We had a meet up with other gamers before opening and I loved the place! They set out food, including sweet and a spicy boneless chicken and some cheeseburger sliders along with a salad. The food was great! There was no table service but the bartender and staff were very friendly. The place was clean and decorated very tastefully, we sat outside and enjoyed the amazing Los Angeles winter weather. 😁 I look forward to my next trip to LA to visit again.

Wow, what an incredible place I stumbled upon! I was genuinely blown away by the food quality here. I initially thought it was just a typical bar serving basic bites, but this place exceeded all my expectations! The vibe and atmosphere are simply fantastic. I ordered the chicken, and it was absolutely delicious—the quality and flavor were outstanding! I can't recommend this spot enough!

This bar is a perfect blend of modern style interior design and nostalgic tunes. They've nailed the trifecta: delicious, well-crafted drinks, unbelievably tender chicken, and a DJ spinning all the best 2010s hits when I was there. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. A must-visit!

A walk up bar in the center of dtla. The atmosphere is chill, staff is great, food and drinks are high quality (organic), service is great. Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of parking option's. The burger was beyond delicious and I loved my salad.

Labeled “LA’s first walk up bar”, which was confusing at first but I think just means there is patio seating & open walls leading to the bar. The bartender was able to put together a couple of really good mocktails which I appreciated.

Prank! La’s like first walk up bar or something like that. So fun, had a great brunch date here. Seating was quick, I think we were early because the crowd came a few minutes later but it was already looking pretty busy. You order at the bar, it’s hectic, so bring patience! The bartenders are quick with orders though, very professional. We grabbed the mimosa bucket to prep for our meal. I definitely recommend maybe four people to a bucket unless your thirsty, no judgment, we’re adults. I was thirsty apparently, we finished our champagne w ease and the food paired so well. I had the steak omelette and my partner had the French toast. I recommend getting the steak medium for the omelette, which I think was my only mistake. My mistake not theirs so I won’t let that impact this rating. I had a great time. The server even noticed a wobbly table and immediately had it fixed for another customer seated nearby. Highly recommend for a daytime date or even meeting, I saw a mix of professionally dressed and casual attendees throughout the space. Great atmosphere and though it is on the street, it’s not too loud for a great conversation.

Amazing bar in the heart of South Park. Solid food options and a seasonally changing menu. Great outdoor patio for SoCal weather and indoor spaces for private parties. Solid liquor line up from lesser known boutique spirits to the mainstays. Friendly bartenders that know your drink and walking distance to Crypto Area/ LA Live / Convention Center. Every neighborhood should have a place like Prank.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great "Golden Hour" in DTLA. We were meeting up with some friends before a show at the Belasco and decided to give this place a try. We made it in time for their happy hour, which they call Golden Hour (Mon-Fri 4-8pm, Sat & Sun 3-6pm as of this writing), which had a nice variety of food and drinks offered at a discount. It's still not cheap, but it's nice to get some kind of a break. You order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. The hubby and I ordered: - Grilled Shrimp tacos - Vegan Nachos - Veg sliders - Old fashioned - Smoked old fashioned Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The ambience felt a little more sophisticated than the average sports pub, but it was still lively. The staff were friendly and efficient--a nice experience overall. This would also be a great place for pregaming for Crypto, since most places in LA Live have stopped offering happy hours on event days (boo)--as long as you don't mind a little walk.

Prank Bar has a good location if you're heading to a concert at Crypto Arena. The patio is nice, and the vibe is casual. They promote having two walk-up stations at either end of the bar, but it didn't really work well. We waited at one while someone tried to order food by showing photos on their phone, which took a while. Moved to the other station thinking it was open, but the bartender was behind on orders and the other guests were just sitting at patio tables waiting. It felt disorganized. I ordered an Old Fashioned. It came with an orange slice but no cherry, and the flavor was off. Pretty sure it wasn't made correctly. Only had the one drink, and that was enough. The concept might be playful, but it felt like the prank was on the customer. Service wasn't rude, just scattered. Might be fine if you're grabbing a quick beer before a show, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

My friend and I were literally just shunned in this place. We have no idea why we were blatantly ignored We were finally acknowledged and at 15:15 pm rudely told they closed at 17:00and then the bar tender turned back away and continued to ignore our existence. Horrible experience

Awesome happy hour in DTLA near Crypto Arena! It's one of the rare happy hours that lasts late into the evening, making it easy for me to stop by after work. We visited on a Monday when happy hour was all day, and there was a deal on chicken tenders. Just order at the bar, grab a number, and find a table.

