Where To Get Brunch If You Hate Brunch

"Popping into Preserve And Gather with a good book and zero friends is like a sigh of relief in brunch form. It’s an attractive coffee shop in a residential pocket of Greenwood with comfortable seating, no wifi, and nary a Bloody Mary in sight. Plus, they know their way around a cortado and have toasts with toppings ranging from pickled egg salad to ricotta with honey. We also like the ham and jam biscuit." - aimee rizzo

Seattle Coffee Shops With Great Food - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Speaking of places that don’t have WiFi, Preserve & Gather is another spot where you might need to get creative about how to spend your time—you could hold an interview here, finally finish your paisley-themed adult coloring book, or catch up with that friend of yours who quit social media yesterday and won’t shut up about it. The whole (attractive) space looks like the common lounge of a newly built high-rise, and the high-quality food ranges from homemade yogurt to toast with homemade jam to meat and cheese plates." - Aimee Rizzo

This coffee shop has a lot of options to choose from, which is great! I tried the cold brew, but it was a bit too strong for my taste, that’s just a personal preference. If you like bold coffee, you’ll probably love it! The servers were really nice, and the place wasn’t crowded, which made for a relaxing visit.

Google
Overall, I’d recommend Preserve and Gather! It’s a great spot for meeting up with a friend, sitting down to read or study, or just enjoy a nice pastry before carrying on with the rest of your day. The beverages were mid. I ordered the drip coffee, which was too rich for my preference. My wife had the Matcha latte which had a really mild Matcha flavor. Their pastries were pretty good with a tahini something (had the black sesame seeds) that was so unique and well balanced. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good as well, though I wish I got it with bacon instead of ham (my fault). It comes with a dill mayo sauce. One final note: even though the café was nowhere near busy when we had arrived, the cashier seemed to be impatient with us.

I came here in 2016 or 2017 to meet my friend Leigh to reconnect and she originally recommended this spot. I remember a pleasant environment so I was happy to come back again on the morning of July 11, 2025. I got myself a latte and it was delicious. The bathroom was clean and we scored a parking spot next to the shop. Our cashier didn't seem to be having the best day and their attitude was indifferent towards us, but all other staff I encountered were pleasant and friendly.

Google
Food -Overpriced and lacking flavor and presentation. Service- I waited 25 minutes for a salmon bagel sandwich and it wasn't even busy. I understand these things happen, but it shouldn't when there's plenty of staff and not many customers. Atmosphere. I found it to be fairly disorganized and flies were buzzing around constantly attacking my food. I would say this is a cozy place to read a book while snacking more of a non sterile whimsy nilly. Never coming back.

Google
Thank you for building taxes and tips into your reasonable pricing. This comfortable atmosphere made it easy for me to slip right into work and the noise level was very balanced so I was able to focus no problem. The flavor of the cardamom vegan cake was excellent and so was my chai latte (no extra charge for alt milk on that one). Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. Many different seating arrangements and tables available. This conveniently located coffee shop was a great experience.

Google
An exceptional 4 shot latte. Counter service was efficient and friendly. The baked goods here are unique and well executed. You can see the bakers at work directly behind the register. Nice to see the ingredients and craftsmanship. Only downside is finding parking but that is not anything they can control. 20 percent gratuity is included in pricing and clearly identified on menu.

Google
Price quality mismatch. Breakfast sandwich had deli meat and cold sheetpan egg. Drip coffee was expensive and has a very odd taste. Orange loaf was dried out . It's a lovely spot and nice staff, but I did not finish any of my food. If the price was more reasonable I would give it another try, but I don't feel the need to return.

Google
This was my first time in. It is nearly impossible to find decent quick vegan options in Seattle, let alone vegan scones. Preserve and Gather has multiple options. I had the Vegan chocolate oat scone, and i t was the BEST scone I've ever had. The texture was perfect, the flavor was great, and it was fresh and still a bit warm. Honestly, I almost cried. So good! I will definitely be going out of my way to come here again. Higihly recommend for vegans and omnivores alike!

Yelp
I have so many good things to say about Preserve and Gather!!!! First, the space is nice and open - I have been able to meet coworkers here, bring family to hang out, and haven't had an issue finding a spot to sit. The food and coffee are just amazing. I have tried quite a few different pastries and plates, each being amazing. My favorites have been the Ham & Jam biscuit (which is super unique!!) and the peanut butter and chocolate oat bar. I take anyone and everyone I know here to try their goodies whenever they are in town!
google avatar

Preetha A.

