Vibrant New Food Hall Prescott Market Opens in West Oakland | Eater SF

"The last few pieces of the new food hall are falling into place just in time for the market’s opening on Saturday, April 5: one of the final availabilities inside is being filled by a restaurant from chef Marisa Gittens that, according to a press release, “takes inspiration from and shares black-culture parallels with the French-style bistro.” That addition is the concept’s second location—branching off from an original Lower Dimond spot that opened in September 2023—and will serve items like banana bread French toast, grains in purgatory (a play on eggs in purgatory), and andouille shrimp and grits. The brewery Almanac holds down the market as the main anchor tenant, and other businesses joining include Prescott Meats and Delicatessen, Pizzeria Violetta, pop-up Woo Can Cook, Highwire Coffee, and Fast Times Burgers." - Dianne de Guzman

Went the Farmers Market and stopped this iris farm Bloomer-Rang Iris Farm. It had beautiful iris that were pictures of them and the bloom that would happen. Lisa the owner was very nice and kindly explained how to plant and care for the Irises. Can't wait to go back and get more.

Great farmers market. Lots of local produce and meats. Many other homemade products to choose from and plenty of food vendors if you're hungry. But get there early as they sell out quick!

First visit here was overwhelming, and I want to thank the folks who run this and the vendors for participating in the SNAP program. I came with my new SNAP benefits card, not sure what to expect. The gal at the SNAP booth was friendly and helpful. For every $1 you spend at the market on SNAP-eligible items, the Market will match that $1 towards fresh produce. Most of the vendors are kind and seem to enjoy participating in this program; others will glare at you and your tokens. Fruits and veggies galore, ethically raised meats, baked goods and sweet treats... all local and all amazing. My favorite part was definitely the variety of plants for our home garden!

Went near closing but loved the diversity of vendors. Everyone was very friendly. Burrito was cooked while I was there and was delicious. Credit cards accepted. Several fresh meat vendors, which I have rarely seen

The Prescott Farmer’s Market is a great spot to walk around and shop on a Saturday morning. Good coffee, fruits and veggies, local fare, and sundries.

Above and Beyond! Vicki is so talented and kind, taking great care and spending time with me, helping to decide exactly how to showcase this very detailed, antique needlework (tablecloth?) my maternal grandmother made. It was in pristine condition, deserving to be seen instead of hidden away in a bin. We chose a copper/bronze frame, and black matting to both showcase the details and to make it 'timeless', as this one-of-a-kind family heirloom will go to my daughter one day. The piece is 4' square, photos don't do it justice! Many thanks to everyone at Framers Market, I am thrilled and will definitely be back.

Enjoyed my first visit to the Prescott Farmer’s Market. Some farmers markets have mostly prepared foods and not enough fresh produce. That was not the case here. I found plenty of produce along with baked goods (including vegan and gluten free) goat milk soap, dates, tamales, samosas, kombucha, grass fed beef, succulents and more. My falafel from Claudine’s Kitchen was fresh and tasty, the pickled turnips added a nice crunch. My daughter enjoyed her red pork tamales and my husband was a fan of the chorizo and egg burrito. I recommend a visit here to pick up some fresh veggies, eat lunch and experience the local culture. For kids there was a stall with a play kitchen and food. It was home base for crew of kids running around the market.

Yelp
A great, smaller market with fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee options, trinkets, and other vendors. I got coffee from Camp Grounds, soap, some unique vegetables, and an apple cider detox from the Oak Creek apple co. (Amazing!) The market is worth a visit if you're local or visiting :-)

Yelp
I am the first to support local farmers whenever possible. I have enjoyed attending the Prescott market for many years. However, the folks who are operating this venue have clearly become excessively rigid, punitive & heavy-handed, in violating religious freedom, & also personal rights. Our 15 pound, severely epileptic dog, comes with us, into the market, tethered in a dog stroller. He must be watched at all times, and is never out of our sight. However, he was booted out of the market recently. We spoke with the management, & their strict, no-dogs-allowed policy would not allow him there. No exceptions, even though WE are HIS caregivers. I have attended farmer's markets in many locations, including California, I have never attended a farmers market that did not allow dogs! On a second note, when I recently went looking for more of my favorite goat milk based body lotions (who have been at the market for five years), they were no longer there. When I went on a search for this elderly couple, who are supplementing their social security with sales from their products primarily at this venue, in addition to various ministries they've been supporting through these funds (such as the flooding disasters in North Carolina, the fire victims in california, etc)...i discovered that in early December of 2024, they had been alerted by the board of Prescott Farmers Market, that there would no longer be any religious verbiage, icons, artifacts, etc allowed at the market. This meant that the Bible scriptures that this couple had been including on their packaging for many years, would have to be removed for THIS venue. Really? Well, it goes on from there, but I would just say that, by my observation, something is very much amiss with the management at thE Prescott Farmers Market. We will not be returning.