We stopped by Prank before our Kings games for some food and drinks. This place is pretty soild. The food was good and drinks were fantastic. We arrived right when it open, during golden hour ( HH). Their beers and shot combo was $12. You can pick any beer on tap and any standard shot. As for food we ordered the following: Boneless Chicken Tenders- This was great and not dry. Good size portion as well. Beef Sliders- This was also soild. Home Made Meatballs- Soild and tasty. Prince Edward Island Mussels- This was disappointing. Most of the mussels were pretty much nonexistent. Nachos- Good size portion Nachos. Service was fantastic and very friendly. Parking- Street and Self pay lots. Overall a great way to start out the night.

Was driving home the other day and wanted to get something to eat, and came by Prank so decided to check it out. Has that sport bar/restaurant/local hangout vibe. First, the music was great, from 90s to more current hip hop, can't go wrong with that. Plus games on the TVs, and everyone was so friendly, just a warm and welcome spot Started with a cocktail and had the Passion Flower. Very flavorful. Would definitely get it again. For food, we tried multiple items. The meatballs were moist on the inside and had good flavor to them. The mussels are in a white wine garlic marinara sauce but didn't necessarily stand out in any one way. The filet mignon tacos were good on a blue corn tortilla with pico de gallo and avocado. We split the short rib entree which can't with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed kale. The kale needed to be seasoned a little better but the short rib was nice and tender. Flavor wise, it was ok, didn't necessarily stand out either. Overall, cool place, good vibes, friendly staff and the people there were also friendly and talkative. Food we tried was ok overall, wouldt definitely go back to watch a game, have a drink and maybe try something the from the menu

Bar setting, got a spicy margarita and appetizers. They were pretty tasty, I didn't pay so I don't recall the pricing, but I'm assuming it was decent. Good music; Hip Hop. It's a decent sized place they had indoor and outdoor seating. Went on a Friday, it wasn't busy so that was good. Definitely recommend.

Came here for a conference social. I was able to grab a table outside. I only tried the drinks, which were pretty good! The ginger giant was my favorite. Perfectly balanced sweetness, ginger kick, and egg whites.

The service was super friendly but the food itself was not great and neither were the drinks. I got the chicken wrap and the smell was a bit off putting and the taste wasn't good. I spent $15 on a cocktail and didn't feel a buzz from it. I wouldn't go again, but maybe it was just an off night from them. I did love the convenience of being close to Crypto Arena and the fact there was no wait.

easy neighborhood bar, order your food and drinks and they bring it to you- felt like everyone knew each other, such an easy going spot that is super dog friendly!

I love the chicken wings, spicy cauliflower and the French Toast my waitress was amazing and the service here was great..will definitely be returning

We walked to Prank after enjoying the day at LA Comicon and our whole group really enjoyed it! There was a DJ and a football game playing which was kind of overstimulating but the food and drinks were fantastic after a long day of nerdy fun. We sat downstairs next to the bar and it was super easy to order at the bar counter. Our food came out pretty quick for a busy Saturday night and everything tasted great!

Missed happy hour unfortunately but that gives me a reason to come back! Tried the organic margarita and my partner got the spicy naked marg and they were good! Absolutely loved the spicy cauliflower even though it was pretty sweet. Mango ceviche was pretty good but it could have had more fish. Overall good service and dinner before our show at Peacock theatre!

The bartender April made me feel so welcome and at home. I was going through some personal turmoil and she really put me at ease. She made me a great cocktail off menu based off my likes and dislikes. I will be coming back just because of her.

The bartender was accommodating and super nice! Atmosphere is chill but hopping!! The spicy cauliflower is a must!!

Prank is one of my favorite spots; my wife and I come here often. Miguel and Rolando always make us and other regulars feel welcome. The happy hour is a good deal, and all the drinks we have tried are great. All the food looks solid, but if you're there for Sunday brunch, the Sweet Chick Breakfast Burrito is a must order. Overall, Prank is always a good place to hangout, so I recommend visiting this place whenever you're in South Park.

