for a relaxing and great Friday eve.

Yelp
I remember when this Porto's went in and it was a huge deal. My verdict is that the hype is pretty deserved. The space is huge and beautiful, there are plenty of seats, and the menu items are cheap and delicious. For our desserts we had the flan, pumpkin cheesecake, and mango mousse bomb. The flan was too sweet for me, but it was really good so we still finished it all. The pumpkin cheesecake had a strong pumpkin flavor, was not too sweet (a good thing), and had a great crust. The mango mousse also had a strong mango flavor and great texture. Service is great, too. Would definitely recommend Porto's if you're willing to brave the lines. It was still pretty busy on a Wednesday afternoon.

Yelp
I guess I've never reviewed this place before, I am a bit surprised. Came to Portos today after a long time. While it isn't my first choice for Cuban food and pastries, it is close by and convenient. I ordered the media noche sandwich which comes with plantain chips. 5/5. The line moved surprisingly fast and service was great as well. Also ordered some guava and cheese pastelitos, cheese pastelitos and ham croquetas to go. Got a pack of galletas cubanas to go with 'em. Everything is as I remember, delicious and brings back nostalgia from my childhood, growing up in Miami, these types of treats are always around and much easier to find. However here in SoCal, I am glad we have a portos to fulfill my Cuban food needs lol.

Yelp
It's Porto's. The place is good. Consistent and a steady stream of customers. We always get potatoes balls. This time I tried the Cubano. Good sandwich but small for $10. The people are hardworking and the system they have is efficient, space is clean.

Yelp
Definite MUST try!!! I brought this to a potluck where half the party didn't like pumpkin and the other half didn't favor cheesecake, but this ended up being a huge hit! Dulce de leche topping and Oreo cookie crust to seal the deal it was delicious. This will definitely be the center of every Thanksgiving dinner who needs the pie when you can have this!

Yelp
1. The drinks were delicious and nicely made! We also ordered pastries, and they were pretty! 2. The spot is spacious with busy casual vibes! 3. There are indoor and outdoor settings! 4. Parking lot is huge, but it gets pretty packed! Difficult to get into the lot as well as get out of it! 5. The staff were friendly and quick with our orders! Note: The pickup area is separate from the order areas! Photo: Blended Mocha and Strawberry Matcha Latte

Yelp
I have only experienced takeout from Porto's so I cannot speak to the service. I can however say that the potato balls are so good that I have since ordered them twice to be shipped to me. When I flew to Georgia to visit family I ordered a box of goodies to bake at home. It was a great treat for everyone. I highly recommend the Churro Croissant and the potato balls. I prefer the balls filled with cheese and peppers. My husband likes the balls filled with beef.

Yelp
This place is amazing. For the uninitiated, it can be a little bit overwhelming thank goodness they have their own parking lot, which is pretty busy. There are two sides - the bakery and the café. I didn't have a chance to go into the café, but I can't wait to do that next time. So this review is just for the bakery part. There are three main areas, not including the sitting area. There is a coffee bar, the bakery ordering area for walk-ins, and then also the Mobile Order pick up area. The walk in line was not bad at all, and I did not have to wait very long for someone to start working on my order. You just let them know all of the different things that you're interested in and they will write it down and gather everything together for you . When they're done, they will call you to a register to checkout. Don't worry if you don't know everything that you want, you can walk among the cases with your attendant and they can help out with pastry suggestions and help with any questions. My attendant provided great service, was very friendly, and attentive, and they don't rush you at all. I would actually say the Mobile Order pick up line was much longer, and there were tons more people waiting for their orders over there. We ordered several things, including the turkey croissant, but unfortunately, they did not have any at that time. So we did get two meat pies, a ham croquette, a sourdough baguette, two mango bombes, two tiramisu cups, and two fruit tarts. For whatever reason I felt like that was not enough and should've probably ordered more. Both my mom and my daughter loved the tiramisu cups, they said the mascarpone was very creamy and flavorful with just the right amount of cream, chocolate, and cookies. My daughter, also tried the mango bombe, which she said was fruity and creamy with the nice flaky coconut as well. The cake was also very light. We're going to try the fruit tarts tonight. For the savory side, the meat pies were well seasoned, and the pastry flaky. The ham croquette was nice and crunchy and was just a nice little savory treat. It can get pretty busy in here and it especially seems like the Mobile Order pick up line is the most busiest. When you walk in the door, there is this in rush of conversational noise and service, so just be ready for that. Traffic can also be a little bit daunting as people turn into the driveway to the parking lot. You just have to have a lot of patience in trying to find a parking spot.

