Definitely a true example of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” At first glance, the outside of the establishment didn’t seem very appealing but the moment you walk in, everything changes. The décor, the music, and the overall vibe wrap around you and make you feel like you’re somewhere that truly cares. Cares about the service they’re providing, cares about the food they’re preparing, and cares about the drinks they’re crafting. The menu offers something for everyone. I’d describe the cuisine as Mexican fusion not your typical Mexican dishes, but you can absolutely taste the spices and bold flavors throughout. I had a delicious pasta with chorizo and shrimp that was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, and my drink was superb. And the chicharrónes? A must try appetizer!

Went there for our Anniversary dinner. It was a great experience. It is upscale mexican fusion bougie place. The ambience of restaurant was very nice & staff/servers were really helpful. Their chef I have heard has very unique mexican fusion dishes that preserve the mexican flavors while blending with modern dishes. They also had placards & complimentary desserts for iur anniversary. We tried fried cauliflower - their famous app, steak & fish plate. The flavours were really awesome. You could experience all the flavours on your pallete. Also tried some cocktails - old fashioned: they nailed it! Try some of the hidden gem whiskeys from the last page of menu. Def recommend !

Not your hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. This one’s more on the fancier/pricier side. You are immediately greeted with super polite hostess. Then the super friendly server comes and helps with the order. BUT the food is BLAH!! This is not an authentic Mexican food. It’s aimed more towards people who cannot handle flavors but want to eat something different. After the server overly hyped the menu and the dishes, we ordered the chips n guacamole to start with. I have never in my life had such a boring guacamole. It was so plain and bland that I had to add lime on it to make it more edible. Could have just eaten an avocado on its own. There was chicken quesadillas, which was okay nothing special again. Then comes the super hyped dish by the server. She literally kept talking about it for couple of minutes that how people get extra spoons to have the sauce of this dish because it is that amazing and it’s their signature most popular dish…….it was, King Ranch Enchiladas - the most boring dish. It felt like literally, they have emptied the cheese sauce from a bottle jar onto the plate and warmed it up. There were three enchiladas, which was very flavorless again. The worst part of all they served it with some sort of rice and corn on the side and guess what? The rice was uncooked and raw. It was not even chewable. We had to spit it out because the rice was undone. When we complained to the waitress, she went back to the Chef to talk about it and guess what the Chef said? Oh the rice must have gone hard because it’s cooked in butter. I mean really? That is the most absurd reason/logic I’ve ever heard. Instead of apologizing for your mistake in cooking and serving raw food to us you are telling me that the rice got hard by cooking in the butter. I am sorry that’s insane for $30 a dish that was a total waste of my money and my appetite. They did not even have the basic courtesy to replace the rice for us. For such basic and mediocre overall food paying almost $150 was a total ripoff. This place is not authentic at all. It’s just a very bland overpriced boring so-called Mexican restaurant won’t be returning won’t be recommending to anybody else!!

Truly a hidden gem in Livermore. We appreciate the service here and, even more, we appreciate the food that this establishment makes. Everything so far that we have ordered from our two visits have tasted really good. They have live music and paella night on Mondays. Reservations are strongly recommended according to our server. We will be here next time in a Monday 😊.

Outstanding! Everything was top-notch. My wife and I had the Chicharrón with Hatch Chile corn dip appetizer, the Beet Salad and the Agua Chile Ribeye. Finished off with the Peanut Butter Toffee Bar…….scrumptious! The live music was perfectly mellow and combined with the excellent ambiance. The lighting is perfect. The servers warm and very conscientious and best of all were the owners Eduardo and Blanca Posada warmly interacting with their guests.

The food, service and ambience were top notch. The dishes were delicious, using fresh ingredients that were seasoned just right. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There are seating options both inside and out. They have live music on Sundays which was a nice touch to a lovely meal.