I've now been here two times and can say this place is good but not great. This second time I went for food with my family, and while we absolutely loved their spicy cauliflower which was to die for as well as their tacos and fries, The Caesar chicken wrap was horrible and I ended up not eating it which was a bummer as it was expensive and my dinner. The Caesar dressing tasted of heavy anchovies/fish and nothing else, and made the wrap reek of fish. Everyone tried it and spit it out unfortunately. On the bright side the drinks are great. We got an espresso martini, a beer, a watermelon cocktail and another cocktail I can't remember and loved all of them. I wish they had waiters as it's often difficult to order at the bar and there's very limited seating which is hard to keep when you have to get up to order. Service is slow which is why we didn't love it as much and prices are a bit higher, but what we liked, we really liked. I'd definitely come back and try other drinks and food but was really disappointed in how bad the Caesar wrap was as I had been wanting to try one for a long time, and this was not what I expected.

The spicy Cauliflower is a MUST! Not much service since it is a service less type of place but when ordering the employees are nice. The bar is in a great place with plenty of tvs to watch games. Plenty of seating. Tables are clean. There isn't anything bad I have to say

Easy stop on your way to Crypto. Usually can find seats and you order at the bar. They have outdoor heaters for the cool, and it's only a block away from sporting events. The food is alright, but quick to serve. We ordered sliders and nachos. The sliders were food but the nachos left us wanting some more beans with them and lacked flavor. They have a decent happy hour so we still return, but it's not the holy grail of culinary delight.

I've been here a few times with my friend who lives near close by. The bartenders are friendly and prepared the drinks quickly. The food is pretty good. I've had brunch and appetizers. A chill local hang out.

This spot is always pippin' when I drive by on my way home from work, so it's hard to not walk over every night when I know the drinks are spot on and the food is just as good. Bartenders here are friendly. The bar gets busy but service is quick. Happy Hour has some good selections, and overall there is a cool vibe.

Came here for a drink in DTLA. First time going to a walk up bar. I enjoyed my old fashioned. My friend got the sea bass and and said it was pretty good. Presentation was amazing. Vibes are definitely on point here and service was decent. I would come back and explore more of the menu.

The service was very good, bartenders were nice. There were a lot of flies which made it difficult to enjoy our food. The food was not worth the price. We order mac & cheese as our appetizer, chicken cesar salad, and burgers & fries. Everything was quite bland. the burger was burnt and the mac and cheese was undercooked. The only thing that okay was good was their drinks. We ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. Probably won't be back.

A go-to spot! We love the vibes, walkup bar, mock-tails, and the vegan options (nachos, tacos, wings) are all amazing! I went here for my birthday and we often come by just for a quick drink and snack. 10/10 local spot!

First time here! Nice area and very chic decor. Came at night. Had a few vegan options and was able to pick what wanted to exclude. Food (spicy cauliflower, and veggie tacos) were flavorful and super good! My partner got the ceviche which was enjoyed! The security was informative and helpful. We got ID'd lol You do order at the bar pick a seat close ur tab and the bring to your table. Take ur drink as u wait for ur food. The wait wasn't long at alllll. That's a huge plus. Place looks clean and food was super good. Thanks to Riley the bartender too for making us a couple mocktails.

Prank had really good cocktail options! I loved the Ginger Snowcap, whisky, ginger, lemon, pineapple, and egg white, was refreshing and not too sweet.

I always enjoy a great happy hour. This is a great spot with a variety of choices. One of my favorites is their Beef Sliders medley of premium beef, house mayo, ketchup, onions, american cheese, romaine lettuce, brioche bun and served with frites. The flavors are delicious and enjoyable. The Taco Duo is just as good with filet mignon steak (gf) - pico de gallo, avocado, cilantro, chimichurri or tempura shrimp - chipotle cream, mustard slaw, avocado, and grilled pineapple salsa vegan (v/gf) - avocado mash, zucchini, heirloom cherry tomatoes, with shaved red onion. Many other choices but these would be first choices. The staff is friendly and always helpful. Parking is in one of the public lots on Hope or if you can find a meter that works as well.