Yelp
Excellent strong, well made coffee . It's reasonably priced and a bright open space with lots of seating. They use fulcrum coffee and have a lot of freshly baked pastries which loom like they are made in house. Will come back for coffee and to try some of their cakes , scones and pastries. Be aware the interior is a little sparse, plants need some care . It's great to meet someone to catch up but doesn't look like a good place to work/ study. Can get loud as well.

Yelp
Stopped in on a hot day recently. Ordered a small drip on ice and a small cold brew. Both tasted like they were severely burnt during roasting and then left sitting for hours. Not even a heavy dose of cream could cut the bitterness or the odor. They seemed swamped so we didn't bother asking for a remake or refund.
google avatar

Rhema S.

Yelp
Would recommend, coffee is good and they got a nice place to go study or have a pastry and a caffeine drink with someone

Yelp
Great snacks, but coffee wasn't great. I came by here to meet a friend, and I absolutely love how there's ample street parking! The inside was very cute, with proper tables as well as little stools, and it looked like the perfect place for remote work or a good book. The staff was super friendly and helped suggest some snacks based on what I was feeling that day. I decided to get the mocha and the strawberry shortbread jam bar. I'll start with the bar - absolutely incredible. It was just the right amount of sweet, and a little sticky without sticking to my teeth. Each bite was also pretty filling, and it ended up being the perfect midday option! The mocha, unfortunately, was really bitter and not chocolatey at all. Even after adding a couple of sweetener packets, it was just not great and I ended up throwing half of it away. Overall, I'd definitely swing by for their baked goods again, but I think I'll get my coffee elsewhere.

Yelp
We love this place. Every time my family comes to Seattle to visit us they insist on making a stop here. Best bakery in the world!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning with a friend who raves about their sweet cream scones. I tried the ham and jam biscuit and enjoyed the combination of flavors, even though I typically find biscuits a little dry. The space was busy but ordering was efficient, and prices feel a little high but the pastries seem quality.
google avatar

Viola B.

Yelp
I love the authenticity of this cafe. Biscuits are always flakey and flavorsome. Coffee is the best around. Mocha with a marshmallow on top is my personal fav. The crew behind the bar is super cool, always slinging out the best drinks and food!
google avatar

Caroline W.

Yelp
Absolutely love this spot! The food is always unique and a perfect bite to start the day. The staff clearly enjoy what they do as they are always kind and happy to chat through their favorites or make suggestions. On weekends it'll be busy but the open space and large windows make it feel open and spacious while the sounds of the kitchen and customers reading at tables make it feel cozy.

Yelp
Can't thank Marie B enough for offering to let me check out Preserve and Gather! For the ride to Coffeeholic and my appointment after thank you my friend!! Especially when she stayed in the car while I ordered from their window. Looking forward to when they allow dining inside again. What a wonderful space. The variety of baked goods made it difficult for me to decide what to try. The salad and other entrees sounded delicious. Picked up a couple of the ginger oear scones, a delicata squash hand pie and fig bar along with a jar of their chai pear butter. Wasn't on their jam /butter list but was an option to but on one of their sweet cream biscuits so I asked if I could buy a jar. And they said yes ! Definitely will be back once I figure the bus route for sure!

Marisa M.

Yelp
Great service, horrible coffee. I got a cappuccino yesterday (4/6/2024) and the coffee was super burnt and bitter, completely undrinkable? It was bizarre and tasted like poison. My mom's matcha latte was awesome but it was frustrating as I wasted money and had to get coffee elsewhere. Looks like they need to work on their consistency.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Such a cute neighborhood coffee shop with friendly staff and very quick service! light and airy ambience with good coffee. All of their baked goods looked delicious as well - they're apparently known for their ham and jam biscuits but we got that and the meat pies and personally liked the meat pie better!
google avatar

Keri N.

Yelp
What a charming coffee shop in the Greenwood neighborhood! I got a latte and the sweet cream scone- which comes with your choice of jam. I got the chai pear butter. Scone and chai pear butter were so delicious! The coffee was good/standard. Service was friendly and swift. The prices felt a little more expensive compared to other coffee shops it seemed. Overall a great place to gather and enjoy a coffee/pastry!