The atmosphere is really the show stopper here. It's amazing what they've been able to create in such an unsuspecting location. The service was also absolutely fabulous and the food was good. We loved the cauliflower and elote. The Enchiladas were good but if you put the elote over the top, they're great! This is a perfect date night vibe: beautiful and romantic! 💖

I am so happy I found this place! This is how I want to eat every day! Service and Cadillac Margarita were wonderful. Mahi Mahi fish tacos with watermelon salad are to die for! After that, the hazelnut crunch square with delicious light berry sauce, strawberries, and whole toasted hazelnuts was heaven. I will definitely be back for more of this! Came back today and had another Cadillac Margarita with the King Ranch Enchiladas and Roasted Beet Salad. So freaking delicious! 😋

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and it has never disappointed. Tonight we had the rehouse guacamole appetizer, shrimp entree and the mahi-mahi tacos. Portions were adequate to share and were perfectly prepared. They have one of, if not the best, wine collections of any restaurant we have ever been to. Tonight our server, Sheri, provided outstanding all around service. She was engaging, professional, and very entertaining. We absolutely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

It had been years since I'd last been here, so I came back with a couple of friends for Paella Mondays. I really liked that they had live music playing, it added to the overall vibe of the evening. The paella was a good portion for two people to share. It came out in the classic paella pan and was pretty good overall. We might've had leftovers if we weren't so hungry. My only complaint was that it was missing that crispy rice layer at the bottom, which is my favorite part of paella. For dessert, we shared the tres leches cake, and wow, the slice was huge and definitely meant for sharing, and also delicious. The restaurant was very busy that night and packed with people. Some of the other menu items are on the pricey side. As someone who grew up eating Mexican food, it's hard for me to justify paying those prices for dishes I'm used to making at home. That said, paella is something that takes time and effort and isn't something I normally make myself, so it felt more worth it. Overall, a fun night with good food, live music, and a lively atmosphere.

My bf and I stumbled upon here while looking for a spot to eat at near his workplace at the time. Turns out we loved it so much, we will be returning even though it is far from us! The chicharrones and corn cheese dip was to die for -- the crispy crackiness paired with the dip was enough for me to come back! Then the king ranch enchiladas with the side of rice and corn made the meal 10x better. Service is attentive and ambience is very nice!

We love Posada! The staff is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. It's a great spot for groups, solo dining, or dates. Mondays are paella night with live music. Always a treat!

Some of thee best tacos. My favorite was the veggie. I liked the rice and corn add on, but I still would like the traditional beans. Everything was a la cart, which allows you to mix and match. I would recommend and will be back.

We've been here multiple times and always had a great experience. This visit really stood out because of how well the owner handled a small issue with spice levels when dining with our baby. He was kind, professional, and immediately made things right. Excellent hospitality and management. This is exactly why we keep coming back. Highly recommend, especially for families.

Came here on a weekend night and this place was pretty packed. We had made an online reservation and the place was pretty crowded when we got here. I ordered the King Ranch enchiladas and my partner ordered the shrimp and chorizo pasta. We shared the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was probably the best dish with its sauce. The pasta was bland even though the shrimp and chorizo had some flavor. The enchiladas were cheesy yet bland and I don't think the bacon went very well with it. The rice that came with the enchiladas was a little hard and there was very little corn with it. The enchiladas could have used more flavor and sauce. I ordered salsa on the side and they charged $3 extra. The drinks were also fine, but again nothing special. We also ordered churros and those were pretty standard. I think what annoyed us is that they charge a 3% charge to use a card -- as if the prices of the food was not already high. We weren't very happy with our food here and I'm not sure we would return.

Posada is one of the only places in the tri-valley that serves chicken pozole (as opposed to pork). Very tasty and filling on a cold winter evening!

