"Precinct is one of Downtown’s staple queer bars. The music is good, which keeps the dance floor constantly busy. Stationed on the second floor with wide windows overlooking Broadway, Precinct has a distinct and joyful presence in Downtown that might be experiencing performers or DJs. Passersby will often look up and wonder, “What is going on up there?” For a club, the drink selections are quite impressive, with beer, wine, and cocktails on offer. "Open since 2015, Precinct’s arrival in downtown signaled a few things. For one, it once again solidified DTLA as a legitimate gay nightlife destination. Secondly, it allowed us to put events like “Springtime Beef Ball” and “Bear Bust” into our Google calendars. Mostly though, it gave LA its best new gay bar in years. Precinct is one of those places that’s so big, with so many different crowds, you can have whatever kind of night you came looking for. Want to catch a drag show? Post-up all night on the patio? "This Wednesday, January 12th marks the return of Alejandro, the all-night dance party at Precinct in Downtown. The event is a collaboration with Cochinas and features queer and trans performers, plus music from the early 2000s. It’s a $10 entrance fee and doors open at 9pm, but be sure to bring some extra cash to tip the performers." - brant cox