Yelp
I always love an outdoor farmers market. There's a lot of fresh produce, grass fed beef, seafood, chicken, and sausage. There's a lot to discover while walking around from tamales to coffee, bakery goods, and everything else in between. The vendors are very friendly and helpful and it's a pleasure to visit the farmers market weekly.

Yelp
I really like this Farmers Market. Lots of great things to buy from Lion's Mane mushrooms to kombucha to tamales to organic sourdough bread. The sourdough we bought was on par with Sourdough I have had in San Francisco. Very friendly people (both vendors and customers). They also had quality live music. Just a happy place and better than most farmer's markets I have been to. Will become a regular thing for us. Very pleasant place.

Yelp
Cute little farmers market! Lots of family owned companies and ready made food options. It's January so of course it's a little cold but the fresh air was great. Very friendly people all around. Come check this place out!

Yelp
We were thrilled with the large selection of venders. I purchased Catsclaw. honey from SunnyValleyBees, over a dozen samosas (mung bean, potato, chicken & apple/peach) by Pricilla from Safari Samosas. The vanilla bean cold brew from Camp Grounds was the best to date. Sampled a few items and found new products. I almost forgot my purchase from Christ-El where I got Danish pancakes to go and they were good. Sadly I left without purchasing a belt with a rainbow crocheted into the sides and the prices she had were reasonable. There was shade to sit, sip & savor our sales. We heard pleasant music. If in town again will def return.

Yelp
The Prescott farmers market has a good selection of produce from almost a dozen vendors who are mostly from Paulden. There are also a couple flower vendors (check out Whipstone Farms in the SW corner), at least three bread vendors, plus several cookie and sweets stands. Check out the French pastries which are gluten-free, the huge cookies or the Scandinavian goodies both on the west side. You will also find honey, eggs, grass fed meet, and many ready to eat food options from Samosas to burritos, tacos and tamales, plus coffee and Agua fresca. A few stands also sell crafts such as jewelry, but I like the fact that this is mostly a food related market versus some of the farmers markets in other cities which are mostly crafts. There is plenty of parking, especially if you go early.

Yelp
Cute collection of offerings: breads, veggies, raw meat, compost, bagels, pretzels, cookies, jewelry, etc. It would be great if someone sold dog treats! Prices are fair, people are very friendly!

Yelp
This was actually a really nice farmers market and bigger then I had expected for a smaller city. They had several produce booth and some of them were even roasting their own chilis which was awesome! We waited in line at the bagel booth which was definitely the busiest booth at the market. The bagels were great but their toaster broke so they weren't able to toast them which was a huge bummer. Overall definitely a cool farmers market to check out on a Saturday morning!

Yelp
Great vendors. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The people at the information booth were kind and helped answer any questions that we had. I was super happy with every purchase I made, and I am eager to return back!

Yelp
Not much of a farmers market. This coming from a farmer. More of a craft fair type of gathering.

Yelp
I love this little farmer's market! I appreciate that their vendors must have locally (or Arizona) grown or sourced products. There are a variety of vendors with different offerings and everyone is always so nice. I like to buy from the smaller vendors too since the larger ones attract more business (with longer lines). The quality is always excellent regardless. The fresh bagels are bomb, the Mexican food vendors have out of this world food and we are incredibly happy to be able to buy hormone and everything else free, frozen chicken here as well. They also have this awesome program where you can take a bucket, collect your compostable kitchen scraps and return it so they can then turn it into compost. Every now and then they have free bags of compost available , they just ask for donations. This makes my little gardener/environmentalist heart very happy.

Yelp
A bright sunny Saturday in Prescott. It was windy but a beautiful day. I loved that I could easily park. I could easily walk into the market. I could easily find the i formation desk where they sold coins and you could use a credit card to pay for them. Then use the coins to pay vendors. I must say I loved this market. I found a lovely vendor for goats milk products. Soaps and lotion. I found a lovely pair of earrings. A lovely cup of black iced tea. A delicious street taco and two of the best tamales that I've ever eaten. Oh. And to top it off I found the most delicious blackberry basil ice cream. OMG. Yes. I ate my way around the market and took some back to Sedona with me. A raspberry muffin. Some cheese crackers and some very delicious buttery cookies. Overall I loved this market. People were friendly. Variety of food and products. No dogs allowed at the market. Which was nice. I highly recommend this market if you're in the area.