We absolutely LOVVEEE this place!! The food is extremely tasty, i myself love the enchiladas with that rice with corn on top of it mmmmm & to top it off there's this alcoholic slushy that is suuuupeer strong lol they tell you when you get it that the limit is 3, although i only need 1 haha. The first time we went was a little warmer so we were able to sit outside (which i prefer) but the second time we went was way colder so we had to sit inside which to be honest i didn't really love..There's this older man that was at the host stand which i don't know if he's the owner or what, but he was a little on the rude side to us which is why i only rate this place 4 out of 5 stars. The food is 5 out of 5 & i will definitely go back a third time, but just the older gentleman's demeanor made us feel belittled by the way he responded to us wanting to sit in a specific spot...not a HUGE deal, which is why i wont take away anymore stars from them, but he was very short with us after that whole encounter. My wife absolutely loved this tacos, & our friend was a fan of the chilaquiles. It's a little hole in the wall because the outside patio walls kind of cover it, but trust me when i say that this place is bomb! The waitresses are amazing as well, even the busboys who come fill up the water are on top of it. All in all, it really is High Fine Dining!!

Fantastic and attentive service Delicious food Nice ambiance it's the restaurant Clean bathrooms What more can you ask for! I ordered one of the fish taco platter (comes with a watermelon side salad). The salad was so refreshing to pair with the taco. We shared the garlic shrimp appetizer and my friend got the short ribs taco. Overall had a great experience. The only downside was the place was a little pricey for the food and portion size.

Service and food were very good. Solid cocktails and servers were timely and pleasant.

This was our first time to Posada. I've been wanting to try this for a while and since it was a Resy restaurant, decided to give it a try. We ordered the cauliflower, short ribs and the wagyu flank. 5 star system (Service, Food Presentation, Value, Ambience, Food Taste) 1 star for service - great service! 1 star for food presentation - came out looking lovely 1 star for ambience - the restaurant gives off a really romantic vibe - love it!! That's a total of 3 stars for this visit! Posada did not receive a star for the Food Taste because I ordered "medium RARE" for the wagyu flank and what was delivered to the table was well done, which completely ruined the texture and taste of the meat, making it taste like sand paper. I've had Wagyu at different restaurants plus I've ordered Wagyu from places like Snake River and The Wagyu Shop. The piece of meat that was served did not taste like Wagyu. As far as I could tell, there was no marbling and no buttery taste. It really was "sandpapery". Was a disappointment as I was looking forward to a great piece of meat. Posada did not earn a star for VALUE for two reasons. The prices are high for what is served. For the amount charged, I can get some really wonderful dishes at other local restaurants in the same level AND Posada is one of a small population of restaurants that charges a 3% fee (3% of the bill) if the customer elects to use a credit card. Now ... who doesn't use credit cards these days?

After a day of shopping at the outlets my friend wanted Mexican food to get a margarita and lunch. I looked for a place on yelp and came across Posada. They do have a patio of outdoor seating which was an option for us but the day was cold so we dined inside. Our server Sherri was really attentive we started with a Paloma Margarita very tasty. And the avocado salad was fresh and so good with shrimp. I had the mahi tacos really good and fresh accompanied with a watermelon salad. Friend had the enchiladas she enjoyed it but needed a box to take home. For desserts we did the flan which I loved very creamy and smooth. I great spot will be back.

I met a few friends here for lunch since we've never been. The restaurant is located in a plaza with tons of parking. Even though we could not make reservations online for lunch on a Sunday, only one other party was there. So don't worry about coming early to get a table. Our waiter was very friendly and kept checking on us. I ordered the shrimp and chorizos with fettuccine pasta tossed in a lemon cream sauce, Mexican chorizo, Spanish-style sausage, and crostinis. I was the dish having too much lemon flavor, but I couldn't taste the lemon at all, which is a good thing. I like the bits of Mexican chorizo in the dish and a grilled sausage on top. The dish was delicious, and everything worked well together. My favorite part was using the crostinis to dip into the cream sauce. I highly recommend this dish! [BEWARE] This restaurant does not carry any hot sauce at all. This is weird, especially for a Latin restaurant specializing in southwestern cuisine. Even the most basic restaurant has hot sauce. Our waiter offered me sliced serranos instead. That's not the same thing. I said okay to it, but he never brought it out.

