Curated, exclusive, haute cuisine!
Bloomfield has had the pleasure to welcome back Poulet Bleu, a fine dining experience. Poulet bleu reopened in October and it took about 3 months for us to secure a reservation and let me tell you, it was worth the wait.
Before we talk about the food, it’s worth talking about the mood. Ambient low lighting, 3 distinct dining sections, and a cohesive Persian design offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. You have the covered patio with fountain as you walk in and elements of alfresco feel carried through to the back dinning room. The middle you’ll find an eat in bar, followed by the eat in kitchen where we had the pleasure of watching our meal prepared and the hustle of the kitchen staff. It was an experience that was comfortable and entertaining.
The menu is tailored, upscale, and so, so French. Poulet Bleu is a French restaurant that knows that has an emphasis on quality food and service. A lot of American food models French cuisine. Poulet Bleu delivers exceptional French flair!
We ordered the Escargot, Les Steak Frites (Filet Mignon), Roasted Duck, and the Chocolate Soufflé!
All were exceptional in quality, flavor profiles, and presentation. If I have to choose one? I’d go back, again, and again for the Chocolate Soufflé! I would get 3 courses of the Soufflé, the only problem is they need to be ordered in advance because they take 40 minutes to bake! Keep in mind and order at the beginning. I cannot stress enough how delicious, delicate, and divine that chocolate Soufflé was. You must try it!
The service was stellar. Our waiter (Damien) was attentive and knowledgeable. After ordering we waited no longer than 20 minutes and food was served. Damien was very quick on his toes, charming, and overly friendly. Exactly the type of service you should expect at a restaurant of such caliber.
A few considerations: The food menu could be considered on the pricier side, especially with portion sizes of the dishes. Poulet Bleu offers multiple small plate options for the price conscious. Or for those looking to try something new.
The atmosphere and food make this not just a restaurant, but an experience worth a visit/wait! Poulet Bleu is an intimate place for a special occasion that celebrates all things French. I look forward to returning with guests to impress.