Yelp
Drink: (5/5) Their iced vanilla lattes are absolutely delicious. There is a good balance between creaminess and sweetness. This is now a place I will probably go to more often. Service (5/5): The barista was very nice and they gave us the cutest stickers on our latte cups. This is the first time I've been here but I hope that they put stickers on everyone's cup. Parking (4/5): There is only street parking in the residential area. - Please vote below, comment, and like the photos to give me feedback on my reviews - For more reviews and photos, follow my instagram: @nvc.eats

Yelp
This has become my go-to weekend spot for me and a gal pal after our morning workout. So glad she introduced me to P&G! It can get busy, but the line moves quickly, and we've never had trouble finding a table inside. Their baked goods look and smell enticing, and they do have some vegan offerings among them. I had the blueberry almond breakfast cake on my last visit and loved it. Moist with the perfect amount of crumble and just the right level of sweetness. It paired well with a cardamom latte. They had a white bean sandwich on their menu until recently which I was madly in love with. Their egg salad is also very good, but I do hope that white bean sammie makes a comeback... For all the raving I've heard about their scones, the cracked pepper manchego I tried was unexciting and overdone, and the manchego was practically undetectable. It was offered with housemade chive butter which sounded delicious, but it was served straight from the fridge and was so hard it was unusable. What a shame. Employees are pleasant and efficient, and I appreciate that their advertised pricing includes tip. Cute gift items available for sale as well.

Yelp
I stopped in looking for a vegan baked item and coffee, and they delivered. They had 2 different vegan baked items, a tahini panellet and a sort of banana loaf. I went with the panellet ($2.80 incl tax), which is made with sweet potato, almond flour, and black sesame seeds. The pastry was decent -- too much sesame seed I'd say, but had a nicely textured filling. The Americano ($3.91 incl tax) I had was solid too and did the job. Solid spot for (vegan) baked goods and coffee.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try this place for a while now, even before COVID. I recently started trying to go on morning walks and decided to finally come here. It was such a cute spot and the staff was very nice and helpful. My boyfriend had the dog outside and he forgot his mask, but luckily they had extra masks and let us bring our pup in. We ordered the ham and Gruyère rolls, an oat milk latte, and an oat milk London fog. I haven't had a London fog in a while and this one came out perfect! The ham & Gruyère roll was also delicious. For anyone wondering they have oat milk, soy milk, and almond milk as their milk alternatives. I look forward to coming back here and hopefully dining in one day when we're back to normal.

Yelp
This place was a great surprise. It had the same "generic coffee shop" aesthetic and boring name that you'll find anywhere, but the pastries and coffee - my god! The ham and jam biscuit sandwich was probably the best I'd had in years, even served cold. If you took one of these home and warmed it up in the toaster oven for a bit (or maybe they can? Didn't ask) you'd be looking at breakfast gold. Kudos to whoever is cranking these out. The rest of the goodies in the large pastry case in the front looked great, we'll try them next time.

Yelp
Cute Greenwood cafe spot with nice decor and a fun vibe. I can here for a light breakfast and I think that's what it's perfect for since it's mostly grab-and-go with premise bakery treats, but there are a few options for sandwich/salads. And I didn't get a drink but they had lots of options. My friends got the sandwich that was on Seawolf baguette, apple butter, and Brie - which they really enjoyed. I got the pickled egg salad sandwich which was nice and tasted like quality ingredients, but if you're not a fan of pickled/vinegar flavor it might be a bit strong for you because the eggs are pickled - not eggs and pickles! I also got the butternut squash bread and the caramelized onion and gruyere bun which was delicious (tasted like French onion soup).

Yelp
Preserve and Gather is a cafe in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood. My family of three went during the pandemic. Due to covid-19, indoor dining isn't allowed. Instead, walk up to the door converted into a window and order your pastries and coffee. We only had to wait a few minutes before our vanilla latte and decaf latte were ready. My vanilla latte was creamy, but my wife didn't love her decaf. Best coffee in the city? No, but still decent.
google avatar

Rosie K.

Yelp
I was visiting Seattle a couple of weeks ago and anytime I'm in Seattle, I try to find a neighborhood coffee shop to try coffee at. I went here twice during our weeklong stay and would've went more if I had the chance. Yummy coffee and I love that they make their own syrups. I tired a maple oatmilk latte and vanilla oatmilk latte. Both had just the right amount of sweetness (I don't like it super sweet) but the barista let me know that if it wasn't enough, she could add more. I also tried the zucchini bread and coffee cake. Both tasted homemade! Street parking only but luckily I was able to find some the two times I went. Will definitely come again next time I'm in Seattle!

Yelp
Great little spot with good food and coffee! Loved the ambiance of this place but chose to sit outside while getting some work done.

CJ S.