We have been here several times and always had a wonderful time with the food and service. Unfortunately, the shrimp & chorizo that I got late Saturday night gave me food poisoning all day on Sunday, and I am still recovering on Monday. :( I saw that there was a review from 11 months ago with the same experience. I hope everyone stays away from this dish. Besides that, one fewer reason to return is that our favorites, Caesar salad and watermelon salad, are no longer on the menu.

Randomly stumbled on this spot and wow--what a pleasant surprise! The vibe relaxing and decor is gorgeous, perfect for date night. Restaurant was full, but not loud. Food was absolutely amazing and packed with unique flavors you don't find everywhere. Drinks were on point too --tasty and well-balanced. Service was excellent , super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely coming back soon! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Service was great! The decor of the restaurant is a bit odd, but overall I would return! Great place to have lunch or dinner after wine tasting at Wente!

The menu is relatively small, but there are some interesting dishes on there. The guacamole was pretty bland. The King Ranch enchiladas were tasty and cheesy and gooey but the rice on the side was just plain white rice. The shrimp tostadas were only decent, though the shrimp were huge and very nicely grilled and super tasty. The spicy Santa Fe margarita was very tasty, but the sangrita was just a frozen meh lime margarita with a little floater of sangria on it. The service was a bit slow at times and the prices were fairly high.

A long time favorite...this year we had the pleasure of dining on Thanksgiving. We have always had a homemade feast, but it was just us....my hubby, DD and her family this year. Dining out at one of our favorite restaurants was very appealing. It was also very last minute...fortunately a call secured us a table. The menu was amazing... so many choices on a Prefixed Menu. Wine list was wonderful. My meal... I felt the Turkey Milanese was a tiny bit over breaded...but the meat was tender and delicious...portions were very generous. The veggies were perfectly cooked, and mashed potatoes were grandma quality. Others raved about their choices, we were a throughly satisfied group. Our GF young woman was graciously accommodated. For dessert I had yummy Pecan Pie, each and every dessert was a delicious ending to a great celebratory meal. I would return to Posada for a Holiday meal in a heartbeat!

Love this place! First, the ambience is great. Nice outdoor patio and indoor dining is nice for special gatherings and date night. Fried cauliflower and dipping sauce was perfect. Ceviche was sushi grade and fresh. My bestie had the enchiladas/flautas - awesome! The finale was the tres leches cake which we ate in 3 mins flat it was so good. The server, Franky G., was phenomenal. Super attentive yet not overbearing. Loved the cocktail menu. Will definitely be back!

The service and ambiance were good for the most part but felt the food missed the mark a little bit....i wanted to really enjoy it, especially for the price, but one the appetizers came out lukewarm. I got the agua chile ribeye as my main, which was cooked nicely but also came out lukewarm. Fairly disappointing all things considered. Also paid cash and left a solid tip regardless of the food temp because I did feel like the server did a good job, when they took the check, they came back shortly and asked "we all good?", instead of asking if I needed change....i didn't need change but it's the way that it was asked that rubbed me the wrong way..especially at a nicer restaurant. All in all, I don't think it's a bad restaurant, just a couple things that missed the mark from being great.

Really cute and intimate place. Had late lunch and early dinner here with my family to celebrate our anniversary that day. We Yelped what's near us and It did not disappoint. Sherry took care of us and she was delightful. The food was very delicious! We enjoyed all of it. We ordered Watermelon Salad, king Ranch chicken Enchiladas and adobo chicken Fajitas. I would recommend this place for special occasions and would certainly love to come back again.

This place is overrated it was very pricey Mexican food that is mediocre the service is horrible the owner is very rude. I wouldn't recommend this place. Save your time and money go somewhere else. This has nothing to do with parking!!!! Save your money people don't go there rude owner!

One of my favorite places for Sunday lunch. Amazing food and great service. We love the cauliflower and shrimp avocado apps. Also appreciate the mocktails (especially blueberry splash) to keep us on track for dry January.