Yelp
The wait for a parking spot and ordering is worth! Not only am I amazed by the long line every single time I go here but also the quality they are consistently serving to customers. Sometimes service can get a little frustrating but I understand because of the crowd and people have to shout out their orders due to how busy they are. It's a little rowdy and may be hard to find seats, but people come and go so waiting a little is ok too. The workers still try to provide the best service they can. Anyways, I recently discovered their Cuban sandwich and I am in love with it. Very crunchy bread and is stacked with layers of ham and pickles. The mustard and pickles add in a perfect zesty taste and texture to the sandwich. Their house coffee is always a classic, but the guava refresher is so cooling and refreshing on any hot day. Must try too!

Yelp
Took a road trip specifically for Porto's. I personally did not come here super excited but I have many friends and family members who RAVE about this place. We were greeted at the door and told to hop in line. I couldn't help but notice the rustic/farmhouse feel.. it's gorgeous! This place was busy but apparently not as busy as they usually are. They are prepped and ready for long lines and difficult parking but our experience was great- found a spot almost immediately and didn't wait in line more than 10 minutes. I ordered besitos, fruit tarts, and their seasonal Turkey and Gravy potato ball- can we please keep this one on the menu??

Yelp
Alright, Alright!! At this point, I'm sure it goes without having to mention how amazing and delicious Porto's Bakery is!! So lemme just take the time to gush over one employee, an employee who honestly made my last visit [Sunday, 9/1/24] the most enjoyable. Shout out to Ms. EJ!! You are absolutely amazing!! Not only is your kindness undeniable but your beauty from within shines through!! Our party of 3 arrived bright and early @ about 8:30am. As expected, the parking lot was getting quite busy and the long line of people waiting to get into the doors was only continuing to grow and grow. We stood in line and reviewed the menu, confirming what our order would consist of. The line moved along fairly quickly so, again, having all your orders mentally squared away is key. Dealing with staff is either a hit or miss. Being as consistently busy as Porto's is, I totally understand the grumpy faces and the annoyed looks stemming from indecisive and demanding patrons. Lucky for us, we got EJ. Sweet from the initial interaction to the very end. She was thorough with our order, reading it back to us to make sure she didn't miss a thing. We added on a few items and she didn't make a fuss. Above all, I genuinely appreciated her kind way of speaking- so very endearing!! 5/5 stars. The eats are already guaranteed to be great @ Porto's Bakery & Cafe but an interaction with someone like Ms. EJ in this kind of hectic, fast paced environment is like finding a needle in the haystack. I pray they treat her well, she is absolutely an asset to this company!

Yelp
I heart you Porto's. Porto's and I go way back. I must admit, I like to bring Porto's home more than an actual sit down visit, but it has never let me down. Porto's is THE spot you can depend on whenever you need good food for your next party. They have savories, sweets, cakes, etc. .. and all for a very reasonable price. The best part? Everyone loves Porto's! My favorite things to order from Porto's: Cheese Rolls, Ham Croquette, Potato Balls, and Empanadas. I would recommend ordering online and picking up, as they get busy. They take online orders daily starting at 10 pm, and you must order within that day. I recently picked up Porto's for a beach party, and it was a hit (as always)! Wish I could have taken pics of the food, but was too excited lol. Thanks Porto's!