Yelp
Service can be hit and miss but is generally friendly and quick. The reason to come is the incredible manchego scones. These come with a shallot butter but the pro tip is to get a ramekin of Earl Grey jelly instead. Coffees are great and there are plenty of fancy drinks and non-dairy milks. Vegan & gluten baked goods are available for those on restricted diets. The space can get busy on the weekends and there are usually a few strollers and dog leashes to navigate. Don't expect to get a lot of work done unless you hot-spot as wifi is not available. Prices include tip, which is great.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
This place has good ok great coffee and a fantastic selection of baked goods. It's my go to local coffee.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
I ordered one of the caramelized onion and gruyere buns to sit down with. The person at the counter automatically threw it into a bag. I wasn't sure if they could be warmed up and since there's cheese in it I figured it would taste much better warm, but since she didn't ask and was holding the bag I let it be. It didn't taste great cold. But the biggest thing, as I tapped my card and waited for the transaction to finish, I saw the sign on the tip jar. It said something along the lines of "You already tipped, this is just extra ;)" .... excuse me? When did I tip? Do the people working there automatically add themselves a tip without letting anyone know? Or was that little note on the tip jar there so that legally they could say they let customers know? The nerve of this place... How do you even in good conscience decide to do that? The tipping thing is already out of control with the prompts on screens that are half the amount of a cup of coffee, but they are crossing the line by far.

Yelp
What a charming little cafe on an otherwise unremarkable street. Super friendly service, delicious coffee, and fun little tasty treats that I'd never even heard of before. I'd just come from an annoying trip to the pharmacy so thought to treat myself, and had been wanting to check out this spot. I love Fulcrum coffee, which was their current roaster on tap. Grabbed a cortado and a Panellet -- a little sweet potato cookie, and this one was rolled in black sesame seeds, making it the perfect orange/black Halloween sweet. So good! Super soft and chewy and sweet. Would love to try their other food, too. They also have super cute little crafts and things for sale as well as their homemade syrups and granola. Good thing I don't live closer. Also appreciate the outdoor seating on the less noisy side for those of us who are still abstaining from unnecessary unmasked time indoors. I'll be back! Thanks again for the friendly service. The vibes here are, as they say, immaculate

Shanon H.

Yelp
This place is awesome! They make everything on-site and the pastries are to die for. At 8am the pastries were still warm! Lovely staff, cute seating area and delicious food.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
I found myself at this busy neighborhood cafe two days in a row because the baked goods are that delicious. Between our visits, I got to try a savory ricotta mushroom hand pie, roasted veggie biscuit, and an onion gruyere bun, but the standout were the sweet cream scones that I took home to bake. This four pack of frozen, ready to bake scones were the highlight. Moist, buttery and flakey, they barely needed any jam. I am lucky it's not me but my family who lives near by, otherwise I'd be gaining quite a few pounds from their baked goods. Get here early, as they sell out of popular items quickly. Their coffee was pretty good too - I especially liked their mocha, which wasn't too sweet.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
Was trying to take pictures to post on their yelp and google to get them more business but the whole time the girls making the drinks in the back were rudely saying how we shoudl ask to take pictures beforehand. But we were taking pictures of the business to promote them, not of them personally. They were very rude and we will definitely never be back. We got the cherry fizz and it's was terrible and watered down.
google avatar

Hollis W.

Yelp
I love this place! They are doing counter ordering for pandemic-approved service, take away foods on the go. All pastries I've gotten are delicious- biscuits are moist and lush, flavor pairings are creative. They make their own syrups for coffee dranks which I always think is special. My bruss salad was super good- tasty mixed greens, an enjoyable pickled egg (try it!), and a yummy creamy dressing which I think is vegan. The granola is on the sweet side, but guess who has a sweet tooth (me). I dropped my kombucha on my freshly cleaned kitchen floor when I got home but I couldn't even be mad bc my lunch was so tasty. Good, quick service too. Thanks!!
google avatar

Trang P.

Yelp
Order at your own risk. They tackle on a 20% service charge (tip) w/o your knowledge. I would have been happy to tip, but wasn't given that option when I came in today. Pretty shady. Pastries were at least good.
google avatar

Erin C.

Yelp
Good coffee and service. But, no wifi! I mean, I guess I can hotspot from my phone. But why?
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
Cardamom syrup in their iced latte is really good. I would actually come back just for that. I also got the sea salt chocolate chip cookie, and I thought it was too undercooked. I usually like undercooked cookies for their chewiness, but I think it's better off with more time in the oven but more butter for the chew. It's also not well distributed sea salt.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Well presented and thoughtful coffee here at P&G. Not offensively priced, RADICAL treats selection. Good vibes here today. Bless.