Posada Alta Cocina is a nice restaurant. At first, you walk up to the entrance, and you see the shaded patio area. But once you pass the entrance, you are treated to a nice elegantly decorated restaurant with muted lighting and candles on the table. Service is very friendly and helpful to point out the dishes they recommend. All the servers & busboys were very attentive. We were looking at a few HH items, but we only chose one of the three choices before 5 pm. Chicharrones & Corn Cheese Dip: creamy sauce of cheddar, jack cheese, topped with NM hatch green chiles, served with fried cracklings (pork skin). (4/5). The dip was delicious. creamy cheesy and gooey. The green chiles were not spicy but gave a tartness to the dip. The chicharrones were lightly seasoned also. Watermelon Salad (Single size): Fresh greens, pickled cabbage, queso fresco, mango, tajin, mango habernero vinaigrette (4/5). She suggested the dressing on the side. Good thing, too! The dressing really packs some heat! All the fresh ingredients went well together. Agua Chile Ribeye: charbroiled ribeye strips, spicy compound butter, serranos, pickled red onions, on a bed of spicy citrus-soy broth, side of classic Mexican red rice, corn tortillas. She asked if we would like it cooked medium rare? Yes. The broth has a nice flavor to it. The other ingredients were pretty good. But, unfortunately, our steak came out medium with some strips well done. :( Otherwise, it was a good dish. The picture doesn't look pretty, but the broth and butter were good. We were too full to have any dessert. But they had some good choices.

The service was great! This lady who was helping us was the nicest person ever. She helped decide what to get & also helped us modify a couple things. Food was delicious! My friend weren't entirely hungry but we wanted to try some appetizers and they were great & fulfilling. They had some interesting cocktails. The inside was very nice. I saw they had a wine room. The bar can seat a few people. We had a great time.

An upscale restaurant in a shopping center. We shared an appetizer, shrimp with avocado salad, that was delicious! I enjoyed mahi mahi tacos and watermelon salad a lot although the salad was a bit too salty. The atmosphere was very elegant and would be nice for a date dinner.

Came over for a Friday lunch to see what upscale Mexican would be like. Unfortunately came out very disappointed . Ordered the Baja tacos at $24 and the Enchiladas at $30. Dishes came out very quickly - a sign that everything is pretty well already made behind the scenes - But what is this - fries with 4 small tacos not even a lime slice included. The fish tacos were defintely premade and warmed up with a microwave. Somewhat tasty though the dryness of the fish gave it away that this was precooked. My partner had the enchiladas - sauce super creamy and again struck as a meal microwaved and sent out. The menu at this restaurant is pretty small so you think the chef could fresh cook everything - unfortunately this chef has got lazy and cut corners - Needs some re education by Gordon Ramasay on how these dishes should be prepared and how they should look . Disappointed - won't be back.

This is my second visit to Posada. I ordered the Parmesan Cauliflower, steak and prawn fajita, and drinks. The food was delish and the cocktails well balanced. My fav was the Fogata, a pear puree, whisky, and squeeze of citrus. Bartender was so nice explained all the drinks, service and ambience were top notch. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This was my husband's date night choice and I must say....FABULOUS CHOICE! It was a Thursday and we did not have a reservation however they happily sat us. They have a cozy patio with lots of heaters and people were happily enjoying their meals with cozy blankets and heaters. We sat inside the lovely dinning room and started with the chicharrones. They were light and tasty not heavy. I ordered the shrimp a d chorizo pasta and it was fantastic. Perfectly cooked shrimp and chorizo it was so flavorful. My husband had the rib eye and the combination of the soy broth with the Chiles was magic. We has to order dessert and the Rootbeer Float with bourbon cream did not disappoint my husband had the tortilla cheesecake and it too was tasty. If you're looking to meet for a drink the bar has seating and serves the full menu. Our sever was amazing and had great recommendations she made us feel so special. We are looking forward to going back with friends and family.