Great bar located walking distance to Crypto.con arena. This has become the pregame tradition spot for any sporting eventheld at crypto.com. Depending on what night you go, it could be packed, or there could be plenty of seeding outdoor. The beer prices are reasonable. And the food is not bad, but we usually stick to the appetizers or bar food. Nachos, burgers, fries. The service here is great. Everyone's very nice. They can turn around a check really quick if you need to jet so you don't miss the tip off. I'd say the one drawback is that on any given night they likely have two employees working and they are both behind the bar. You have to Purchase drinks and food from the bar and sit yourself outside. If it's a pack night, it might take a while to get a bartenders attention, but because of the open outdoor area, you can see inside determine how long the wait might be as you're walking by and choose a different spot around! We will continue to come here before sporting events.

Not sure how but we always end up in Prank. Came here around 12 on a Saturday afternoon and were able to find seats for 6. They have a cool drink special where you get a shot and beer called the Truffle Shuffle for $12. You can find street parking if you're lucky but there's a parking structure across the street for $10. The vibes are chill and you can sit outdoors. It was self seating and you order at the bar. The bartender was super friendly. Only giving this spot 3 stars cause the food was too bland for my liking. Would totally regular this place for brunch if they upped their food game.

Cute spot for drinks! Not crowded in winter with all the open air seating, which I absolutely adore. Their cocktails are pretty good. But I'm not a fan of how you have to get up to order, then wait for your drink before returning to your seat... Food is just ok. I would stick to drinks and simple snacks only. Will be back for happy hour next time!

Came here for their happy hour after work on a Tuesday. The space is great! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the mango halibut ceviche. It tasted great! It was fresh with lots of rich flavors. My friend ordered the veggie sliders with fries and they were delicious as well. Overall a nice space, great food, chill atmosphere, and great customer service. I'll definitely be back soon!

Everytime I come here I always have a great time. The food is great and they have lots of vegan options. Very friendly people, love the ambiance. I like how they have indoor and outside seating. They have a great happy hour as well. The vegan burrito I got last time was bombbb I thought they gave me a non vegan one lol but it's vegan. They have lots of vegan options on their menu labeled vegan.

This place is great - a hidden gem for the area. Love their reasonably priced food and drinks, plus a fantastic happy hour aka golden hour. Their chicken tenders are the best. Friendly staff and door guy. I forgot my credit card there and the management was very helpful in retrieving it for me over a week later! See you again soon Prank!

My friend and I met at Prank before the Lakers game last night and it was the perfect place to do a quick pit stop. Their location is off of the chaotic streets within eyeshot of the arena but in a quiet nook so you can avoid the chaos before an event. Note that there is no table service so make sure to tag team it with your friend(s) to order at the bar and keep your seats safe. The staff was super friendly and attentive when needed. My friend is vegan so we order all plant based bites. The fries were great, the popular spicy cauliflower had great flavor but they could have gone lighter on the sauce so the dish stayed crispier...towards the end the cauliflower was quite soggy and one note. I'm not a big fan of cashew cheese so the nachos weren't my fave but the toppings were generous and overall filling dish I'm gonna mark this place moving forward for quick bites before attending an event at Cryptom

I haven't been to Prank in almost 5yrs and was excited to be back! I came for happy hour right before a laker game on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. Security checks your ID prior to entering. They have "golden hour" which starts at 4pm and their prices are great for happy hour. $10 for a cocktail! You order at the bar and you can choose to sit inside or outside, unfortunately the upstairs area was closed. My order: -vodka mule: i love the cup it comes in and love how you can really taste the ginger -mojito: my favorite :) -margarita: super yummy, and I asked for tajin on the rim -sliders w/ fries: the sliders were small but flavorful and juicy, the fries were delicious Overall, friendly staff and a perfect place for happy hour after work or before a laker game. Can't beat the $10 cocktail prices :)

This is tricky review because the venue is nice. Esthetically pleasing, everyone that worked there was friendly but unfortunately the food is very underwhelming. Had the calamari, not great, the sauces were bland. The broccoli was fine but wouldn't order it again. The highlight was the chicken strips I guess. I'd give it another shot just because the staff is likeable and it's fairly priced. Not sure if they always have a dj but they did tonight (wed) and it is loud in there. If that's not your thing, consider yourself warned.