Chris S.

Yelp
Completely amazing in every way - parties, coffee, people. Highly recommend. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Najin K.

Yelp
More then just a cute wall, they had savory scones and much more area to sit and meet a friend. The tables were all small so I don't reccomend large groups.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and am very impressed by this adorable cafe! The first time I had an almond milk latte, which was very good. The second time I had cold brew, which was just okay--a bit on the weak side, but it still hit the spot. I have not yet tried their hot coffee, but I look forward to doing so. Other reviewers are right, the pastries are to die for. I had a black pepper scone and I enjoyed it very much. The space is cute, airy, and modern, and staff are very friendly. They do not have WiFi, which can be a plus, but something to be aware of if you planned to bring your laptop. Can't wait for my next visit!
google avatar

Marielle J.

Yelp
I discovered this place while in Seattle for the afternoon. I was trying to find the best place to park since I know Seattle has a lot of street parking. I came at a good time I guess because there was available 2 hour street parking near the cafe which was great! This cafe is quaint - the atmosphere and wall paper is very nice. I got a Matcha latte and a sea salt dark chocolate chunk cookie. The only downside is that they do not have wi-fi which was a surprise to me because I know most cafes would have wi-fi and that was quite a disappointment. I had to use my personal hotspot just to do some work on my laptop.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
Went here 2 weeks in a row. Hard working ladies baking away. Great house made baked goods and yogurt too. Coffee is also very good. Original dishes. Breakfast sandwich is just the right size. their scones are pieces of heaven. Home made jam. Why can't we have a cafe like this on the east side????????!????!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Warning: olives are not pitted! TLDR: nice place to hang. Food ok. Pastries better. Typical cafe setting. Menu on wall behind register. Music in background but easily ignorable when in deep conversation. Very spacious dining/cafe area. Service: order and pay at the front, seat/water yourself (dispenser on the right), utensils in island in front of register, bus your own table. Pickled Egg Salad: indeed pickled. Served on warm toast and there is a generous amount of egg salad. Definitely on the sour side. It was a good experience but I prefer regular egg salad. Poppyseed Cake with strawberries: yumm. The strawberries really add that nice tang to the sweet cake. The Savory Plate: indeed very savory but so salty and sour to the point where my taste buds were trying to find neutral relief...but the crackers were also salted. I feel like this dish would be more palatable with bland crackers to help neutralize the salt and sour extremes. Oh boy are those crackers crunchy! Caution: olives are not pitted--don't choke on the pits! Food was ok--nice to give it a try but I wouldn't order it a second time. Pastries tasted much better. Nothing too amazing about this place in my opinion.

Yelp
I love this place. They are so kind. During Covid I've seen them more often than anyone else (other than my family). The baked goods are wonderful. The lattes are perfect.

Yelp
I'm always excited to try a new cafe, especially when it boasts an unusual, custom roast espresso and bakes its own goodies. The minute you enter you notice two things: a wonderful, spicy, toothsome bakery smell that is instantly inviting and comforting...and barking dogs. This is a dog-friendly store, which means irritating dog owners, who don't seem to much care how their animals behave. But kudos to the management, who have nailed their demographic exactly and have fine-tuned this store to meet their needs. Greenwood these days has changed hands; no more the somewhat swarthy working-class bedroom community it once was, Greenwood is gentrifying rapidly into the haunt of the yuppie family class, successful couples with ample time and money settling down and buying custom-bred dogs like labradoodles, puggles and such, as sort-of training-wheel baby surrogates. These folks mismanage their expensive animals and sip their complicated hemp milk half-caff no-foam vanilla lattes elbow to elbow with those that have gone ahead and pulled the baby trigger, with infants and toddlers in spendy Maclaren strollers and front facing swaddlers, which allow the proud parent to wear their offspring like a badge. But I digress. The goodies here are small but fresh-baked and delicious-looking. I cannot partake, because of dietary restrictions, but they look and smell fantastic. And the prices are reasonable by Seattle standards- almost all their drinks and snacks are under $5, and the $7 plates are bargains indeed, offering gourmet nibbles of cheese, charcuterie, olives, nuts, house-made herbed spreads and jellies. Similar offerings at local restaurants can fetch $15 or more. The interior is mid-century modern meets industrial, with Edison-lit globe lights, uncomfortably hard metal seating, concrete counters and floors, exposed plumbing and ventilation and light blue-and-gold color scheme, softened with a few plants and chill alt-rock music. The butt-bruising seating serves a purpose-it promotes table turnover. Most can't linger here all day, or even much more than an hour, without losing sensation in part of their posterior self. My espresso was perfect, chocolaty and expertly extracted, the crema remaining intact even five minutes after pouring, and served with mineral water, as is proper. I will certainly be back for more- but I'll be taking mine to go. Not my crowd, and I can't feel my toes... Recommended!