I went for dinner (sorry, the food was so good I forgot to take photos!) after a concert and was seated right away. They do take reservations through Rezy. I sat outside, and they had heated lamps that kept me nice and toasty. I had the avocado salad with shrimp, the mole short ribs, the egg custard churros and a mocktail. Everything was exquisite. I'd definitely go back if I'm in Livermore! Price: $125 (w/ 20% tip)

This has become one of my new favorite spots both for groups and for solo meals. The flank is my favorite and I've tried several appetizers and all have been great. Always amazing and attentive service. The Monday paella and music is awesome! Too much paella for one but great to extend through the week.....

As newcomers to the area, we've been exploring local spots, and Posada Alta Cosina was on our list. After dining there for the first time, I can confidently say we will absolutely be back. Everything, and I mean everything, was beyond delicious. We started with the guacamole. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, I had the Wagyu steak Tabla, my husband went with the pork chop Tabla, and our son had the fettuccine pasta with shrimp and chorizo. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. There wasn't a single bite we didn't enjoy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the attention to detail is clear. The owner, Eduardo, personally came to greet our table, which made the experience feel even more special. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and hospitable. Drinks were another highlight. My husband had a glass of wine and was impressed by their wine list, and their craft cocktails were delicious. This place is a gem. From the food to the service to the ambiance, Posada Alta Cosina delivers an exceptional dining experience. If you're in the area (or even if you're not), it's worth making the trip.

What a diamond this place was. Came for my first time on a Monday night which had fantastic music. Amazing ambience, high end presentation, friendly staff, phenomenal food, craft cocktails, and a big difference maker - involved ownership. With the music on Monday's, it's a high end party. There's a bar, and patio seating too. Very unique flavors, especially compared to other local Livermore restaurants. This is truly a place to embrace, and I was filled with regret that it was my first time when I've been in the area for years. My new favorite.

Absolutely delicious! I've been here twice--once with my husband and once with my little sister--and both visits were fantastic. The food is elevated Latin cuisine with bold, flavorful dishes that still feel light and healthy. You can really tell everything is fresh and made from scratch. Service was friendly and attentive both times. I'll definitely be back!

Posada is a great restaurant. The interior is classy without being over the top. The outside covered patio is a nice change from Posada's inside seating. Sheri provided exceptional service while we ate in the patio. The watermelon salad is one of our favorites. Our server acknowledge it is a customer favorite. Tonight Sheri suggested we try the French style roasted chicken. In her words, "it is often overlooked." We were pleasantly surprised. This dish was not your typical "everything tastes like chicken" dinner. The flavors gelled nicely.together and elevated chicken to new heights. We strongly suggest you try it. Next time we plan on trying the Duroc pork chop. Duroc, is a Heritage breed. If you have never been treated to Heritage pork you should try it. Overall, a very nice evening.

A mother's day meal to remember! I was so happy I made a reservation. We sat outside for her 1st mothers Day. The food was fantastic, the chicharrones with corn dip --- ooh la la those crispy crackling pork skins came out hot n ready and were perfect for dunking in that corn dip. I had a Sangrita or two to enjoy with the appetizer and my meal. I had the sea bass, cooked perfectly, with sautéed bells and rice. I made tacos out of it and topped it with the salsa Roja that accompanied the fish. She had the crab enchiladas, which were packed with crab, and that tomatillo sauce was on point. It brought all the flavors of the crab enchiladas together. The service was outstanding. Outdoor seating was perfect as we had a baby stroller. Needless to say, this place is a true gem in Livermore. Make sure you come experience this place. I'll be back! To try more and have a few more sangritas

We went to this Mexican restaurant for dinner with our friends and their children on our visit to Livermore. I started with a paloma cocktail with a tajin rim. Our table shared the guacamole with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly grilled and that guacamole was tasty with a hint of citrus. They could have served more chips with this starter. I had King Ranch Enchiladas for my entree. The three tortillas were filled with with potatoes, bacon,, mozzarella, cheddar and jack cheese, with a chipotle cream sauce topped with salsa. Very good! The restaurant has a lot of seating and a small outdoor patio as well. Leanna was our server and she was friendly, attentive, and provided good service. I'd go back to this restaurant again when I'm in Livermore.