Yelp
What a lovely farmers market. So nice to see the community of Prescott all come together. Good selection of produce, plus vendors selling food so you can have a snack while walking around. There is also the most amazing little trailer selling some of the best coffee and teas etc. I've ever had. You got to check out Camp Grounds. So worth it! A couple of vendors sell some really high quality meat, things you can't just get anywhere like hangar steak, duck, quail and so much more. In addition there are also vendors selling their really cool crafts of all kinds. Parking is easy so do yourself a favor and go see what the farmers market has to offer you.

Yelp
Have driven up from Phoenix several times and stopped at this market. Great fruit and vegetable selection. There are also stalls selling meat, eggs, baked products, and prepared food. I didn't have a chance to try the bagel stand, but they looked and smelled excellent.

James L.

Yelp
I remember when farmers markets were opened in the 70s to combat extreme supermarket prices. Seems the pendulum has swung the other way. Nice selections but like most in Prescott heaven on earth so they say----way overpriced

Yelp
I am so grateful for the venders. I am able to feed my family including meats. Our community is so blessed! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yelp
Great little farmers market. Excited to see it get bigger as it warms up. Fresh eggs, fresh veggies that are in this season. Coffee, kombucha, samosas, soaps, pretty much all you'd expect. If you are local or visiting definitely stop by.

Yelp
The place had very convenient parking. There were only a few vegetable booths and no cheese for sale. That said, it is az so one shouldn't really expect such a thing. I got a banquette, some onions, purple okra, an amazing selection of all different types of peppers both small and large, and best of all canolis.

Yelp
This is not a review for the Farmer's Market as a whole, but for a specific booth. LUPE'S TAMALES. This family run business also has a farm stand at the market they sell fresh produce at, but the best part is hands down their tamales. The BEST tamales I've had in my entire life. The corn masa is incredibly flavorful, they start with fresh corn flower and instead of adding water they use the broth that the meat has cooked in, which gives the masa a rich saltiness. It's a moist masa so it's not dry or flaky. Don't stop there though! You've got to try their horchata which is not watery- as I find most horchatas are, If was flavorful with real rice milk. After making a few more rounds to the different booths and nothing calling out to us like those tamales did we went back for more, and a mojito. The mojito was incredibly flavorful, fresh mint, cucumber and tajin spice on the rim of the cup. 10/10 would recommend, get yourself to Lupe's booth! Happy eating. :)

Yelp
This Farmer's Market has a very good variety of local and organically grown produce. Even blooms from a nearby nursery and native wild flower seeds. I tried a rich El Salvadoran coffee, which come with a great background story... check out Caffe' de Dona Ella on the nrnet , Manuel owns and grows the coffee and sells from the hatchback on his compact vehicle. Luck B Acres does great organics, as well as Shady Acres Farm in Paulden, Az. But the cheese....ahh the cheese, Rainbow Valley Nursery peddles handmade dairy throughtout the year throughout Arizona on a quarterly schedule and worth tracking down for the cheese...and butter...and Gnocchi. I passed up the "trailer breakfast" concession and found MacNab's Scottish Fayre, wow, a good menu done with flair and a quilt. Have to mention the organic Chino Valley Beef, which is hard to find locally. The market is canine friendly, same for cats I suppose (we didn't see any). Opened seasonably Saturday 7:30 am-12noon.

Yelp
For a small town Farmers market this is a pretty good one. As summer wares on they get more and more stuff due to vegetables and fruit getting ripe and mature. Check out the guy with the jellies I have tried a few of them and they are great. Try the Serrano Pepper Jelly with a pork roast in a crock pot it is incredible. The habanero on Halibut is incredible also. Yesterday there was a group of kids playing fiddle, Guitar, mandolin, etc. and they were incredible. Plus it beats a Saturday in The Valley of Hell.

Janet W.

Yelp
Very nicely run Farmer's Market with a variety of produce, prepared food and locally made items. It is kind of hidden in the parking lot of Yavapai College, but it has lots of parking, which is a big plus. They have some tables and chairs for enjoying the food and also the weekly music.

Lynn G.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. The best tasting tomatoes in Arizona. Delacata squash is delicious (you can eat the peel it's so tender). I got a delicious belly bomber burro. I like buying fresh organic and PFM has it. Pastries galore. Now about the eggs. Nest Run has these delicious golden rich (not pale yellow) yokes. If you want them get there early. I can't wait until next Saturday.