Yelp
Stopped in for the first time at Preserve and Gather on a cloudy, drizzly Sunday...what a warm ray of sunshine with a touch of sleek modernism inside! Decided to have a 16 oz mocha (Conduit) and a scone, manchego cheese with black pepper and served with amazing shallot butter. OMG! Larger and in the same level of amazingness as another of similar flavor profile at Coyle's Bakeshop. Clearly another well loved indie neighborhood cafe in that area in between Ballard and Greenwood. Even ran into a former colleague, met his partner and their lovely dog who live nearby. (Cafe is dog friendly!) Great coffee, terrific baked goods, clean and bright interior, hip and welcoming, pleasant music, and a variety of seating arrangements and reading material. Heard about this from The Bearded One, and today spontaneously had to stop in and stay awhile. A definite excellent find!

Tom B.

Yelp
This is my go-to local coffee shop in Greenwood. In addition to great coffee they have great pastries and other goodies. Try the ham and jam biscuit!

Melissa W.

Yelp
Came to this cute cafe a few times since it was a quick walk from the Airbnb I was staying at. I loved the smell of coffee and fresh baked goods as I walked in. Coffee was consistently good, the pastries smell and taste delicious, service was good, and enjoyed the ambiance. Definitely will be back when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Ted S.

Yelp
Bright, delightful, and worth the price. There's really no day where I don't crave the Ham and Jam, and the handpies are also excellent. Service charge is included so unless you are the type of person who doesn't tip elsewhere, the costs are about what you pay at any good bakery cafe. The espresso is also well above average. Great staff too.

Yelp
Ricotta Cake with orange marmalade was sooo delicious!! Moist with just the right amount of sweetness that pairs perfectly with a cup of latte Beautiful modern deco with great ambience Will visit again

Yelp
How I heard of this place: I walked by, saw a cool, corner store-front, window-laden establishment with everything about it yelling "hipster"! I mentioned, to my husband, my desire to check it out nearly weekly, even before it officially opened, then perused Yelp for the reviews and recommendations, and today, we finally made it happen. Type of cuisine: "Along with a full espresso bar Preserve and Gather features a rotating menu of small bites. Below is an example of our offerings. Full menu available all day. A selection of sweet and savory pastries are baked in house every morning." Other offers include housemate yogurt with toppings, toasts and small salads, as well as meat & cheese & pickle plates. Ambiance: A wide, open space with contradictory, simple and easily working-together, industrial lighting fixtures and glimmering walls, Preserve & Gather has certainly taken the house-made pastry shop to a new, hipster level. Devoting much time and energy to the one accent wall has sure made an imprint on the space, and in the minds of those who enter. Not to mention the vibrant, living room setting at the corner, with wooden, yellow benches, and coffee tables at which to sip your beverage over conversation. Enter the space, place your order along the extra-long, completely clutter-free counter, and await your beverage at the end. Help yourself to condiments and cutlery, as needed, then take your seat at any variety of seating options available throughout, including at the window-facing barquette. What I ordered: The first to arrive, just minutes after opening, and knowing the rave reviews from Yelp centered around the Ham + Jam Biscuit ($4.25) with apple butter and sharp cheddar, we immediately selected two of them to start. Additionally, to start our mornings off sweet and right, my husband and I each ordered a latte; his, a 16-ounce ($4) with house-made caramel ($0.50), and mine, a 12-ounce ($3.50) with house-made vanilla bean ($0.50), on the sweet side. What I loved: Ham + Jam is a great combo, though it could have used more cheese (it wasn't noticeable). The vanilla bean in the coffee: oh my! Returning for this, for sure! Why I loved it: A clean space, cool design, warm decor in a minimalist nature, and nearly everything house-made. You can't beat a neighborhood spot with so much house-made goodness. Cost: Average ($3 - $6 per espresso beverage or fresh, house-made pastry)

Yelp
Excellent coffee drinks (both regular coffee and espresso drinks), and I feel that they have good safety measures in place to ensure that the food and drinks are prepared in a safe environment. I really like their mochas because they are not overpoweringly sweet like at a lot of coffee places but still have a good chocolate flavor.