My mojito was one of the better ones that I have had in LA but unfortunately none have tasted quite as good as those in Puerto Rico. However, the veggie sliders with fries and the Cadillac margarita were fire . I loved that there was a lot of open-air seating. Ordering at the bar was convenient because you don't have to wait for a server to find you and it was a super chill vibe for a first date or hanging with friends. :-) I will definitely be back.

Came here after searching for a happy hour that didn't end so early--arrived just after 7p on a Thursday. Prank is within walking distance to where I was staying so did not have to deal with parking fortunately. It would be the usual downtown options of parking meters and paid lots otherwise. ID was checked upon entry & outdoor seating was heated as it is late January. It is a cashless and prepaid venue--ordered our drinks and food items at the bar. Option to keep the tab open is available. I'm pescatarian/vegetarian so I opted for the taco duo and chose the shrimp and vegan tacos, and asked about the size. I was told they are small so I added the buffalo cauliflower and was not disappointed! The kamikaze was also yummy! Unfortunately when I went back for a second round it wasn't nearly as good (downgraded to a short stubby glass and no sugar on the rim, and the overall taste just wasn't the same) so making contact with the "right" bartender is critical. My friend ordered the vodka blood orange ginger mule and loved it both times, along with the boneless chicken tenders. Overall a fun location as there was a bicycle tour and separately a rollerblade tour in addition to it not being overly crowded but popular enough for the sake of ambiance and good vibes. A Lakers game must've ended as there was an influx of people passing by and some stopped in to have a drink. It was a 10/10 for our happy hour needs--HH ends at 8p which is was drew us to Prank initially.

I almost gave this place a one-star for how irritated I was when we first arrived. We were a party of four, and we told the guy at the front, and he said "oh, we have a wait" I said well, how long is the wait? His reply was "Ionno, whenever someone leaves." I was ready to turn around and go someplace else and quickly rate them a 1 star. BUT the dude was being sarcastic (I hate sarcasm), and we were sat within 5 mins. When we were seated, we scanned the QR code to view the menu and had to order our food and drinks at the bar. Hubby and I decided to get the el pastor nachos, blue tortilla steak tacos, a mojito, and a Passion flower. The drinks were ready within seconds, and our food arrived within 15 mins. The tacos were delicious! I'm sad we only ordered one for each. The nachos were pretty tasty as well. I really enjoyed my Passion flower drink, but they messed up on hubby's drink, but he said it was still good. Overall, Prank is a chill walk-up bar that offers tasty bar food and tasty drinks. If I'm back in DTLA, I'll for sure come back for more tacos!

I ain't pranking y'all that this place is . The food is BOMB. The service is even better! Very polite, efficient and welcoming. The vibes are also just immaculate. What else could you ask for?

Great brunch spot. It's a walk-up bar but the service was amazing as far bartenders and food runners. Ambiance was aesthetic. It's the perfect bar to catch a on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon/evening in the heart of DTLA

For lunch I had a coke and the chicken sandwich, side of fries. It was satisfying and also not too heavy which I enjoyed. The ambiance is relaxing + free WiFi so I was able to get some work done. Not too busy on a Sunday afternoon.

It felt so good to be back at Prank! The vibe here is just really cool and I love their outdoor patio. Masks are required and you'll order at the bar and food will be delivered to your table. They make it easy to do separate checks. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was good, nothing special. I think my ciabatta was a little dry and overwhelmed the chicken. The fries were very good. My friend enjoyed her carbonara. The food is very fresh and the menu is diverse. They have vegan and vegetarian options too. The food is 4 stars and the ambiance is 5 stars. Deliciously strong drinks. I enjoyed my mojito. Great ambience. Indoor and outdoor seating. Closed on Mondays.

This place is great! Miguel is such a cool bartender and makes you feel welcome. I've only had cocktails at this establishment as we just moved into the neighborhood. I look forward to venturing towards some of the food I've seen others ordering. The atmosphere is cool and hip. Plenty of space to sit outdoor on their patio and enjoy the beautiful day.

10/10 for Events/Private Parties! I have had my birthday here the past three years and every year it has been nothing short of amazing! Dave and Rodney ensure that all the details are taken care of and work with me to create a package that fits what I am looking for. Not to mention that the food and drinks have always been a hit - don't miss the buffalo cauliflower and their paloma.

It's our favorite place in DTLA. Great food, great staff, GREAT prices and super dog friendly!