It was definitely the best date night I had here. The restaurant had a cute patio with extra heaters to keep you warm, and they even offered blankets if needed--especially for dining during the winter. Mahi Mahi tacos were amazing! I love the chipotle sauce and it made me want to grab seconds. Tacos were filling with a generous portion of veggies and meat mixed together. The side salad was a delightful surprise, featuring watermelon and a sauce that added a refreshing sweet and sour twist. Cordero had a satisfying crunch, and the sauce and avocado complemented it perfectly. Shrimp and Chorizos dish featured a delicious creamy sauce, and the sausage was absolutely amazing. Our server was so nice and didn't catch his name. But he was very attentive to our table throughout our dining experience. Will definitely be back!

Another fabulous meal at posada today. I got there right when they opened for lunch. Was warmly greeted and seated. My drink and food arrived promptly. I love the ribeye on their menu, it's delicious! Until next time.

Hands down the fanciest Mexican place in the Tri Valley area. This is the perfect place to take your grandparents who want to try something special but aren't ready to venture to Oakland for some to-die-for street tacos. I've been here multiple times and there are some things that don't change: good drinks, great service, and a nice ambiance. In my most recent visit I had the lamb shank and while nice, I felt it was a little under seasoned. I loved the pickled veggies served with the dish and they made some great mezcal cocktails. One recommendation is to skip the free dessert offered if it's your birthday and go with one of the paid options. The churros looked amazing so I'll be back to try them!

What a wonderful lunch we had here! Sunday late afternoon and we were hungry. First time for all 6 of us and Posada did not disappoint. A warm restaurant with wood furniture and decor. Looks like there's outside seating but it was too cold and raining tonight so no one was outside. We arrived at 3pm and it was not busy yet and were seated with menus in hand. Everything, I said everything was so good that we ordered. Amazing flavors. We also enjoyed a few margaritas and they did not disappoint. Service was also terrific. Very attentive servers and waitress. We never had an issue to get service when we need anything. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.

The food is top notch, it's a limited menu but still has a lot of variety. I have been here several times, with different groups of friends and we have enjoyed it every time. One time we asked for a side of hot sauce and they gave us a trio of homemade hot sauces, one of them was very spicy but had so much flavor, it was like a salsa macha, we even took some to go. Perfect spot for a date night for two or even a group. Very nice cocktails and extensive wine list.

The ambiance was top notch. Not your ordinary Mexican restaurant, by far! The King Ranch Enchilada was exquisite! The Cadillac Marguerite was the best I've ever tasted!

We spent the day hanging out in Livermore, and decided on Posada Alta Cocina based on a quick scan of Yelp reviews. We were a little surprised at the menu prices, because two dollar signs suggests meals at a lower price point than $30-40 per person, but since it was for my wife's birthday, we thought WTH, let's go for it anyway. The service was excellent. Very attentive and professional without being intrusive. We wanted for nothing. Waters were refilled often, and we had at least two check-ins during our meal. The blackberry mole short rib was meltingly tender, although the mole was kind of flat (tasting, not shape). It was ok. Not the worst mole, but certainly not the best, either. The tenderloin (came with chicken tinga enchiladas) was perfectly cooked and an outstanding piece of meat. Sort of an interesting combination, but it worked. The best bite I had, though, may have been the small piece of Spanish chorizo I stole from a dining companion's plate. We dined outdoors, and the heaters/heat lamps were inconsistent and didn't really provide even heating across the patio. Some were a little chilly, while others were overheated, and the enclosures seemed to create a venturi effect, funneling the breeze onto one table in particular.

Not many options for vegetarians but overall cozy classy place. Looks very inconspicuous from the outside but a nice "date night" place from the inside. Great service too. The billing at the bar is separate from the billing at the tables.

Let me say this is the first restaurant I came to in Livermore that had flavor and not bland. The food whether you like saucy or spicy spice y they will cater it to your pallet The service was great and the place is clean. Even the chef comes out to say hello
